IPhone converting email body to attachments on reply or forward

All of a sudden when we reply or forward an email it no longer sends the original message of the email in the body it converts it to attachments that can not be opened. iPhone os 4.? working ActiveSync through Exchange Server 2007 with Outlook 2003 & 2007 clients. Anyone have any suggestions?

Original post states that they are accessing via Exchange 2007.
Previous emails from iPhone had the message body intact.
Current emails from iPhone now have message body as html attachment.
Somewhere somehting changed. Copied and pasted email below of previous exchange between outlook client and iPhone user through Exchange 2007. Can email directly to you if you would like.
Thank you.

Thank you. Yes, I'd like you to attend. I'll be there, too, and would appreciate your familiarity if your schedule will accommodate.
Thank you for serving in this capacity while Dave & I are out.
In much appreciation,

I attended the meeting at Geomap last night. It was initially set up to try to inform residents in the area of the proposed changes since Plano only has to notify residents and businesses within 200’ of the change request.
The meeting was attended by about 20 people that consisted of a 50/50 split residents and business owners.
Attached is a pdf of the handout that does a great job of giving all the relevant information on the project. There was a lot of information covered so I will summarize it as best as I can.
The site that the zoning change has been requested on is owned by Temple Baptist Church of Allen. There are dozens of other sites that have been found by project opposition that are already zoned to allow this facility and are in more accommodating locations. On 8/9 there is a City Council meeting to discuss the $700,000 loan that the City of Plan will be applying for from HUD to buy the land for the Samaritan Inn. This loan is expected to be repaid using funds from the Community Development Block Grant at a rate of $70,000 per month for approximately 10 years. Samaritan Inn will, upon completion of the project, own the assets, including land and improvements. Below are questions that were discusses that should be proposed to the City Council contemplating the loan request:
1. What happens if the zoning request is not passed and other property is more than the amount of the initial loan? Isn’t this putting the cart before the horse?
2. If the CDBG changes and there is not enough money for the payment what happens?
a. Do other programs get cut out because of this?
b. Is the money taken out of the city operating funds to pay it?
3. Other locations are available for this project? Shouldn’t a better analysis of location and necessary local amenities be conducted before settling on this location?
4. If property values decrease because of the zoning change how will the city offset the loss of revenue?
Would you like me to plan on attending the upcoming Monday night City Council meeting on behalf of McDowell Label?

• How do I convert email and all attachments into pdf?

I have multiple emails with attachments that need to be converted to PDF.  Using Adobe Pro 11 I can create an email that is pdf with the attachments embedded in their original format, but not as pdf.  I can "un-embed" the attachments and convert to pdf, but I really would like to do it all at once.  I used another program previously that worked pretty well, but now the powers that be decided that we could no longer use it as it was not supported.
After selecting a group of emails, here is what I would like to be able to produce:
1) Each email is put into an individual folder. In each folder is a pdf of the email, and a pdf of each of the attachments.
2) Each email and its attachments is converted with the attachments becoming part of the file - producing a long pdf document with the email message followed  by the attachments. I was able to do this using the program Message Export which we no longer support.
3) Each email becomes a pdf and the attachments become embedded after they were converted to pdf files.
Any ideas are welcome.  Below is what I am currently able to produce.
Thanks.

Example:  Email message below has multiple file types
I can convert it to PDF, but the attachments stay in their original format, and I need them to be converted to pdf.

• When an email contains multiple attachments how can I forward just one of the attachments in a new email?

I am new to IPAD use and need to forward one attachment from an original email that contains multiple attachments - how can I isolate and forward only one of the attachments?

Aha! I have been doing just that. However, what has been tripping me up is that I am also used to clicking the Go Online/Go Offline toggle button on the top menu bar when I manually check for messages on Cox. Apparently when you take one inbox offline, that button switches to Off even though the other inbox is still online. If I just ignore that button and go on or off via the cox mailbox listing, it keeps comcast from being reactivated.
Thanks so much for helping me think this through.
Edited to add: I removed that dang button from my menu so I can stop clicking it.

• Attachments in reply and forwards

i am using pop account (non .mac)
when i forward a message, the attachments doesnt appear any more in the forwarded msg (whether a mobie, pic or a file).
how can i change that?

As strange as it may sound, this behavior started for me after upgrading to Safari 3 beta. I downgraded back to Safari 2 and the problem went away. I don't know what Safari has to do with Mail attachments, but this seems to be the fix.
To downgrade back to Safari 2, download the Safari 3 Beta from the Apple Download site, then double click on the uninstall program. Safari will automatically revert to Safari 2.

• Exchange email sync of reply and forward tags

hi,
We are using Exchange 2007 and whenever we make replies or forwards on the iphone the tags are not updated back to the server to show that the email has been delt with when looking at it in outlook, i.e. the mail icon does not have the reply or forward arrow next to it. When connecting to exchange 2010 the tags appear to update without issue.
Any ideas?

• I am able to read my emails (AOL), but unable to reply, forward and save or write new emails. Works OK in IE.

When trying to create an new email, I can enter information in the "To" and "Subject" boxes but in not the "Message" box.
Once I have read an email, If I click on "Reply" or "Forward", a new email form opens but with all boxes blank and again, I cannot write in the message box.
I also tried saving an email form (I didn't want to lose the email address I had typed in) but this also failed.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems article.

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
#Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the Uninstall Firefox article.
IMPORTANT: On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do not check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox user profile data will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
* (On 32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
* (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
#In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
#Look for a Mozilla Firefox folder. If you find one, right-click it and select Delete and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

• Reply and forward icons not appearing in mail app when I respond/forward from Gmail

When I reply or forward an email within the iphone mail app, the arrow icons showing I replied or forwarded appear beside the email in my iphone mail app inbox.
When I reply or forward from gmail, these icons do not appear in my iphone mail app.  Does show that I have read and flagging/unflagging works.
Any thoughts?

Close out of the mail app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
Then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Then check your mail again.

I just installed the Lion operating system, basically to upgrade my iPhone. I didn't realize that my Microsoft Office 2004 application would no longer work. I have been using Word for my writing and I receive most of my emails with Word attachments. I have been using Apple products for years, always touting their reliability and customer service. I am not a techie, I just want to be able to do what I do on the computer and Apple always fulfilled my needs. Now I am told because of some operating system gobbledygook, I have to go out and purchase new software to use Word. This is despicable. I see no particular benefit to using Lion, but I do see a lot of detriments. Apple now seems to have turned into Microsoft, making software obsolete so they can make more money and to **** with the customer. You can be sure that my next computer will be a PC. I have completely lost confidence in Apple.

I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

If the seller will not respond, contact Ebay and report the fraud.  The device is most likely stolen.

• How to convert a file of emails and the attachments to pdf?

In adobe pro XI, how do you convert a file of emails AND their attachments to pdf?

Unfortunately, that did not work either. I am thinking this may not be possible (at least with 10.1.3.4). What I was hoping for was that I could audit the presentation catalog groups and users. I want to be able to get a list of all the users and the groups they are listed in. Again, this would be helpful so we do not need to keep an external record. If we are removing access to a user or updating the group, we want to make sure we remove them from all applicable groups (Settings>Administration>Manage Presentation Catalog Groups and Users)

• Converting Microsoft Outlook Emails with JPEG attachments to a pdf

Hi,
I have emails with jpeg attachments.  When I open the email message and clikc the "Convert to PDF", the message is converted to a pdf but the pdf does not have the attachments. I'm assuming there is some setting for this that I can't seem to locate. I have Acrobat X
Thanks
Rick

Hi Jay,
You can use the 'Acrobat' plugin in Outlook and select the messages or folders to convert to pdf
The attachments of the mails will be included in the attachment section of the pdf files.

• Email body content is not displaying on iphone 4 with ios5

when I open email from either exchange or yahoo there is nothing displayed in the message body.
if I hit reply or forward I can see the body content.  Is there a fix for this bug please?

It seems hard to believe that this problem still persists with iOS 7, but I just had to restart Mail in order to be able to see the body text again. No restart of the phone was necessary though.

• IPhone receives email but cannot reply or send via wifi

iPhone receives email but cannot send via wifi.
Get the following message:
"Cannot Send Mail
The connection to the outgoing server "......" failed.

I was facing similar problems. I could easily send email from all of my accounts at work, because we have our own mail server, and I could make sure I had the correct settings. However, at home I had to use edge. Sending mail over WiFi was a no-go. Your idea to use the gmail smtp server was the perfect answer. Now my email is sending no matter what network I am on. Thanks.

• How can I attach an image without the image is in the email body? (using the new mail the Lion)

How can I attach an image without the image is in the email body? (using the new mail the Lion)
I want in attachment, not in the body mail.

I think your only solution is to zip the image files first and then attach them.
Read this from a site I found:
Sending Graphical Attachments -- When you attach a graphical image to your message, the recipient of your message sees the image inline (that is, in the body of the message) if her email client supports inline display. ("Take Control of Email with Apple Mail" contains a table listing the capabilities of popular Mac and PC email clients.) If a client does not support inline display (or the recipient has turned off the inline display option), the file appears as an attachment that must be opened in a separate program.
On the one hand, an inline image is easier for the recipient to see - all she has to do is look at it. On the other hand, inline images can be frustrating to scroll through. If you do not wish to send a graphical image inline, you must compress the file before attaching it - Mail, sadly, lacks a built-in compression option, though fortunately for Panther users, the Finder offers Zip compression without requiring a separate application.
Note that when you compose a new message, Mail always shows attachments in the body of your message. You can manually drag them somewhere else, but many email clients display all attachments in a separate list, regardless of where you place them in the message body.
If you paste an image into a message or drag & drop an image from another window (say, a Web browser), Mail converts the raw image data to an attachment in TIFF format. On the other hand, if you drag & drop the icon of an image file (or use the Attach button to locate the file using the file browser), Mail leaves the attached image in its original format. This difference is significant, because although most email clients can display JPEG images just fine, support for TIFF - especially in non-Mac email clients - is less common. If possible, I suggest attaching image files as opposed to pasting or dragging in raw image data.
