Is file created by report CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE mandatory in CRM Role Design

Hi All,
The CRM 7security guide mentions usage of file created by report CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE for Designing role. Can anyone suggest, whether it is Manadatory to perform this report.
I have designed Role, WITHOUT using this report.

my understanding-The report produces the file from a Business Role, which contains Services/BSPs,etc.... This file needs to be imported into Menu Tab, by option 'Import From File'. So, when these Services/BSPs are added into Menu tab, they will auto-populate their SU24 entries(authorization objects) in Authorization Tab(like in Transaction Codes)
Could you be clear on "report CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE will help you with generating the CONTENT automatically", as mentioned by you. Which CONTENT: Entries(Services,etc...) in Menu Tab OR their SU24 auth. Objects.
Also, "you can import the file from PFCG profile menu" is not clear. Which MENU are you referring here? The MENU tab which contains Services/BSPs,Transaction Codesetc.. OR the MENU bar inside Authorization Tab
Could you suggest on this, as i this is what i am desparately looking for

How would I open an existing Excel file that has been created by the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit?
Let me explain my application. I have made a test program to collect data on a device. Each time I run the program I want it to append a new row onto an existing data file. Since the tests I do are sometimes over a period of days, I cannot keep the program open and running continuously. So I have to open an existing file and append the new data to it. In technical terms, what I need is to get the 'report out' reference to the existing Excel data file without losing the data that is already there.

For info on accessing Excel do a search in the examples for the word "Excel" you will get an example that shows how to open a spreadsheet and manipulate the data. This should get you started.

Image barcode file creating with report using barcode javabean

hi all
I have report in report 9i using barcode javabean.
at runtime my report make image file with barcodevalue name on desktop.
i have to change this folder .I dont want to have this image file on desktop.
i set REPORTS_TMP on registery but i have this file on desktop again.
what set i must do to change this folder?

You have to change registry settings by going through REGEDIT. Under hkey_local_machine/software/oracle/<oracle home>, look for variable REPORTS_TMP. Change value for this, for example c:\windows\temp or something like that where you want oracle reports to create temp files.

It sounds like you're defeating the power and purpose of Crystal Reports, or replace it with pure PHP (which I suppose could be done... but why?)
What exactly are you trying to do?
If you're trying to make certain parts of the report hide or reveal or change depending on variables settings in the PHP file, that's easy enough to accomplish by sending parameters with your PHP values into the report. But the dynamic actions really need to be done within the report itself, accomplished through ample use of the section and field settings provided within the Report Designer.

In most cases everything works fine.
But the service crashes after some/many reports (e.g. after 270 reports or after 1.400 reports). There is no fix number of reports that causes the service to crash.

Unfortunately, it is not a piece of code that I can send. The SQL would be embedded inside Oracle Reports tool, and you would have the option to save the output of the report in PDF format.
Once you have the Oracle Report developed, you can execute it from command line prompt and save the output to a pdf file. In your case, the cursor would be embedded inside Oracle Report

The code looks absolutely good. I have the same code working in my system. Only difference is I use TRUE and DBMS_LOB.Session for the BLOB I use to read from the BFILE.
I can suggest one more way to handle to binary attachments if you are on Oracle 9i DB are later versions.

My question is, in its entirety: Can a single report (rpt file) create multiple PDF files using the export command, ideally one PDF file per DB record?
In my case; I have a Crystal Report that reads data from a DB table containing ~ 500 records. When I export the report to a PDF file, I get one PDF file, with ~ 500 pages.
What I would like to do is export the report to ~ 500 individual PDF files; One file per DB record. The file names would be based on the table's primary key.
Is this possible?

Hi,
you need some lines of code, but its easy. Dependend on how to start the generation of your 500 PDFs, you can write an ASP page and start it via Web Browser, or a Windows Script and start it via scheduled job...
Here's an abstract of the ASP code I use:
First, you create a recordset (here: "rsc") which gives you the list of ID fields you want to export, then you create CrystalRuntime.Application object, then you loop through the recordset, open your report (here: "oRpt") and set login info. Then set the selectionformula, so that the report displays only the data of the current ID, e.g.:
oRpt.RecordSelectionFormula = "(" & oRpt.RecordSelectionFormula & ") AND {myTab.myVal}=" & rsc("myVal")
Then you export the report, move to the next record in recordset, and repeat the loop until recordset.EOF. Then you close recordset and connection.

Currently user saves data from abap report to spreadsheet(.xls format) in desktop. Then opens excel file and save as .csv format. Need option to save directly in .csv format instead of .xls format.

Create SSRS report using Schedule Perfomance Index(SPI) from mpp file

Hi,
We have project server data available in sql server. We need to create SSRS report to show schedule performance Index(SPI) of each week of all the projects. So we have the TaskSPI data available in MSP_EPMTask_Userview table. But the corresponding project
status date is represented once for each projects. Is the weekly status dates keeping anywhere in the database? How can achieve this functionality?

Hi Julie,
SPI is calculated at task level and is also a timephased indicator (since BCWP and BCWS are also timephased). There are calculated based on the status date (project tab in the ribbon) which is at project level. The project status date is not kept in
time, this is a unique value thus you do not have a weekly status date.
Do you mean you want to keep an history of each value of the status date? Does it really make sense?

In one machine the file is like

In my machine it is

As you can see all is in one line.
Both machines are Windows Vista same version, same model (hehe).
Any idea of why this differente?

My problem comes from report CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE
This report generates a file that can be uploaded to PFCG. When I try to load the file I receive an error message. I saw the file and the generated file has the same problem.
So I create this test program to see if it is a program error or it is something wrong with my computer.
The test gave me the same result. NO carriage returns.
So I need to solve this issue to run again CRMD_UI_ROLE_PREPARE and get a correct file.
So I think it is configuration of my user or with my computer.
Any idea?

API to create expense reports

Are there any apis available in R12 to create expense report in iExpense?
We are receiving a flat file with employee expenses and we need to import these expenses into oracle and create expense reports, send it for approval, finally create invoices in payables.
Flow:
Expenses flat file --> Expense Report creation in iExpense --> Approval --> Audit --> Payables InvoiceThanks in advance!

have a look at documentation of tables
AP_EXPENSE_REPORT_HEADERS
AP_EXPENSE_REPORT_LINES
You can populate those tables with information coming from your flat files, maybe you
must populate some mandatory columns which are not included in your file information.
