Ipod is in manual mode... help

My iPod is in the manual mode and has music & apps that are different from the ones in my iTunes. Is there a way to change it to the automatic-syncing mode, and not lose all of the things in my iPod?

Thank you so much.
But just in case I have to buy another one. (This one is about 4 years old). I don't need anything fancy, no video or anything. And I don't want to shuffle anything. I just want to go walking, select the tunes I want and do my thing. So if I have to buy a new one, do they still sell the IPOD nano. Or do I have to buy some fancy updated version. I know there are 1st generation, 2nd generation, ones with videos, etc. Do you have any idea how much a simple Ipod Nano would cost??
Four years ago I paid $149 for mine. One would think (with all the newer versions), that maybe my little Ipod Nano would now being sold for half the price? Do I have a shot here?
Thank you so much for all your help!!!

  • Games in manual mode help

I put my ipod to manual mode so that I dont' have all the songs on my computer for more space.
I'd like to keep it in manual but I can't put my game back on the ipod, cause it used to be there.
My question is. If I turn back on the auto sync for games will it turn everything to sync and whipe out my songs? Because I've had to re-add everything twice because I didn't have it all in manual. So does anyone know for sure that it won't touch the music?

No, it wil not affect your music's syncing settings.
I've tried this kind of thing myself. For example, setting "Podcasts" to "automatic-update" didn't affect my music settings, which where on manual.
In addition, I've never heard of that happening, and your settings will be safe if nothing weird happens (the computer promptly shuts down, for example..which I've never heard of with your situation either.)

  • IPod Playcounts in Manual Mode

I used to use auto-update for my iPod, meaning when I plugged it into my computer to run iTunes it would automatically transfer music. It would transfer the playcount from my iPod automatically, as well. Now, however, my music collection has grown beyond my iPod's available space, so I've switched to manual mode. Unfortunately, in manual mode, it doesn't automatically transfer my iPod's play count.
How do I transfer play count from my iPod to iTunes when I'm using manual mode?

    You don't.
Why not create playlists that fit onto the iPod and automatically sync those selected playlists?

  • Ipod Stuck in Recovery mode help!!!

my ipod was fine, working brilliantly, tll a few days ago, it had a white screen, that said "connect to computer and restore in itunes" in many different languages. so i did, but itunes didn't pick up my ipod. so forced it into disk mode, and itunes recgognised it, and the message "Itunes as detected an ipod in recovery mode, you must restore this Ipod before it can be used with itunes" came up. so having restored it, i reconnected it, and the whole thing repeated itself, now my ipod maybe stuck in recovery mode, as every time i restore and connect, the same message comes up... HELP!!!

Sorry, must pay more attention to the profiles:>) Unfortunately that link is the only one I know of that refers to the recovery mode problem. I'll have another dig around and if I find anything else I'll let you know. The only other thing I can think of is to run Disk Utility repair on your iPod and see if that helps. It's a shot in the dark I'm afraid.
Set up iTunes "not" to open when you connect the iPod.
Enable Disk Use on the iPod
Eject the iPod and shut down iTunes
Reconnect the iPod and open Disk Utility
Click on your iPod in the Utility pane and choose Repair Disk.
Close Disk Utility and open iTunes.

  • I have an ipod touch 4th gen and I have songs on it which I cannot remove, even when I sync it and untick the songs they will not remove from the ipod, doesnt work manually either, help

I previously had an ipod nano but now have an ipod touch, when I synced it for the first time I got songs on to the ipod which I dont want, I have tried unticking them in itunes library and this doesnt work.  I have also tried going to summary to remove manually but it doesnt show any songs in this box to be removed.  Can anone help please.

Is your device recognized by your computer? If yes, copy the pictures and videos as shown in this article:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
If it is not recognized, try this first: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Disable autosync in iTunes, right click on it in the device list and choose "transfer purchases" to copy apps and other media bought in iTunes to your new library.
Do the same again and choose "backup", to create a manual backup without syncing.
Since your device will be erased due to the new iTunes library during the first sync, you can use this backup afterwards to restore your settings and data.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you start, to be able to merge calendars and contacts.

  • Ipod goes into disk mode HELP!!

my 30 GB ipod gets stuck and wont start, when i reset it, it goes into disk mode and gets stuck there, wont reset wont turn off its dead until the battery runs out. The computer doesn't recognize it until its battery is completely gone and I have charged it on the wall charger for a while! HELLPPPP!! My Ipod is brand New and i have restored it twice already, once it even got stuck on a song and didnt fix until batery was dead.

with your iPod connecting with an ac charger or a computer, press "select"+"menu" keys until you see the apple logo, it may takes a minute and also try to do a few attempts.

  • Removing songs in manual mode

About a year ago my computer crashed and I managed to switch ipod to manual mode until I could repopulate my itunes library. Now I've decided to put my Ipod back into manual mode and delete all my music off my PC to save space on my hard drive. I seem to recall being able to access all the music in my Ipod when it was connected. But now, I can't seem to do so, and I would like to remove some music from it, but can't figure out how. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

If you are updating manually, connect your iPod and when it shows in the iTunes 7 source list click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the usual song list. Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and delete directly as above by pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Then press the delete key.
To summarise, you start by highlighting the song/video/selection in either the iTunes library or on the iPod song list as displayed in iTunes then press the delete key on your keyboard: Deleting songs or playlists from your iPod

  • Hi at the moment my ipod is on manual sync mode. Is there any way of changing this to auto-sync without losing the music on my ipod or library? Possibly more importantly is there a way I can transfer the ratings from my ipod onto my i-tunes?

Hi at the moment my ipod is on manual sync mode. Is there any way of changing this to auto-sync without losing the music on my ipod or library? Possibly more importantly is there a way I can transfer the ratings from my ipod onto my i-tunes?
This is so I can delete music from my ipod knowing its rated on my i-tunes so I can then see later if I want to re-add it based on its rating
    Thanks

    Unfortunately there is not.

Not without the help of third party software such as this one:

  • My iPod touch is stuck in recovery mode, help?

A few hours ago, I tried updating my 5th generation iPod touch to iOS 8. It ran into an error and couldn't update, which left my iPod touch stuck in recovery mode with a screen showing a USB cord pointing to an iTunes symbol. I tried searching for ways to get my iPod out of recovery mode without restoring it to its factory settings, but after a couple hours of seeking, I decided I might as well just restore it. I clicked the restore button, and when it finished, it said that my iPod touch couldn't be restored either. Now, I have no clue what to do. May I have some help?

    That error is covered here:
Error 3194, Error 17, or "This device isn't eligible for the requested build" - Apple Support
If iTunes can’t communicate with the update server, you may see one of these messages.

  • While restoring my iPod touch 4G (iOS 6.1.2), after the "extracting software" step, iTunes says that it cant connect to iPod server. Now my iPod is in recovery mode and I can't do anything. Please Help.

I have Windows 7 installed with the LATEST iTunes software.
I get this message while restoring and now my iPod is in restore mode. When I try to restore it fails after this message pops up. Please tell me a fix to it.
    1) I've checked my internet connection. All the sites work perfectly.
    2) I've tried it after disabling the windows firewall as well as my antivirus.
    3) I've also tried changes with the "hosts" file in Windows>System32>Driveres>etc.
    NO HELP WHATSOEVER.
    PLEASE HELP.

    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - Anything else here
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • IOS 5 update forced ipod touch into recovery mode which I can't get it out of! Help please!

Hi, I recently updated my ipod touch 3rd gen to ios5 (as prompted by itunes - assumed a standard software update). Immediately afterwards, my ipod went into recovery mode, and initially itunes recognised this and tried to restore it unsuccessfully. Not any more! Now it is either off, or displays the 'connect to itunes' logo when I connect it to the computer via USB lead.
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing itunes but this hasn't helped it recognise the ipod.
I don't think I've managed to go 3 months without having to do something like reinstall the drivers etc on this ipod, don't know why i expected this update to be any different!
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance!

Try disabling all security software and firewalls, then try again.
Or try from a different computer.
This error is a pain in the butt and a new issue, too. I'm sorry.

  • Help with manual mode of Menu Widget in Muse

I'm building a family web page in Muse and I'd like to create a menu of my secondary webpages only. Since the Menu Widget's "menu type" options are Top Level pages, All Pages (neither option will work for me), and Manual- it seems like I should be able to use "Menu Type: Manual" and simply type in the menu items I would like- which I've done. What I can't figure out is how to link those menu items I manually created to the sub pages of my website.
A bit of background on my website structure. My top Level sites are: Welcome, and then 3 separate pages for each family member- and each member page has a few secondary pages (about, photos, contact):
    Welcome
    Member 1
    about
    photos
    contact
    Member 2
    about
    photos
    contact
    Member 3
    about
    photos
    contact
My main site navigation- i.e. the menu widget for top level pages- is above my header (Light Gray). Below my header, I would like a horizontal or bar menu for ONLY the sub pages of that member: ie. About Member 1, Member 1's Photos, Contact Member 1 (Dark Gray)
I've created a menu widget in the Manual mode- I just can't seem to figure out how to link each menu option to the correct page. Currently in preview none of these manual menu items work.
    Thanks!

    Hi Scarff.
When you opt to use manual mode for the Menus, you need to manually link the pages to menu items. To achieve this , you need to have the menu item selected and then using hyperlink option as shown in below screenshots link the corresponding page to it :
    I hope this helps.
