That error is usually a hardware error. Make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and have it checked.

Why is firefox updating for hours and why so often?
Other people have this same question with no replies or means to solve. Updating forever and for hours but mine does seem to be progressing through the new versions and is up to 6. Just keep answering ask later and figure I'll just update monthly for hours
Something is apparently screwed up with updates on Mac OSX. You are now 4 versions behind the current 6.0.2 version (5.0.1 which was specifically for Mac, 6.0, 6.0.1, and 6.0.2).

I've got myself a new iphone 5s and I tried to update itunes. Now its telling me that this copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly Please reinstall itunes.I'm not good with computers so any help would be great.I'm scared if i reinstall i will lose everythig.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

i've literally tried everything, I would restart it but I have valuble pictures and i can't do a backup because the same problem will happen.

It sounds like your available free space is not reporting properly. I would start by quitting the Settings app:
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

keep trying to down load itunes 10.5 and keeps getting stalled at 69% downloaded, i have restarted copmuter, run as administrator, uninstalled all previous itunes etc etc and nothing works.
we are using windows 7 home professionla and have connection via optus mobile broadband??????????/Nobody can help? almost three days now and the times just keep going up higher and higher. I have tryed everything. Nobody else seems to be having this problem of it taking days to install. I dont mind waiting but this is getting a little crazy. seems like apple screwed this one up big time..any help would be appreciated.

I have not been able to access pics on iphoto. When I click on iphoto the program starts loading and continues to spin.What can I do to remedy this problem?
Best option: Restore from your back up
Next best: Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
Least best: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107947 has details on how to recover the files from your Library and start over.

Hi, while it could be the RAM, it seems more likely a RAM slot solder problem related to temperature.
Does it do that when it's colder?

New Out of Box and Frozen Right away, Any help please?
Hi everyone, as I have read around here I am not the first to have this kind of a problem:
I opened my ipod box about a hour ago and loved what I saw, a nice new sleek Ipod in black color. (30g 5thG). I ran downstairs, installed the new software, and plugged in my ipod. It immideatly froze. I have been working on it like nuts for the past hour, looking for tech help and such, but all I could find was
"Press the central button and the play button for 6-10 seconds" and things like that.
The problem is my ipod has FROZEN at the main menu screen, it won't turn off, won't change folders, won't respond. I left it idle for about 10 minutes and still nothing. What is going on here? I dont want to use my 1 and only free tech support on something like this, expecally because I just freaken got the thing.I have the same exact problem! I'm stting here and I don't know how to get it to turn off, or to connect properly with my computer.

I download latest updates for itunes and my iphone, when it comes to installing, it successfully downloads, but then i get a message for iphone software error=1403 file corrupted, and for itunes it downloads, then when i try to install it a message says unable to install software, file maybe corrupted!!
The iTunes update must be downloaded and installed before you try and use it to update the iPhone OS
Download iTunes 10.2.2 from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1103
When it completes it will auto mount the disc image and show you the package installer, don't try and do anything with the file until it gets to this stage.
Once that's installed reboot the Mac, run iTunes, connect your iPhone and let it sync, then hit the update button and let it complete that step by itself (which will require a restart of the iPhone) -
At the top of my iPhone 5 it has been saying searching for hours and won't go away I have tried cleaning my SIM card but nothing seems to work any advice?

i downloaded new FF 2 weeks ago. Since then i keep getting update window coming up every day highly recommending i update but when i try, nothing happens except blue/white moving bar at top of window. i have left it run for hours and no progress, so i close it. The next time I open FF, it appears again and again same happens.
If there is an urgent update, how urgent is it if I cannot download it.It's worries me that i can,t load it and how it might affect my security.It would be a great idea to uninstall Norton - you don't need it and it has a pretty poor reputation for mucking up otherwise healthy Macs.

Edit: To see whether you actually have Norton installed launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. If it's installed you'll likely see some Norton entries there.

When I try to update to iOS5, iTunes gets stuck on "Backing Up" its been there for hours and it barely moves. It finished backing up one then it went to a "Extracting Software" on the iTunes status bar up top and then it gave me an error saying something along the lines of "There was an error with the server" and back to square 1. Ive been trying since the morning and same problem. Always stuck on the backup, help?
You may have lost your connection to the apple server or connection with your itunes library.
1) You will need to shutdown Itunes and disconnect your iphone from the USB cable.
2) Reconnect your Iphone to the usb cable, wait for the device to be recognised and or drivers to be installed.
3) once all ok, your itunes should automatically open up/connect (if you have this setting set on), otherwise double click your itunes icon on your desktop.
4) once all sychronised and connected. go to Summary tab and UPDATE your iphone again.
Hope this works for you, as this happend to me and tried the above steps and wala!!! all good.
If the above still fails, restart your pc/apple and turn off/on your modem and then try again.
this normally happens if your connection from your device to the itunes hangs or looses its connection, or have a bad connection to the internet / apple server.
in windows the RPC Locator is normally the cause of this, in apple i have no idea (as im not an apply user).
