IPhone Repair Service

Hi!
I sent my iPhone 4S for a repair. And now it says "Replacement pending". My iPhone was 100% completely new-looking. But I am a bit consirned about a replacement since it's usually a refurb. Is it true that they have new bezel, glasscovers and buttons? If so then that's fine, but if not then I'd be disappointed.
Thank you all!

I have had 2 x refurbs under warranty over time
There is no way anyone could tell the difference all external bits are new and the unit is tested to a higher level than a normal production apparently

  • I am suspicious that qualified repair service of Apple with name Lydia in Turkey stole my parts in iPhone

    Hi everyone!
I bought my iPhone 5 from Covent Garden Apple Store in London. I am still keeping the receipt with me. Due to my problem with sleep wake button, i would like to have repair service and i found out that it is in the change program. For this reason i gave my phone to Lydia Service in Ankara in Turkey. I left my phone in the repair service and later they called me and informed me that my iPhone was opened before and two screws holding my iPhone screen are missing. I didn't give my iPhone before to any repairman and it was opened first time by Lydia Service. They refused to repair it, because due to opening of my iPhone before, took out my phone from the change program. Now there is no warranty. I really ****** of as my iPhone was opened by them first time.
I am suspicious that one of the guy from this service made some mistake and by lying to me, he try to save himself. Even i am suspicious that he stole some parts from my iPhone. I opened a ticket in Apple support. The Apple support guy told me to give my phone back to Lydia service again. I refused since two screws  are missing and i would not like to lose other parts of my iPhone. I am not thrusting Lydia service in Turkey any more. I provided my phone to another service and they took photos to send to apple. At that time the guy who is taking care of my case went to vacation without providing the contact detail of the person replacing him. Finally i find the replacement employee's contact detail, but he is not responding. My iPhone is still not with me. No one is responding from Apple.
First, As a customer who can protect me from this kind of people in Lydia Service? Lydia service opened the case of  my iPhone  and they are saying two screws are missing which means for me that they stole them and they took it out from the warranty.
Secondly, why this customer support for Turkey is not responding although i have an open  ticket in their system. Why they don't have quality of control in their support system? I really ****** off. I don't know how to solve my problem, is there any way to escalate the issue? Any advice is more than welcome.
Ps: Also there is a possibility of assembling my iPhone without these two screws during the production phase which is unlikely to happen.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Has anyone used Timpsons phone repair service for a replacement screen on iPhone 4S?

My iPhone 4S has a. cracked screen, but still works OK.
Can anyone comment on Timpsons repair service?  It will cost £40 for the repair, but they do use real glass, not just a plastic screen.

If your phones is in waranty then thats a bad move. Other wise I cannot comment on non Apple repairs, and dont feel this forum is the best place for that. iPhones use specially toughened  glass with a Oleophobic coating, I would not trust 'glass' to be that. Also if you break your phones dies and you need a out of warranty replacement you wont get one buy going down this path.

  • Iphone 4 Repair Service

My iP4 was stolen, and since then I have gotten a replacement. I was just sent an email about a repair service on my stolen iP4. I was wondering if there was anything that could possibly be done? I know I should have put find my iPhone on my stolen phone but I did not & I thought it was a lost cause. But I'm just wondering if there is still hope? I have an employee ID number & the store that it was fixed at.

  • What should I do!? - Sketchy Apple Repair Service

What should I do about this? Should I contact Apple Support or Verizon and let them know what has happened? Please help!
I have just been through a horrible repair service request. I sent my iPhone 5S in for service about two weeks ago because there has been dust trapped under the backface camera lense since I got the phone. The dust sometimes causes problems with the photos, and disrupts the autofocus function. I had previously sent my iPhone 4 in through Apple's mail-in repair service two years ago, as the mute-switch did not work out of the box. The service was excellent, the phone was replaced, and I had clear instructions on what to do in order to get my device working again when the new one was received. This time, this was not the case. Not at all.
I got my comfirmation email from AppleCare for the service request, which listed the "reported issue" as "device will not power on", after I had just reported it as "dust under camera lense". A red flag immediately went up for me; this was not the issue I had just submitted! They also listed my product as "iPhone 5" in the first email, then "iPhone 5S" in a second email saying a box was on its way.
So I got the box, followed the instuctions to back up the phone, erase all content and settings, and pack it into th box. I soon noticed the issue on the box was listed as "iPhone will not power off". The funny thing is, I had just got a third email saying the issue was "Dust under camera lense". I was so incredibly confused, but I packed the phone up and sent it anyways.
I got another email when the device was received by the AppleCare screening facility. It said diagnostics would begin. That very same night, I got another email saying "Despite rather extensive testing by our team, we were unable to duplicate the reported issue 'Dust under camera lense'. Please provide us with additional information to duplicate the issue."
I was a little bit dissapointed, because I thought my initial description to "replicate the reported issue" was pretty clear. So I elaborated. I explained what types of light the dust and small fiber under the bakcface camera could be seen in. AppleCare asked me "what software does this affect?" So I explained how it affected the camera apps. They then told me they would do additional testing.
After one more day, I received an email stating "We have determined your issue is not covered under warrenty, and it would be less expensive for you to simply purchase a new device, rather than have us repair your current one." There was no way I was paying $700 for a replacement, when in my previous experience the devices I sent apple were replaced or repaired free of charge. If my warrenty states that my iPhone is "free of defects" until the warrenty expires, why is this not considered a defect? Or is it simply that I got some lazy employee, who didn't care to fully evaluate my product and issue? Read on, my experience gets even better!
So, I opted to just have the device returned to me. I was told in one of the emails I could take it into an Apple Store (which is 4+ hours away from where I live) anyways. So, the device returned to me today. I opened the box to find the battery completely depleted. I proceeded to plug the phone into my computer and charge it. So, the device powers back on. iTunes prompts me "Allow access to this iPhone?" I choose yes, then I am told to "Respond on the iPhone". To my utter dismay yet again, the phone has been passcoded. I could not access the phone at all, and it had not been erased when sent back to me. So, being as intuitive as I am, I type in "1, 2, 3, 4" as the passcode. The phone unlocks. Curious, I opened the photo app. I find picutres taken with both the front and back cameras of various colors and squares printed out onto papers, and a few up-close pictures of a rather scrubby looking asian man's face.
At this point I am completely fed up with my service. I erased the phone, and proceeded with the setup screen. Upon asking if I would like to restore my backup from iCloud, I am prompted to enter the AppleID password for some strange AppleID that is not mine, and is an @hotmail.com address. I could very well disclose the address here but probably shouldnt. So instead, I restored the backup from iTunes I had made, and put my sim card back into the phone. I have all of my content and settings back now, am am right back where I started; but I am left to ponder on what course of action to take regarding this very scary experience.
What should I do? Should I contact Apple Support or Verizon and let them know what has happened? Please, your help is important to me!

First I would have returned the iPhone to Verizon the minute I discovered dust under the camera lens and had them replace it with a new on.
Second, the instant there was a problem with sending it in I would have used a telephone and called AppleCare and discussed the issue with them.
Do the pictures that are on the phone show any of the issues you claim are present?
Incidentally, you can do an out-of-warranty replacement of the iPhone for $269 USD, not $700.
But finally, I would call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to Customer Service. Give them your service number and go over each of your complaints with them.

  • Where do I complain about Indian iPhone customer service?

I really don't know where I'm supposed to complain the handling of customer service in India.
Let me explain the situation and perhaps someone can send me to the right place.
My housemate's sister bought an official Vodafone iPhone 3G in August. Last week, it stopped working. No Service, no matter the SIM card. I told her to give it to me for a couple days, let me update the firmware and see if that doesn't fix it.
It didn't fix it. Clearly a hardware problem. Never hacked or anything. Just stopped working, flat out.
So, she took it to the place that she bought it from. She no longer has the receipt, so they wouldn't help her. It's CLEARLY an iPhone 3G, so it's CLEARLY under warranty (since the phone came out less than a year ago). But, still, they told her to go to Vodaphone and have them repair it or replace it.
Vodaphone, wouldn't budge without the receipt, even though it's CLEARLY a Vodaphone iPhone and, again, CLEARLY less than a year old (and, therefore, still under warranty).
So, I called Apple support, the number printed on the iPhone box. They directed me to another number, which nobody answered. I called the first number back; they gave me a third number which didn't work at all. I called them again and they gave me AppleCare's number.
Now, I thought, we're finally getting somewhere. Apple will surely be able to rectify this.
"Press 1 for iPod, Press 2 for iPhone." I pressed 2. I got a message saying "Please contact your service provider for iPhone support" and promptly hung up on me.
So, I called the first number again, and they gave me yet another number (corporate office, I guess) that also told me to call AppleCare. They said I had to press 9.
9 was not an actual option.
I finally got through to someone when I called AppleCare and pressed 1 for iPod. I complained and complained, after which they told me they'd transfer me to the iPhone department.
Why can't you access the iPhone department directly? Because it's not actually in India; it's in Brisbane, Australia.
The guy I spoke to in Brisbane informed me that Vodafone must honor the warranty since it is obviously a Vodafone iPhone (it only activates with a Vodafone SIM and rejects all other companies), and is obviously less than a year old. Apparently, they are responsible for service.
However, to be safe, take a photo id, he said, since you can't find your sales receipt. It shouldn't matter, though, he said.
I wish that someone would tell Vodafone that, though. They refused to honor it because:
    1) They couldn't find the IMEI (I wasn't there to throw it in their face, both on the box and in the Settings>General>About). They only know to look for it on the SIM tray (which had been replaced way back in August because it was loose)
    2) When they found the IMEI on the box, they couldn't find it in their computers.
    3) They couldn't prove it was a Vodafone iPhone (again, I wasn't there to show them how it reacts with any other SIM when connected to iTunes. That's proof enough that it's Vodafone).
My housemate went to the largest Vodafone in Mumbai (Peninsula Chambers) and the manager refused to speak to her (he wasn't in the store, only on the phone. However, he refused to talk to her even when speaking to his lackeys for twenty minutes).
This is a 16GB iPhone, retailing for the equivalent of $700 US (Rs.36,100). The phone is under warranty and never been hacked or tampered with. And yet, no one in this country will honor its warranty and take care of it. Not because of anything but sheer bureaucracy and ignorance.
I mean, seriously, they can't even tell it's a Vodafone iPhone? They can't find the IMEI that's PRINTED on the box and in the Settings?
Who do we talk to to get this iPhone repaired/replaced? $700 is a lot of money for a phone that should be covered under its warranty.
If you could direct me to an email address/phone number both at Apple and whomever at Vodafone to rectify this, the help would be unbelievably appreciated.
Also, if someone at Apple can step up the quality of customer service in India for Vodafone and Airtel (it's the same phone number for each provider), please do. Airtel cannot even call the AppleCare number (it's an 800 number which can only be accessed by landlines and Vodafone customers. I've had this issue when trying to repair my MBP), let alone get through to anybody to fix anything.
    thanks.

Right. So you're telling me that Apple has left someone in charge who is totally screwing their customers' experience and no one at Apple will help reign them in and set them straight?
I guarantee you that she's not the only person who's had this experience and it **** well sours me from buying another iPhone if I know it won't be taken care of if something goes wrong.
I've posted this to let Apple know there's something woefully wrong with their partner and to get that fixed as well. I know Vodafone is the one I'm supposed to deal with; I just want that to be improved.

  • Where can I find an authorised iPhone repair shop in Indonesia?

I bought my iPhone 5s in a bundled package from Indonesia's largest carrier on 28 January 2014 at its Jakarta office and its still under warranty except for user mistake.
My iphone fell in a swimming pool in Bali and is now not working and  am scared to plug it in again as people say it can blow up terminally so should get checked at  repair shop. My mistake, but i want to pay an authorised apple service center and look at it to seek what can be done. Of course its at my cost.
Ido not want to bring it to any unqualified or untrained technician who could do potentially more damage
The carrier's branch in Bali said to go to the only major retailer who does repairs here but they refused me as they only repair the ones they sell directly.
Then I called the carrier head office in Jakarta and they referred me to the supplier/importer that they partnered with in the bundling of the package (included purchase of phone and one year mobile and internet service all paid for in up front lump sum payment.)
This company said they do repairs under warranty but only if the damage is not the fault of the user - so they could not try to repair it even though I offered to pay. They wont accept it. They said the only ones they look at are under warranty and they usually just replace them, not repair them. They said my only solution with them was to buy a new iPhone from them.
After calling around to many iPhone retail outlets, none offered repair services and referred me back to the same carrier who already said they could not help
I then called the pple support number listed under the apple support website - 001803657955 and a subsequent number given me on the call 0018030612009 and after following a few prompts got the message to call my carrier - back to square one.
Please, Please, Please tell me where I can put my Iphone to an authorised iPhone repair shop in Indonesia where they can inspect it professionally and either fix it or tell me its terminally dead. I am quite prepared to pay for this.
Apple, please tell me where to go.

There are different levels of damage according to how wet it gets.  and some friends who got their iPhone wet were able to get it going again when they took it to Singapore.
THe he problem I have is that there is Zero Apple authorised repair service for ANY problem one has with an IPhone if it is not covered by warranty. You cannot pay to have service on and IPhone if it is not working for ANY reason if it is out of warranty period or if still under warranty but not working through fault of user. No matter how much you want to pay they won't open it up and check it out.
SO now there are some small businesses who see this gap in Apples service to customers and offer to repair services themselves. With wet IPhones I heard they mainly open it up and dry it out with alcohol. And sometimes this works. But none have received training from Apple so it's a cowboy business and results are uncertain.
imagine if an automobile brand refused to support paid repairs for motor vehicles out of warranty period.
the cost of a new IPhone 5s here is $950, and it seems the new IPhone 6 will be out in one month, so it seems crazy to buy a new IPhone 5  now.

  • Pay for repair service available at Apple?

Totally teardown a iphone 4, but start no GSM service or 1 bar of GSM service signal, Apple accept pay for repair service if device teardown and broken by self?

They probably wont fix it for you because i don't think their trained or equipped for that but they'll probably take in your warranty voided iPhone 4 and give you a replacement unit for about $200.

So apple is going to ship a box and i have to put my iP4 in there?
Do i need to include cables?
I still have repair service thingi and will expire next year so will they fix/replace it for free?
    Please reply ASAP!

I believe if you do the advanced replacement by paying 29.99 they will send you a replacment phone, and they will also include the white box so that upon receiving your replacement, you put your old one in the white box and send the phone. I believe they will charge you 599 on your credit card account for the time being but once they receive your defected iphone/broken within 10 days, the 599 will no longer be held and pretty much you get the 599 back. You don't need to send the cable or anything, just the phone itself.

  • Submerged iPhone - repair possible

My iPhone was submerged while on. I am pretty sure it is a total loss. I let it dry out, then plugged it in - all it does is get really hot.
My problem is that I live abroad (no Apple stores here) and I need to get a repair estimate or a statement that it cannot be repaired in order for my credit card to cover the damage. Is this possible without visiting an apple store? (Even just a conditional statement that said if it was submerged it will not be repairable would suffice.)
    Thanks
    -TD

you will find all the contact information under support at apple.com -- they don't respond to e-mail, you need to talk to support who will tell you about their repair service.
Repairs, either out of warranty or for something you break yourself (like submerging it) are 250.00 plus shipping.
Note that they won't really repair your iPhone -- they will just send out a new one.
If you are using a sim-unlocked phone overseas then you are out of luck, since the new one they send you will not work with anything but ATT.

  • Does Anyone Feel That Palm's Repair Service Seems Shaky?

My Palm TX suffered from the same headphone socket defect that many other TX owners posted about.  The socket worked fine for a while but then the internal switch jammed and the external speaker no longer worked.  I made a call to service and set up a repair.  It sounded simple enough. Ship the unit to us and we will fix it. A person by the name of "Nobody" from Innovate-It.com sent me the SRO number and shipping details on 11/25 and off I went to the post office on 11/26. I shipped it USPS with tracking, delivery confirmation and insurance.  The post office tracking was going well until 11/26 when the message "Missent" appeared in the tracking information. Missent? Where did it go?Then on 12/01 the message "Notice Left" came up in the activity alerts.  Where exactly is the repair center that no one was there at 12:15 p.m.? It sounded like they were dropping it off at someone's house and no one was home.
Here is what I know so far about Palm's repair service.  From what I have researched, Innovate-It is a repair logistics subset of a Netherlands-based software development company and has other clients besides Palm.  (Why does everything need to be outsourced? I would pay more for a Palm if they would just keep tech support in-house. But in this global economy nothing is 100% "Made in USA" anyway so it comes as no surprise).
The unit was finally delivered on 12/02 but the Self Service page did not indicate "In Repair" until 12/08 at 2:33 p.m.  and it has not changed since. How long does it take to diagnose a simple audio circuit?  If people have been able to remedy this issue with WD-40 on a Q-Tip WITHOUT opening the unit, what is the holdup at the repair center for a warranty repair in which it is OK to open the casing? Furthermore, the confirmation email says that DHL is supposed to deliver the unit back to me and the Self Service page gives a tracking link page for FedEx.  I am worried about my TX getting home at all.  Aren't there any repair centers in the Chicagoland area authorized by Palm?
To summarize  We spend enough on the unit itself and then have to pay to ship it to a repair facility to which no contact is possible and our only indication anything is going on is Self Service screen that gives little details about where a work order is in the cue, what the turnaround time will be, and when it will be returned. "No need to call us[?]" I think the repair facility needs to have a contact number available for customers to check on their repairs.  A total quality product includes the people who stand behind it.  That includes support and repair personnel.  Right now, service is not scoring points with me.
UPDATE: PLEASE SEE MY NEW THREAD "Palm's Shaky Repair Service Has Found Solid Ground". The rapid response to this message impressed me, and I felt it was appropriate to acknowledge their efforts.

After Creating a new document or editing an old document in Pages on my iPad I no longer see the changes in Pages on my iPhone. iCloud services are on with both devices.

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).
