IPod cycles through charging screens.

Hi. My iPod suddenly froze one day. So I brought it home and let it die. It finnaly died and I hooked it up to my computer. This was about a month or so ago. When I plug it in it goes through the "Low battery please wait" animation, then goes to the white Apple logo.

Hi,
Have a go at the usual way of resetting of the iPod.
If this doesn't work try to reset it while it is connected directly to a socket, then enter the main menu if you can. Then go into disk mode by resetting it - holding the select and play buttons and hold. It should go into disk mode and you can hook it up to the computer and let it recharge.

  • IPod cycles through titles without playing

When I select a playlist, then a song title, the iPod cycles through the titles very fast without playing them then returns me to the menu the catgories menu.
    I have updated everything.
    thanks

Does this happen to your entire collection, or just a playlist?
The reason I ask is,I just solved the same problem that cropped up today on my 3rd Gen iPod.
I purchased 13 songs yesterday with a gift certificate. I created a playlist called "new iTunes" on the iPod. The tracks played fine just this morning (off the iPod itself). This afternoon, they only played through iTunes when the iPod was connected to my computer. Otherwise, the playlist just scrolled like you're describing.
The weird thing was, even if I selected an individual song through the "Songs" or "Artists" menu, it would go back and scroll through the playlist. So I tried deleting the playlist in iTunes.
Now it seems to work fine. Not sure what happened... corrupted playlist maybe? Perhaps deleting the playlist broke the connection between them or something.

  • IPod cycles through songs

My iPod will often times cycle through, show the song titles then reset itself to the menu screen BUT NOT PLAY THE SONGS. I see the song titles going by on the screen, wait for the songs to start but that's it, they don't start.
    What's happening?

  • Ipod froze on "Charged" screen while playing in Bose speaker ipod charger

My ipod was playing in a Bose speaker ipod charger dealy. i wanted to see what band was playing and it was displaying the charger screen. i took it off and trying holding down the select and menu button to restart it and it didn't work. I tried plugging it into my computer and its still not doing anything and it has the charged screen still on.

We had a similar problem. iPod stopped while plugged into the Bose and then indicated that it needed to be charged, but when plugged into computer, was not recognized. A reset solved the problem. Are there issues with playing with the Bose system?

  • HELP!  New Ipod cycles through songs

When a song is selected to play, the Ipod simply goes to that song then starts cycling through every song in the playlist without playing anything. Anyone have an answer?

  • Change the order iPod cycles through the menus

Is there a way to change the order in which the different menu items appear on a 4th gen 20gb iPod? That is - we want to click on "albums" & have it go right to the albums list, bypassing the "artist" category. Make sense? Our music collection is too, um, eclectic for us to be able to find an album based solely on the artist's name.

If you want to change one of the icons on the bottom of the page in the iPod, go to Edit. From that page, if you touch and drag one of the icons you want on the bottom of the page over one of the icons you do not want there. It will replace it. Also, if you touch and drag an icon on the bottom of the page, it will change positions.
Once you touch done, it will end up like you want. On the page that comes up when you first touch the iPod, if you are looking at More, I do not see a way to change that order, it appears to be in alphabetical order.
    Hope that helps.

  • When I press play on my iPod the only the thing that happens the songs cycle through the current playlist instead of playing the audio. How do I fix this?

Ever since this morning I synced my ipod to my computer all that happens is the ipod cycles through the songs in the current selected playlist. No audio or anything. All the songs that are in my song libraries and are synced to my ipod properly. I did not disconnect the cable whiile it was syncing. It has been a long time since I synced it. Why is my ipod doing this? This ipod is the current ipod classic with 160 GB. Please help

Thank you, when I meant by I haven't synced with my library in a long time. I meant the day before this morning. So I already synced it and I am not hearing any audio when I press play. Right now I am in front of a mac at my job and I have synced and ejected it from a different computer and it still isn't working. Does this have anything to do with the fact that it might have something to do with my music library at my home computer?

  • IPod rolls through various icons - won't mount

    Hi!
I am trying to help a friend with his iPod click wheel. It stopped mounting on his PC and just gives the exclamation mark and folder. I tried it on my mac, and it cycles through 3 screens - the 'do not disconnect', the exclamation mark and folder, and the Apple logo. It's not recognised anywhere (desktop, iTunes, Disk Utility, iPod Updaters.)
There is a clicking noise, and I can put it into Disk Mode, but other than dropping it on the floor or sending it off for £150 repair, does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Josh

I just don't get computers sometimes (even after being a software developer for over 25 years).
I had restarted the computer multiple times while installing other software but the iPod would not mount.
I took your suggestion to try another USB device and the only other device I had was a Canon scanner. I installed the drivers which required another restart. And the scanner worked and now the iPod works on all of the USB ports. It is mounted in iTunes and I can sync it on any port.
I checked the console logs files and didn't find anything unusual before it didn't work and nothing different now that the iPod mounts.
    David.

  • Charged Screen Won't Go Off

My iPod displays the "Charged" screen anytime it is not in use. When I turn the iPod off, the screen goes dark but the "Charged" screen comes on and stays on until the battery runs out or I turn it on. I experienced this before and took it in to a local Apple store and of course after the guy plugged it in, the problem magically disappeared and he never really understood the problem. That worked until recently when I had to reset the iPod. The problem returned and now my computer doesn't recognize the iPod. I have also tried plugging into a Mac and still it is not recognized. The iPod still plays music and still charges but no computer will recognize it and the "Charged" screen will not go away when turned off.

  • Pod Classic 6th Gen cycling through connecting and disconnecting

Further to a previous post regarding this problem, I too have today had this happen.
Tried to sync my iPod, cycled through the connect/disconnect, updated iTunes repaired permissions (just in case) trashed plist file (any port in a storm) restarted my iMac then tried putting my iPod into disc mode, the same thing happens, connect followed by an almost instant okay to disconnect.
Not sure now how to proceed as up until now my iPod has been faultless after around 3 years of everyday use. I have a whole raft of books I need to sync, my iPod being used mainly for books.
Anyone help with this, I have had no previous problems with my iPod I have therefore had to do little in the way of diagnostics. So I'm pretty much stuck. Oh I have tried another cable and a different USB port.

I had not tried connecting my iPod directly to my iMac, this worked okay in disc mode and I have managed to sync my iPod.
For some reason after three or so years the sync that I normally undertake via my powered USB hub will now not work? Sync does work when plugged into one of my iMac's USB ports (I have tested both hub/Imac a number of times in the past two hours).
Is it possible that I have a USB hub problem, the hub supports two other items, these are both working normally. Undertaking a sync via the back of my iMac is inconvenient, I would like to use my USB hub, any ideas from anyone on this?
    Thanks

  • My battery drained in my iPad 4S and now it won't charge and just cycles through the Apple logo and battery low screens. I can't turn the machine off or on

My battery drained on my iPad 4s and now I can't turn it off or on. It just continues to cycle through the Apple Logo scree for about 10 seconds and than goes blank. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • IPod 1st Gen - songs keep cycling through!

This is a brand new IPod - fresh out of the box yesterday (my husband won it at a corporate event).
This is the 3rd IPod in our home - our daughters each have a 2nd and 3rd generation. Their IPod's are working fine - I just checked!
My IPod keeps cycling through the songs ... and yet never playing them!!! One song appears on the screen for a sec, then the 2nd, then the 3rd and so on .. until it has cycled through all 189 songs ... and then stops. I know the audio is working - that isn't the issue.
Tried holding the Menu button and the centre button to restore it - but that didn't work either.
Any help would be much appreciated - my daughters don't want me using their IPod's anymore!

Resetting the iPod should fix this problem. Just hold down the menu button and the select button until you see the apple logo and then let the iPod finish cycling up. I'd reset, then sync, and then test it.

  • My ipod nano was charged and now the screen is all white

my ipod nano was charged overnight,  now the front screen is all white  i cannot see anything(playlists etc)   i have reset it and the screen comes back on but only for a minute  then it goes right back to a white screen....    what is wrong with this and how do i fix it?

If none of the 5 R's of troubleshooting are able to solve the problem, the issue is hardware related, meaning you'll need to have the iPod serviced or replaced.  The LCD screen may have simply burned out or wore out over time.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/.
It wouldn't also hurt to the let iPod's battery full drain. Then charge the iPod back up and go through the 5 R's again.

  • Ipod touch 2g 8gb cycles between battery screen

ipod touch 2g 8gb cycles between battery screen and logo scree. and does not startup suggestions why ?

After charging for at least an hour I would try in order:
    - resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restoring the iPod, first from backup and then to factory defaults/new iPod.  If iTunes does not see the iPod first try placing the iPod in recovery mode.  If still unsuccessful try placing it in DFU mode.
