IPhone drops wireless when downloading
I have a strange fault. I have bt home hub 3 infinity and although speed is fairly variable to the time of the day it usually is connected. Except for on my iPhone. And then only when I'm downloading! If I try to download an album the wireless drops in and out relentlessly. On the iPad its fine, on the laptop it's fine, on the iPhone it is a nightmare. So the phone is at fault right? Well, no. The fault occurred on my iPhone 4, but I just upgraded to the iPhone 6 and guess what - the fault is still there! This means the fault is not the phone, but the way the connection is being run. I've been googling around, I've tried changing channels but it made no difference. There's a lot of bt home hubs where I am so I think maybe the 2.4mhz channel is swamped, but it drives me mad. I'm starting to think maybe I ought to cancel BT broadband and go with Virgin to see if it fixes the problem. Can anyone shed light on this issue?
have you tried changing wireless channel also changing ISP will not solve the problem as they all use the same wireless channels

IPhone drops wireless network connection
My iPhone can't keep a wireless connection. I can establish the connection as indicated by the wireless network icon, but within less than a minute it reverts to the 3G network icon.
I've tried numerous times to establish a persistent connection, to no avail. During one of those attempts I received an error message "could not scan for wireless networks." I haven't seen anyone else here get that message.
Any ideas what is going on?I suggest resetting the network settings on your iPhone.
Go to Settings > Reset, and select Reset Network Settings.
This will erase all existing wi-fi network settings stored on your iPhone. This will require re-entering the password for a password protected wi-fi network and reconnecting to all wi-fi networks that you have access to.
If this doesn't work, try a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so. An iPhone reset does not affect any data or settings.
If no change after a reset, try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup - which is the default selection when doing a restore. If there is a problem with your iPhone's backup, restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup will restore the problem. The next step is a restore as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after these steps and if you are in the U.S., time to give AppleCare a call at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. -

IPhone drops network when running maps/gps!!
I have a Verizon iPhone 4S and ive recently noticed that when im running google maps or anything that requires a gps lock, my iphone's signal drops. I get a searching message And loose my connectivity. If i leave maps running in the background and try to place a call, my phone drops the call and looses signal. I understand that i can't talk and surf at the same time. But i when running any app that requires a gps signal my phone looses all connection. I cannot place a call cause it drops the signal. The only way for me to place a call is to close maps all together. Faulty gps chip?!! Phone has been restored and called verizon to reactivate my phone. No difference. Help!!
One more update:
No help from the Genius Bar. They wanted to swap the phone, but I couldn't see the logic in it, based on having read reports on here of others with the same problem. I don't think it's a hardware issue.
So, last night, I disabled Siri, and a couple of the other non-critical Location Services features, and while that didn't seem to fix it last night, this morning everything is working properly (minus Siri). That's new behavior, considering that I didn't have to do a system restore to toggle the behavior.
I expect a new version of iOS 5.x will be coming soon... -
IPhone dropping calls when around Verizon FIOS router

I have first generation of iPhone running 2.2.1. At home I have Verizon FIOS. I have noticed that at home if I dont switch off wifi on my iPhone, I get dropped phone calls. If I am connected to wifi and I make a phone call, within a minute or two I can not hear a thing. If I switch off wifi on my iPhone and make calls then everything goes fine. This is also true when I am receiving calls. I dont have this problem when I am around routers other than the FIOS router I have at home. Has anyone experienced this and know how to fix it?i have FIOS but i haven't experienced that problem because i have the wifi in the FIOS router turned off and have an Airport Extreme bridged to the FIOS router supplying the wifi.
if you don't have any wifi devices then maybe you can just turn off the wifi in the FIOS router. -

Iphone 4 won't download app updates
My iPhone 4 stalls when downloading updates - IOS 6.0.1. The App store finds & lists available updates, but when I click on install the updates freeze and after a while I get a message saying the download can't be completed at this time. This also freezes the app, so in order to use it I have to delete and restore the app. I thought it was a WiFi issue, but this has been happening for a while even after several iPhone resets and while using strong WiFi. Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution?

Since I download the app «Rio de Janeiro Map» on my iPhone by wireless, I m not able to download it on iTunes. It give me a very slow connection (less then 5bits /sec) with an average of 72 hours to download. How can I fix this. iTunes 10.5, iP 4.3.5. When I ty to cancel it, I m not able to do it. Any help please, cause it bloke my synce and froze iTune.
TxiPhone was hacked/jailbroken and through updating iPhone, it is locked back to the original carrier. Give your iPhone back, it is useless for you.

HEY GUYS I AM USING AN IPHONE 3g and when i connect my device to my laptop a dialog box appears saying that an update of 4.2 is available so went for it.after the firmware is downloaded via itunes it shows that the firmware is invalid!.please help.

PLEASE HELP ME.This means that the phone you have was software unlocked to use on any carrier, or hacked. When you installed the update it restored the lock that originaly came with your phone. Not much you can do now. Apple will not support hacked phones. You will need to find out the carrier your phone is locked to and see if they offer official unlocking, or start googling to see if you can find a way to unlock 4.2.

If i backup an app for example Music Downloader as it contains like 300 songs and now i want to replace my iphone 5 so when i restore the app from itunes do i get back all the content in the app or just the app itself ??..

I am not sure whether the music will get restored.
Anyway try this
1.Connect iPhone to PC.
2.Open iTunes
3.Open iPhone Summary
4.Go to Apps Tab
5.Under File Sharing Section Click on Music Downloader
6.Right side if you see your songs click on one song and press (CTRL + A).(hope you are using windows) and click on save and then save to a folder on your computer.
7. Later just do steps till 5 to put to new iPhone then ...........
8.Click on save and select the music files which u want to put in that app.
9.Click on apply to sync.
10.You should be having the music in that app
