Is it bug or what?
In my project im having 3 beans in EJB module 2 SLSB and 1 MDB its like 1slsb hav remote interface and other slsb hav local interface. Communication is like Remote Interface (slsb1)->MDB->Local Interface(slsb2) all are deployed in glassfish v2 .
In my web client my servlet is calling just remote interface of slsb1 and i hav put jar path of ejb module in my webclient ..When i deploy my client it fails that and said it cant find ejb refrence ....bla bla bla..
I find 2 solution for that ...
1 When i use remote interface in both slsb then it works fine...(that i really dont want to do).
2 I edited my ejb jar module which i put in classpath of web module and just put remote interface class of slsb1 and remove all other stuff. In this way web client is also successfully deployed and Application works fine.
So my question is this the right way of doing it or there is some bug in glassfish or am i doing something wrong?
It's not a bug. There is no special knowledge of what an ejb-jar module is within a .war. All you need to do is make the classes that you need to invoke the application local or remote EJB visible to the .war. That can mean packaging them in WEB-INF/classes, in a .jar within WEB-INF/lib, or referring to a library .jar packaged at the toplevel of an .ear in which the .war is packaged.

Hi all,
I am running an update of a table with 2 columns from 9.2.0.8 to 8.1.7.4 over database link.
First column (number) is updated, but second appears to be NULL. ?!
I've tried to do it from 8.1.7 to 9.2, but with the same result.
Then I've tried to create a table on 8.1.7 side and insert data from 9.2 into it first, but .... same: NULL values for char colums.
Is it a bug?
What else can I try?

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts? -

From what I can tell, the char array `C' is designed to hold a string like "01:15:48" which is 8 characters. Hence, it needs to be declared as `char C[9]' to have room for the terminating \0. `char C[8]' causes sscanf to smash your stack, as it writes the \0 byte somewhere else. Making that change fixed the program on my computer. Too bad valgrind can't detect that sort of error.

I've got a x86_64 Ubuntu 9.10 machine which uses gcc 4.4.1.
I compile that with -Wall -Wextra -pedantic -pedantic-errors.

I can't explain how this could happen except with a kind of mistake in compiling GCC or in a GCC 4.4.2 bug.
After this, I've tried to compile the source with the Ubuntu GCC with -m32 and link it with the gcc of Archlinux.

Hence, it needs to be declared as `char C[9]' to have room for the terminating \0. `char C[8]' causes sscanf to smash your stack, as it writes the \0 byte somewhere else. Making that change fixed the program on my computer. Too bad valgrind can't detect that sort of error.

Have you ever tried to pass integers from a popup to its
parent after manipulating it?
unfortunately the integer keeps its value in the parent
without applying the changes that happened inside the popup.
So...
Is this a bug or a problem with my code?Actually I passed two variables from the parent to the popup,
one is an array, and the seconed is an integer.
When changing the array inside the popup and adding new
elements to it without referencing it by using the
parentDocument.{the array}, the manipulation was successful and the
parent kept the changes. But when doing the same with the integer,
the parent didn't accept the change and kept its value without
changing, so I had to reference the integer using the
parentDocument.{the integer} which is the opposite of what is
described in the flex mannual under the topic of "passing data from
and to the popup", and that was the reason of my wonder.
Do you have any idea of why is that? -

TomSure it is not a bug. A select list requires a display and a return value. Also, a column alias is required for the apex item. How about using this:

New Apple discution forums bugs or what?
Hi,
Since the new forums become online, I must admit there is many different issues that looks strange to me.
For instance:
- when I post, I get a screen with only the top Apple site icons and the botton site support links. I have then to browse back to the discution I was from the start. Anoying.
- The icon that were just added a few weeks ago for level 3 users to report bad post is no longer there.
- No personal icons, which I do not really care of, but still...
- I loose all the subscription to the thread I was in. too bad I suppose.
- the links over the threads somethimes point only to the top discution forum. No way to get back to the forum I was in before when I am in my profile for example.
- in some places of the forum, the display are a little bit confusing. For example, in the iPod there is a link to iPod with color display at the top, then a full catégorie of folder on the same subject in the middle of the page. Why?
- before the merge, I was about 1220 points to the next level, now I am ~2400 to the next one. No explanation on why that change...
- the general look and feel is more confusing than on previous versions. For example, the last version had a line of icons for edit post, and voting, that is now all gone and put almost everywhere.
- The last version had post numbers and subpost numbers (I mean post 3 was reply by post 3.1 which was reply by post 3.1.1). This classification was usefull, but we loose that.
- the subscribe posts were send by email as full message, now I have to get to the forum to see the full answer, because the mail just contain information stating it was updated but not the message itself. It was more than usefull from what I know.
I just hope Apple read this and make some adjustment...Just use the same one on all devices.

5800 xm - bug or what else... it restarts itself a...

I'm the (for everything else lucky) owner of a 5800 XM, that works almost great.
Dunno what's the cause, it resets itself (does a partial reboot, showing the white screen with the Nokia blue logo) in several ordinary use circumstances. For example, it will almost certainly reset itself after sending an ordinary text message.
Already tried hard resetting, firmware upgrade, etc... never formatted my memory card, btw, and always restored settings from backup.
I even tried reinstalling firmware (31.0.101) but didn't solve.
Ideas?

I've followed the Tutorial 'Generating a Struts-based JSP Application for an
Application Module'( Jdev 9.0.3 Prod Release), where I'm working with only one table.
After all files are generated, I run the main.html, and this is what I did :
1). click on Browse.
This will list the data. In my case, I have 20 rows.
2). click on Query.
Put your value that you want to search, then click on 'Search' button.
In my case, I have 1 row returned.
3). now click back on Browse.
This time it display 2). rather than 1). !!!!

There are different way to go at it depending what your application need to do.
The fact is, the browse and the query page are looking at the same ViewObject and as long as that will be true you will need to reset the criteria one way or another.
That would be the first solution, in the browse action class (located in the sources and called something like VOnameBrowseAction.java), always reset the criterias using the applyViewCriteria method. Your new execute method would like like:

}The drawback (maybe) is that you loose your criterias, so the next time your will query, the criterias will be empty.
The second solution would be create a new ViewObject usage in your datamodel (Business component Application module design time) and use the query page only the new VO.

Calling it a bug doesn't make it so. More likely something is wrong on your end, but since you haven't provided any info on your system or otehr details, nobody can help you.

Creating an alias - is this a bug or what??
Please let me know if this is a bug or a "feature"!!! As I understand things (a few changes since OS 6.0.4 in 1989...) there are 4 ways to create an alias when one is in a folder. For example, I'm in my Applications folder with 300 items in that folder. Generally I put my aps into a folder with the name of that app and the word folder. (I used to use ƒ but read that Unix doesn't appreciate that symbol)-- OK back to the main point: ALIAS creation - 4 ways I know to do this:
1. I right-click and choose Make Alias with the folder or icon selected
2. I hold down the option and command keys and select the folder or icon, then drag it just a bit and voilà - an alias.
3. I choose the folder or icon I want and then do cmd-L to create the alias.
4. I go to the file menu after selecting the folder and choose Make Alias
GREAT all 4 work (is there a 5th way?)--
BUT when I do choices 3 or 4, then instead of everything staying in place, the alias is created and then the screen jumps to the very top - to the "A" or numbered labeled folders / apps!
NOTE: My apps folder has the view choice to ARRANGE BY NAME. If I change this to none - then cmd-L or Make Alias just makes the alias in-place!
BUT choices 1 and 2 also keep the window of my apps folder in the same location EVEN WHEN IN THE ARRANGE BY NAME mode.
Again - is this a bug or a feature? Certainly annoying to make an alias and then have to go back and search for the alias... And note: If arrangement is SNAP TO GRID then choices 3 and 4 for creating an alias also have the screen jump to the "A" folders, i.e. the BUG!
Any comments appreciated - this is a real pain as I keep many of my folders organized by SNAP TO GRID or ORGANIZE BY NAME.

Saturday 22 May 2010Thanks for your fast reply! There are 3 issues and I'm mainly concerned with #3- but I likely confused everyone with my long post - so let me try this:
1. Moving Apps out of the Applications folder: You are right, it is best to keep the apps in the Applications folder. Especially Apple's applications - for the update and maybe other reasons and I do that.
2. Creating an alias and where does the alias go: That's right, it has the same name and just the word alias added to the end so YES it stays right next to the original (especially when the folder is in the Arrange by Name view). So no problem there - mine is the same.
3. Third issue is really my only concern: The act of creating an alias by cmd-L or the menu: In a window that scrolls, i.e. with many apps or several apps with large icon size (I should mention I'm talking in ICON view here)-- when you make an alias, the window automatically scrolls to the very top. So if you have a folder with 300 apps in it and you make an alias of ZEBRA FOLDER, then the alias is in the correct place but the window scrolls to the top (AARDVARK Folder or whatever).
*ADDITIONAL INFO:* After several restarts - yup, this is now NOT happening very often. Mostly the window is NOT scrolling so perhaps I'm wasting your time and others with this post. Let me recheck the next few days and then post again- especially if the problem has disappeared... which it seems is the case... (I should remember to restart 2x when anything unusual before posting!)

Photoshop CS4 -- Bug in What's New
After installing CS4, I looked in Photoshop for What's New, which previously was to be found under help. I finally found it, under Essentials, but instead of launching What's New, instead you get a panel which says "the selected workspace will modify menu and/or keyboard shortcut sets. Would you like to apply this workspace?" What's going on?
Understood. So jsu how do you find What's New in Photoshop CS4? I see that with In Design, What's New is found in the equivalent location and links to an adobe.com page instead of popping up the mysterious message above referenced.
A search in Photoshop CS4 help yields Workspace > What's New in CS4, which obviously isn't working.
