IPhone 5 black / scratch/scuffs
Hello , i wan't to buy an iphone 5 black from UK LONDON APPLE STORE , but i am afraid to buy a blackone because i saw video in which sides are strach fast , or have dots/scuffs. I saw video with iphone 5 black unboxing and it was sctrach... it scratch the sides freally fast when i put my phone in my pocket without case ? If i buy it and the phone is scratch will replace? Or if it will scratch in a month it will replace? for safety buy an white one?That phone scratch was the first lot ? The newone is good quality? Sorry for bad english. Need some guidance...
If you purchase a brand-new iPhone and it has cosmetic damage out of the box, take pictures and then contact the seller.
Just put a case on the device, and you'll never have to look at scatches. It's a mobile device; it's going to get scratches. I guarantee you that your car has visible scratches somewhere after the first month of use. Same for pretty much everything in life.

i often come across blogs on the internet saying the iphone 5 black gets scratched a lot! i dont wanna put an ugly case of a sctarch guard on my iphone's back. the scratch guards tend to reflect the flash's light when taking pics with flash on, which over exposes the pictures.
so anyway, i called up apple care guys and they said the problem of scratches is solved.
can i just use my iphone 5 without haivng to worry about its beautiful aluminum back getting scratched?

You make me look stupid! Lol. Obviously I know that putting it through the extremities would cause damange but I am talking about general use. Last thing I want to know if there is a scratch on it because of the ring I wear!
What I have heard is of the black one being extremely sensitive. Today, a guy from a nearby apple service center asked me to get a bumper cause, he said, the side aluminium gets bent if u accidently drop the iphone 5.
i have dropped my iphone 3g and 4 several times but this was never an issue. so was just asking about 'general use'. thanks anyway for ur reply.

i put my phone straight into a belkin case that leaves the top and bottom edges exposed. It looks like the anodised aluminium loses it anodisedness (not a word) pretty quickly, the very edge of the aluminium has lost its colour.
Oh and I'm still hunting for a charging dock that apple says I don't need.

IPhone 5 Black Bezel & Scratches
Can anybody who attended the iPhone 5 launch comment on the iPhone 5 black bezel.
I am thinking of ordering the black version tomorrow but I am conscious that when scratched, the bezel will show silver marks.
I don't want to use a cover and meticulously look after my phone, the the odd bump is inevitable.I've only had my black iPhone 5 for a few days now, and I already have chips in the new, shiny, "highly-polished" chamfers (or bezels). I dropped it onto a smooth tile floor while bending over to pick something else up. It only dropped less than one foot and some of the shiny black chamfer chipped off. Now I have a few silver marks on the edges. Needless to say, I immediately put it into a case. If I could order it again, I would get the white/silver one. I love the color of the black phone, but I don't think that it will stand up to "normal" daily wear- it is just too fragile. Luckily, I had screen protectors on the front and back, or else I'm sure that I would have scratches on the aluminum back. This is my 3rd iPhone, and the first time that I have ever put a mark or scratch on one. The previous models (3GS, 4S) were much more durable in my opinion. I didn't even put cases on them, and I still did not scratch them.

After buying the ipad mini black and the iphone 5 black i am unimpressed at how easy the black colour scratches compared to the white I want to complain to apple because if I had of bought the white I wouldn't have this problem !!!

iPhone 6 Black 16GB
I've had my iPhone 6 since two days after it came out and after a month, I've noticed (and I mean really noticed) there are hairline scratches all over the screen! I had a 5 for 18 months before that, plus a 4 another 18 months prior, and I never got any noticeable scratches on them. I haven't changed the way I use my phone - no I don't use a screen protector or even a case, but I've always avoided laying the handset on its front and have kept it in a pocket separate from keys/coins etc. So if nothing's changed there, I can only assume its the phone!!
Took it into my local Apple Store today but didn't get any solid answers. Just that I could swap the handset for an additional £200 or buy a screen protector and have it fitted for £20.
Anyone else having issues with this? I don't know whether I'd like it to be a design fault or just a defect with my particular handset. Either way I'm really not satisfied with this!I have exactly the same problem. Noticed after a few weeks, the glass is covered in tiny scratches. Always took care of the phone, this is really insulting after dishing out that much money for that phone, and having the screen look like crap. Steve would've never let this out into production. Maybe Mr. Cook can spend less time on LGBT causes, and more time making sure the product has the right quality components? Or is it that these guys have made so much money, that a basic user environment reliability test isn't high on their agenda?

hello, i have updated my iphone 5 black 16 gb to ios 7.0.2 (11a501) and my battery life of my iphone has become worse it gives 9 hours of usage with out doing anything, i have done everything every tip that is available online i had 3gs and 4s so i know how to save battry life,i even tried not using my iphone as well but still no change at all!. i have upadted to ios 7.0.3 then downgraded it , i thought battery may be an issue ,so i put brand new battery still no change , so what should i do ? , update to the latest version which is ios 7.0.4 or wait for the ios 7.1 , i was using iphone 4s running on ios 6.1 it gave me 3 days of battery timing , iphone 5 seemed to be very bad for me ,help ! ?
its facory unlocked btwTry to do a reset, if it doesn't work try remove recently added apps this may solve your problem ( like google app because it has happened with me)
Take a look at apps using your location service in privacy, it can cause battery draining. -

Last Friday, the broken glass of my phone g3 replaced. Since then, remains the screen of my iphon regular black. The battery is not empty. By the restart I get my phone back to life. It always comes back sooner. The last 24 hours 3x. Is there a solution?
Since Apple doesn't repair iPhones (they replace them) you will have to take it back to whoever "fixed" it. Since it's been opened by an unauthorized 3rd party, it is no longer eligible for replacement by Apple.

Why are you throwing away any future chances of out of warranty replacements when you drop or drown it? Apple will give you a warranteed replacement phone for $199 (in the US, roughly the same in your country) -
IPhone 5 - black model paint problem
Dear apple community!
I have iPhone 5 black model and edge color was chipped off after very carefull usage! If the paint chips this easy now what's my phone gonna look like in a years time after being in and out of my pocket, car keys, kids getting hold of it... It looks like anything could chip the paint. So my question is what kind of paint or marker I can use to repaint the edge of iPhone and hide that paint chips. I tried with black permanent marker but it comes off easy. Plase give me some advice because I'm desperate sad and disappointed. My new black iPhone 5 looks like trash with that silver dots. Thank you apple once again...In the same location as on the white model, just to the left of the front facing camera.
