  • Dropped the computer, charger doesn't fit right. Help?

I recently dropped my MacBook :'( and I didn't think it would have any lasting effects. HOWEVER, now the charger doesn't fit into the socket. I examined it and I THINK that the socket has been distorted by the fall. Help?
p.s. I'm actually a middle school student, so if you answer this question, PLEASE write in regular English

What model of Mac do you have? (Open 'System Profiler' and look at line 2. My computer says 'MacBook4.1')
Once you know your model you can locate the appropriate repair guide on ifixit.com. It sounds like your "magsafe board" may have gotten damaged or knocked loose.
You may want to consider taking the computer to a professional repair shop. You don't want to accidentally turn a minor repair job into a major repair job (and get your parents mad in the process).

  • Car charger doesn't fit with bumper case!!!!!!!!!

    Hi
Just got my new bumper case on the free offer and it look great BUT my car charger doesn't fit with the case on ( I have tried 2 different types)
    The house charger fits fine.
The car chargers were bought of the net, will I need one form the apple store to get it to work.
Has anyone esle had this problem?
This is my first I phone and its brilliant but this case fiasco is annoying!!!!
    Cheers Sandy

    Hi,
This is an unfortunate fact. Some aftermarket products don't fit. I have an iTrip and I had to modify the plug to fit in. Simple with a dremel tool. File will work too. Cheaper than buying a new charger/FM transmitter.

  • I dropped my MacBook air and when I dropped the corner where the charger would go dented the charger doesn't fit in it anymore

I dropped my computer and the corner where the charger would go indented and charger doesn't fit aymore

Take it to Apple and pay for an out of warranty replacement.

  • My lightening charger is not fitting snug into the charging port

Hello. I am having trouble with the lightening charger for my iPhone 5. When I plug it in, the phone makes the sound that it always does, indicating that it is charging. Then, it starts making the noise over and over. The lightening charger is not fitting snug into the charging port. I tried cleaning it out and got a big ball of lint out, but the issue remains. It is hard to get a charge, I have to place my phone down and finagle the lightening cord so that it will charge. I have a Genius Bar appointment, but it isn't until the end of the week. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm also having this issue with my car charger, so I know its not the lightening cord that came with the phone that is causing the problems.

Make a Genius Bar appointment before you make the drive.

my ipod doesn't turn on and doesn't charge at all.what will i do?can i replace that for free?i just used it for 7 months..hope you can help me

See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281.  I had the same problem, but solved it by holding down the home button and the on/off button for 10 seconds.  If you are lucky, that will work for you as well!

  • The battery of my Ipod doesnt charge, so how much it cost and where can I replace it??

the battery of my Ipod doesnt charge, so how much it cost and where can I replace it???

You can take it to an Apple store...I think its costly though, I was told maybe a 100 bucks...not sure though. How long have you had the iTouch before the battery showed signs of failure, what Generation?
This is something that has been having me wonder about battery life.

Heard the same guff at the counter today. Took both mine and my sons lead to apple store in manchester uk. . .{snip} . . .When I started to kick off I was removed from the counter to a corner of the store, I assume so other customers couldn't hear the rest of the conversation. Apple representative offered to replace my cable but not my sons. Not a happy apple user right now.
I'll let you in on a bit of a secret.  Apple retail staff (Specialists, Geniui and Floor Mangers) have a great deal of leeway when it comes to customer appeasement.  When rapport breaks down, the customer is less likely to enjoy that leeway.  Chances are, no matter who made the intial call, it will be reinforced regardless of how high it goes up the supervisory chain.
The item you went in for retails for $19.  They probably misplace four or five of them each day.  If they sent you home without one, there was likely a good reason for that.

  • Macbook topcase doesn't fit well into macbook.

I just recently installed a new topcase on my MacBook 2.0ghz and I noticed around the edges that there are small openings. like little cracks were I can almost peer into the computer. Why is that? is there something I need to do?

You probably bent the case when replacing the top case, and so now it doesn't fit as seamlessly as it should.
Good news is that it's purely cosmetic and shouldn't affect the running of your system. So just do your best to ignore it.

  • My one year warranty expired recently, a month ago my charger was replaced under warranty and it has only lasted a month and has broken again, does the replacement charger come with a new warranty or will i have to buy a new one?

Bought the phone on contract last January (late in january), had my charger replaced just after christmas and now it has stopped working again, its been about a month and a half and the replacement charger is broken, does the replacement charger come with a new warranty or will I have to buy a new charger? And if so, is there a charger that doesn't break easily (my problem is the the wire at the phone end of the cable seems to bunch and twist etc.)
    thanks.

a warranty replacement if the donor is out of warranty has a new 90 days warranty from exchange date

  • IPhone 3G stock and first gen charging cable doesn't fit cleanly.

Has anyone else noticed that the charging cord that came from apple doesn't fit cleanly into their iPhone 3G? Mine fits crooked. It still charges and everything but it just doesn't fit right. This is true for the cord that came with the phone and the old cord from my own phone.

It should fit flush and straight. I use multiple cables (the one that came with the iPhone, a BT Travel Cable, an old Griffin cable in the car (the one with the pinch-to-release clasp) - they all fit flush and straight in the iPhone 3G.
You might want to have yours checked out at an Apple Store.

  • IPad2 charger stop to work after the second charging

My iPad2 charger doesn't work after the second charging. In local resseler didn't want to change with new one. What I have to do to use my new iPad2? I have iPad2 30 days but I can not use it.

If, as you say, the local reseller is not being helpful... Then Contact Apple.

  • The font size is so big my desktop doesn't fit on the screen

The font size is so big my desktop doesn't fit on the screen and can't figure out how to fix it.

There solutions in the "More like this" list on the right.
If this behaviour is system wide you have to choose another reslotution in SystemPreferences/Displays.

  • Can ipad2 charger be used for iphone4s

Can the new iPad2 charger be used safely for iPhone4s ?
And can the iPhone4s charger be used for the new iPad2?
And finally, who makes the best extra long cable to connect the chargers to the devices?

The iPad charger is compatible with every mobile device that Apple makes. Look it up in the Apple Store.
The iPhone charger will just charge the iPad, if the iPad is not being used. Really inadequate, as only half the power.
The best supplier of a long cable is the one you find on the internet. Do not overlook the idea of a mains extension for a few pounds/dollars/whatever to move the charge closer to the device.
