Ipod NOT turning on, won't reset, won't charge and isn't recognized by PC

I've had my 120 Ipod Classic since the end of 2008. Before I went to bed Saturday, I plugged it in to the USB port to charge overnight while my computer was still on. I wake up Sunday and my ipod is completely dead. It won't charge or turn on. I've tried resetting it and still nothing. I have not seen the screen lit since Saturday night and have no idea what could have happened. Could it be the battery? My computer nor Itunes isn't even recognizing it. I also plugged it into my macbook and again, it's still not recognizing it. What in the world is going on? Four days later and I'm still stumped. PLEASE PLEASE help me.

If you upgraded to Itunes 9, there's the problem.
Itunes 9, unfortunately, corrupts any Ipod Classic that was purchased around a year ago. We haven't really found an exact manufacturing date for the Ipods that are susceptible to corruption.
Sorry, but you're probably out of luck like the other Classic owners out there.

I have exactly the same problem with both my ipod shuffles. That suggests to me that it is a problem with the ipods rather than my PC or computer software. I'm surprised that no Apple tech has suggested a solution yet.

I got a classic not too long ago from someone else and I tried turning it on yesterday but it wouldn't come on, so I tried plugging it in the car charger, but still nothing. Today, I tried the wall charger and nothing. I tried the USB and nothing and realized the PC wasn't even noticing it was there. I have my old nano and it is recognized and charging by all the ways the Clasic isn't so I'm completely lost and need some serious help please!

Well my ipod touch doesnt charge and isnt recognized by itunes. It all started one day it ran out of battery and shutdown, I conected it and it started charging with the red battery screen then in started(booted) and it stoped charging, when I conect it to a pc itunes doesnt recognize it.

IPod 5th gen 30gig won't charge and isn't recognized by iTunes

I recently replaced the battery in my iPod 5th gen because I thought that was the problem. This fixed things temporaly and my iPod turned on for this first time in a long time. However, now it won't charge or hook up to the computer. I think this may have been the problem all along.
The charging port seems to be in good condition and pretty clean. I have tried resetting it and resetting it while connected to itunes. I also disconnected and reconnected the new battery. I left it plugged in for sometime but it hasn't charged.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I really have no idea what the problem is at this point.

I suspect that you have a completely dead battery.

If you mean 11 months, a battery replacement is under warranty but $30 shipping and handling. If you mean 13 months, a battery replacement is $59 + $7 shipping.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one with a new battery for $79. I do not consider it worth it for your old 2G iPod. They do not fix yours.
