IPhone emails not working for 2 accounts?

Hi all...
running an iPhone account thru our mail.domianname.com INCOMING email servers for one account is fine, ie you can just tap and emails are delv'd to the iPhone. Yet another account set up exactly same way on anothter iPhone for another user at that same domain (set them both up using exactly same config except for account name/pw) does not work. I continue to get a "can't connect to the server" notice...
can i ask (both are POP accts) why that might be? also, how can I change from a POP account to try the IMAP settings...

For the problem account, try deleting and recreating the account.

If the email account provider for the email account supports accessing the account as an IMAP account or as a POP account, you can't change the settings for an account from POP to IMAP after the account has been created as a POP account. You must delete and recreate the account choosing IMAP as the account type when prompted along with having the account settings for creating and accessing the account as an IMAP account.

    Typically, you see "alias not found" or some permissions or quota issue here, but this issue is NOT the same as those. In this case NO additional information is provided in ULS.
    Edit: running stsadm.exe -o refreshdms -url http://one/failing/site fixed some similar issues where "Unknown alias" was
    reported even though the list did have an alias (see here:http://blogs.technet.com/b/vinitt/archive/2009/07/15/e-mail-enabled-list-alias-information-is-not-synchronized-between-configuration-database-and-content-database.aspx).
    This did not fix the issue for the case mentioned above.
    What could possibly be the issue preventing incoming email from working on this one web application?

    Thanks for your reply.  Incoming E-Mail was running on all 3 WFE, however I do not think this was the cause.  As noted, _other_ emails send to http://workingapp are working just fine.  I can send two emails - one to a library on http://workingapp
    and another on http://notworkingapp.  The email to http://notworkingapp will sit in the drop folder, while the one to http://workingapp will be processed correctly.  In addition, the ULS log on WFE1 indicates an attempt to process the file fails.
     So clearly, the timer job on WFE1 is running and attempting to process the file.  For kicks, I disabled the service on WFE2 and WFE3, but with no change in the behavior.
    WRT to #1, I have done this already (as noted in the original post).  I can remove an alias from http://workingapp and place it on http://nonworkingapp and it is not processed.  If I return it to http://workingapp it is processed.  In other
    words, I go into Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a working library, and copy the alias, then disable incoming email for that library.  I then go to Library Settings -> Incoming Email for a non-working library, enable incoming email, and paste
    the alias.  Once done, emails sent to the alias are not processed.  I then do the reverse, and it works again.
    On #2, I have already tried multiple libraries on http://nonworkingapp (also as noted in the original post).
    In my environment, incoming email does not work for any library on http://nonworkingapp, but does work for any library on http://workingapp.  Troubleshooting listed above has ruled out any problem with basic mail server configuration or library settings
    - the problem is bound to http://nonworkingapp
    I'm not sure what you mean by "steps to reproduce the issue".  If I knew that, I would probably be able to solve the issue.  The best I could come up with to describe the situation would be:
    Set up SP 2010 in a three-node configuration with multiple web apps
    Enable incoming email and confirm it works
    Migrate to a SP2013 SP1 farm in a three node configuration.
    Enable a new email alias for a library
    Observe that it doesn't work for one web application.
    Obviously, it's pretty unlikely that attempting that in a lab would actually have the same result.

  • IPhone email not working on 3G/4G

    Hi Everyone
    I’m having a problem with accessing email on the IPhones over the 3G/4G network
    The email addresses are setup for IMAP and are put on a mixture of mobile phones however quite  a large amount of them are on the IPhone 4s/5. The IPhones could access the emails without any problems through both wifi and 3G/4G until a few days ago when the 3G stopped working.
    I checked a few things on the email accounts which was ok, Firstly I deleted the email addresses and re added them to IPhone and restarted, no luck, the users who have the IPhones have upgraded to IOS7 but this issue seemed to start before they upgraded, I spoke to EE (the mobile provider) who advised me to speak to Apple who advised to do a network settings reset which did not work and  then they advised doing a full factory reset, which I have not tried yet but that does seem extreme  to access emails over the 3G connection working
    Other phones synch/access the email fine over 3G/4G such as htc’s, samsungs and sony ericssons, and Blackberrys so the server and the settings are ok, we are just having  this problem with the Iphone’s

    I had a similar problem with emails not sending on 3G, which must have started at about the same time, although it took a while to notice as emails were swooshing on send and not reporting any failure. But they weren't getting to people and on closer inspection they weren't going into sent folders. I'm on EE too, with an iPhone 4.
    Anyhow, I found someone saying they had solved a similar problem by ejecting and reinserting the sim, and that's just worked for me.

  • My Original Apple ID which I'm using since I bought my IPhone is not working for activation, what should I do?

    I have unlocked iPhone 4S which I bought in Jan 2011 from store in Saudi Arabia... Since I bought my iPhone and it is linked to my Apple ID... Lately I moved from my Country Egypt to Slovakia so I didn't take my Egyptian Vodafone SIM Card with me as I will buy a Slovakian one...
    Days ago before buying a new SIM Card, iTunes found new update IOS 7.0.4 and after installing the update my iPhone restarted and started to take me through activation... The activation needed a SIM Card so I bought Telefonica O2 SIM Card and I tried to continue the activation... At the step of writing my Apple ID and my Passowrd, I wrote them right but an error window appeard saying that incorrect Apple ID and my Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPhone...
    I checked my Apple ID on iTunes and iCloud to make sure that my password and my account are ok and it was working... I thought it might be a problem with the SIM Card so I went to O2 customer service and they said that the problem is not with the SIM Card as the SIM Card is working so they can not do anything for me... On the window of activation logging in there is link "activation help" and by clicking it after typing my Apple ID and password, a window appears saying that my iPhone could not be activated because activation server cannot be reached and asking me to try activating on iTunes or trying again later and if this problem persists I should contact Apple support...
    I tried activating on iTunes and the same message appeared that my Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPhone and I tried activating many times for two days on my iPhone and iTunes and nothing is working... I also tried to call Apple service number in Slovakia (0800004640) and they said for iPhone I should contact my carrier network which I contacted already and they didn't help at all as I mentioned before... In the end of my tries I went to iCloud finder to find my iPhone on my account and I didnt find it there because I never set up iCloud on my iPhone before...
    I don't know really what to do as I'm the first and the only owner and my Apple ID is the only linked to this iPhone, even on the window of activation logging in it is written there that this iPhone is currently linked to an Apple ID (b*****@yahoo.com) which is true ... This iPhone is unlocked one and it was working in Saudi Arabia and Egypt with various SIM Cards... In the end thanks for reading and I hope to find a solution for this problem...

    My iPhone was connected to a wifi internet when I tried to activate it and when I tried activation by iTunes I was using my laptop with windows 7 which was connected to internet by cable.
    I updated my iPhone to IOS 7 when I was in Egypt and I had no problems with updating it and I can't remember if finding my iPhone option was on or off before updating to IOS 7 and as i understood from searching internet that to use iCloud Finder on web from computer to find my iPhone it should be set up already on my iPhone and I didn't set up iCloud on my iPhone before and my Apple ID wasn't verified for iCloud till today, I verfied it by logging in iCloud from a friend iPad.
    I was considering already the option that my iPhone has been hacked but if this happened so how I would unlock my iPhone and activate it to back to work? who would help me with that? I'm so tired of being without my phone for almost 4 days and I started to consider not having any Apple product anymore... I think that this way to secure the consumer has a lot of conflicts...

  • Exchange 2013 OOF not working for migrated accounts

    We are having a problem with the Out of Office responses in Exchange 2013. 
    We are getting the error “Your automatic reply settings cannot be displayed because the server is currently unavailable. 
    Try again later.”  I have been through several help articles that I found on the internet and so far none have resolved the problem. 
    Autodiscover is working as expected when connecting an Outlook client – and I can access the url identified by the “Test Email AutoConfiguration” tool for OOF – it returns the xml document as expected. New accounts created in this domain work, but the
    problem occurs accounts that were migrated from Server 2003 domain running Exchange 2007. I can also access the OOF settings for a migrated account using OWA. The new domain is 2012 and Exchange 2013 and accounts are being migrated using ADMT through a trust,
    which is working as expected.  Only the accounts have been migrated (not mailboxes) and I am not planning to connect the old exchange to the new to do mailbox moves – instead I am just planning to export psts from the old Exchange 2007 server
    and then import them to the 2013 server.  The client dns settings are correct and all other connectivity seems fine. 
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.  I have also tried creating a new Outlook profile, turning off Cached Mode, and creating an entirely new Windows profile and Outlook profile. 
    I have also tried using Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013. 

    I solved this - EWS was disabled for the mailbox.  Set-CASMailbox -Identity User -EWSEnabled $true fixed the problem.

    I have a scenario where the GL account balance in ECC is 0  and when a script logic runs in BPC the same should capture a closing balance as "1".
    Though I have written the below logic, this is not getting executed and writing back the value as "1".

    Merger of the client happened in 2007. ECC is using the " 20300000- change in fair value " account to record both pre-acquisition and post-acquisition values.
    Since the treatment of pre-consolidation and post consolidation reserves is different the split of the amount between pre and post-acquisition values has to be done. For the same post acquisition value is reduced from this account using a script logic as below.

    For making this work, I am trying to write a new logic to make the balance of this account as "1" in BPC through the script logic.

  • Retention Policy not working for OWA accounts

    I have Exchange 2010 running, with 100% of users using OWA, not Outlook as their mail client.
    I have one use that wants to have messages in all his folders deleted at the end of each day.  Specifically, these folders are under the Inbox, but are subfolders in the Inbox, not the Inbox itself.
    I set up a retention policy tag with the Tag Type "All other Folders in the Mailbox", with age limit for retention for 1 day, and the action to delete and allow recovery.
    Then I applied the Retention policy just to that one users.
    The next morning, all the messages from the day before were still there.  Did I miss something in the setup?
    Does the "1 day" retention delete messages after 24 hours of the message being there, or at the end of each day can I have it delete all the previous messages?
    Does this have something to do with the fact that we are running OWA, not Outlook?  I can right click on the folders and view retention policy...it just says "Use Parent Folder Policy"...nowhere can I find the parent folders policy.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    For your retention policy not working issue, we can try the following troubleshooting:
    1. Please check whether it has Event ID 9017 and 9018, to make sure the MRM working well.
    2. Please check the Managed Folder Assistant service is working well.
    3. Please use MFCMAPI Tool to check the "PR_MESSAGE_DELIVERY_TIME" and "PR_CREATION_TIME" properties on the items that should be removed.

  • Internet not working for limited accounts ....

    My sister is a 30 year employee of "Big Blue". She recently purchased an iMac for her kids, and called me in a tizzy last night. We solved a number of small misconceptions, however, there is one major issue, I can't quite figure out.
    She was having extremely slow internet speed. Compared settings etc to her PC's, and all was correctly setup. It sounded like a DNS timeout issue, and I found this link: http://technocrat.net/d/2008/8/23/48134
    which indeed solved her slowness problem.
    However, what's very strange, and I can't seem to find any solution online is that she made the internet settings changes to use the OpenDNS servers in her privileged account. Now, when she logs out, and logs back in into one of her children's accounts, there is no internet connectivity at all.
    Safari immediately comes up with a a "server not found" error. Instantaneously.
    Checking the network panel, all the settings made in her admin account are still set.
    Any thoughts?

    Actually the OpenDNS settings carried through, we did verify them in the Network panel, although we specifically did not attempt to re-enter the values, as they were in place.
    Prior to the change to OpenDNS in the admin account, all accounts worked, although all of them worked slowly. I would have expected that if it were a matter of the settings not carrying over, that the other accounts would have continued to work, albeit slowly. Instead these accounts have stopped working completely.
    I will, however, have my sister double check, and re-enter those values.

  • Keyboard shortcuts from Greek Input not working for my account only

    I just upgraded to Leopard from Tiger 10.4.11 on my MBP 2.4 listed below. The Installer took care of everything, and after it was finished, my own account, the only Admin account, misbehaves when it comes to keyboard shortcuts in the Finder or any other app. To use the shortcuts, the Input flag must US English. If it's Greek, nothing works.
    If I switch to the other two accounts on my Mac, one of which was carried over from the Tiger setup, the other I setup after the OS upg, both of which are Std accounts, not Admin, shortcuts work regardless of the keyboard input flag.
    Tips, anyone?

    Ran Leopard Cache Cleaner, and selected from Caches the third option (deep clean).

    I just downloaded viber on my iphone 4s. It's working fine when i text and call through viber on other iphones. However, for someone using xperia, my viber status appear to be offline on their viber and they can't text or call me through viber on their xperia phone.     Viber isn't an Apple product. You need to get support for this app from the Viber developers.  You can find their developer contact info in the App Store listing

    When I'm using the Mail app, it won't recognize my @mac.com accounts password and I can't get my mail.
    It is the same password I use to log on here, why doesn't it work?

    why not delete the account in your mail app and add it again.
    that way, you can add your new password when you re-enter your account in your mail app/program.

  • Is there a reason Find my iPhone is not working for either iPhone or iPad (iOS5)?

    Neither of my Apple mobile products can be seen by Find My iPhone.  They show up as either "No Location Available" on the iPhone (it can't see itself or the iPad) or as "offline" on the computer iCloud app.

    Since you have iCloud on your iOS devices, it should be available on your Mac now.
    Open System Preferences > iCloud and select: Find My Mac
