IPhone 4 Wi-Fi really S L O W...

Not sure what is going on here but did a test of my Wi-Fi speeds on my new iPhone 4 and this is what I'm getting (after repeated tests using the speedtest app): around 1mbps download but almost 5mbps upload...my line at home is a 16mbps download speed so what's up with this 1mbps speed for the download?
I tested speedtest.net on my computer and it's pushing to almost 20mbps for the download so something is going on with this iPhone for such low speeds over Wi-Fi...heck the 3G speed is faster on the download then my Wi-Fi is. Makes no sense.
Any ideas?

I know wifi is wifi... It's always a good way to test. Regarding the problem of antenna, I have this problem on my iPhone 4, but wifi is working fine. Not speed as my computer for opening a page, but It's more speed than 3G.
Anyway, If It is a antenna problem, you can test the wifi without touching phone (if you don't already do this !) If It's the same than holding the phone, you will know that the antenna is not the problem (for you !

Thank you very much for your reply gdgmacguy :) I did all you suggested apart from restore as new device . Didn't know I could do that . After restore I did restore from back up only, as I didn't want to end up without contacts details on my phone. If I restore as new device how do I get my all contacts? Still will have to use back up? Sorry if it sounds like I don't know what i am doing, i just have no one to ask who would know. Thank you

IPHONE 5s Battery Draining Really Fast

Hi, I have a Iphone 5s. The phone charges really slow, and dies really fast. I am barely on it now since this happen. I tried restoring at home, and also resetting. I took a trip to Apple two days ago, and they ran the diagnostic. He said the battery is healthy but something is wrong with the firmware or software. After he restored it but it still is doing the SAME thing. Could I fix this issue?

Take it back to the Apple store and tell them that didn't fix the issue. You might have a hardware issue. Before you take it back though do a backup on your computer.

IPhone 4 battery drains really fast and phone gets really hot

I have an iPhone 4 and since November 15 my battery has been draining really fast and gets really hot when I use the phone. When I try to charge the phone with my computer it doesn't charge, but only charges with the wall hub. I have tried deleting the email accounts, deleting all apps, restoring with the backup, restoring without the backup, and still no luck. I went to the Apple store and they briefly looked at it and said it had water damage by looking at the water damage indicator in the charging port. They told me I needed to pay $150 for a new phone. I don't recall getting my phone getting wet and it seems to work fine except for the battery drain and the computer charging problem. iTunes still recognizes the phone. I thought it was a battery problem so I ordered a new battery and replaced it myself and the battery was still draining fast. When I had the phone open the other water damage indicators were still white (no water damage), it was just the charging port indicator that was red (water damaged). Also, when I charge my phone with the wall hub it charges very slowly. I have ran out of ideas and I could really use some suggestions. Thank you.

i looked on the right there is no solution to my problem.i charge my phone to 100% after 2 hours with no usage at all of the phone with 3G off with wifi off with all applications shut down all notifications and locations off battery goes down to 50% when it was running on the older ios never had this problem in my iphone.when will this problem solved

Iphone 5 activation - I really dont know what to do, not on a developer account

Hey everyone, I lost my iphone 5 and recently found it, when i went to update it to ios7.0.4 it says I have an activation error, in the summer my brother convinced me to put the ios7 beta on and now it wont let me update to the legitimate version. Please help, really need to get my phone working!

Created an app not able to see it on iPhone Apple Support is REALLY POOR

My company created an iPhone application about 2-3 months ago. It has been accepted by Apple Online (where you submit it) but it is not viewable in any iPhone. When you ask apple support they just send you a reply back with a link that does NOT help.
You will not believe I have sent approximately 20 emails to ALL of Apple's support email and even rang them a couple of times but there is no one who knows what they are doing. No one helps, everyone replies back with that link in the email. Even if you tell them what you have done and ask them for what else is requored as the link is not able to help us they will still reply you back wit the same email.
I was hoping that with such a big company like Apple they would have hired some educated people who know what they are doing or at least reply you back with some helpful solutions.
For the past 2 months they have given me a run around and no help at all. Does anyone know where I can complaint about Apple? Or does anyone know who can help me out with this type of a problem. I mean come on, the application was developed by my professional IT team who has been in IT for over 10 years and have developed numerous applications.
Please someone help me out on this one. This is very important. I am very tired of emailing Apple over and over again and getting EXACTLY the same reply back all the time. I mean do they even read your emails or do they just send you back like a ROBOT what is already in the system i.e. Automatically Set Emails.
I am sorry If I am rude but even the director of the company had a good run around because of this. Is this really professional of apple support team?

I Was Told About an iPhone 4s Case that Really...

In an Apple Forum I posted about a protective but not limiting case since I have trouble with dropping, hitting, etc. expensive things like large phones. Someone told me about a case, said he was thinking about getting one, did not sound too excieted about it, but I saw it at Best Buy and after looking for a year for a practical, case I could tell that this one was going to do what I needed in a case. In this group of cases one really stood out but if it helps there was one that was like a holster. I have got a major problem when I am carrying something like an expensive phone, laptop, etc. I drop them (my first MBP, it had to go back to Apple because I cracked the display costing me an additional $1000 just from jitting it by accident against the wall) I wish I could remember the name of this case. I came here hoping someone would say it because I was so excieted when I saw it, like I said after looking for a year, I could tell that this one was going to help me out a lot save the phone from being ruined after the first week. Yea Otter is OK but it seems like it would collect more dirt than anything else, this one just really felt to me that it would allow me to not have the iphone destroyed in a month.
It was not fancy, but so practical. Anyway, I will see if someone says the name of it.
I am looking to get a new iPhone 4S (guess why?) and my contract at Verizon was up a year ago. I see that ATT advertises that only AT&T's Network let's your iPhone 4S download 3 times faster? Is this true?

Which lifeproof case did you get? Does it look pro along with being super durable? I need one that I can take into meetings and leave it out on the desk along with it being super durable like the ones on Ballistic Case Co.com.
Do you have invisibleshield or can't you use that with your case? some of the durable cases have their own cover so they do not allow the invisible shield to be used.
Do you have a clip for your pants or to clip the case somewhere else?
I think why they don't get better ratings is not because they are super durable and take care of the iPhone but because they are not the best looking case out there including ones like some on the Ballistic Case Co.com website. I have heard people say that they look cheap, like a cheap plastic. I actualy started this post awhile back and I forgot the name but one night it came to me. I am still looking for a case that has the durability like LifeProof but a tad better looking and more professional. Hard to explain if you don't see that but that is why I have not purchased one yet is because I need a case like LifeProof but more professional looking lie the ones at BallisticCaseCo.com. IPhone 4 does not really support MJPEG?

iPhone 4 tech specs claim that it supports Motion JPEG videos.
However, *iTunes refuses to copy any MJPEG video to my iPhone 4*. If I try to drag them, it says "<file> was not copied to the iPhone <name> because it cannot be played on this iPhone". If I sync a photo folder with "Include videos" checked, it just ignores those videos.
The videos are in exactly the format listed in the iPhone tech specs: "Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format".
They play perfectly in both QuickTime Player and VLC. QuickTime movie inspector says they are "Motion JPEG OpenDML, 1280x720, Millions; u-law 2:1, Stereo, 44.100 kHz", frame rate 30.00 fps.
All of my software is up to date. iPhone 4.2.1, iTunes 10.1.1.4, QuickTime 7.6.9, Windows XP Pro SP3.
I've tried smaller video sizes (640x480). I've tried both dragging and syncing. No joy. MPEG4 videos transfer no problem, but not MJPEG.
What's the deal? Does my iPhone 4 really support MJPEG videos? If so, how the heck can I transfer them?
I hate to say it, but MJPEG support is looking like blatant false advertising by Apple.

cls24 -- Click on the "iPhone" tab at the top of this page, then the "Tech Specs" link at top right. Voila. MJPEG support. This would be very handy if it worked since our cameras shoot both high-def and standard-def MJPEG.
Monty1945 -- It would be very helpful to know:
1) Exactly how did you transfer your "old M-JPEG files" to the iphone?
2) Exactly what file format (eg avi, mov) and video/audio codecs (use Movie Inspector in Quicktime Player) did those files use?
Otherwise, I have to assume you are remembering incorrectly, because I have tried MANY different combinations of codecs, formats, and fourCCs to get this to work. It simply doesn't.
Has anyone else tried to put their MJPEG videos on their iPhone 4, and found that it doesn't work?

I do not understand how that works, and what's the difference between Edge & Wi-Fi and also how i can connect to Wi-Fi because i am really lost ;o( lol

Will try to keep this in simple terms.
Edge is just a fancy name AT&T has for it's service.
If you are using your phone and see the E next to your signal strength, you are on Edge. This means you can email, browse the web, send SMS etc.
Pretty much just means your phone will work.
WiFi is a term from the computer world mainly. For many homes that have internet access, people have bought Wireless Routers to plug into their cable/dsl modems that will broadcast a wireless signal (WIFI) so other computers with a wireless card can connect to their home network and browse the web all sharing the same connection. Laptops with WiFi cards in them can also go to places like Panera Bread, Starbucks, bookstores, etc that offer free WiFi (those places setup a wireless router(s) just like people at their homes did) but they expose them publicly to anybody within range (usually within the store or just outside is the range).
Your iPhone has a WiFi card in it. So if you have setup a wireless network at home, you can jump on it and thus browse the web and send emails (and shop on iTunes) from your phone at Broadband speeds (which is faster than using Edge).
If you have never setup a wireless network at home, then really all you can do is use free spots (or friends homes that set one up).
WiFi simply means you are jumping onto a wireless network that is nearby (not everywhere) to gain broadband speeds to using internet related features of your phone. And WiFi is only available where you find a WiFi hotspot or set one up yourself.
Edge is the AT&T network that lets you make calls as well as all the other internet related features (just slower). And Edge is available anywhere in the AT&T coverage.

I restore and reset it and it really really really blurry. Everything works fine, i drop it and it was not blurry. Two days later my brother said its messed up. If its broken where do I send it to and if I could trade for a new 3G iphone.

You need to call AppleCare (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.
Your iPhone remains under warranty, unless you have done something to your iPhone that voids the warranty. You will not be able to trade this iPhone in for an iPhone 3G. If AppleCare or an Apple Store makes the determination that your iPhone needs to be exchange, you will be provided a first generation iPhone for the exchange.
The answer to this question will not change no matter how many times you ask it.
