IPhone 5 dead after scree replacement

I smashed my iPhone screen but the phone was dead I taken it to the phone shop they said it was connecting to iTunes so I got my screen replaced and brought a third party charger but there was no life not even screen said it wanted charger so I clean the charger port and dfu mode but no life
Please help me !

Take it back to the "phone shop".  Your phone is completely unsupportable by Apple now that the "phone shop" worked on your phone.

  • Where do broken iPhone screens go after Apple replaces them?

Was just wondering where do broken iPhone screens go after Apple replaces them
Our business buys them back from non-official iPhone repair centers but it seems Apple stores don't have the authority (for good cause) to sell to a company like ours. Regardless, I was wondering what Apple might do with them as I'm sure it's tens of thousands a week if they added up from all of their locations in just the US alone.

I always assumed they went to Apple Heaven.

Did you try resetting> - press both home and on/off buttons for AT LEAST 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

  • IPhone 5 dead after July 2014 update

MY iPhone 5 is dead after update. Apple has no answers but to sell me a new phone.  Any good advice ?

After last update battery drained within a few hours, same after recharge.  Apple told me I have a dead battery and would replace same model for $260 (sorry, that is not small change and I live 3 hours from next Apple store).  Therefore had a local cyberstore install a new battery, however it drained just like the original.  Any different advice?  I understand that my options with the Apple store may be over since I let the cyberstore touchy it.
Yup, since Cyberstore performed unauthorized service on the device, the warranty for your iPhone has been voided, and that even includes the $79 battery replacement option from Apple or the $269 Out of Warranty option from Apple.
You have a paperweight now.  Sell it for parts to someone that performs unauthorized service, like Cyberstore.  Maybe they'll use it for parts to void another person's iPhone.
Next time, don't get unauthorized service done on your iPhone.

You may need to try this More than Once...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

  • HT4623 iphone went dead after update

    iphone went black after update

Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to respond. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. If still problems, try DFU Mode Restore. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power button, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time.

  • IPhone 5 dead after updating to iOS 8.0.2

After updating from 7.1.2 to 8.0.2, my iPhone 5 cannot charge and is not recognized by my Mac.  All original cables.   After 24 hours, the battery is dead, so there is no way to even find a solution by restoring or anything.  It is a brick.  If I were to replace the battery by myself, I still would not know how to proceed, software-wise, as not able to downgrade back to 7.1.2 (where everything was fine) and not sure of iOS 8.1 fixes any of this.
Any ideas welcome.  Been surfing the web for weeks and still no solution found.

Hi!  I always reset my network setting after every update of iOS because of the battery drain.  I did the same for iOS 8.02, but to no effect.  The problems I am experiencing are:
    1. battery drain - just around 4hrs of regular use instead of 8hrs
    2. the phone lags even when answering calls
    3. frequent signal drops and the phone heating up
    4. reset by itself yesterday while i was switching between apps
I also updated an iPad mini first gen, but has no problem so far.

  • IPhone 5S dead after latest (OS 7.0.6) update.

Just tried installing the new software upgrade, 7.0.6 and now my phone won't reboot. How do I get it back on?

Anyone whose phone is bricked after this update and unable to be restored via DFU mode, etc: speak with a manager at an Apple Store, or better, call tech support and get connected to a Senior Advisor!
After my first trip to the Apple Store, where I was told I'd have to buy a costly replacement, I called up Apple Tech Support at 800-692-7753. I was connected with someone who ran me through all the steps I'd already tried (hard reset, DFU mode), and then asked to be put through to their manager, as my issue was the result of Apple's update and I wanted to report this. After hearing that the update bricked my phone, he put in a free out-of-warranty repair/replacement attached to my case number (Customer Satisfaction Code). I went back to the store with my case number, and about 40 minutes later walked out with a new replacement iPhone 4S.

  • IPhone 5s dead after iOS 7.0.6 update

I started the update running over night and have woken up to a dead iPhones 5s.
I've had found a couple other people gad exactly the same problem. I've tried the "power and home button" reset to no avail. Tried charging and tried connecting to my iTunes on my MacBook, all no result.
    Any ideas?

I know you have tried holding home+power button in order to reset your phone, but how long have you been holding those buttons? Try holding them for at least 30seconds and see if anything happens. If it doesnt, there's a possibility that your iphones logic board died, but I'm not sure. If that's the case, you should take your iphone 5s to an apple store since it is probably still under warranty, and they will replace/fix it for you. Hope I helped. Cheers

  • IPhone 4 Dead after i0S 4.3 update went wrong.

So after finally getting round to downloading and installing 4.3 (haven't updated the iOS at all since getting it last July) I find out I can't download more than 80% or so of the update without the connection "timing out". Note, no other problems downloading large files using the same connection.
I then downloaded the iOS from a different source (macworld) and the update seems to run smootly until it gets to the "verifying your update with Apple" point at which I get a  "the update could not be completed error 3194 message"
Getting pretty annoyed at this point and decide to go for a hard reset and restore after saving all my purchases to see if that makes a difference (by holding the home and power keys for 10 secs then letting go of the power key) and the iPhone's screen turns black.
It's completely dead now and I can't use it at all.
If I try to restore the phone I am in the same situation as before as iTunes will only allow me to restore if I download and install the latest iOS. I can't download it via iTunes, and I can't install it if I get it elsewhere.
    Any ideas?

Disabling firewall software during the update is what the regulars on this forum recommend when having problems accessing Apple's servers. And it does sound like you do.

  • Pismo almost dead after part replacement!

Hi everybody! This is my first post in the Apple Discussion forums. I have a Pismo 400mhz running Xubuntu Dapper. It's battery has refused to work since I got it, so I got a replacement for Christmas. This battery, however, also refused to work. After doing some research, I ended up replacing the power card (the one that also has the mouse button). I took it apart and removed the old card, and replaced it with the new one when it arrived 3 days later.
Now, the Pismo refuses to finish booting unless I reset the PMU each time, if I don't it does it's chime and I can can hear the hard drive spin up, but nothing appears on the monitor, and I have to shut it off. If I reset it and it starts up, Xubuntu gets stuck saying "Waiting for the root filesystem", and several minutes later gives me several lines of "Segmentation Fault", followed by a shell prompt.
So, I'm pretty sure it's a RAM problem, but it has two modules, and I've tried each one separately in both slots. It seems highly unlikely to me that both could go bad at the same time. Any thoughts?
I've tried running the Apple Hardware Test CD, either button takes half a second to complete instead of actually running. The hardware info tab freezes the computer instantly.
Sorry that went on so long!

    SphereCat1:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Unfortunately, I am totally unfamiliar with Xubuntu, and anything that has to do with it is beyond my sphere of familiarity. However, we can try to deal with the hardware side of your issue. First some questions for clarification:
battery has refused to work since I got it, so I got a replacement for Christmas.
By new do you mean a brand new battery, or a new used battery?
replacing the power card (the one that also has the mouse button)
The trackpad button is housed in the upper case and is connected via cable to the I/O logic board. Are you saying that you removed and replaced the logic board? If so, what indicated that that was necessary?
it does it's chime and I can can hear the hard drive spin up, but nothing appears on the monitor, and I have to shut it off.
The issue may be related to the internal HDD. You have apparently been able to boot from the optical drive using the AHT disk. Startup issues of this type are usually software based issues. Since the computer starts up and chimes and starts booting the OS, it appears that the hardware is doing what it should. Again, unfortunately, I am completely at sea with the software issue.
I'm pretty sure it's a RAM problem, but it has two modules, and I've tried each one separately in both slots.
What is the basis of your being "pretty sure it's a RAM problem"? The Pismo will support 2 - PC-100 3.3V 144-pin SO-DIMM modules up to 512 MB each. Be sure that the RAM modules you have meet those specs. Even though it seems unlikely, it is possible that you have two bad modules. You may want to try a different one if you are convinced the issue is with the RAM modules.

  • Iphone 3g dead after installing dual level

    Hi all,
    this is really anoying.
I installed ( or tried to) the application "dual level" from appstore.
Then my IPHONE suddenly rebootet but it did not come up again.
The screen shows the apple logo in the middle but nothing happes .
I pressed the home button and the "standby button" on top to force a reboot - but still the same:
After it went down, the apple logo shows up but nothing happes further
Any suggestions ? I need my phone urgendly
    tia

First do not connect THROUGH a usb hub. Make a direct connection into one of your computers usb2.0 ports. Now try holding the wake/sleep button or standby button as one of you called it, and the home button until the iTunes logo and the usb connetor cable apear on the screen. This will put the phone in recovery mode. Itunes should then recognize it.
If that one doesn't work. Try getting to power off. Then with it plugged in still directly! Hold the wake/sleep button for five seconds. While still holding the wake/sleep button hold the home button for five seconds. Then realease the wake/sleep button and remain holding the home button. Itunes should recognize it in DFU mode.
Restart your computer before you try those though, just to be sure your computer isn't acting stupid. They like to do that at times. Mostly when you are really not in the mood for it!

  • PB 1400 dead after PRAM replacement

    Hey all,
My PB 1400 is unresponsive. After replacing an old PRAM battery, it won't power up, won't boot, won't anything. The little green power indicator on the display comes on, and stays on. It will only go off when I press and hold the reset button; and when I let go, the light comes back on. Other than that - nothing happens.
It doesn't matter how often, or how long, I press the power button or the reset button, the powerbook does nothing. No startup chime, no nothing...little green light, and that's all.
The powerbook worked fine before the PRAM replacement. It's not likely that the PRAM battery itself is the problem, since I replaced it a second time, with the same result.
    Someone please help?

Did you get the GLOD worked out?
I wrote the website pbreadme.com, and I found something on there that may help you. Although it is on the pb 2400c page, it might work for the 1400.
Here is a snippet from the page:
To solve the GLOD or problem:
    1. GREEN LIGHT (constantly lit)
    a) Disconnect the AC adapter
    b) Pull Lion battery out
    c) Reconnect AC
    d) Reset Power Manager button by depressing it for at least 40 seconds
-battery out with AC connected results in resetting Power Manager.
    2. NO LIGHT (hitting Power key results in faint click)
    a) Disconnect AC adapter
    b) Pull Lion battery out
    c) Reset Power Manager button by depressing it for at least 40 seconds. This should work: if this doesn't work, reconnect AC adapter and repeat PM reset, always with battery out.

  • IPhone 3g dead after iOS 4.1 update

Hi All, like many I waited to update my iPhone 3g to update from 3.1.3 to 4.0.x.
So yesterday I did perform the update. Everything went well, iOS 4.1 was in my iPhone, but when iTunes started to sync my personal data back, the connection got lost and the iPhone rebooted itself. It kept doing that during data sync. So I restored the iPhone with new firmware, but the same problem occurred during the new firmware load.
Now it only boots in recovery mode and every time I want to recover my iPhone, it reboots you see a progress bar on the iPhone, but the iTunes comes with an error 2. There is no way the iPhone can be restored now. I tried 2 versions of iTunes 9 and 10. I try setting it in dfu mode and restore, but no luck.
    I never jailbreaked my iPhone!
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick
I have an iPhone4. I tried upgrading to os4.1. Had the exact problem like you had. I thought I bricked the phone. But I got it come back to life eventually. Here is how I did
I used a program called tiny umbrella. I clicked start TSS server then clicked kick out of dfu mode(please check wording for similar ones. I cannot remember exact name from top oft head. But it is below the start tsp server area). Then magic happened the phone reboot and starts like normal. But all my app installed was lost. Luckily all contacts emails messages were retained. That is very lucky! Hope that helps.

  • Iphone 4s dead after attempted download of 7.2.1 update

I attempted to download the 7.2.1 update via itunes in the usual manner. It started out as normal, but then my phone froze on the iamge of the apple and status bar, showing that there is a bout a 6th of the update time left. The status bar doesn't move. I can't turn the phone off, and it doesn't react when I press the button. This has lasted an hour. On my computer screen, itunes claims that the phone software is 'up to date' with 7.2.1 successfully downloaded.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
