IPad shipping date moved from 21st March to 11th April?!

Hello,
i ordered my iPad on 9th March and got the 21st March as delivery date.
Now as they registered the actual payment the delivery date was moved to 11st April.
I called the customer service and the told me that the iPad gets reserved when the payment is done, not when i order it. But there was no hint in the actual order for that.
My question is now: Can Apple just do that? Is that even legal? EVERY Shop in the Internet have to reserve the product as the order comes in. Why not Apple?
Do you know any other address than the customer service telephone where i can address complaint? Maybe someone who can really do something?
I need the iPad for my courses and already sold my iPad 2 (because i should get my iPad on 21st March -.-

OK, probably a large backlog.

Probably standard practice to confirm a product to an order when payment is processed. I just ordered something this morning and did not receive confirmation of the order until the payment was processed.
My question is now: Can Apple just do that? Is that even legal? EVERY Shop in the Internet have to reserve the product as the order comes in. Why not Apple?
Of course they can do that. If you were selling something would you confirm the order before you received payment confirmation? Of course it's legal. Please cite your source for "EVERY" shop has to reserve when an order comes in. Apple has their own ordering and delivery processes.

Apple contact info is at the bottom of each page.

  • Ipad ship date

yippee!!! apple has shipped my ipad!! for those of you who are also waiting.......i ordered on may20 and was given ship date of June 4. I got a shipping notification yesterday....so they beat the original date by 3 days. yea!!!

    Hi,
Don't want to rain on your iPad, but I have the same order and ship date as you.
Anyway, check your tracking often, as it changes. My first email said delivery would occur on June 3 (Thurs.). Next time I looked, it had been moved up to the 7th. That's still two days before the original quote, but I'm trying to contain my enthusiasm until it's at my door.
I'm in Oregon, so seems like our iPads were part of the same batch.
    Have fun!

  • Shipping date changed from 10/28 to unkown?  Canceled order?

I ordered an iPhone 5s on 10/11.  Since then, it has shown a ship date of 10/28, until last night.  Now under the "expected ship date" it says "not available at this time".  What in the world does that mean?  Have these orders been pushed back, yet again?  I ordered a 16gb space grey one and I thought those were shipping sooner than the gold ones.  I am a brand new customer to Verizon wireless and I received an email last night saying my order was canceled.  I called and they assured me that it is still in the system (once they finally found my order) and that it looked like somehow another order was "accidentally" placed by the system and that order was canceled.  The weird thing is that the canceled order number is the same order number as the iPhone I ordered and not the Note 3's I ordered because I ordered them separately.
I've seen numerous posts about orders accidentally getting canceled.  I don't understand how their system can be THIS bad.  This isn't exactly appealing to someone who is a new customer of this company.  I had no choice but to switch to Verizon from another company due to us moving and not having service anymore with our prior cell company.  I'm a little frustrated.

While speaking to my "other" cell company getting my final bill in order, with the exception of that one line I am waiting to transfer, a rep there told me their grey and silver iPhones are shipping in 3-5 business days consistently.  She even double checked when I was on the phone, for argument's sake, and confirmed it.  I have ONE out of 3 lines left on my other provider due to the delayed shipping of the iPhone 5s.  I am really trying to avoid having to pay another month's service there and have until November 2nd to port that last number over because my new billing cycle starts on the 3rd.  If the shipping gets pushed back further, it's not going to be favorable for me and I'll end up paying 2 different companies for another month.  I also can't just delete the other line or my daughter will be left at school without a phone and in this day and age, I'm not willing to do that.

  • Data moving from PSA to Infoobject- ASAP

    Hi all,
I am moving data from R/3 to an Infoobject, strangely the data get updated till PSA but no to the infooject. so while debugging the tranfer structure i found that the infoobject is assigned with incorrect R/3 filed. My doubt is if in the tranfer structure level itself it is incorrectly assigned the how does the data appear in PSA. Please clear my doubt.
    Regards

    Hi,
the data is tranfered from R/3 to PSA without any trasformation. So transformation can be done in update or transfer rules. Chechk them both and import the data again.

  • My ipad is not moving from the icloud backup

My ipad is stuck with the icloud backup on the screen and pressing the ignore or the setting key it is still not moving. Any help

    Hi..
After inserting my credentials, the new icon of my new app appears on the screen. On this moment an error appears, in dutch "Verbinding met iTunes store mislukt" meaning, "Connection with iTunes store failed"
Be aware, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • Can I change iPad cellular data service from AT&T to Verizon?

I want to give old ipad to my mom.  She has Verizon cell service.  How can I change cellular data to Verizonand put it on her account?

You can't. To use Verizon, you must have an iPad that was sold specifically for use with Verizon. She'll have to use AT&T or perhaps T-Mobile to use your old iPad directly on a cell network. She can of course just use it standalone or on Wi-Fi and not use a cell network at all, or if she has a cellphone that offers tethering, aka "personal hotspot", she could connect the iPad to the cell network that way.
    Regards.

  • Recover iPad 2 data directly from the device

I just upgraded my iPad software to iOS 6. Something happened during the upgrade and iTunes restored the files using an old backup which resulted in loosing a lot of pictures, apps, etc. Is there a tool available that would help restore those files directly from the device? Thank you.

As a follow up to the above question... Even if there is no tool available, is there a way to get back the information that was on the iPad before the upgrade to iOS 6? I've not connected to iTunes for a few months and when I did, as I mentioned before, I've updated to the latest version of iTunes and iOS. There was a glitch with the upgrade, it got interrupted, and when it restarted it restored and old back up. The result was that everything I added since the last backup doesn't show up on my iPad anymore.
I would really appreciate an answer to my questions even if it is: It can't be done. Period.
    Thank you.

  • Expected Ship Date:  Not available at this time.

For those wondering where their previously promised phone is (and if they will ever see it), there is hope... Epilogue, still no ship date and still no official word from Verizon.
<Chat transcript removed as proprietary information per the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service.>
Message was edited by: Verizon Moderator
If only Verizon's customer relations and notifications were as diligent as their moderators ;-)
The gist of the chat was that there were "unknown delays in the shipment of HTC phones" and the best guess is shipping approximately a week after the initial promise date. Perhaps I'm the only one experiencing their "ship date" moving from a given date to the text, "Not available at this time", and therefore should consider myself "special".
If anyone else is also special, please reply if only to have necessary evidence to escalate the communication issue either up the support chain or in effective social network forums.

The irony of this dissertation is that the content in question of violating the ToC was actually a cleansed chat dialogue (all PII - Personal Identity Information - was obfuscated) that portrayed Verizon online support in a positive light as caring, resourceful, and responsive to an unfortunate situation where they failed to proactively notify customers of delays.
It was shared with this community so that others in this situation could see both (a) the reason for the delay and (b) that someone at Verizon actually cares.
For some reason, this caused a fellow consumer to register a complaint, perhaps it was motivated because they are dissatisfied with Verizon and do not like to see them portrayed so positively?
The apparent necessity to police and educate posters in discussions is a natural self-appointed role well documented in the behaviors of social networks such as this. The unfortunate fallout is that the original message is too often lost in the educational discourse that ensues.
To be clear, the original message is this:
If your prepaid order for an HTC 8x has an expected ship date that changed from a given date to the text "not available at this time", fear not - the friendly and helpful live-chat people will tell you it is because of unforeseen delays with the hardware manufacturer and they are very sorry this was not communicated to you. Simply wait for an email that your phone has shipped - as they are unable to provide an updated expected ship date.

  • Do Verizon customers have any legal recourse in response to the false advertising of iPhone ship dates, as well as de-prioritizing existing customers in the fulfillment order?

9/19 guaranteed ship date, seems like a clear cut case of "bait and switch" on top of the customer service failure.
State and federal laws are in place to protect consumers from false or misleading advertising. These laws make deceptive claims illegal. No business may make false, misleading, or deceptive claims about a product regarding its:
    Price
    Quality
    Purpose
Consumers who are victims of false or misleading advertising should contact an experienced lawyer to find out about his or her rights and actions that can be taken.
False advertising is any published claim that is deceptive or untruthful. Misleading advertising is any published claim that gives a consumer an incorrect understanding of the product they are interested in purchasing or using. The false and misleading advertising by companies of any product may result in the consumer suffering a financial loss, or another form of damage to the consumer.
The financial losses or damages acquired by a consumer due to the false or misleading advertising may not be significant. However, this is not a cost that any consumer should have to endure. Consumers who have suffered from financial losses or other damages may participate in a class action lawsuit to recover compensation for any losses incurred.
The Types of False and Misleading Advertising Tactics
There are several types of false and misleading advertising tactics used by companies to lure in unsuspecting consumers. Some of these tactics include:
    Bait & Switch Advertising
    High-Pressure Sales Tactics
    Deceptive Form Contracts
    Artificially Inflating Prices
    Failure to Disclose
Bait & switch advertising is the advertising of a product that the business does not provide or does not intend to sell. Businesses usually lure consumers into stores by promising to sell or provide an item or service at a certain cost. Once the consumer is in the store, the business tries to sell the consumer a more costly item or service.
High-pressure sales tactics are used to get consumers to purchase a service or product that he or she does not want or does not intend to purchase.
Deceptive form contracts have ambiguous promises or fine print in their contracts that are usually overlooked or misunderstood.
Artificially inflating prices is used by businesses to give the illusion that a great deal on a product or service is available.
Failure to disclose is a term used for when a business does not inform consumers when an item or service is currently unavailable, or when an offer has expired.
Consumers may be awarded a variety of remedies against any business that engages in false or misleading advertising. These remedies may include:
    Monetary damages
Injunctions ordering the businesses to stop running the advertisements
Injunctions ordering the businesses to stop engaging in deceptive practices
Injunctions ordering the businesses to include disclosure statements in their advertising

Good luck in proving that they purposely deceived you, me, and anyone else still waiting.  I'm would guess that they were told by Apple to expect a certain amount devices, and when that amount fell short...well guess what happens...backorders and furious consumers.  Was I upset that I had trouble pre-ordering...yes.  Was I a bit bothered when my ship date moved...you betcha!  Will my world come to an end if I don't have my new iPhone today...nope, not at all.  I'm not saying you shouldn't be bothered but it's not like it's a limited edition device and they're only producing so many.  Everyone who wants one will eventually have the opportunity to get it...some of us will just have to wait a little longer.  I'm in no way telling you not to be upset, after all, you're entitled to your own opinion and feelings...I just know that my energy could be better used on something more productive than being angry at Verizon.   After all, I know they're not sitting on a boat load of phones just pointing at laughing at the fact that I have to wait.  When they have it, they'll ship it.  I'll get mine and I'm sure if you hang in there, you'll get yours too.  Have a great evening and smile...life's much to short to spend any moment being upset over something as simple as a delayed phone.

  • Spoke with CSR to verify shipping date for iPhone 5

    Hello Everyone!
Thought this might help ease everyone's minds just a bit about iPhone 5 shipping/delivery dates.  I logged onto the verizon website at 12:01am PST on Sept. 14th and ordered the iPhone 5.  I received a confirmation email about 30 minutes later with the DELIVERY date as: September 21st.  I have been having the same issues a lot of you have been experiencing with finding the status of the order online but when it does pull it up it states that SHIPPING date is September 21st.  So of course, I was confused.  I was able to use Verizon's online chat to speak with a CSR.  (See screen shot of conversation)
They seem to verify that IF you received an email like I did that states DELIVER ON September 21st, then you WILL have the phone in your hands on launch day   They also verified that they will be using FedEx Two Day Shipping.  Hope this helps!

I placed mine last Friday also and my confirmation email said delivery date of 09/21/2012 also. I spoke on the phone with Verizon today and they told me that because of the high demands the dates will get pushed back. But if the email says 09/21, then it will most likely SHIP on that day. Since they ship via FedEx two day ground, they told me I will receive it before or on the 28th. So I hope the info you got was right instead of mine.

  • Any advice on moving from iPad 3 (WiFi) to iPad 4 (WiFi+Cellular)

My new iPad is on it's way and I want to make sure that all of the content I have on my current iPad will move over to my new iPad.
I just synced and backed up using iTunes 11 on my MacBook Pro running 10.8.2.  So will I just have to restore from that backup to my new iPad?
What about podcasts that I have in Instacast?  I have about 5 GB of unlistened to podcasts that I want to make sure move over without problem.
Both iPads are 64 GB models, so I'm not moving from / to a different size device.
I'm moving to the cellular model because where I work they block personal hotspots and do not have WiFi throughout the building.
My current iPad runs iOS 6.0.1.  Should I ensure the new one is also running that version before doing the restore?
Anything else I should watch out for?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

It will not let you restore if the new 4th generation iPad has an older version of iOS than the one you wish to restore from. However, it should already come with the latest version. I would recommend using iCloud for your backups. You can read more here:

  • IPad 2 Shipping Data

Just wanted to let you guys know the shipping data for iPad 2's in US for those of you who are still waiting:
Once your iPad ships you will receive a tracking code.
The iPad will originate in Shenzen, CN and tax approx. 18 hours to get to it's overseas shipping hub (Lantou Island, HK). Once it leaves from there it will take approx. 10 hours to cross the Pacific Ocean to Anchorage, Alaska. From there it will take 5 hours to get to Oakland, CA and then it may take up to 5 more hours to arrive at your local hub.
    Enjoy!
    Max

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
There is a thread on this page with over 1000 comments that well establishes all of this info. But they all would no necessarily go to CA. Mine went from Alaska to Memphis, TN for delivery in Dallas, TX.

  • IPad 2 Ship Dates

We have provided the most up-to-date shipping timeframe for the iPad 2 below:
All iPad 2 orders are currently expected to be shipped 7-10 days from the order date.
For orders not expected to meet the 7-10 day delivery time frame, customers will be notified via SMS.
To view your expected ship date, you may go to the iPad 2 order status page (located at vzw.com/iPadshipping).
On the iPad 2 order status page, enter your order number and location code and then click "Check iPad Status" to check your order status.
Thanks for your continued patience with this matter.

I'm in the same boat you are. I orderd mine as well on April 13th with a shipping date of May 4th and delivered by May 5th....
I was really hoping that when Apple announced that they were shortening shipping times to 1-2 weeks (this was about a week after April 13th), that my order would be shortened as well which 2 weeks after April 13th would put it at April 27th (yesterday), but apparently the new shipping times don't apply to existing orders, that really stinks.

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.
