IPod replacement battery not working right

I think I know the answer to this, but I would like your guys' opinion
I have a 60 GB iPod classic that went completely dead the other day. Nothing would get anything to come up on the screen at all. I figured it was a dead battery. I ordered a replacement and got it installed with little hassle. I plugged it into the wall outlet brick and let it charge overnight. It looked like it was charging, and when it was plugged into the wall, I was able to browse through the songs, etc. Joy ensued.
When I disconnected it from the wall outlet, the screen went completely black again. I tried plugging it into my computer, and I get the dead battery icon followed by a message saying "Please wait. Very Low Battery" and the spinning wheel below that. It also does not show up on my desktop or ini iTunes. If I plug it into my ipod adapter in my car (where it usually resides) It will play.
So it seems it is taking power again, which is a step up from before, but it is not charging. I'm getting the feeling that the battery I got was a dud. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

"Incidentally, you have a 5th Generation iPod, not an iPod Classic."
Sorry - you are right. I completely missed seeing the listing for 5th Gen.
I have tried connecting it to my computer. Do you mean restore it as in through iTunes? If so, it does not show up in iTunes or on my desktop. I have tried to reset it to no avail.

  • Replacement battery not working properly

    Hello,
I have a G72 Notebook and I just recently bought a replacement battery that is not working properly.
I think that the laptop is just not able to communicate with the battery to find out how much power it has left.
I'm pretty sure that the battery is taking charge just fine (although the icon says, "plugged in, not charging" because I used it for a couple hours today and it never changed from "41%".
Right now it says "0%" but continues to power my computer if I unplug it.
I've tried cleaning the connectors and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the battery driver.
My old battery still charges just fine and works perfectly it just doesn't last more than an hour or so.
I ordered the replacement battery that it listed on my old battery, but it seems to not snap in quite right.
It fits in my computer, it just isn't as smooth to snap in as my old one is.  As far as I can tell it's exactly the same except I think some of the little plastic parts have slightly different sizes.
    Thanks for any help!

  • My iPod video is not working right...please help...

When I connect ANY headphones to the iPod Video i can only hear from the left earphone and not the right...also, the iPod Radio Remote worked perfectly for about a month and now it doesn't work at all. When I play a song, I hear about a second of the song then I dont hear anything but the song is still playing...is this covered by the One Year Warranty and should I send it back for repair? please help
P.S. I've had the iPod for about 8 months.

if you've tried different headphones that you're sure work properly but are all experiencing the same issues on only your ipod then i would recommend that you send the ipod back for repairs as it is still Covered by the warranty.

  • Ipod 5 flash not working right after the update

Hi first off: my flash was perfect before the update so I think its not hardware?
    - after the update yesterday today my friend and I tried to take a selfie in a dark place so we wanted to use the back camera and turned the flash as ON for our surprise it didnt work.
    - we tried then to take something else's pic and the flash worked
    - we tried the selfie again this time using the camera buttom not the volume's but didnt work.
    - we used hipstamatic and VSCOCam then and it worked perfectly
    - I tried turning on and off the device and did not work.
    - I did a full restore through Itunes and didnt work.
    anybody else having this problem?
    any suggestion to fix it?

I contacted apple and they claimed it to be an obvious software bug, they said I had to take it to an assistence to get a new one intantly but as theres no assistence in my town and I cant go to nearby one I will have to just replace the stock app for a better one... once more I'm disapointed with apple.

  • Battery not working right (macbook early 2008 white)

often, my battery shows an x in the middle, and then my computer goes to sleep, and i have to click a lot to turn it back on. anyone know how to fix this?

The Apple KB on this is here:

If none of that helps, it may be a problem with the battery itself.

  • Is there any way to redownload iOS 5 my iPod touch 4 th generation white 32 gig is not working right?

My iPod is not working right. It's slow and lags and just doesn't work and always exits apps. I was if there was any way to redownload ios5 because it does the same things after I've reset about 4 times. Please help! It's even lagging why I am typing this. The thing that I checked below are all of the things that are not working on my iPod.

You cannot reinstall iOS without doing a restore. But you might first try a software update. If you have iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1, you can update to iOS 5.1 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

  • Help, my iPod's not working right.

Help. I unfortunately downloaded iOS 6.0 to my iPod touch and now it's not working right. I can't listen to anything in the itunes store and a song I tried to download doesn't work on my iPod, yet it works on my computer. Is there anyway to go back to the old OS system I had before this one? Is this happening to anyone else? What can I do?

    You are very welcome!
It would seem that the problem was that you were not logged into your iTunes account on your device, and logging in fixed it.
That is great! You did well in your troubleshooting. I'm glad you got it fixed. Sometimes, just messing around with it, trying to figure it out helps.
As for updating, it would be good to do as I suggested, but I don't know what Apple's next update will hold for our devices. Whether it will fix only some, or all of the problems. So I would say that keeping an eye out, maybe on this forum, for results of the next update, whether or not it helped others, and how much it fixed. It may even take a few more updates for it to come back around to working as it should. Once your device doesn't seem to be full of errors and bugs, (and maybe the Apple forums are full of positive reviews) then you can stop updating. I'm not saying that updates are always bad, it is hard to tell. So if your comfortable with how your device is working, then you can choose to ignore future updates, it's your choice. I don't know when the updates are coming out either, so we are all riding it and seeing how it will turn out.

  • My iPod Touch is not working with Bose SoundDock.  How can I fix it?

My iPod Touch is not working with Bose DoundDock Series II.  Can anyone suggest how I can get these 2 to work together?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Did the battery run out of power?  If not, try doing a Reset to "reboot" the iPod

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPOD simply will not work. Period. Can anyone help?

I have had problems with my iPod ever since I got it, and it has never functioned properly, even with the use of support. My iPOD simply will not work. It will not turn on, or charge. My computer will not recognize it, nor will iTunes. I took it to an Apple store for repairs, and they marked my total charge time at a whopping 6 minutes before it died. I worked temorarily after I got it back, and it hasn't turned on since. It has never been dropped or mistreated.
Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Is there any way to get it replaced without having to spend to buy a new one, since mine never really worked in the first place? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

"Is there any way to get it replaced without having to spend to buy a new one"
If it's under warranty, send it in for service or replacement. If not, then the answer's no.
    Presumably you've tried all these?
    iPod won't turn on.
    iPod battery doesn't charge.
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize the iPod is connected.
"I took it to an Apple store for repairs, and they marked my total charge time at a whopping 6 minutes before it died"
So why didn't you leave it at the store for service or repair?
    Sounds like a bad battery.

  • Remote not working right

I've had my FIOS about 2 months, put new batteries in remote and it is still not working right.  Some things work fine.  Other things stopped working - can't delete a DVR show, can't change channels with one digit, but it will if I add all 4 digits, info box on bottom of screen never disappears (unless I hit exit).  What's wrong?
My second TV set-up is OK.

Might not even be a remote issue. Have you tried rebooting the box?
If you do think it's the remote it's still under warranty.
You can get a free replacement easy within the dvr's menu.
Here is a page that tells you ways to get a replacement.

Get a new remote and if you still have the same issues then you'll know its the dvr that needs to be replaced.
