Is db_name is the only parameter for creating database ? [Exper. on 32-bit]

Because of the discussion present in the following thread, I did few experiments and would you like to share with you. Hope it is a useful information for you guys.

Error 1519 happened during db open, shutting down database
USER: terminating instance due to error 1519
It was thought that shared_pool memory area is not
sufficient. Then thought to know how oracle will behave on
setting sga_target parameter.

ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 121634816 bytes -- Got around 121m 
Fixed Size 1247636 bytes
Variable Size 54527596 bytes
Database Buffers 62914560 bytes
Redo Buffers 2945024 bytes
Now create database statement got success here.
Instance got few extra Mbs of memory and oracle can create
the database.
Then it was thought that, why to give 121Mb even. Let exactly 113246208 bytes be devoted to the instance.

sga_target=113246208 -- providing exact number of bytes as obtained in default case
SQL> startup nomount
ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 113246208 bytes
Fixed Size 1247588 bytes

 Now create database statement got success here as
well. Because of sga_target, automatic shared memory
management enabled and instance was taking care of buffer
cache, shared pool, large pool, java pool and
streams_pool. In this case shared pool got 46m (greater
than default case value). Java pool and Large pool got 4
mb each and buffer cache got 54m.

By providing 113246208 bytes (as in default case) of
memory to SGA by setting sga_target value, Oracle gave
extra memory to shared_pool and buffer cache than in case
of default, thus helping create database statement to get
pass. Oracle always recommends to use automatic shared
memory management by setting sga_target parameter value.
Hope this experiment provides few clues about automatic
shared memory management feature of Oracle 10g. This case
was conducted on 32-bit Oracle. It is quite possible that
create database statement might get success in 64-bit
Platform as by default Oracle will provide 84 Mb to Shared
pool. But to confirm, it has to be experimented.

Ah.. then I suspect you just need to go to Logic's prefs/Audio and check CoreAudio...
It has been unchecked somehow...

What are the basic steps for creating a content repository?

I am trying to create a document store on a file system (fsdb) that will hold files that are ftp's to that location. Is this possible using KM? If so, what are the basic steps for creating a file system repository and using it through KM? I have found stuff on help.sap.com but that only tells you what each component does not what actual steps need to be taken to setup KM, such as user rights , creating an entry point, so that all of KM is not visible, etc...
If anyone knows of any guides that show a step by step process that would be great too.

Hi Paul
First of all you need to create a new repository
Suppose you want to add all the documents under folder Paul under C: Drive
(Even you can put whole documents of C: drive into Paul)
Navigate to System Admin -> System Configuration -> Knowledge management -> Content Management -> Repository Manager -> File System Repository
There you can create a new directory by clicking on button New
Give the parameters as follows :-
Name               :           Anything you like
Description       :           Anything you want
Prefix (must start with /) : Probably same as your repository name like \Paul
Lookup mode : caseless
Root Directory   : C:\Paul
NOTE: This is the trick. You need to give the proper path means folder path which you want use as repository)
Repository Services : Any services you want
Property Search : Managercom.sapportals.wcm.repository.manager.generic.search.SimplePropertySearchManager
Security Manager         :           AclSecurityManager
ACL Manager Cache   :           ca_cm_rep_acl
The save it
Now see whether the same repository is coming under KM Content or not, if not may be after restart it will come.

Delivery Address coming as a default in the home screen for creating a SHC

Dear Experts
I have done some changes in the delivery address and while saving it was asking to maintain as a default address otherwise it was not able to save the changes I made.So I maintained it as a default and saved the changes.
Now the issue is when we are in the home screen for creating a SHC this delivery address is coming as default.As we dont want this dekivery address to be default on the screen and the requirement is that user should be able to search the delivery address.
So we dont want that defaulted address.The other reasons were also checked and no where in the attributes we ahave maintained this default delivery adress.
Can you please help us how can we remove this defaulted delivery addres in the SHC creation screen.

I again repeat I think you have not understood my question.These are very basic things you are mentioning about how to change the delivery address.i know all about this and in my query I have clearly asked that during the change option its asking to maintain the default delivery address and even if I dont select it my changes wont be saved.Second is even if I maintain another delivery address only then from the first delivery address the default screen will be unticked.
Because the issue here is that what ever the delivery address is maintained its defaulting in the shop screen for the creation of the SHC.
So my reequirement is how to set this.I have checked attributes and nowhere this delivery address has been maintained.
Brief about Issue:
We have done some changes in the delivery address (Transaction Edit
internal addresses in the URL screen)and during the save it was asking
us to maintain it as a default address without which it was not able to
save.So after saving on the creation of the shopping cart screen this
delivery address is coming as a default value.
We dont want this to be defaulted and the user should have the search
functionality for the delivery address.This problem is happening for
the org id for which I have done the changes.When i assign my user id
to the other org id the defaulted delivery address is not shown on the
shopping cart creation home screen.
We have checked in the attributes of the user and the org id and
nowhere this delivery address has been maintained.
I have checked the settings for the other org id for which it was not
showing as defaulted on the shopping cart creation screen and compared
these two and was not able to find any difference.Could you plase let
us know the problem in this case.

The Critical Problems for Creating Standby Database:(I want to create a physical standby database on the same system of the primary database)
1. Should I copy all the backup datafiles, standby controlfile and password file to a same directory before the first time to mount the standby database?
2. Before mounting the standby database, Should I change the datafile's name to a new one in the standby controlfile? How to change them?
3. When issuing the command to mount the standby database, should I specify the controlfile's name.(using which controlfile to mount)
These problems are not clearly secified in Oracle documentations.

Can you point us to the Windows specific documentation you refer to?
The parameter DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT should take care of the new mapping for your datafiles (and LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT for logs), so you should be able to put them where you want and use the parameter to point Oracle to the correct location. You should not need to change the name in the controlfile.
Place your standby controlfiles where you have the control files defined in your parameter file and Oracle should recofgnise that it is a standby db. You should not need to specify which controlfiles to use (if this is even possible), your CONTROL_FILES init parameter points to them.
Not sure about the password file....my instances are on separate boxes and the password file has the same name on both primary and standby.

TDMS Shell is a form of system copy where you copy an existing source system into a target system but only the non-application related data. TDMS Shell is a prerequisite for other TDMS processes.
Regarding prerequisites for Shell - all prerequisites and preparation that apply to SAP system copy apply for Shell also. Refer to SAP system copy guide for the same.

Only SkinLF for creating irregular windows?

I have tried to get an answer on my question at Java new but no success. I hope that somebody here will help me!
I have downloaded SkinLF and very eager to use it. I want to use it by NetBeans 4.0. For themes there are no problems. But when I want to create irregular window or trying to run Clock Batch File from SkinLF the following message appears "If you are using JDK 1.4 (I am using jdk1.5) and it complains about jawt.dll use jdk.home\jre\bin\java instead of jdk.home\bin\java". I have tried to change NetBeans .config file but then NetBeans failure to run. May be I am doing something not in a right way or it is impossible to run SkinLF within NetBeans 4.0 environment at all?
Another question, is there only SkinLF for creating irregular windows? Can you recommend another tool(s) (probably JDK 1.5 already has something new)?
Please advise.

Various folders. It usually allows me to re-save older files, but a new save is practically impossible to accomplish. I tried Reducing Transparency, as suggested in earlier posts to no avail. Also, when I drag an eps icon into Illustrator, it asks me if I want to retain the 9-slice scaling options for symbols — not sure what that means. Tried that both ways, with no results. Just had it crash on me 8 times this evening!

"The Oracle Database 10g Release 2 database controls and balances all parallel operations, based upon available resources, request priorities and actual system load." It show that Oracle can optimize the Parallel level automaticly.
Should I specify the Parallel parameter for a non-RAC database? Most of the transactions are small OLTP.

What parallel parameter are you talking about?
Generally, you may benefit from parallelization in a very similar manner on RAC as on single instance system. And it is in both cases not sufficient to change the value of any initialization parameter to achieve parallelization of queries, DDL or DML.
