Is anyone working on a TextField-compatible wrapper for TextFlow? Is FTETextField usable?

We have a body of existing code that depends on the venerable TextField object, but we'd like to be able to take advantage of the new bidirectional text
capabilities in the TLF.
I see there is a class in the SDK called FTETextField, which says it implements the TextField API. Has anyone used this
successfully to emulate a TextField with existing code? I saw some blog entries as recently as February saying that
the FTETextField was working only partially. Or are there other alternatives that people have been using?
I have been thus far writing my own collection of compatibility routines, and am not sure whether to continue with that approach or try to work
with the FTETextField as it stands, hoping it will sustain further improvements and support.

There is a swc in the Adobe Flash CS 5 application (Flash Pro). If you look in <Flash application folder>/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/libs you will find a file named tlfRuntime.swc. You should be able to use this w/Flash Builder, although I'm not certain if anyone has done that yet. Anyway, you can use the class TLFTextField which should do what you want. But please note that this class is not included in the Open Source distribution. TLFTextField is documented in the AS documentation on Adobe's web site, and it does support the right-to-left layout direction, and the editing of it as well.

Consider running your Adobe and AppleWorks software in Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed in Parallels in Lion or Mt. Lion:

That appears to be a hard drive based camecorder. Usually these mount on the desktop of your computer as a little white hard drive icon. If you go inside you should be able to find the movie files the camera is saving. See what format they are (the last 3 letters at the end of the file name is a good place to start).
You can drag the movie files from the camera hard drive to the computer to copy them. Then convert them with a video file conversion program to a format iMovie can understand.
Try converting one of the files using a video file conversion program like Video Monkey: http://videomonkey.org/downloads/
In the "Convert to" drop down menu choose "DV" (Preferred), "Quicktime", or "MP4". Then import the resulting file into iMovie and see if that works any better.
If that program can't convert the files you can try another file conversion program:

Unlikely. Based on the complete lack of detail of the issue provided it is entirely possible the same issue would occur.
Unless and until the user provides some actual details of the problem, there is nothing the indicate that the issue is with the iPhone.

If the site has been optimised for IE (which is non-standards compliant), the best you can try is to spoof IE from Safari.
I'm using an earlier version of Safari than you, so I hope Allan or someone will correct me if the procedure is different.
First, go to Safari Preferences and enable the developer menu;
Then go to the menu and select User Agent - choose a flavour of IE.
Works about 50% of the time.
It won't work if the site is using Activex controls.

Port Forwarding.....or Port Mapping....as Apple calls it is a difficult and complex configuration method for most users. Because there are so many variables involved in this type of setup, it is not possible to provide a step by step guide that will work for everyone with all devices.
It is possible that a setup guide exists for the the WD drive and AirPort Extreme, but you will have to go looking for it on the Internet. Even if you find one, it may not be tailored to your specific situation or needs.
Sometimes, you can do everything right....at least according to someone's article or "how to" guide, and things still will not work correctly.
In situations like this, when you really don't know what to do, you need to enlist the aid of an IT pro, who will know what to do based on your particular products and unique circumstances. Sometimes....they won't be able to get things working either due to particular circumstances.
But, before you do this, I would strongly recommend that you use a Static IP address for your Internet connection with your ISP. If you do not have this now, contact them to ask them if they offer this type of connection. Expect to pay more for this type of service, of course.

Has anyone worked with eView under JCAPS 5.1.X? I am exploring the use of this tool in a project and I would like to talk to someone who has real world experience.

Using eView to uniquely identify the person is a good solution especially when customizing the OTDs to each specific source.

Well, it depends, impossible to make a blanket statement here.
With our case, a dedicated eView (logical host) domain is deployed, another domain is deployed for HL7 messages. JMS queues and topics are the the integration layers between them. Currently, looking into JMS Grid for a logical decoupling and clustering between domains.
Also, going to migrate our eGate SRE messages to JCAPS gradually, the messages which pertain to patient demographic events (ADT) will subscribe to JMS topics wired to eView.
The great thing about JCAPS (J2EE) is to logically partition components wand then deploy as required. For example, going to deploy HL7 message collaborations and eView components to a single domain now because transactions are low.
Designed this without consultants, have many years experience with J2EE software development, my problem is with the limited JCAPS Netbeans IDE functionality - ready for JCAPS 5.2!
Anyway, the eIndex project included with JCAPS, should get you started, forget the "patient" semantics, this is really a person in disguise.

Is anyone working with large datasets ( 200M) in LabVIEW?

I am working with external Bioinformatics databasesa and find the datasets to be quite large (2 files easily come out at 50M or more). Is anyone working with large datasets like these? What is your experience with performance?

Colby, it all depends on how much memory you have in your system. You could be okay doing all that with 1GB of memory, but you still have to take care to not make copies of your data in your program. That said, I would not be surprised if your code could be written so that it would work on a machine with much less ram by using efficient algorithms. I am not a statistician, but I know that the averages & standard deviations can be calculated using a few bytes (even on arbitrary length data sets). Can't the ANOVA be performed using the standard deviations and means (and other information like the degrees of freedom, etc.)? Potentially, you could calculate all the various bits that are necessary and do the F-test with that information, and not need to ever have the entire data set in memory at one time. The tricky part for your application may be getting the desired data at the necessary times from all those different sources. I am usually working with files on disk where I grab x samples at a time, perform the statistics, dump the samples and get the next set, repeat as necessary. I can calculate the average of an arbitrary length data set easily by only loading one sample at a time from disk (it's still more efficient to work in small batches because the disk I/O overhead builds up).
Let me use the calculation of the mean as an example (hopefully the notation makes sense): see the jpg. What this means in plain english is that the mean can be calculated solely as a function of the current data point, the previous mean, and the sample number. For instance, given the data set [1 2 3 4 5], sum it, and divide by 5, you get 3. Or take it a point at a time: the average of [1]=1, [2+1*1]/2=1.5, [3+1.5*2]/3=2, [4+2*3]/4=2.5, [5+2.5*4]/5=3. This second method required far more multiplications and divisions, but it only ever required remembering the previous mean and the sample number, in addition to the new data point. Using this technique, I can find the average of gigs of data without ever needing more than three doubles and an int32 in memory. A similar derivation can be done for the variance, but it's easier to look it up (I can provide it if you have trouble finding it). Also, I think this funtionality is built into the LabVIEW pt by pt statistics functions.
I think you can probably get the data you need from those db's through some carefully crafted queries, but it's hard to say more without knowing a lot more about your application.

I have a WCF RIA wrapper around a SOAP service and all the simple entities work just fine. Unfortunately Lightswitch does not like my represenation of complex entities like SalesInvoice that contains a list of SalesInvoiceLines. How should I represent
such an entity in RIA so that Lightswitch can accept it? Do I use the AssociationAttribute? If so what format? What type of collection/list/entityset should the SalesInvoiceLines be? An Example would be very useful.

According to your description above, I researched this issue, I found that while both OData and RIA Services support complex types on entities, due to scheduling constraints LightSwitch will not.
If a complex type property is exposed on an entity, LightSwitch will import the entity, ignoring that property. Further information:

I'm brand new to this having jumped from CS2 to CS5 but have printed out the charts and am swotting up. MY bodies are aging (the cameras that is but...) and tend to be ignored as everyone is assumed to buy the latest in hi-tech land. My16-35 will be first on the tripod but it is the original Mk . I love the lens but people on the ends of line-ups don't benefit in the waistline area: Most of my work there's no time to fix such things - but faster computers mean that shooting in RAW can actually save time as files just need a quick bash in converter- colour and lens profiling are just wonderful aids - much more exciting than content aware watermark remover in my opinion.

Alps Touchpad driver not working while PS/2 Compatible driver works on touchpad - Win 8.1

I am using HP PAVILION 14-N201T X Laptop ( 4th Gen Intel Core i5 4200U- 4GB RAM- 1T B HDD- 14 Inches- Win8. 1- 2GB Graph). Suddenly, yesterday, when I restarted my laptop, Alps Touchpad stopped functioning. I have tried different methods, including downloading Windows 8.1 updates (which include Alps Touchpad driver upgrade), downloading Alps touchpad driver from HP Support website. However, Alps touchpad is not functioning. If it helps, I may mention that Alps touchpad is shown plugged into PS/2 mouse port. After I uninstall Alps touchpad driver, the laptop starts using PS/2 Compatible Mouse for the touchpad which is also shown plugged into PS/2 mouse port. However, with this driver, while the touchpad can move the cursor anywhere and the tapping works (for the left-click equivalent), the right-click button on touch-pad is not working and the I cannot hold and scroll the scroll-bar in the right of any window with the help of touchpad. A touchpad click in the blank area of scroll bar moves only a very little distance. However, all this appears to show that touchpad hardware may be alright, there is some problem with Alps touchpad driver. I have also started using a USB mouse with the laptop, but that is inconvenient. I purchased this laptop about a year back. What can I do to resolve this problem?

1. Install MS Framework 3.5 SP1 (control panel/programs/add windows features)
2. Get the Hotkey Support driver in version 4.5.9.1 for Windows 7 from HP driver site for EliteBook 8460p (it is sp56876)
3. Unzip the package
4. Go to C:\swsetup\sp56876 and open properties and go to the tab "compatibility" and chose from the compatibility mode list "Windows 7"
5. Check "run as admin"
6. Install
