IPhone 4 crashes whilst charging and playing music

Hi
Ive been using an iPhone and an itrip auto to both playing music and charge my phone in the car.
Im having issues where the phone will jump back to the silver apple logo when its charging through the iphone cable plugged into the itrip and playing music at the same time.....
If im just charging it, its fine, if im just playing music its fine...... Just not at the same time.
Any suggestions?

I realise this hasn't been answered yet but it happens to me quite a lot too.
I'll be listening to music on my iPhone 4 whilst charging my phone and it will inevitably crash and restart. Lately I've realised it happens no matter what I'm doing on the phone as long as it is being charged at the same time.
It never happened on my iPhone 3G.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent this from happening?

Fixed it. It is on Chevrolet's end. Press config to access the configuration settings. Turn menu/tune knob to highlight vehicle settings. Press menu/tune to select the vehicle settings menu. Choose return to factory settings.

  • My iPhone overheated whilst charging, and won't let me turn it on or charge anymore. What can I do?

I was using my iPhone 4, with the Skype app open, when the iPhone overheat message popped up. I let it cool down before I began using it again, only to find that it won't charge, and now the charge's completely exhausted, I cannot open my phone at all, and I cannot get it charged either. What can I do?

    Hello Eena23,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone 4.  I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on.  I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this.  I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • Clicking sound when charging and playing

My ipod makes a really weird clicking sound when it's charging and playing music and videos either though the clicker isn't on.

I have tried just about everything very methodicly.
Got Tune Tech for iPod software and cleaned everything, tried the diagnostic mode to see if everything was OK. I was thinking on the lines of some sort of macanical/electronic failure (SDRAM) but everything was all right
So I plunged in and retrograded to firmware 1.2 and VOILA !
The instructions found on MacIntouch were very simple and easy to do.
My faithfull 5G iPod is back to good working order....for now !
    No more freeze when charging.
I hope Apple will adress this firmware problem in the next update.

  • Iphone screen is white, still plays music and turns on..Whats wrong?

I brought my iphone up to the snow with me. Unfortunetly it got wet. After seeing this I dried it off and now its sitting in rice. When I turn it on, the screen is white, yet it charges and I can slide it open and play music. So I know the phone still works. Not sure what to do. Any help will do. A friend suggested I replace the screen because he had a same problem with pressure and I was up in the mountains. Please help. Thank you.
(Phone has been running slower since newest update, sometimes it would die with 45% battery left)

    Hello Madshammitt
Try the steps that I have quoted from the article below. If that does not work, check the article for further troubleshooting.

    Display shows a white screen
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the iPhone will not turn off, try to reset it.
If that doesn't work, try restoring the device.

  • HT1665 Logitech rechargeable speaker S315i no longer works with my iphone 5.  It won't charge or play music.  Is it to do with the speakers or iPhone?

Hi, my My Logitech rechargeable speaker S315i no longer works with my iphone 5.  It won't charge or play music. When I switched to iPhone 5 I had to buy an adapter - but it still worked perfectly...now it just stopped working???  It still works with my original iPhone (first model!!)
This must have to do with the iPhone upgrade....has anyone had this problem?
    Landy

Try this procedure; it has worked for many people.
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

My iPhone will ring but not play music. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple. If no coverage, clean again with toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol.

  • The sound on my iPhone 4S cuts out when playing music/podcasts.

The sound on my iPhone 4S cuts out when playing music/podcasts.  If I unplug and replug in the headphones, the sound comes back on, but often for only 20 seconds or so before cutting out again.  Sometimes it will play for 15-20minutes before cutting out.  The track is not "paused", and appears to continue, just no sound.  I tried cleaning the headphone jack with compressed air to no avail.  I also noticed the the same phenomenon occurs when I sync my bluetooth to my car audio.  That is, it will play for a while, then the sound will cut out, even though the track is still shown to be playing.  If I reset the bluetooth, the sound comes back on.
This started happening about a week ago, but no "event" that I can think of caused it.  I didnt' get the phone wet, forcefully drop it, or leave it in extreme heat.  I've tried doing a reset of the phone.  I also was running iOS5 when I first noticed this, and since upgraded to iOS6.  The problem appeared with both.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve

One thing that helped was getting a toothbrush and scrubbing the dock connector on the phone.  I scrubbed the connector and used compressed air for about 1/2 hour till the connector looked much cleaner.  An Apple employee told me that the pins on the phone had a little corrosion and sand.  The problem hasn't gone away completely, but has been significantly reduced.  I'm going to hold out until my contract expires after which time I'll switch to an iPhone5 (or newer) or Android phone.

  • I was downloading music to my iTunes account and playing music from my I tunes library when all of the sudden it stopped playing and the control panel won't let me restart the music.....why

I was downloading music cd from my PC to my I tunes library and playing music on the I tunes player at the same time when all of the sudden my music stop playing and I can't get the I tunes player to restart playing music from my library again. The I tunes equalizer / player box with timer shows the song ready to play but the controls won't restart the song.......why not, and how to I get it to restart playing my library?

    - You need to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and start anew.  Is the restore button visable in iTunes?  If it is they restore the iPod.
    - If it is not visible try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - If the restore button is still not visable, try placing the iPod in recovry mode.  See:

  • Can you charge and play shuffle (2nd gen) at the same time?!

we purchased a shuffle to run our 'on hold' music at work, and its a pain in the arse to remember to charge it every night. im so used to my iPod video that lets me charge and play at the same time...
    any suggestions?!

    Hi Jen,
I have the USB Power Adapter plugged into a power
outlet and the shuffle plugged into the adapter. I'm
running a headphone to RCA cable to an audio
receiver's inputs. This allows me to listen to all my
songs on the Shuffle without needing to have a
computer near by. I've been using this set up since I
bought the Shuffle. I have to mention that the
Shuffle I own is 1st Gen...
    Again, hope this helps.
With all due respect, Rick, Jen (the original poster) was asking about how to charge+play a SECOND GENERATION Shuffle...you might note that fact is even included in the Subject field...
But now that you've mentioned yours is a 1st Gen Shuffle... 1st Gen Shuffles ARE available from the online Apple Store as refurbished for $49. Perhaps she should think about getting one of those?

  • Constant, erratic beeping while charging and playing simultaneously

    Hi,
My 5th gen ipod started beeping through speakers/headphones while charging and playing at the same time. Once it has been unplugged from the ac charger and switched off/on again it is fine. This wasn't really much of a problem - a bit annoying - but as I mostly charged overnight and used during the day it didn't bother me; until now. I bought a dock with remote but as the dock automatically charges the ipod when the inserted it causes it to beep/bleep ALL the time, rendering the remote pretty useless cause i can't listen to music while it's in the dock due to the incessant beeping.
HELP! - how do I stop the beeping? Is it normal? I want to know if this is something that can't be cured before I go ahead and do something drastic like resetting my ipod completely...

there appears to be no solution...if yours does it you're stuck with it, as am I. :I

  • My ipod video 30gb's sound isn't working when I try and play music, however I can still hear the clicker?

I just retrieved this old iPod from my room as when I got an iPhone I completely abandoned the iPod, I believe the model is a 30GB video.
I can hear the clicker without headphones but when I plug my headphones in and play music, I can't hear anything, and this isn't a problem with the headphones because I have tried with several different types.
    Hope someone can help.

Usually this is a good indication of a damaged headphone jack, meaning, you'll need to have your iPod serviced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
