Iphoto wont close or respond to any commands
iphoto wont close or respond to any commands....idk what to do?
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on eight different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.

Front Row don't respond to any command
Front Row stopped responding to any command via keyboard. It can be activated by cmd-esc, but up/down/esc when inside are completely unresponsive. I have to quit front row by alt-cmd-esc.
I tried deleting/reinstalling Front Row 2.1.2 to no avail.
10.5 Leopard install was upgraded from 10.4.
Front Row also crashed once which I had to do a system Reset. Crash report below. I appreciate any help or thought on why Front Row is completely unresponsive to keyboard.

Message was edited by: dWonIf you use the Accounts System Preferences to create a new user, then log out and log in as the new user, do they encounter the same trouble? If not, then it would seem to be a problem with your preferences/settings or some of your media. If you do encounter the same trouble, then there's some kind of system-wide problem that might require re-installing Mac OS X.
Before you go quite that far, is all your software up-to-date with the new Front Row? iTunes? iPhoto? QuickTime? Also, what kind of Mac is this on? Your profile says Mac Pro (2008) but those wouldn't have had Mac OS X 10.4.x on them at all...

iphoto wont close and it wont open i pushed command and alt and clicked on it and it still wont do anything...two boxes are open to chose a photo library and it wont let me do anything
Command + Opt (Alt) + Esc will bring up the force quit box, can you quit from there?

My mini ipod appears off and not respond to any commands when pressed the buttons to reset, apple logo appeared and then the apple support site and it shuts down. already tried all the steps, but none worked, and when I plug it into my computer it does not appear in the iTunes bar. what do I do?
If MacKeeper corrupted the Recovery partition then even I underestimated its potential for damage. Garbage "cleaning" apps will cause misery but I have not found that the Recovery partition to have been affected by using MacKeeper or anything like it. I doubt that it did so, but I have learned not to underestimate the potential for such things to result in system corruption.
Before concluding your Mac has a hardware failure, try booting OS X Internet Recovery by holding command option r on startup (three fingers). That will force your iMac to bypass the Recovery partition altogether, and convey the ability to create a new one.
An Internet connection will be required (wired or wireless).
At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red. If Disk Utility reports "The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK" in green then you can be reasonably (though not completely) assured your hard disk is in good working order.
Assuming the HD remains usable you can then use Disk Utility to erase it. Reinstall OS X, restore your essential software and other files, and don't reinstall the junk. -
ITouch won't respond to any commands
I was playing music and now my ITouch will not respond to any touch commands.
The "Genius Playlists" window came up telling me that it is not enabled. I click the OK, but it doesn't respond.
The same song keeps playing over and over and it will not respond to any commands.
HELP!All I can suggest is the standard troubleshooting steps in order. A Restart or Reset will probably fix it.
Restart your iPod: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset your iPod: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Restore your iPod: Restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Make an appointment to have an Apple Retail Store Genius look at your iPod. http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ -

Thanks...I'm a dunce. I shut down again, and that did solve the problem. Thanks for your help.

Firefox does not crash but it 'freezes'. I cannot do anything with it then (it may be closed only from the task manager). Upon each subsequent opening the problem reappears (the fourth day in a row).
Haroon mentions two solutions. I used the easier one, which is to start the Apache webserver already in Mountain Lion and to enable the php already in Mountain Lion. It worked. I see the file correctly displayed with html, css, and php. I see the page by using Firefox. I enter an address in the address bar. For example, the address might be "localhost/example/example.php". I cannot see the page by using Firefox's "Open File ..." menu option or by dragging the file's icon onto Firefox's icon. I tried using your solution also but was unable to find the specific preference to modify. I found the page of preferences which may be modified but I could not find the one I need. I found a list of descriptions of the preferences at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries
but I could not find the specific preference which I need.
By the way, to enable loading the php module, one uncomments a line of code by deleting the initial "#" character, and one does that by pressing control key and "P" key while the cursor is over the "#" character.
Also by the way, when I use Firefox or Safari to look at the Apache web directory in which my files are, the files are listed case sensitively. For example, the files are listed: Ace, Zygote, bar. This is because lower case follows upper case. THis annoys me. I prefer case insensitive listing. When I llok directly athe directory without using a browser, the files are listed case insensitively. For example, they are listed: Ace, bar, Zygote. I guess taht Apache is doing this. -
Once I download the update (OS X Yosemite, 10.10.3, Recovery Update 1.0), after the system automatically restarts, the launch page is "Software Update Launcher." Looks like a typical menu bar, and the rest of the screen is blank. None of the commands work, though. Even trying to shut down via the menu doesn't work, and the only way to get past the page is a hard shutdown and restart. Once restarting, everything works as it should EXCEPT the update did not install.
This same thing happened with the previous Yosemite update, and I wound up taking the laptop to the Genius bar where no one was familiar with the error. After running virtually every diagnostic, removing a suspected out of date security application (Intego), the decision was to restore the Mac to factory pristine state. OUCH.
We have a MacBook Air, which has the same OS version and security and other third party software as the Pro, and it has not experienced this problem.
I've made another appointment at the Genius Bar, but I sure as heck don't relish the idea of having to wipe my Pro clean again and having to start all over. Time Machine backups are great, but they don't restore my system as though nothing happened.
Any suggestions or proven remedies??
Thanks.Another thing that is probably relevant now that I think of it:
I forgot that the xcode_3.2.6_and_ios_sdk_4.3.dmg file would not open on it's own. It would get all the way through the verification process and then display "invalid checksum". I had selected Skip to bypass the verification process in the hopes that it would install anyways. Just ejected it and tried to verify it again, same "invalid checksum" error.
I've looked for solutions online and everybody just says to keep downloading it/have a wired connection and to use Safari... I've downloaded the thing 5 times now meeting both of those requirements and the exact same issue occurs every time. -
HT4061 My IPAD has frozen and won't respond to any commands
My Ipad has frozen on me and I can't get it to respond.
Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I rec'd a message "is more than 2 wks since iCloud was backed up. I clicked OK. I am not at home, need to get to settings to log on to internet but message won't go away and therefore no response when I try to scroll to page with settings icon or any icon. HELP!
Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

Also iTunes freezes when iPhone is connected to laptop.
Press and hold down the home button and the power button at the top of the phone both at the same time until you see the apple logo appear - this is a reset of the phone and is a good fix for most problems. Its a mini computer and every now and then it needs a reset. - hope this helps - let me know

I clicked on iPhoto by an accident, now it wont close.
iPhoto wont close because it needs to be updated, but it wont let me update it because its open! I have tried the Shift esc thing and the Apple button thing but the whole screen is just frozen... Help? Thank you.
Thank you for the advice, but it hasn't helped.. It's still there! It is stopping me from getting onto the Internet now too! I have tried running the battery out but that hasn't helped either.. Is there anything else that you can suggest? Or should I just take it back to the store?

When I am on the internet, my screen will suddenly scroll all the way to the bottom and will not respond to any commands. All of the other programs are then affected the same way and you cannot even use the commands at the top of the screen becayse they all scroll to the bottom. After a while, the screen resets by itself. Help.
It sounds like a problem wih the backlight inverter. Usually they just go, instead of on and off.
In a dark room hold a flashlight on the display when it blacks out. If you can see the items on the desktop, it's probably the backlight. -

Hi,
Please post the HP product number for your PC. How to Find the HP Model Number and the HP Product Number or let HP automatically find your PC model number and HP network attached printers. This will allow others to review your issue, make suggestions and review your responses. This is usually the best way to get assistance.
If you search the Internet you will find numerous posts and suggestions that describe your situation with many, many different suggestions and possible solutions. You will find pages and pages of suggestions that may or may not solve your problem. There isn't any one time cure all suggestion based on your symptom description. You might want to try a few suggestions and see if you get lucky.
You may need to separate the "wheat from the chaff" (hardware issues from software issues) or you might be chasing the issue for many, many hours.
I have seen hardware failures produce similar issues. You might try running diagnostics for 1-2 hours and see if the diagnostics will detect an issue. Even hardware diagnostics are not a cure all solution for possible hardware issues.
If you can roll your PC back to a known good Windows restore point before the issue started then give that a try. Otherwise back up your data to external media and use the external HP recovery media to bring your PC back to a factory day one condition. Then without loading a lot of software add ons, try some multiple browsing for the time period that the issue typically occurs.
Post your results.

ok.. I'm looking at these solutions and I'm very puzzled why I would purchase a WLC/WCS/AP vs a WLSE/AP solution. First with WLC, i have to deploy multiple WLC's to get global redundancy. Don't need that with AP/WLSE combo. WLSE isn't a global failur
