IPhone 4 Video Recording, sound muffled?

Hello everyone,
I just bought iPhone 4.
I recorded a video clip and while I listen it, I hear a lot of gravelly audio noises that there is no actual noise in the room.
Is this normal?

I just had the same problem occur. There was nothing recorded but a slight hiss. Not even muffled sound. I suspected a real hardware failure of some kind. I took it to the Apple Store for confirmation. My reservation was lost but I stood in line and eventually got it tested. It's a hardware problem and since I'm out of warranty I can:
Put up with never using those features again
Pay Apple $149 for a replacement to use those features again
Pay even more to the carrier and add 2-yrs to my contract to get a new iPhone 4S
Usually a failure like that would happen early in a devices life, but I was not that fortunate.

Had an Iphone 4 for about 3 months now. This happened to the first one I had and they ended up having to replace it at the apple store just a couple weeks ago 6/2. It happened again last night to my new one. This time i was able to correct it by going to itunes, backing up the phone to icloud, and then restoring the software. Mine did not work with voice memo, but did work with headphones plugged in, and would also work on speaker. I could hear callers but they couldn't hear me. I had purchased a new case (lifeproof case at $79.99) because it comes with plugs that cover the headphone jack, and the charging port, and is also waterproof. I heard that the root cause is due to lint, dirt, etc getting inside the headphone jack. Well, must be something else. It's a 10 days old phone, and has been in this overpriced case the whole time, and I have not used the headphones. I hope this doesn't keep happening.

IPhone 5 video recording

Hi, I've had my iphone 5 since launch date and I was able to record videos with sounds perfectly now when I record a video I can't hear anything, I tried voice memos and I can hear myself an I have nothing covering the microphone. Anyone please

The problem I found, on my iPhone back a film on it to protect against scratches. Then looked at an Apple TV and advertising because it has been shown that the back is a small addition to the Micro Camera :) and that was covered by the foil so foil away and everything works perfect.

Iphone 4s video recording good but no audio

Last two months I did not use video recording, today when I did record of my child video I found there is no sound, I checked voice recording, volume control voice calling & siri all are working ok, after that I did restart phone checked all the way to set but could not resolve the problem please any one from apple support can solve my problem. I have updated my iPhone 4s with iOS 7.1. last week only.

its not jailbroken but i have tried resetting it and i can see the logo and phone is now on but no audio ty we are half way there

IPhone 4 video recording

Wondering why whenever i transfer videos that ive recording on my iphone 4 back to iphoto the resolution is vertically oriented - as in I can't make by video fill the screen, its just a tall, thin, vertical column of video. I suspect it has to do with the resolution the video was recorded in (720x1280) and my monitor's resolution 1440 x 900. Yes? If you are using a macbook pro are there any options or workarounds for this?

ahh.. stupid me. leave it to apple to make the solution maddeningly simple. you want 16:9 video - record in landscape mode. duh!
Neither here nor there but i would LOVE a phyiscal button camera trigger. Loved it on Camera+ until they disabled it.

Video Recorder Sound Issue

Hi all,
Not sure if my gripe is with my phone or this is a design/production flaw with the phone but when I use the video recorder, the sound is prett lame. I tried a couple times recording my TV and the playback is almost inaudible. Is this normal? I have the volume of the TV to "normal" that's at a comfortable level when I have the TV on and I know this is all relative, but you'll have to trust me when I have it at a comfortable level where anyone who does not have an ear issue can easily hear.

I just did a security wipe and removed all my data and it got stuck on the tutorial page right before you can actually use your playbook. I than held down the volume + and - and power key. To reset the Tablet and every now works
My issue is solved I think, hope this helps anyone having a similiar problems.
Also, if anyone has any ideas why this is happening I would be curious to know.

Iphone 6 video recording problem

I've had a 128gb Iphone 6 since release day, the slo-mo and video recording worked fine initially and then I noticed a problem.
if I try to record a video in normal or slo-mo mode it will start recording fine and then I can't end the video by pressing stop or either of the volume buttons.
The only way to get out of it ta to press the home button and then close the application, but the video will not be saved.
This just happened with snapchat also and I've had a replacement 6 from the Apple Store for this problem but it's happened again!
I tried a full restore through iTunes and still have the same problem.
Anyone found a solution to this?

Raise to speak with Siti does just as provided - when you raise the iPhone up to or towards your face, Siri is activated.
When you turn off Raise to Speak, you must press the Home button to activate Siri.
Since you called Siri stupid, seems you are a prime candidate to turn Raise to Speak off. If not, stupid Siri will continue to ask you want you want to do when your iPhone is raised up to or towards your face.

My iPhone 4 wont record sound on the Video Camera. It sounds muffled.

Today, I was trying to record a video but when I was reviewing it i notice that the sound was all muffled like if I was covering the microphone. So I took of my OtterBox Defender Case but that wasnt the problem at all. I tried blowing on both microphones that didnt work I tried cleaning it out with a cotton swab but no luck! Please help me someone!

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have gone through ALL the above steps and are still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation.

Help please! iphone 5 video recording problem

i have a 16gb iphone and only 3 apps downloaded (and still available space). only 7 photos and no videos on my camera roll. why are my vids not recording all of a sudden??? i've had this phone for 6 weeks and it's been great, now videos wont record at all. i have filmed vids for over 10 minutes (and of course deleted them off my camera roll after i was done filming). why is it not recording when there's still space on my phone?

Iphone 4 video recording but no audio...

Hi,
I am a long-term user of Apple products and generally know how to trouble-shoot.
But, my iPhone has recently stopped recording audio when recording video when using the Camera App.
All other audio recording (talking on the phone, memo recording etc) is totally fine, so I don't think it's a problem with the microphone.
I have tried to search but am finding the new discussion interface to be totally useless in returning relevant "conversations"...
Anyway, if anyone can offer ideas as to possible issues/problems I'd be most appreciative.

OK...Try this, it just worked for me...
1. Get some headphones and plug em in
2. Play sum tunes on ur phone and ensure you can hear them thru the phones
3. adjust volume and when you see the volume bar, set it to the very middle (just for clarity)
4. Unplug de phones
5. You should see the volume bar jump to the left - adjust it and hey presto!
I figure I managed to mute it by accident, but for some reason the volume bar for the internal speakers and expternal speakers are two different things.

I have the same cable and the component (same connectors but 5 of them vs. composite's 3 (where 2 being audio))
both my composite and component works with my tv with both my ipod touch 3g iphone4 and ipad2
composite really is the lowests quality format guess it's because of the resolution that it support that it does not support mirror
and the reason iphone4 does not support mirror is because it's video chip don't support converting what it display into H.264 in realtime same reason why only newer macs support airplay mirror too

IPhone 5 isn't recording sound

My iPhone 5 stopped recording sound on videos -- I think after I installed ios7. I don't have a screen protector covering the mic. It's recorded sound before, just stopped after the install. Any fixes out there?

Have a look over the following suggestions, especially if you are using a protective case on the iPhone (as video recording audio utilizes the microphone near the camera. If this is blocked, it may be the issue).

In FaceTime or video recording, verify that both the mic in the receiver opening and the mic near the rear camera are not blocked.
In speakerphone mode and using the phone with the display:
- Face up, verify that the mic in the receiver opening is not blocked.
- Face down, verify that the mic near the rear camera is not blocked.
In handset mode, make sure the bottom mic near the headset jack is not blocked.
All models
- If a protective case is used, try removing iPhone from the case.
- Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
