Is 2D Barcode possible in SAP SCRIPTS

Hi  folks ,
Is 2D barcode  possible in Sap scripts?
Thnaks
pabi

What Barcode are you thinking of?
SAP supports a list of 2D Barcodes see in OSS
Pls. also think about how to bring this Barcode to paper?
This is an interessting theme!
Start considering an external Output Program like LaserSoft from DETEC, Streamserve, DCS2000 from invaris or DocumentDesigner from OCE.

  • How to print Barcode in te SAP SCRIPTS?

    Hi All,
Can anyone of you let me know how to print the Barcode in the SAP SCRIPT? This is the first time I'm working on the Barcode. I've to print many fields data into one barcode. Like PO number, Material Number, Plant, Company code..etc..
    Best Regards,
    Venkatesh Eddala.

    Hello Venkat,
    Creating Bar code:
-->From trans code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
--> when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
-->Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
-->The place where you are using the field value use like this
    <C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.
    http://www.servopack.de/Files/HB/ZPLcommands.pdf.
It will give an idea about barcode commands.
    SAP Barcodes
-->Barcode solution consists of the following:
    barcode printer
    barcode reader
    mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

    NEW-PAGE PRINT ON IMMEDIATELY `X'.
    FORMAT COLOR OFF INTENSIFIED OFF.
If the barcode is the first element on the page, the following Write
statement is needed (otherwise you get a date in the first print
    control.
    WRITE:/
Turn on the barcode font, print the data, and switch back to the
printer's default font. Be sure to use NO-GAP to avoid unwanted
    characters or CR/LF.

    WRITE: BAR_CODE1 NO-GAP
    PRINT-CONTROL FUNCTION `BCSFX'
Add a Write statement to prevent insertion of CR/LF into the barcode.

i need clarification on following items.
    1) Weather this zpl code i need to write in MM07ET object.? or in layoutset ZRM07ETIKETT
    2) ABOVE CODE HAS BEEN CREATED BY BARONE.(OTHER WISE I CAN ALSO WRITE MY OWN ZPL LANGUAGE)
3)HOW TO SEND SEND SAME CODE IN TO PRINTER MEMOREY.(IF IT IS .ITF HOW TO SEND IT THROUGH SAPSCRIPT.)
(PLS ANSWER ANY ONE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE).

Typically I've put the code into the MM07ET object, leaving the layout set as simple as possible.
The question I pose is how do you transport MM07ET? I have done it in the past in older versions, but it seems my notes are not valid anymore? I know you can upload and download MM07ET, but a transport is preferable.
I used to manually assign an object to the transport:
    R3TR TEXT MM07ET,MM07ET_ETIKETT,7001,E
    Any ideas?

  • How To use barcode in the sap scripts

I have to put two windows in a form ,both windows should contain BARCODE
so how i can proceed plz provide me solutions for same and possible few example code which can guide me .

There is no change required to the print program the bar code conversion is handled by the SAPScript form.  What you do need to do is create a special character string.
Simply click on the Character Formats button and then in standard attributes, select Bar Code in the appropriate field (it is labled Bar Code)  you probably need to talk to someone regarding which Bar Code format to use, since there is a quite a few  of them.
    Hope this helps.

    HI
    GOOD
    GO THROUGH THIS
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program
The next part of the equation can be a bit tricky as you will need to get a printer to print that barcode font. Regular laser printers does not normally print barcode fonts, only specialized industrial printers that is specifically designed to support that protocol and that uses specialized label media and heat transfer (resin) ribbon to create the sharp image required for barcodes.
Not to fear though, there are two ways to get around this:
    - You can have your IT department do some research -
most laser printers can accept a font cartridge/dimm chip (similar to computer memory), called a BarDIMM that will allow a laser printer to support the printing of barcodes.
    - Secondly, you can buy software that you can upload in your SAP print Server that will convert the barcode symbology as an image that will print on a regular laser printer. I found that this option results in less sharper barcodes. This option is really if you need to convert a large quantity of printers (>10) to support barcodes.
    - Thirdly, you can buy a third party software like Barcode.dll and install on your frontend PC connected to the laser printer.
Now you have a barcode printed - what next?
Well there are two options, depending on your business requirements:
    - You can use an existing SAP transaction on a regular workstation and get a barcode wedge reader to hook up between the keyboard and the PC. These wedge readers comes in a wand or scanner format. There are even wireless wedge scanners available that allows you to roam a few yards from the workstation to scan a label. This approach is mostly used where you want to prevent human errors in typing in long material, batch or serial numbers in receiving or issuing of material. The problem is that it's just replacing the keyboard input and you are basically locked down in one location and have to bring all the material to that location to process.
    - Another solution is to use SAPConsole transactions
or write your own ABAP Dialog programs that will fit onto a barcode enabled wireless handheld terminal and that will follow the business logic as executed on the shop floor.
These programs are highly complex exercises in industrial engineering and ergonomics because of the limited screen sizes and limited ability to accept keyboard input. The user is instructed step-by-step and only scan and push F-keys to interact with the SAP system. Scan, scan, beep, beep, enter - highly automated.

  • Break point in SAP Script

    Hi Guys,
I just wanted to clarify something.
In report if i do write break point then while running the program the system will halt there allowing me to debug.
Is this functionality possible in SAP script too??
I mean is breakpoint a valid statement in SAP Script?

    Hi,
    1) If you want to debugg the perform  then
there are 2 ways to bebug a sap script.
    one by using standard program
goto se38 and ececute RSTXBUG and give ur script name debug the perform.
    other one is
put a soft breat point in u r perform code(in program)
    like
    BREAK SAP-USER.
then when u execute u will directly goto debug mode.
    2) normally you can debugg the script by
    In se71, Chose from menu:
    Utilities-> Activate Debugger
From the transaction, In the output message screen, you chose chose your output type, Go to Further options, Chose the dispatch option as Send at periodically scheduled jobs . then save the transaction. And run the prigram RSNAST00 It would stop at the debugging.

  • Format SAP Script / AIF - DINA vs LETTER

    Hi all,
we have in my company several documents which will be printed in DINA4 and LETTER. At the moment we have 2 output types and 2 SAP Scripts (one with DINA4 and one with LETTER). In the next month wee will redesign these documents. How can I use 1 SAP Script or AIF also for DINA4 and LETTER? From my point of view it's not possible with SAP Script. Is it possible to use one AIF also for DINA4 and LETTER?
    Regards
    Michael

    Hi again,
I tested with LETTER printer.  The good thing is that it did not get stuck at the printer, but it seems that when printing ZMG to a Post-Script printer, the header is cut off.  When printing to a PCL only printer, the footer is cut off.  Both cases default was LETTER.  To verify, I also checked other outputs (DINA4 / LETTER) and they both print the same on the PS and PCL printer -> successful.
I shift windows at top of the page a little bit to buttom and buttom windows a little bit to top (top margin 1 cm, footer window margin 27 cm). I will check again.
    Any other idea?
    Thanks & regards
    Michael

  • Alignment problem in SAp Script

    Hi All,
I am quite new to ABAP. I was working in .net for two years. I am developing an
SAP script which includes table layout. No my problem is that certain texts in certain columns is so longer that the alignment get distorted. Is there any way in sap script by which we can bring down the text to next line if the text length exceeds certain limit. In web development it is possible to display like that and i hope it is possible in sap script also. Could any one please help me?

    Hi,
First you need to consider the of the maximum possible length of each program symbol you are giving in the table layout. Depending upon that you need to create Tab spaces in "Paragraph formats" option.
Each tabspace will allocate certain length of space to each program symbol.
    Plz reward if helpful.
    Thanks,

  • What is sap  script ?  why is  it required

    Sinha

The standard system come with all the standard sapscripts for you to print invoices, delivery orders or sales order etc.  You can further enhance the form with SAPscripts which is the standard SAP form design tools for user to developed customized form printing format such as purchase orders, invoices, checks, labels.
With the combination of third party barcode software (barcode.dll) or printer with bardimm, you can print barcode directly using SAP scripts.
To create SAPscipts goto tcode : SE71
Once your SAPscripts are created, you have to used an abap program to called the sapscripts form.

  • How to print a Barcode VERTICALLY in a SAP Script ?

    Dear Experts..
I have to print a Barcode <b>vertically</b> in a SAP Script.
Could you please help me regarding this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey SR,
    follow these steps :
    Bar code  in Smartform :
    General definition of Bar code:
Bar codes are standardized characters of a symbol made up of a group of lines and spaces that can be recognized by an optical scanner. Bar codes uniquely identify article data, production numbers or transport units, for example. They can also contain additional information such as batch number, expiration date or weight.
    Example
In the Logistics Execution System (LES), certain field entries can be represented by bar codes and printed on the transfer documents. This simplifies certain data entry processes such as order confirmation.
    Type of bar code:
Bar codes are based on a binary principle and consist of a series of stripes/gaps of different widths. The sequence of the stripes or gaps results in an (alpha) numeric statement. Bar codes are read optically. Due to varying requirements, bar codes may differ with regard to the following aspects:
    •     printer tolerance
    •     decoding tolerance
    •     character width
    •     automatic check
    •     number of characters
Steps to implement bar code in the smartform:
    •     Use the transaction code smartstyle. Give a suitable name .Choose create.
    •     In change mode of the Smart Style select the Character formats node and choose Create.
    •     In the Character format field enter a two-character character key.
    •     Select the desired attributes of the Bar Code on the tab Standard Settings.
    •     Choose Activate.
    •     Assign the character format to the field or character string in the smartform.
    •     Activate the smartform.
    •     Test the same.
    Regards,
    Kunal.

  • SAP-Script; Is it possible to handle the BOX -Statement dynamic?

    Hi Scripters!
My consultant wants a box around some information in a SAP-Script form.
Normally this is quite easy, BUT in this case i have the information (which needs the box around) printed after the positions.
So problem is: the box can not have a certain position in the Form since i dont know how much positions are to be printed.
    any ideas on this subject?

    Hi Florian,
Yes it is possible to play arount with positions of Box.
You can pass variable name in between & in place of fixed XPOS and YPOS.
and pass value to that dynamic variable.
You have to test a lot with different values in those variables for pefect settings.
Hope it will solve your problem.
    Regards
    Krishnendu
