IPhone cradle for Mercedes Benz

I have bought the original Mercedes-Benz iPhone 3G cradle. I have followed the instructions to pair the iPhone with the Cradle (without the phone being in the cradle and entering the 62872 code).
It all works well - but only if the iPhone is IN the cradle - I can't get it to connect if the iPhone is in my pocket? Bluetooth is being used do I don't really understand why it would only work in the cradle?
Any ideas?

Will it pair when not in the cradle? What I mean is, have you tried pairing the phone to the cradle, but not placing the phone in the cradle? Once paired this way, then place the phone in the cradle, see if it's still paired, then remove and see if it remains paired. If it doesn't, could be the phone is treating the crade as two separate devices. If it's doing that, by design, it will only pair with one at a time.

Bluetooth issue with iPhone 4 and Mercedes Benz

I just received my iphone 4 today and it has a huge problem. When my previous iPhone 3GS was paired with my Mercedes Benz bluetooth telephone system, within seconds the address book was loaded. This continued to work well even after I upgraded it to iOS4. HOWEVER, my new iPhone4 will not sync the address book. This is extremely annoying considering my iphone sits in my glove box connected so that my itunes audio plays through my car audio.
Since I spend a great deal of time driving, this problem is big enough that it may cause me to return the iPhone4 and stick with the older model.

If you have the long futuristic puck in the center console here are the instructions I follow - works every time on my 2009 S550:
Important: * DON'T USE THE COMAND ON-SCREEN MENU - this will just mess you up *
Repeat: * DON'T USE THE COMAND ON-SCREEN MENU at all for this *
1) Put your iPhone on the bluetooth settings screen (Settings-General-Bluetooth)
2) Press the Mercedes logo on the center console puck for 3 seconds (it's actually a button, puck will flash blue)
3) Car might show up as "Hands-free" or "MB PhoneSystem" on the iPhone - select it
4) It will ask for a code - the number is always 62872
That's it! Let me know if you have any trouble.
p.s. phone book might take 2-3 minutes to upload each time - this is normal.

Nokia 6288 car cradle for Mercedes

Hi,
I have just purchased a Mercedes SLK with prewiring for a fully integrated hands free mobile phone but Mercedes are not able to supply a cradle for my Nokia 6288.
Does anybody have a solution for this - can I get a cradle from Nokia and have it installed by a third party specialist car phone installer ?
Does anybody have any experience with having a phone fitted to a Mercedes by a third party installation company ?
Would be grateful for any suggestions.

Not sure what the UHI system is; Mercedes describe the option as prewiring with hands free facility for the phone, controllable via the multi function steering wheel. The cradles currently offered include the MB 6787 5822 that you mentioned (for Nokia 6210; 6310; 6310i); there is also a bluetooth integration cradle MB 6787 6125 (with no indication as to what phones this supports), and a Bluetooth cradle MB 6787 6128 which appears to be compatible with various listed Nokia and Siemens handsets (but not the Nokia 6288); and a further Bluetooth cradle(H.F.P) MB 6787 5877 which is compatible with some other listed Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones (but not the Nokia 6288). No idea what H.F.P means.
I have also not heard of the Visee0 MBU 1000 Bluetooth module you mention; who supplies this ? How can I check this out for compatiblity between car and my Nokia 6288 ?
Basically I am looking to connect my phone to the Mercedes supplied hands free integrated wiring system ideally by getting a suitable cradle for my Nokia which someone (i.e. a specialist carphone installation company)can fit to the car and get it all working for me !!
Mercedes seem not to have kept up with the latest phone models regarding their cradle offering; I need someone to finish the job for me.
Any further suggestions (from anybody) would be much appreciated.

Bluetooth connection between iPhone 4 and Mercedes Benz APS 50

I have massive problems to use my iPhone 4 (OS 4.1) together with my brand new car from Mercedes Benz. It is a E class Cabriolet 200 CGI from 2010 with a APS 50 Radio/Navigation/Telephone System. It has bluetooth included and I can connect my iPhone 4 to the APS 50 and even import all my contacts. But every time a start an outgoing phonecall through the APS 50, the connection seems to collapse. My iphone is dialing, but the APS system disconnects bluetooth coupling after some seconds. I even don't hear a dialing tone throzugh the speakers.
Fortunately my wive has an iPhone 3GS (my old one ;-)) with iOS 3.x - and it works perfectly. So it must be something with the "4". A call to AppleCare did not help, they do not know the problem. Mercdes says, it is an Apple problem!
Can anybody help?

Have a similar problem with the COMAND system in my 2010 C class Mercedes. Bluetooth worked fine until I upgraded my iphone 3gs with 4.1 software. Now it frequently shows it to be disconnecting and reconnecting on the screen even though I always stay connected when on a call. It really is distracting when driving when the message constantly goes on and off the screen and also obstructs the satnav screen when in use. I called in my local Apple store but they were unable to assist and I have returned the car to Mercedes who have installed the latest software updates to the COMAND system. I have also re-paired the phone but still the problem continues. If only I could downgrade the iphone software to the previous version that worked perfectly. This whole episode is fast destroying my faith in Apple products.

OS4 x Viseeo for Mercedes Benz

I am very surprised I can't undo my iPhone's software update.
The whole thing began when I updated my iPhone's software to OS4. The problem is, before that I didn't have any problem with the handset and now two big issues:
My iPhone no longer synchronizes his contacts with my car's memory. So, I can't see my contacts in my car, when they ring me numbers comes on my dash but random numbers and special characters. Plus my ringtone comes out so loudly in my stereo system, scaring me sometimes! And as a Mercedes owner we don't have a wide range of cradles available to buy and the most used Viseeo MB-2 is the one that doesn't synchronizes. Problem is MB-2 is for the latest cars, so, nothing at the moment is as updated as this one.
Found this note http://www.itjustworks.co.uk/viseeo-mercedes-bluetooth-help-support.htm and called Apple to double check the info. So, there's no way of downgrading my mobile's software back to 3.1 said by an Apple Care agent;
Said that My only choice would be to buy a second hand iPhone, not upgraded one! and Keep it away from iTunes Upgrades.
The other big issue is that now, my mobile is veeeeeery slow!! Launching apps, contacts, txts, mails.... everything so slow!!
Anyone have any idea, comments to help me out here?

Viseeo has released an update address some iOS4 issues.
For me this fixed extremly low volume for bluetooth calls and

Using TomTom on the iPhone in a Mercedes Banz

I have an iPhone 4S and the correct iPhone cradle for my Mercedes Benz CLK280. Everything works fine with the phone integration with the car's sound system for making and receiving calls when the iPhone is in the cradle.
However, because TomTom is a far better navigation solution than the inbuilt MB one, I tend to use the iphone in an air vent holder and plugged into the cigarette lighter socket so I can get access to the TomTom camera information and traffic information. But of course, this means I lose the signal boost from the car's antenna and the integration with the car's call-handling.
SO, I wonder if there is any way of plugging a lead into the phone with the other end plugged into the MB car cradle. In this way I could have the best of all worlds with integration with the car's sound system for phone calls, plus picking up power and access to the car's built in aerial via connection to the cradle. Is there some sort of double-ended iPhone cable which would give me this facility?
Anyone got any ideas? I wouldn't mind betting that a lot of people would have a similar requirement.

Sync only selected contact groups via Bluetooth to Mercedes Benz

I understand that it is possible to create "groups" of contacts in the address book program on my MacBook Pro and then choose to sync either all or just selected groups to my iphone.
If I do sync all of these groups to my iphone (which I want) is it then possible to sync only "one" group (just the essential numbers) to my Mercedes via bluetooth?

I have the iPhone and a Mercedes Benz, with the Bluetooth v60 Puck. The car will only receive 100 contacts but I have no way of knowing which 100 will be uploaded.

Are you having problems connecting to other devices? If not, have you contacted your Mercedes dealership to discuss the issue? Have to checked to see if there's a firmware available for your Comand system? Have you deleted the pairing with your car and then re-paired?

I just installed the IOS 5.1.1 on my iphone 4 but it doesn´t work anymore with the Mercedes Benz (2010) media interface, some help!

Resetting the Network Settings worked to fix my problem as others have suggested.
To help answer dinpa59, bechic, and others if needed you do the following:
Select your SETTINGS icon.
Select GENERAL
Scroll to the bottom and select RESET.
Select RESET NETWORK SETTINGS.
This will completely erase your bluetooth setup as well as other WIFI network associatiotions. These will all need to be re-paired and passwords entered for WIFI again once this is done.
THIS SHOULD FIX BLUETOOTH ISSUE.

I have the MB Multi Handset Interface with the latest Bluetooth "puck". Pairs fine, voice quality decent.
One nice bonus is how fast the contact directory loads now. With a V600 directly in the cradle(no BT) it could take up to five minutes to load about 30 contacts. With the iPhone usings BT it loads four times as many contacts in just seconds.
As far as reconnecting when getting back in the car, mine always reconnects and at least loads the recents, but not always the directory, unless the iPhone is fully on.
Has anyone found a good way to check voicemail within this setup? I haven't fugured out how to connect to vmail via the MB controls. Or, if I connect using the iPhone directly, I cannot get the audio to play through the MB.
Also, have you noticed what happens when you try the old speed dial function through the MB keypad?

IPhone Car Cradle for Audi

Just spoke to Audi and they are only just starting to design and produce the cradle for the new iPhone
I asked why and they told me that Apple refused to release details in advance so they knew when we did.
Crazy really when you think about it, iPhone is the leading phone for business and most of us use them in the car.
I for one will not be buying an iPhone 5 until the car cradle is available, I'm told this could be at least 8 months away at best.....

Frustrating isn't it!!
What I have done is use the USB cable from AMI and plugged my iPhone 5 USB charging cable in. Not ideal but its a short term solution to charge your phone whilst on the move until the cradle becomes available.

IPhone 3G Mercedes Benz

So, I just purchased a CLS550 2009 mercedes benz with integrated iPod crap. Turns out that the Mercedes integration works nearly flawlessly. The only challenge is that it won't power up the phone. I was told since the MB didn't support the USB power standard as opposed to the firewire standard - blah. basically it was a pin configuration issue. My thinking is that a new cord woudl fix the problem if it cross powered the right pins.. Am I wrong here? If so, anyone up to start manufacturing these c ords. Bet you could make a mint selling them. If someone has beat you to the punch, I'd love a link on where to buy them.

Given the lead time Mercedes had from apple to make this change over, and given what you paid for the car, and given it is a 2009 claiming to be compatible with a device that came out in 2008, you drive back to their lot and tell them to fix it.
They owe you a warranty repair.
They had well over a year of notice from Apple that they would be dropping firewire and using only USB pins in the connector.
