IPhone 6 on backorder

If the iPhone 6 was back-ordered until November 7th at the time I purchased it, and now the back-order is delayed until November 21st, will my phone come soon after it's original back-order date (the 7th), or will I have to wait until after the 21st for it to ship?

I ordered mine on 10/25 with the back order date being 11/21. Just got a shipping confirmation on Friday 11/8... 2 weeks earlier than expected!

    I live in Wilson, NC and have been waiting for a replacement handset under the GeekSquad plan but they are tellling me Apple is the hold up. I have been waiting for over a month for the Iphone4. Apple is going to **** without Jobs or maybe you guys was just more efficient then I don't know but I am paying for a protection plan that can't offer protection because of Apple. Samsung Galaxy is looking oh so attractive for every day that passes.

    I've not heard of any shortage of iPhone 4 service replacements, but I have heard of the Geek Squad telling outright lies to customers. So I have strong doubts about the claim that Apple is the holdup here, particularly since Best Buy and the Geek Squad are not shown as being authorized to service the iPhone in your area and if not are not able to order service replacements from Apple. According to Apple's information:

    only their own Apple Stores and the Sprint stores are authorized in NC. Methinks you need to put pressure on the Geek Squad to get your issue sorted out as it's almost certainly entirely their issue, not Apple's.

    I ordered my iphone 5 online at 5am through the att website. On the receipt it says "Your iphone 5 will be shipped on September 21." However, the order is "processing" and I am aware that att put all iphones after 1 am on backorder. If this is true, why would they put September 21 as the shipping date?

    Given that you seem to have been able to upgrade to iOS 7, it would appear to be a hardware issue. After all, a mechanical component like a switch is usually the weak spot in most devices. If possible, try to do a hard-restart and see if it helps: hold down Home and Sleep until the screen goes black and the white Apple logo pops up.
    Else there will be a visit to the Apple Store in your near future. Hopefully a warranty coverage will make said visit less painful.

    Firstly, if you order online from the Apple Store, I assume you will be using an "upgrade" discount, right?  If yes, there is no doubt that your service provider will accept you new iPhone 5 without question.  Secondly, I think you will see an shipped by date as you order online, and thus will know if the date is better than your local retailer.

    No, the Apple Store does not take appointments, with the exception of the Genius Bar which is only for technical support, not for purchasing. You may consider, however, going to http://store.apple.com/us/buy-iphone/iphone6, selecting which model you're looking for, and at checkout, choose the pickup option and see when it say it will be available for pickup.

    I just called my phone company (Rogers) with the same question and they told me that they should send them out in about two weeks. Plus 3 to 5 business days for UPS to actually deliver. Plus I ordered my phone a week and a half ago, so the total duration of this transaction is more than a month, which is ridiculous.

    As has already been pointed out to you, this is a user to user public Apple support forum so how on earth do you expect anybody to be able to tell you how long a replacement phone from T-Mobile will take and when they re-stock their inventory.  How do you expect anybody here to know that?
    Call T-Mobile and ask them!!

  • Backordered an Iphone 6 64 gb space gray, no confirmation email

    Just wondering but I ordered the iPhone 6 in space gray 64 gb online on 10/16/14. It was obviously back ordered to November 14, which was what it said on the red circle next to the picture of the phone. But I didn't get a confirmation email saying that I placed an order. Is that normal? Should I have gotten a confirmation email right after I placed the order or not?

    I got a confirmation email once I placed the order.  It should have had your pre/back order confirmation number in it.  Did you see confirmation when you placed the order?  Thats another place you see it.  If you did not fully complete the order it would not have given a confirmtion number.
    If I were you I would call customer care and find out if they have the number in your account.

  • Anyone with more than one iPhone 6/6+ in same order getting there phones shipped if all your phones didn't have 9-19 when you ordered?

    Our Verizon account has 10 lines and I figure we're paying over $7,000 a year, when I think of how much money total we have payed to Verizon only to be jerked around and around and lied too over and over again really does make me sick.  6 of these contracts have ended and 3 will be up in next couple months and 1 has a year left so the cancelation fees would not be that bad. And with the other big carrier I've heard it might be cheaper on monthly service. All I wanted from Verizon was for them to do whats right.

    all on the same order. I finished at 3:19 am est and got a date of 10/14 even though all the phones except the 6+ 16 gb gray had 9/19. Got confirmation email at 4:56 will ship by 10/14 I got worried that all the phones would not ship till 10/14 and contacted verizon thru facebook messenger. They told me my phones would ship in the order received and not be held up by a phone that wasn't available in my order. And based on the time of my order she said 9/19 for the 6 and 6+ silver, 10/7 for the 6+ 64 gray , 10/14 for 6+ 16 gray. On Monday morning my status changed to 9/19:):) in the afternoon in changed to unknown. I called 611 and rep went thru all my phones with a time sheet she had and said i should get all but the 6+ 16 gray on 9/19, she said that one you had to order by 3:00 to get on 9/19. On Wednesday my status changed to 10/14 , called 611 again and this lady told me all my phones had 10/14 listed after them. She told me she didn't know  what to tell me that Apple ships the phones and its out of Verizon's hands because they don't have the phones. then she told me to call Apple (and gave me the phone # ) and see if they ship preorders with more than 1 in a order when their available or wait till all are. I called them ( they laughed that Verizon had me call them) and they don't hold up orders . Called customer service back and guy said at least 10 times ....I ASSURE YOU VERIZON WILL NOT HOLD YOUR PHONES!!!  i said of course they're not actually putting them in a box and waiting for all, they're sending them to other people who ordered after me. I asked him if my order could be separated/ rebuilt and do a (jump the line request)  so i could get my phones when i should. He said there is no such thing at verizon....he has worked there many years and if there was he would know. Someone posted # to Internet orders so i called them Thursday morning, spoke to a very nice guy he said my phones that i should get i would and i should get an e-mail later that day and if i didnt get anything by 8:00 pm to call back. Before we hung up i asked if I didn't  get anything did he know if they could cancel/separate/rebuild and do jump the line, he said they can do that and put me on hold while he spoke with a supervisor, he came back and said if nothing happened that day they would do that with my order. I got nothing, called Internet orders back at 8:30pm... went thru my history and asked them to do the rebuild. She transferred me to supervisor who REFUSED to rebuild my order, that is only for orders that have a technical error. She was also the first person from Verizon to tell me that they DO NOT  ship orders in multiple shipments, they will only send when everything is available. She then said your order was given a delivery date of before 10/14  and that's when you'll get all your phones. I let her know that there is nothing about that confirmation that tells me that the phones that I ordered that had 9/19 deliver by dates would not be delivered then, 9/19 is before 10/14.

    Same thing happened to me!!! They made a shady business move and they should be ashamed. Placed a pre-order for an Phone 6 and an iPhone 6 Plus at 2 AM on the 12th and got my pre-order in line just like everyone else did that morning. The 6 said delivery by 9/19 and the Plus was already back ordered to 10/7 but that's fine, I expected the Plus to be harder to get anyway. Being that both phones were eligible it made sense to just place one order given this hasn't been an issue in the past. However, Verizon moved my iPhone 6 pre-order delivery to coincide with the back ordered Plus so they don't have to ship each phone separately!!! I have to wait for something on backorder while the other is ready so they can save on shipping cost. I expected the one that I pre-ordered IN TIME FOR A 9/19 delivery and waited my turn "in (on)line" like everyone else I should get that when it told me that in the checkout, THEN send the Plus when it becomes available. I even have the confirmation email that says "Deliver by 9/19"!!!  Every company you order from sends you the backorder item when it becomes in stock, they don't wait and hold the entire order for it. WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!!!

Because, I billed half to my account, as the system LET me do this and the other half to my debit card. Well they tried to take out the FULL PURCHASE PRICE on 9/23. It didn't go thru and they cancelled the order! I NEVER GOT ANY EMAIL from Verizon! I called this evening to find out the status of my order. Was told that since the device is on backorder, I cannot Bill to Account!!!! I am BEYOND LIVID! I realize that it's "JUST A PHONE' BUT, I should have had my device by Friday! NOW, I have to wait another month at best. I do NOT have credit cards and since this phone is on backorder, will have to wait another week before I can order it and by that time, it'll be CHRISTMAS before I can order a phone. Who knows, I may just save that money and CANCEL EVERY SINGLE LINE on my account. Three will be Month to month so NO ETF's with those lines!

    its a bunch of **. they charged my credit card on sunday, my status still says no payment, no tracking #, they told me my phone was going to ship monday and I've gotten a different story every day since. today they told me they shipped out all the phones and are waiting for more to come in...blah blah blah. i ordered on 9/12 and my friend that ordered the same exact phone on 9/19 got his on tuesday and laughed at me for preordering. I'm very frustrated!

  • Iphone 6 was mysteriously cancelled, reordered, and cancelled again all by the system

    I am a new verizon wireless customer nearing the end of my at&t billing cycle. I haven't even received my phones yet but I have already had the worse experience ever.
    I ordered two iphones on 9/13 when the delievery date was still set at 9/19 in stores and I also ordered a samsung s5 which was shipped to my brother within days. The 9/19 delivery date was crucial since my brother's account would start earlier and we are supposed to be sharing 10 gigs of data. The sales associate was able to credit us $30 to compensate for the preorder delivery date not aligning with our plan's start date.
    However when 9/19 came along and no phones were delivered to my house, I checked online and my order was now set to be delivered by 10/7. I went to the verizon store immediately and the manager apologized and said he couldn't do anything and that it was just very backordered. Everything was still okay with me at this point since I understood the iphone being in high demand.
    Then the crazy things happened. On 9/23, I received email saying that my preorders were cancelled. I NEVER cancelled them. An hour later, I was emailed receipts saying that I had gone into the verizon store and ordered two new iphones that day BUT I never did this either. Than, another hour passes and I receive emails saying the two phones I had 'supposedly' ordered that day were also cancelled. Lastly, I get an email saying one of my phones has shipped and is supposed to come on 9/19 but at this point, it was already 9/23.
    After a stream of all these emails, I headed into the store the next day to figure out what the heck had happened. According the manager, the sales people whose names were on the receipts of our 'supposed' orders did not even work at that store. He also suspected hackers had somehow done this. After numerous phone calls to customer service and hours sitting at the store, we were able to reorder the iphones..but with a later delivery date of course.
    * I would like to mention that the manager and sales person were extremely kind and helpful but they could only do so much.
    Now, my mom and I are looking at either days with no cell phones (while we wait for our iphone 6's to arrive) or paying an additional month for at&t WHILE paying for verizon already since my brother's contract has already started.
    I really hope verizon will actually look into my situation because this was definitely an internal issue. While I know other people's phones have been mysteriously cancelled, I do not know of anyone who's account has gone through so much strange activity as mine.

    I also pre-ordrered on 9/12 a 128GB Gold 6 Plus. When ordering, it gave me the option to Bill to Account, which I did for about 1/2 the price of the phone. Little did I know that when Verizon tried to ship the phone, it attempted to charge my bank act the ENTIRE AMOUNT of the phone!! Well, there wasn't enough money in my checking acct for that, only what I had originally planned on paying outright, $250. So because of that, the order didn't go through and Verizon CANCELLED MY PRE-ORDER! I never got an email or anything. I was SUPPOSED to get my phone by 10/3 or something like that.
    On 10/1, I called Verizon and asked  them where my phone was in the queue. The Rep tells me that my order was cancelled and why (I didn't know any of the above information when I first called). and didn't I get an email alerting me to such? NO!!! Boy was I mad!! Still am very upset with how this whole pre-order thing was handled. My Sister-in-law walked INTO a Verizon Store  (or maybe Best Buy) ON LAUNCH DAY and got a new iPhone 6! Here I am almost 2 months later, a Verizon Customer since 2008 and I am STILL WAITING!! I was so very angry but didn't lose my cool. The Rep offered me a $25 inconvenience credit on my bill, which I gladly accepted!
    I ended up ordering again on 10/1....I JUST got shipment notice today that my IPhone 6 Plus 128GB in Gold is shipping out so hopefully it'll be in my hands on Monday!!!! I'd call Verizon and ask them why your order was cancelled, they'll be able to help you faster than waiting for a Rep to answer you here and ask about getting an inconvenience credit

  • Not in love w/ the new iPhone 3G & thinking of returning it. Anyone else?

    Here is my narrative of the iPhone 3G 16gb White… This is focuses on the negative aspects of the phone I have experienced in 24 hours of owning it… I am debating to Return it. Wonder if anyone else has had similar issues or thoughts…
    Disclaimer:
    I have had a lot of phones w/ different carriers - the majority being PDA style phones. For the most part the 1st generation iPhone has been fantastic. Realistically every phone is going to have its issues/quarks and not be perfect. But Apple did a good job w/ the iPhone 1st generation (at least in my opinion) and so I am more than eager to see their “improved” version and reward them w/ my continued loyalty.
    Background:
    With that said… I walked into an AT&T store and willingly renewed my contract for another 2-yrs. Coming from Verizon after many years – this is quite a sacrifice (AT&T is horrible). When buying the phone from AT&T store I had to go through strict scrutiny to make the purchase (i.e. I had to prove I was the primary account holder, have a credit card, have a driver’s license with picture, and confirm my SS#). In addition, since it was backordered I had to pay in advance w/ knowledge if I were to decide now to return it (even before receiving it) that I would be subject to a 10% restocking fee. So fast forward 7 days of waiting and I finally got the call to pick up the phone…
    *Negative Issues:*
    1)While walking in the sun w/ the phone “off” (standby mode)… the sun really exposed the screen LCD traits… I am not sure how to explain this… but you can see the outline of the LCD which is dark, a lighter colored perimeter about .5mm thick around the screen that was lighter colored and inactive when on, and even can clearly see the 3 sensors on the top of the black border near the ear speaker… I don’t recall the 1st iPhone looking like this at all. It looks cheap as a result.
    2)Going with what I said before, now I can’t get my eyes off the .5mm thick dead border of screen that is obvious around the iPhone… its distracting and not sure why Apple left it around the screen and did not hide it or put it under the real black border of the phone.
    3)Going with the above again, this iPhone is slightly wider than the previous iPhone and has a bigger black border. In essence it makes the screen look smaller when compared to the previous iPhone – although I doubt it is the actual case but rather just an optical illusion.
    4)They say the plastic backing made for better grip, feel, and supposed better reception. I however don’t necessarily like the feel, its slightly wider size, and the rounded edges make its feel odd/awkward. However, perhaps I am just too use to the older iPhone and it will take some time.
    5)After fully charging the iPhone, I went to a friend’s house (45mins away)… went to eat (90mins)… then to see a movie – Batman (maybe 180mins)… at this point I still had never made an actual call from the iPhone yet and sent (4) texts and did some limited playing around on the web/email and etc… (Remember I had the iPhone 1st generation so I know enough to turn Bluetooth off, WiFi off, even Push off, kept fetch on every 15mins)… so anyway… the iPhone had been on standby majority of time (I even made sure to return to home screen to stop anything from running in background) and the phone was at about 30% battery life. I checked my email for 1 minute and the I got the warning that 20% battery was remaining!
    6)Upon careful look at the iPhone I noticed that I had a dead pixel on the upper right of the phone - must have been there but just noticed it now (below the battery icon and to the right of the top icon).This is not unusual I guess in manufacturing and I have complete faith Apple will swap it out for a new iPhone… no big deal… just inconvenient.
    7)While home I charged the iPhone again for several hours to full charge. Still have never made a phone call on it. For about 40mins I played around w/ the menus and features… played with a few applications feature (i.e. facebook, AIM, myspace)… went on the web… looked at the GPS map feature… went back to home screen then put the phone in Standby mode… Watched TV for a few hours… looked back at phone to see the batter was 50% dead? Played with phone for 10 mins with music/photo/etc features – put it back to standby mode and watched more TV for 1 hr than looked at the phone to see it at 30% battery level. I fell asleep for a few hours and woke up to see the iPhone had died.
    8)One thing I must point out… that throughout my narration/events above… whenever the phone was in standby mode I noticed it was warm to touch. It was not too hot to burn and be unable to use… but noticeably warm as if it were overheating? I thought standby was supposed turn the iPhone basically off (at least a very low power consumption level).
    9)Another thing I noticed – perhaps it’s just me… but the screen seems to smudge a lot more – if not easier. The other screen was not perfect but the smudging was manageable. This leads me to believe that there is something different with this screen. Perhaps a different material or so… just something doesn’t seem the same.
    10)I have had to fully charge the phone 3 times in 24hours and still have yet to make a single phone call. It would seem that just simply roaming on the 3G network is killing the battery life. Many 3rd party applications also drain the battery. For whatever reason something is running in the background that Apple has designed (maybe just the nature of 3G) that keeps it running even in standby.
    *Apple Customer Service told me the following:*
    1)If I return the phone for any reason (even if it is defective and etc) I will have to bay 10% restocking fee.
    2)The iPhone running on 3G severely limits the phones use… they state it runs 50% less than the 1st generation of iPhone… so 5hrs talk time at most and that they recommend to people to turn off 3G and keep it in Edge. Even in Edge mode –they say the 1st generation iPhone lasts longer.
    3)They tell me the weather is another feature that affects the phone – if it’s a hot day than it will be less battery life???
    4)They say there has been many reports of iPhone running hot – but it’s a result of the 3G and normal…
    5)They say a huge majority of the iPhones 3G have dead pixels and hardware issues...
    6)I can swap out the iPhone for a new one under warranty (especially for the dead pixel)… but this will probably make it impossible for me to return to AT&T since the serial numbers would be different… so I would have to live w/ the iPhone 3G at that point...
    Summary:
    I am starting to think the iPhone 1st generation wasn't that bad after all. Perhaps I should just wait till much later or possible software improvements before taking advantage of an upgrade... I can always repurchase it later. Overall I am very disappointed by this whole experience due to my high expectations.

I am trying not to whine... but be helpful to others if they experience the same while get input before I make the decision to return (which I am leaning towards)… It’s still a great phone – but I expected something different. I also have been coming the internet and forums to see what other people think as well to make sure I am not being oversensitive about it. $300 for a 16gb is not buyers remorse kicking in… it’s just I am not sure if I see much of a difference from my perfectly good (8month old) iPhone 1st generation…
    But yes… if all iPhone 3G were problematic it would be in the news… so I err on the side that I may be a unique situation or simply did not make a well informed decision when going to 3G.
    Still… the idea of turning 3G off to get a full day of use out of an iPhone… even moderate use that most of us would expect w/o charging midway or multiple times is a bit much to swallow.
    I don’t want to bash and just looking for peoples reaction. I still really like Apple and the iPhone in general.

    July 1st - Ordered my IPhone 4 around 11pm
    July 3rd - Status Update: Processing (I've been checking everyday day)
    July 11th - Status Update: Shipped (AT&T Premier emailed me that the phone has been staged for pick-up and may take up to 72 hours before the shipping carrier can provide detailed delivery information)
    July 12th - Checked Fedex website and the phone's estimated arrival is tomorrow, July 13th around 3pm
    A friend of mine ordered the same day July 1st, and AT&T Premier emailed her on the 8th and got the phone on the 10th..
    Hope this helps.. I'm excited to receive mine tomorrow.

    I bought a 16GB iPhone 4 on Sept 20, can I exchange for a 16 GB 4S?  I have my 30-day exchange period ending on Oct. 20 but I'm worried all the 4S phones will be backordered.  Will I be able to reserve one and still get my free exchange? 
    I paid $199 and used my upgrade for the AT&T iPhone 4 when my last phone broke last month. 
    I did this same thing with the 3GS when it came out as I bought a 3G and returned it a few weeks later when the 3GS came out but obviously a lot more were in stock then than will be for the 4S.
    Is there any kind of a rain check I can get on the 4S?

    Yes, if you purchased after September 4th you are eligible for an exchange. You should get in contact with your carrier to be put on a waiting list. Hope thy helps!
