IPod touch automatically added playlist

Has anyone ever experienced the iPod touch automatically adding or duplicating playlist, if so what would cause this

As far as I know, the touch will only reconnect to networks it has been connected to before - ie the ones you have told it to connect to. Having said that, a number of people are too lazy or unlearned to change the name of their network from default set by the manufacturer - like linksys. Open networks, default names, once you connect to one the touch might just connect to the others.
You can, in fact, forget these networks. When connected, tap Settings > WiFi > then the blue > next to the network name. Tap Forget this Network.
If you really want to get rid of all of these, probably a Restore as New would be your best bet. That will reset everything and the touch will not connect to a network unless you tell it to.

  • When connected to my 2014 Buick Enclave, the iPod touch automatically begins to repeat songs.

Hi - When connected to my 2014 Buick Enclave via USB, the repeat function on the iPod touch automatically engages and the songs repeat. I have to manually disengage the repeat function to finish an album, then do it again when the next album begins to repeat. There is no "repeat" button on the Enclave's system, only "shuffle", which works fine with the iPod. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

First I would go the the car system's support site.
    Next:
    - Reset the car system.
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • My ipod touch automatically presses the home button

my ipod touch automatically presses the home button causing apps to close, appswitching tray to pull up, and turning to spotlight search. i dont think my home button is broken; i can press and release it no problem. could this be a software problem?
    thanks!

I would try the standard fixes inorder:
    - Reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer.  First from backup and if problem persists restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • IPod touch content - iTunes playlist

Some time ago I've created a playlist in iTunes on my Mac.
I've upload this playlist on my iPod touch. Sometimes I've added songs to this playlist and sync my iPod touch from it.
Now I lost this playlist on my iTunes, there is a way to re-create this playlist on my iTunes using the content of my iPod touch?
    Thanks!

Restore the iPod. Backup first if appropriate.

  • Why is my iPod Touch 4th generation playlist shuffle repeat malfunctioning?

I have a 4th generation iPod touch that is malfunctioning whenever I shuffle play a playlist, album, or individual artist's songs. I always leave the playlist repeat option on when I listen to a playlist or artist and all the songs in the playlist will play fine, but when the playlist ends and is supposed to start over from the beginning it does not play the first song that began the shuffle. It plays a different song that is in the playlist in the first slot and then continues in the same order as the first time through the playlist. For example I have 5 songs by the Eli Young Band on my ipod & when I play these 5 songs on shuffle with the loop option on their order through the first play through is Say Goodnight, When It Rains, Crazy Girl, Always the Love Songs, and Even if it Breaks Your Heart. Then after the fifth song the playlist begins again but instead of playing Say Goodnight in the one spot it played Even if it Breaks Your Heart followed by When It Rains, Crazy Girl, Always the Love Songs, and finishes with Even If It Breaks You Heart. So in the second play through of the playlist Say Goodnight was skipped & Even if it Breaks Your Heart was played twice & I can't figure our why. This happens with every artist and playlist I have no matter how many songs are in the playlist, and a different song is placed in the one spot and then repeated later every time the playlist repeats. The ipod has done this since I got it in December 2012, and I have already tried turning the ipod off and back on and restoring it to factory settings to try and solve this problem with no luck. I have also installed the iOS 6.1 software and the problem still persists. Any solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Try hitting the button again so it shows the replay sign and a little #1 in the top right corner of the icon.

  • My iPod touch duplicated a playlist 1000's of times

    Happy New Year!
I created a new playlist on my iPod touch 3rd generation at work yesterday.  I have done this numerous times before without any shenanigans.  I played the playlist with no problem.  This morning I went to listen to it again and found that there were over 8000 ( yes 8000 ) duplicates.  I can't confirm because I haven't been able to find the original but all of the duplicates are empty.  I'm running iOS 5.0.1 and Lion on my mba and iMac.  I think that pretty well covers it.
    My questions are:
    1.     Is there any way for me to do a mass deletion of all these duplicates?  One at a time doesn't seem like any fun at all.
    2.     I don't think there is anything I did that caused this but is that possibly not the case?
    3.     Is this an iOS issue or something to do with iCloud?
I am using iTunes match if that might have anything to do with it.
This seems very curious to me.  I can hardly wait to see if anybody has an idea as to what caused this.  And I'll be very happy if someone can please tell me how to get rid of all those empty playlists.
Thank you for your comments and help in advance.  I've never had any apple device do anything like this before.
    Regards, Richard
P.S.:  I sync the iPod to my mba.  Thanks to iCloud it displays the 8000+ playlists as does my iMac.  Oh, and the name of the playlist is AKG ( asian kung-fu generation ) if that might have some kind of bearing on the situation.  Thank you.R3

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • IPod touch / iPhone: Smart Playlists empty / missing after 3.1.3 Update

    Dear all,
the following problem is very persistent and it happened to me and a friend of mine (iPod touch / iPhone), in both cases, smart playlists created in iTunes (Mac), latest version, are home to several tracks. These tracks are being transferred to the iPod/iPhone - but the playlist doesn't show up or is shown as empty (both cases happened). The tracks are on the iPod/iPhone if you select them manually.
Re-Creating the playlists helped, but this is not the solution as the problem pops up with other playlists after having done that (however, the re-created playlists work).
The iPods/iPhones have been reset, freshly installed etc., music has been taken off completely from them - the problem remains / comes back.
It seems as if 3.1.3 has a problem with smart playlists and dubious one at that. Annoying at the very same time.
I'm a bit disappointed about having wasted several hours of my life on this problem, that is not what I expect from Apple. :/
    Any permanent solutions out there?
    Alex.

    "Some sort" of solution.
So after having dabbled with Apple's attempt for a solution, I seem to have found one that seems(...) to work for me when it comes to audio books:
    - create a new smart playlist
    - filter the current cd "Terry Pratchett (Disc 2))
    - counter is 0
    and(!)
    add:
maximum of X hours, sorted by NAME... that actually did the trick.
Of course, you need one more thing: you have to add the track's name to the name of the audio track... (see Doug's apple scripts for that script).
Honestly... I'm a bit disappointed that I had to become smarter than Apple. Don't you want to give me a job, guys?

  • Why does my iPod touch automatically go out of DFU mode, and not stay in it until I turn it on?

I put my iPod touch 4g intoDFU mode, then after 10 minutes or so, it turns on with iBoot. I know that DFU mode bypasses iBoot. It automatically boots out from DFU mode. Please help me, because I want to restore it.

Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • IPod touch keeps changing playlist order.

My iPod touch keeps rearranging the order of my podcast play list. I have them arranged by composer (i placed the release date in the composer slot) and sort them from oldest to newest. This never happens on either my 30gig video or 80gig classic, just my 32gig touch. I turned off shake to shuffle and the shuffle icon is not highlighted. Is there any way to keep this from happening?

I have the same problem with all of my playlists. It is a problem for my playlists designed for my workouts as they are arranged by beats per minute. I have also tried to turn off the the shake to shuffle but it didn't work. If anyone has a solution, please help!!

  • How to edit ipod touch 4th gen playlists in iTunes 11??

Okay, maybe this is just me and I can't figure it out. But ever since the update (which I hate, btw) I have had a really hard time editing my ipod touch playlists. I don't have ALL of my music from my iPod in my iTunes library, so I like to be able to edit my playlists on my iPod without having to sync anything. But now, I can NOT for the LIFE OF ME figure out how to edit my iPod playlists in iTunes itself. Here are the specific things I want to do that I can't figure out:
    1. If I have a newly downloaded song in my iTunes library, it won't let me drag it to a specific playlist in my ipod. It makes me just drag the song onto my ipod and I have to then go into my ACTUAL ipod and add that song to whatever playlist I want. But I have to do it ON my ipod. I can't do it from Itunes.
    2. If I want to delete a song from a playlist on my ipod/ move any songs around in my playlists, I can't do it from itunes like I used to. I have to do it manually on the ipod.
Theres a few other things that I don't like but can live with. But this is ridiculous. Apple is really ******* me off. Can ANYONE out there help me with any of these problems? Is it something I'm just going to have to deal with? Or is there a way around it? Or do I have to uncheck something that will let me edit??? AHHH HELPPPPP MEEEE........

Why is all the content on the device not in iTunes?

  • Ipod touch automatically turns on

I am having trouble with my ipod touch. I have had it only for a couple of months but I noticed that it has been automatically turning on by itself. It will be sitting on my desk and next thing I know I can hear music coming out of the headphones. Any suggestion on how I can fix that? I tried to reset it but that didn't help.

Mine does it to....only with the mic headphones plugged in.

  • My iPod touch automatically I get the message "Shut down" red

I hope you can solve this problem. Often an application I'm using the iPod and automatically receive an option to "Off" (red) or try to turn it off manually is not an option but after several attempts, and frequently also automatically locks. What should I do?

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Ipod touch automatically skips songs

Automatically skips songs in middle of playing

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - All songs? only certain songs?
    - Do the songs play OK in iTunes on the computer?
    - Try unsyncing and then resyncing.
    - Last, restore the iPod

  • Ipod touch automatically sets off HOME button

hi, I accidentally spilled water and got a little bit on my ipod. Afterwards, I noticed that after I charge it, the ipod would automatically hit the home button.
When I'm playing a game or have an app opened, it would close because it sets off the home button.
when I press the top button, it would sometimes take a picture because it's holding the home button.
When I leave it in lockscreen and screen off, the screen would automatically turn on.
    1. Is there anyway to fix this? or to disable the home button when I'm in game.
    2. Also, can I send it in for repair? The earbuds jack doesn't show any red from water spillage.
Thx, any insights would be appreciated.

also, when i put it near my static-y shorts, it sets off the home button.
