Iphone 4s battery is dying so quickly!!!

I bought my iphone 4s on Friday Nov 4th but since then the batter is just dying so quickly. I am not using the applications which can drain my battery, did all the recommended changes on the apps but still no luck. Should I return the phone?

Only you can decide what's best for you. If you're not happy, return it. If you think you can wait for a few weeks until the fix is here, then do that.

First, please don't put any of your contacts on this thread.
If you want to reinstall iOS5 and start from Scratch then do this.
1. Open your itunes.
2. Connect your iphone to your computer
3. Once connected, click on your iphone (located on the left window).
4. Click Restore
5. It will Restore
6. Once complete, Set up as new phone.
*As for number 6, if you set up as new phone, everything in your phone is lost and is pretty much like the way you got it out of the box.

In the past month or so my iPhone 5 battery is dying in hours, whereas it used to last all day at least. Also, I am getting constant "message send failures" when texting and frequent dropped phone calls.

Just recently my Iphone 5 battery is dying in a just a few hours, it used to last all day or more. I'm not doing anything different with it, although I have started shutting down apps etc. to conserve battery. I get constant "message send failures and frequently dropped phone calls.

My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

EOS rebel T2i battery is dying really quick. Is there a setting that uses the battery?

I replaced my battery in my 2 year old rebel T2i because the battery started dying a lot sooner. The new battery didn't last much longer. I have the "Auto Power Off" setting to 30 seconds. Is there another setting that will keep the battery / camera on or is there some other problem? OR, is there a way to reboot the system to factory defaults? Thanks.

I did a search at images.google.com for "canon t2i menu" and noticed that I can find versions with 2 yellow wrenches as well as 3 yellow wrenches.

The instructions are on page 144 -- but it definitely shows that it's the 3rd wrench tab based on that manual.
This many be related to firmware version.

Updating firmware is fairly easy but they DO want you to have a freshly charged battery (and you said your battery is dying "really quick" -- not sure how long that actually is. It takes just a few minutes to apply new firmware but it would be bad if the camera died before the update completed.

IPhone 5 battery is dying

So it seems my iPhone 5 battery is dying. I bought the phone in 2012 December so I was wondering is it still under warranty as I believe there should be 2 years warranty for consumer electronics in Europe but I might be wrong.

bom619, I know the importance of enjoying the most battery life of your iPhone 5.. When you check the Battery Usage (Settings > General > Usage> Battery Usage) and Data usage (Settings > Cellular) which applications/function are shown with the most usage. Have there been any recent applications or updates in software to the phone when this issue began? Please share details so we can look into this for you.

Iphone 5 battery keeps dying! Will apple charge me a lot??

Iphone 5 is just out of warranty and the battery keeps dying so fast! So from 70% it dies and then have to wait ten minutes for it to come back on! To then have the percentage at 1%!!! So disappointed with apple. Will they charge me for a new battery???

If out of warranty, yes, they will probalby charge you.
Try restoring the device as new, i.e. without your backup.

My Iphone 5's battery is dying too quickly.

I have an iphone 5 and for the past 3 days the battery has been draining way too quickly even on standby. I did system restore and the problem cured for a few hours. Also the phone has been heating up a lot too lately. First I thought its because its in my case than I left it out in room temperature and the phone heated the same way. It heats most when its connected to its charger which isn't charging the phone to 100%, only 99%. I have sprint and I have not ever been able to send picture messages with the iphone 5. Sprint says everything is fine on their end and Apple says the same. I had an iphone 4s before and that was perfect compared to this and I paid full price for this iphone 5 64GB. I feel like I got a bad phone. Any one else having this problem too?

After waiting a month for my iphone it finally came in last wednesday and same thing with mine. I don't even go on it that much to save it and the battery percent goes down by the minute.. Is it just my phone or is it a software problem? I have had my iphone 3g for 3 years and my battery lasted throughout the day even on it's last leg. Nickstro, the same is happening to me. Ever since I uploaded ios7 to my iPhone 4S the battery has been running down at an alarming rate. I just left it for about an hour on my desktop and it lost 23% battery. I wasn't even using it.
I've tried restarting it but no change. I've turned off everything that could be dragging the memory down too, such as push notifications and instant App updates. I'm at a loss as to its cause. Is it the new software?

Location services is NOT running all the time, only when the arrow appears in the message bar. It is not a major consumer of power unless you are actively using it (such as using the Maps app), and even then it is a minor factor in battery life; loading maps is the big user of power in the Maps app. And turning off Location Services defeats Find my iPhone.
There are only 2 heavy battery consumers, cellular data and interactive games. Everything else (bluetooth, location services, WiFi, etc) are tiny in comparison to these and will not make a significant difference in battery life.

Ipod touch 4 Battery life dying very quickly, not iOS5 problem

Basically my battery is showing 100% for a 20 second period when i change songs or try to play games it goes down by 5 to 10 percent every 35 seconds once it gets low enough it goes back up to maybe 50 % when i lock it and go back to the music menu it show 80 or 70%...
And when i want to charge the ipod it shows 6% and my ipod dies and doesn't start it recharges to 100% in about 30 minutes and so on, i know this isn't normal is there a fix for it, i tried playing music until it died but it still charged back to 100% in 30 minutes.. This is really starting to **** me off!

first of all i dont recomend backing up your phone on iCloud, it takes up alot of space, i recomend you back up your phone on your computer, and NO icloud does not constantly back up your iphone on the cloud.
Then make sure you dont have the brightness maxed out, put it on 1/3 of the bar
make sure Bluetooth is turned off
when you dont use an application close it, and i mean completely close it (double click the home button, hold your finger on the application and press the red STOP button that will apear on the top-right corner of the application)
this should improve the battery life.

Iphone 5 battery keeps dying permanently

I have an unusual problem. Iphone 5 (64gb, unlocked) dies (no response to charging, reset, etc.), I replace battery, it works for a brief while, then dies permanently again. This happened twice already. Phone is just outside the 1-year warranty period. I can't justify paying $269 for repair. Should I replace another component? Where could the problem be, the main board? Any input would be appreciated.

I replaced the battery twice already (kits bought on Amazon). Do you think that a battery placed by Apple will solve the issue? It seems like the issue goes beyond the battery. Something in the phone keeps killing the battery.
