IPod Touch Sync Cable

i got an iPod Touch 4th Gen 64GB March 2 2011, so it's been less than a month that i've had it, it works fine, but the Sync Cable, is comping apart at the plug that plugs into my iPod, it's been less than a year, so i assume that my warranty covers the sync cable as well,
what do i do?

and i bought it at Amazon, so i don't have a reciept, that's easy to find, but they will still help though right?
only one way to find out ...

Syncing an iDevice to a computer does not remove content from the computer.
Syncing an iDevice to a computer that it does not normally sync with will remove the content from that device.
If the media was acquired with a different Apple ID it is in no way linked to your Apple ID.

  • Update 10.2.2 older ipod/iphone sync cables no longer work.

Update 10.2.2. I updated to 10.2.2 and my older ipod/iphone sync cables no longer work. Im talking about the cables with the longer connector and the connector locks not the new style that is a short plug with no lock. Anyone else having this issue?
Tried normal steps, reinstall restart etc. No change. I'm at work and the cable works fine on 10.2.1.1 something in the update must have changed.

On your computer go to the control panel (hover in the lower right corner) then programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support then go to apple.com and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
You won't lose any content, you're not deleting that, just the programs that access them.
What is thought to happen is that sometimes a new version of itunes doesn't update the drivers in those other two programs. The only way to update the drivers is to force it by uninstalling the programs which allows itunes to write the correct ones.
My iPad and iPod did exactly the same thing and this is how I fixed it.

  • ICal on Mac desktop to iPod Touch syncing problem

I have events on my iPod Touch that will not sync to my Mac OS 10.6.8 desktop.
What I've done that may have caused this:
I got a new MacBook for Christmas and so I tried syncing all 3 with iCloud, but that caused duplicate events
I tried only using MacBook & iPod Touch for sycing with iCloud and then directly syncing from my iPod with USB to my desktop, but it stopped syncing (later I found that my cord needed to be replaced, but I'm not sure if that was the problem - I was still dealing with some duplicate events, too)
I decided to stop using iCloud (I can do without using my iCal on my MacBook if there's no ideal solution to sync all 3 without duplications or other problems) and now my iPod Touch syncs well with my desktop for most items, but not all
I think my desktop thinks the events that are syncing have already been synced because they were in the past. The one that was important that I missed today, which is on my desktop (a repeating event) but is no longer on my iPod Touch, refuses to sync to my desktop. There may be more that I haven't noticed.
I thought maybe I could wipe my iPod Touch calendar and then sync my desktop to my iPod Touch, but I'm afraid that it might wipe my desktop as I don't know how to tell it to only go one way in syncing rather than acting as if it's a new program.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Be sure you've set your iPod to the correct time zone (ie, same as your computer). If you're on the East Coast it's three hours ahead of Apple HQ's time zone. A 5:00pm appointment in New York is at 2:00pm to someone using a Californian clock. Make sure your Touch isn't a Californian clock.

  • HT1386 why my 4th gen iPod touch syncs the movies again?

After iOS6 update, why my 4th gen iPod touch syncs the movies again? It used to sync with iTunes just the new one I marked. Now it seems to syncs the whole set of movies I have. Why?

When you connect the i-touch to your computer do you notice the "Other" portion of the space on your itouch may be over .5gb?
The average space for the "Other" portion is roughly less then .5 GB ... Its the yellow bar in i-tunes when your i-touch is connected ... I had the same issue where the "Other" portion of my i-touch 4 was reading like 5.5 GB, I did some research and found that that space is actually not free space at all, its actually full of left over files and such.
The way to decrease the size is to back up what you have, and restore it.  then reinstall all the apps and music and videos.  You will notice all that yellow bar is almost gone, and you will have a lot more space!

Will the Ipod Touch sync up tasks from Microsoft office? Or only the contacts and calendar?

yeah your right about the mail part, but you can sync calenders with outlook express... if you have it and use it it is very useful.
I.. do not however. but i still sync my calenders, just so i cant lose them.
Or are you guys talking about something else?

  • IPod touch sync freezes

iPod touch sync freezes at calendar sync, wired or wireless. Have rebooted computer and restored ipod to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help. After running "Activity Monitor" and going through the iTunes/iPod Touch sync process I was able to determine the suspect application that most likely caused the conflict.
While watching "Activity Monitor" almost immediately an application called "CNQL1208_ButtonManager" crashed - locking up the computer. I was able to determine by checking out a few bulletin boards that this application is the culprit in more than one problem on both Macs and Pc's. It's an app that gets loaded at start-up, which monitors the buttons on the front of my Canon Scanner (Model LiDE 35). Part of the CanoScan software download/driver for this model. I trashed this file and everything appears to work fine. In fact, the sync with my iPod touch seems to happen much faster.
The other possibility is that there was a conflict with PalmBackground Monitor, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
Thanks again for the Activity Monitor suggestion.

  • How can i make my ipod touch sync with itunes again?

recently, my whenever i plugged in ipod touch to itunes on my desktop or laptop computer it does not sync nor shows that itunes has recognized it. How can i fix this?

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    Or
    See
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Then do the other actions of:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
paying special attention to item #5
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • HT1386 Why is the IPod Touch syncing photos but not music?

I try to sync the IPod Touch but it skips over Determing Tracks and does not sync any music. The capacity bar would show how much audio is there in GBs but then it disappears after it finishes syncing. Please and thank you

I am well aware that setting was on the iPod before iOS 5! My question is why is it missing? Because right now, Apple is selling the AV Composite cable claiming it's compatible with the iPod Touch (4th Gen) and it's not. Thank you!

  • Ipod touch sync is soooo annoying

First off, please comment if you share this annoying issue. I'm sure I'm not the only one >|
To begin, I purchased an iPod Touch 4G (the one, with the Camera and Facetime) around August 2010. It was cool. Like, really cool.
Then, about two months ago, iTunes just stopped syncing with my iPod. A few weeks before it stopped I got the "Unable to load data from Sync Services" message every time I plugged my iPod in. I was like "Meh." and guessed it would fix it self eventually.
    Bam.
My iPod stopped showing up in iTunes. (This was back like when 10.0 just came out). I searched these forums like "lolwut? it always workedddd!". I tried fixing it, but hey, I had the newest iTouch firmware. the newest iTunes version, so I called up Apple Support.
THEY tell me to do everything I've already tried: Reinstalling all Apple components (In the order the support site said to), restarting, restarting with edited Startup entries via MSCONFIG, and pretty much everything else I've tried. This includes trying other ports on my computer, using other cables, and dual booting and using another Operating System on another partition.
    Nope, nothing works.
    So I totally give up.
And Bam, new iTunes update 10.1 comes out and I'm like "Whatevs" since it didn't work anyway. I had been updating my iTouch firmware, but I pretty much stopped caring about iTunes.
And at like 3am I wake up and see that my iPod is syncing. I'm like "Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa sweeeeeeeeetttttttttt" and go back to sleep. Next day I see that the iPod started syncing, and working perfectly this time. Syncs awesomely but it gave me "Unable to load data from Sync Services" again. Now I'm like ew, not again but my iPod is still working so I ignore it again.
And then AGAIN like 2 wks later, it stops. Same process. Works again when new iTunes update comes out. Works again when I update my iPod firmware. Updating seems like the only way to get this annoying sync to work, but I cannot just be able to sync for a few days after every time-to-time update. Not gonna happen.
Am I missing something? Is updating iTunes patching some wound in my system? Why does it stop working, if it was fine a day before?
No, I have no viruses on my computer or anything that could be screwing me right now. How do I fix this?
Cuz I seriously am considering switching to a lame normal drag-and-drop MP3 player that doesn't have a laggy, non-syncing required host program.
    From,
the kid who can't sync stuff onto his ipod

Try rebooting the computer, another USB port and another cable.
