Is Flash Server required to incrementally "stream" audio?

I need the ability to jump forward through an mp3 file
without downloading
the entire file.
Do I need Flash Server to do this?
Thank you

Thank you. It would be nice if a watered down version of
Flash Server
existed for people who only need to incrementally stream
audio.

  • Flash CC 2014 Update broke streaming audio in timeline

Is it just me? it used to be that when you started a streaming audio file in frame 1 and when to frame 400 and hit enter to start preview, it would start the audio from frame 400. now it starts over from frame 0. this make animation cueing especially with a soundtrack a complete mess. virtually impossible to sync by sound now. especially when the soundtrack has a consistent waveform and you can't determine where peaks of instruments are.

    Hi,
Do you see this issue consistently across files or on a specific file? If it is specific to a file can you please share the content? Also please post your machine configurations.
    Thanks!

  • Configuring WebLogic 8.1 to serve Streaming Audio and Video

    Hello,
I have a requirement to serve video and audio on my application. Could anyone
please give me the details about how to configure webLogic8.1 for streaming audio/video.
Where should the files be placed? How to go about it...etc...etc.
It would also be very helpful if anyone could direct me to websites or other
resources that can provide extensive details about the same.

it's not a feature unless someone adds it...
You mean Apple will never accepts such feature in the App Store ?
I'm wondering why they want to apply a restriction like this one, this really does not make sense to me...
I've seen in a shop a device with 32gb internal flash to connect to the iphone ipad and use it like an hd for storing stuff, if they allow such thing why they don't allow this one, there is no difference in the end, also they allow streaming thru wi-fi, and they allow media players to store and read audio and video without using itunes. So i really don't get the point of their policy.

  • Streaming audio server - SPA2102

    Hi.
It's possible using the SPA2102 as a streaming audio server. How to connect a external audio source to the FXS port? The manual refers to an adapter / music coupler from neogadgets.com, but they are not answering my e-mails.
    Kind regards
    D.

    Link from neogadgets is
    http://www.neogadgets.com/cart/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17&substring=music+coupler
    From our admin guide
7.2.24. Streaming Audio Server – SAS
This feature allows one to attach an audio source to one of the SPA FXS ports and use it as a streaming audio source device. The corresponding Line (1 or 2) can be configured as a streaming audio server (SAS) such that when the Line is called, the SPA answers the call automatically and starts streaming audio to the calling party provided the FXS port is off-hook. If the FXS port is on-hook when the incoming call arrives, the SPA replies with a SIP 503 response code to indicate "Service Not Available." If an incoming call is auto-answered, but later the FXS port becomes on-hook, the SPA does not terminate the call but continues to stream silence packets to the caller. If an incoming call arrives when the SAS line has reached full capacity, the SPA replies with a SIP 486 response code to indicate "Busy Here". The SAS line can be setup to refresh each streaming audio session periodically (via SIP re-INVITE) to detect if the connection to the caller is down. If the caller does not respond to the refresh message, the SAS line will terminate the call so that the streaming resource can be used for other callers.
7.2.25. Music On Hold – MOH
On a connected call, the SPA may place the remote party on call (the only way to do this on te SPA- 2000 is to perform a hook-flash to initiate a 3-way call or to swap 2 calls during call-waiting). If the remote party indicates that they can still receive audio while the call is holding, the SPA-2000 can be setup to contact an auto-answering SAS as described in Section 4 and have it stream audio to the holding party. When used this way, the SAS is referred to as a MOH Server.

  • Audio Output to Flash Server

    Hi,
I am in the early stages of designing a web application that
will have live streaming audio. Most of the application will be
    hosted on a public web/Java EE/Linux server and I am considering a
hosted FMS solution to handle the streaming of the audio to users.
Now for the tricky part - the audio will be generated by
software on our server that was originally designed to just send
its output to an audio device on the machine it is installed on. Is
there some sort of driver I can install that will accept the output
from this software as if it were a speaker and instead send it to a
    remote Flash server?
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Marc

I would have thought this was a pretty standard conversion but cant find anyone selling something with a 3.5mm jack on one end and a USB jack on the other?

Why don't you use the USB port on your computer to get the audio out? USB to USB.

  • Live streaming audio on flash site

    Hello,
I am new to Flash and I am working on a web page using flash, the page itself is going to be pretty basic, but the situation I am in is this,  we would like to but a live streaming audio feed on the site and I am having trouble figuring out how to add that.  The server it is from is a Broadwave server, and it does stream in MP3.  I would like the audio stream to start automatically when the web page is open.  Any help would be greatly appriciated.

You could build your own player but if you are new to Flash, you might want to just embed or place on the Web page a prebuilt player. For example:
    http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-flv-player/
    or
    http://flowplayer.org/
    or
    http://ffmp3.sourceforge.net/
each player will have it's own config setup for autoplay etc.
    Best wishes,

  • Flash Player for Streaming Audio

I am trying to find out whether it’s possible to do
    something with the Flash Player.
I produce an Internet Radio show on fly fishing,
www.askaboutflyfishing.com. We interview guest experts on a
teleconference call and stream the audio live over the Internet.
Our current broadcast company delivers the audio stream in
the form of a Windows Media Player codec, which our listeners play
    with Windows Media Player.
Is it possible to use a Flash Player to play this same live
    stream?
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
    Thanks,
    D. Roger Maves

Flash uses the Flash Media Server to stream live content,
this content needs to be pushed through the Media Server to go out
to any of your listeners using flash. Since you are already using a
service to pump out a WMA stream they should be able to push this
to a Flash server as well, but because they use different codecs
and different streaming protocols you can not use the same
    stream.

  • Streaming audio from clients to server

    Hi folks,
I am looking for a method in which I can stream audio from a device mac/win to the server which is connected to the good sound system over the local network.
I have looked at pulseaudio and followed the directions in the wiki, but without any results
This was a linux to linux setup. But it seems to only get worse when trying to stream from mac/win (found these pages)
    https://labitat.dk/wiki/Apple/Mac_OS_X#PulseAudio
    http://gleamynode.net/articles/2228/
So what I am looking for here is either a thorough tutorial/directions or a plug n play solution.
Any inputs, links or directions are greatly appreciated, since I have spent this entire weekend researching it, and failed horribly every time

hmm its simple and it sort of works. Their is very little documentation as far as I can see.
I start server by commiting rsd -D -v
    then stream some audio by cat sound.wav | rsdplay -s 127.0.0.1 --raw -r 44100 -c 2
It sounds very sluggish, and it also tells me that Only 8 or 16 bit WAVE files supported.
Also it looks like the last update was a OSS patch which was mentioned in the original thread over a year ago

    Hey guys,
I was wondering if you know of an application that allows you to lets say watch a video, and stream it via rtmp to a flash server, like adobe lash server or red5
    thanks in advance.

If you need to stream out, you'll probably want to use FFserver. I have no real experience there, so I can't help much.

  • How to stream audio / video in java?

    Hello.
I would live to develop a java application (JavaEE, with tomcat or JBoss) that could stream audio / video over the Internet, on a controlled matter.
First, I would have to embed a flash player, correct? Need suggestions on one, paied or free.
My questions are: How can I have the flash player stream audio to users by downloading it from a java app server, if the user has a session and is logged in, etc? (picture myspace here)
Also, how do I measure network traffic in Java? (The flash player of each user will stream the songs, I'd like to know how much bandwith is going around).
The reason that I'm asking this here is because I have no idea of which forum to ask this.
I have been a Java app developper for the past five years, so coding won't be a problem, I just don't know which API / Frameworks to turn to.
    Thanks for all your help.
    Regard,
    Carlos.

(picture myspace here)The same way you would authenticate any website. Usually a database and a challenge/response. If they're not logged in, then instead of writing out the content, write out a 403 status code (or do something more graceful, such as redirect them to the login page).

  • IOS RTMP live stream audio

Hi guys hopefully some of you will be able to help me.
I am trying to stream audio from a live RTMP feed using the NetConnection and NetStream classes. I've managed to get my app running no problem on Android, however I am having some major difficulties getting it to play the audio back on iPad. Interestingly it works in the device emulators when debugging, however I'm assuming this is not really an accurate representation. I've tried streaming the RTMP in both AAC and MP3, but with no luck from either. I can verify through debug that it has connected to the stream, however I just get no audio playing.
Everything I've read about seems to suggest that this is possible on IOS as I'm only interested in audio and not video. Can anyone help?
Code sample below (it's quick and dirty! ).

Just an update on this for anyone coming along after me.
I've managed to get this working on MP3 but not AAC (I guess AAC just isn't supported?).
My problem was the buffertime. The docs seemed to indicate it shoudl be set to 0 for live streaming, however switching it to "1" solved my problem on the particular stream I was pointing at.
So essentially justchanged the above line:
                                            ns.bufferTime = 0;
    to
                                            ns.bufferTime = 1;
Would be great to find out if anyone has gotten AAC working however...

  • Streaming audio to an embedded Linux device

A friend and I are tossing around some ideas for a project, which would be a music-activated RGB lights controller.  We have an ARM board with network connectivity, running Linux.  What we want to be able to do is to stream audio from a laptop/desktop computer to the device, for processing.  I'm not sure what software to use on the computer, for streaming, as well as client software on the embedded board.  Here are my primary constraints:
    1) The streaming software has to run on at least Windows/Linux (although Mac would be a plus), and has to either be part of, or be pluggable into, a music app that's suitable for using playlists and managing large libraries (e.g. something like Songbird, rather than VLC).
    2) The client software needs to have as little overhead as possible, due to the limitations of the embedded board, and it needs to be CLI
    3) We really don't care about the quality of the audio, so long as the waveforms look enough like the originals that the lights can actually correspond to something meaningful in the audio
    4) Service discovery would be a plus, as we'd eventually like to just plug in the controller and go, without having to mess with IP addresses and such
    Any suggestions?
