Is it possible to create a connector of TOPdesk database on Service Manager 2012

Hello,
I'm curious if there is a possibility to import database items from other vendors into Service Manager 2012. i.e. Topdesk database items are needed to be imported to Service Manager 2012 CMDB. Is this possible and if yes, how can this be accomplish. Thanks
in advance

You can import almost anything you want, provided you are willing to write the classes and connectors yourself.
I'm not really familiar with Topdesk so you'll have to forgive me if i ask a stupid question, but what data, specifically, are you looking to import? Is this config items where a class might already exist in Service Manager, such as software, computers,
etc?
You might consider
Provance's Data Management Pack; it will let you import anything you can get out of a system as a CSV or SQL. It makes the task of creating objects from import data much easier. It tends to be a little expensive, if all you want is to import data from
one system, but using it to import data from multiple vendor systems, combined with Provance's asset management extensions has provided good value for several of my customers. you can import this data
using the default CSV connector, but that tends to be a little unwieldy for anything buy the simplest data
If this is data that probably doesn't have an existing class in Service Manager, like Contracts, etc, you might have to create the classes to support that data using the authoring tool, or find a third party extension to host that.

    Hi
    It can be the
Asset Intelligence that you have to enable in SCCM.
Look here how you do it:

  • How to create drop down option in service manager 2012 incident portal

    Hii,,
Please assist how to create drop down option in service manager 2012 SP1 default incident portal. We would like to provide the drop down option in "Please enter the title for the Issue" to our users.
    Regards, Syed Fahad Ali

As was already referenced, you could use a Simple List for the prompt, however if you are referring to the default General Incident that is available out-of-the-box, you might be limited in what you can modify.
I did some work for a client, that wanted to have a list and other options for the General Incident through the Portal. So, I ended up having to create a custom General Incident instead of using the default one, which will then allow you to add any type
of prompts, and configure them as you want (i.e. with a simple list).

  • Using emails to create service requests in Service Manager 2012 R2

I have a portal form created and am able to direct the flow of service requests to the proper service request fulfillment view. I cannot see an obvious way to take in emails and create service requests, they always create incident requests. Any thoughts?

Service requests are meant to be a well defined process which is hard to achive with an email (because the sender can write anything). With that being said the
3.0 RTM exchange connector should be able to create service requests.  From the documentation:
Service Manager. Exchange Connector 3.0 contains bug fixes and the initial set of features, which includes the following capabilities:
Create incidents and service requests from email.

  • Service Manager 2012 R2 Looking for the SDK method for Select All management packs OMCI Connector

    Hi all,
I'm working through a script that updates the OpsMgr CI connector's MP sync list after a MP import. What I want to do is a Select All to sync the OpsMgr MP's I just imported into Service Manager. Just like checking the Select All
box after refreshing the connector in the GUI.
I have been through the cmdlets and looked at the assemblies in VS. I can't find the method that does this.
    I found IsNullPropertySkipped under
    Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.Connectors.OpsMgr but that's it
    And nothing in here
    Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.Sdk.Connectors.Connector
Must be missing it, and am not having much luck with TechNet.
    Thanks much–Drew

I'm afraid you won't find a quick'n'easy solution for this. I'll start out by saying I don't know if Powershell has any cmdlets for this..but I know you can use the .NET SDK via powershell to do whatever you need to do. So my post focuses on the SDK/C#. You
should be able to adapt it in Powershell.
The function you want to replicate (check-all) is unique to the Operations Manager CI connector implementation and, as such, my post below may sound a bit overwhelming.
Let me start by describing where an OM CI connector's selected management packs are stored. They're stored in the connector's workflow rule (specifically, in its WriteAction module).  Take a look at the ServiceManager.LinkingFramework.Configuration
management pack where all OM CI connector rules are stored. Look for a rule that starts with "OMConnector." (the dot will be followed by some random string of text and "_SyncRule"). Take a look at the <WriteAction> and you'll see an <MPList>
node that contains a bunch of <MPInfo> nodes. Each <MPInfo> node represents a management pack that was selected in the OM CI Connector wizard.
So, if I understand what you're trying to do, when you import a new MP into Service Manager, you want to add that MP to the OM CI connector's sync list. First; if that MP doesn't exist in OpsMgr, there isn't much point to adding it to the sync list, so I'll
assume you want to add MPs to the sync list that also exist in OpsMgr). Second; there may be other constraints on what MPs you can actually choose in that OM CI wizard and it would be wise to respect those constraints in your own solution. In any case, you'll
have to modify the OM CI connector's rule's write action. There are a couple approaches you can try.
You can try using Microsoft's helper classes that were built for OM CI Connectors (check out the OpsMgrConnectorHelper class and related classes in the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.OpsMgrConnectorUtils.dll.
Also check out the OpsMgr connector wizard classes in the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.UI.Administration.dll).
The other possible approach is to modify the connector's rule directly using the SDK's ManagementPackRule and ManagementPackWriteActionModule classes. You can easily get your OM CI connector's rule using the management pack's "GetRule" method (or the EnterpriseManagementGroup's
Monitoring.GetRule method). The management pack rule has a "WriteActionCollection" which is a collection of ManagementPackWriteActionModule objects. There should be only one ManagementPackWriteActionModule in an OM CI rule's write action collection.
This object has a "Configuration" property..it contains a giant block of XML that holds all of the <MPInfo> nodes I mentioned earlier. So, you can modify that block of XML, then write the changes back to the management pack using the management pack's
AcceptChanges() method. Here's the basic structure:
    ManagementPack mpLinkingFramework = emg.ManagementPacks.GetManagementPack(new Guid("50DAAF82-06CE-CACB-8CF5-3950AEBAE0B0")); //ServiceManager.LinkingFramework.Configuration
    ManagementPackRule mpr = mpLinkingFramework.GetRule("<my connector's rule's name>");
    ManagementPackWriteActionModule mpwam = mpr.WriteActionCollection[0];
String myConfig = mpwam.Configuration; //This is the XML block you want to update
    myConfig = "<a modified configuration with my new <MPInfo> node>";
    mpwam.Configuration = myConfig;
    mpLinkingFramework.AcceptChanges();
Please note I haven't personally tried modifying an OM CI connector's rule using this method and I can't promise it will work..you'll definitely want to try it in a test environment first. But I can say I have modified my own connectors (and other write actions)
using this technique and it works fine. I just can't say for sure how it might affect an OM CI connector since I haven't tried it myself.
Though my post here is definitely _not_ a solution, hopefully it will give you some guidance on how you might approach your solution.
Maybe someone else here has personally used the OM CI connector classes and can give you some better insight.

  • Service Manager 2012 R2 - create own profiles

    Hi,
i searched the whole internet about my issue and dont find an answer. Is it possible to create an security profile in the Service Manager. I dont mean a userrole. It is important to create an profile from which you can inheriat the rights and create an own
userrole from it. We will need it to give our analysts rights for some classes, tasks, relations and so on. I saw that it is possible to make changes on the existing profiles, but we need the original profiles and want to add an new profile. i hope there is
    a solution.
    thanks in advance.
    regards

As far as I know it's not possible to create new user profiles in SCSM. The only option you have is to create a new user role based on one of the default user roles.

  • Is it possible to create a copy of entire database, not the data, but just database structure?

    Greetings community,
This question is related to EXPRESS edition.
Let’s say that I have MyDatabase2014 and I’ve been populating it with some data during the year 2014. Before the end of the year, I want to prepare another database named MyDatabase2015, which should be empty, but of course it should have
all tables, relations, indexes and stored procedures just like MyDatabase2014. The idea is just to change a connection string and to continue using the same app for the same job.
So in SSMS, I right-clicked the database, choose script database as / create to / new query, but I didn’t get what I wanted. In query window I’ve got just create database statement, and below that few dozen of alter database set ansi this
or that statements, and set many other things. However, no table creation was scripted. Also, no stored procedures have been created, and about users, and other security objects better not to start to talk about.
I could have achieved that simply by right-clicking databases node and select new database. So what’s the point of “script database as”?
Does this work in SQL server editions other than EXPRESS?
When it comes to express edition, what’s the best practice to get the empty copy of a database?
    Thanks for any help.

For scripting out the users and their permissions you can use this script

  • Is it possible to create nested tables in MySql database?

I am currently working on a project with my team and I'm in charge of designing the database. It's going to be a service delivery app that's going to have the name of several clients and their respective list services and cost of each service. The problem I'm having right now is finding a way to create separate tables, menus if you will, of their list of services offered since they all have different prices.
Here's my question, can I create individual tables within a larger table (nested tables) using MySQL or would you recommend a different method?
Please bear in min this is my first SQL project and I've had no prior experience with it.

  • Service Manager 2012 R2 - Exchange connector - Resolve an incident

I am trying to resolve an incident by adding [Resolved] to the subject of an email. The email already has [IR###] in it.
Responding to the email does update the incident so the Exchange connector is working. However adding the additional [Resolved] does not actually Resolve the ticket.
I verified the parsing keyboard was indeed [Resolved]
Ideas? I had trouble finding any detailed documentation on this feature.

The [IRxyz] needs to be in the
subject of the email, the [Resolved] must be in the
    body of the email.
Than it should work with resolving the incident via email ;-)
    Hope this helps.

  • Create multiple instance in a database

is it possible to create multiple instance in a database.if possible then is it possible to activate many instance at a time.(in personal edition)

Instance in Oracle refers to the Oracle database "engine" - a collection of processes using a shared memory area, accessing a physical Oracle database.
Multiple instances are possible on the same platform for different physical databases. But not a Good Idea..
Multiple instances on different platforms are for the same physical database using Oracle Real Application Clusters, aka Oracle RAC.
Thus your question does not make a lot of sense. My guess is that you are in fact refering to an Oracle session instead as this is "in the database" as you refered to.
Each client that connect to Oracle, creates/establishes an Oracle session. A single client uses one (usually the default) or more sessions (usually used by a multi-threading client).
By default, the Oracle Instance supports multiple Oracle (client) sessions. Including Personal Oracle. In the past, Personal Oracle limited (via the Listener) the number of remote clients (i.e. clients on other platforms) that can connect. I would assume that this is still the case. I however do not recall that there were a limit imposed on the number of local sessions that could be created - the limiting factor here is afterall the power and resources available by the PC. It's very unlikely that a common PC will be able to support a Personal Edition Oracle instance and 100's of local client sessions at the same time.
If you do mean instance as per the strict Oracle definition - why would you want to create two Oracle instances (each with its own physical database) on a PC? That does not make sense on a large db server platform. It makes even less sense on a small PC platform.
Each Oracle instance has overheads (processing and memory). Each physical Oracle database has overheads (system space, temp space, redo, logs, etc). Why duplicate these overheads?
On a single platform - what can two Oracle instances (less capable because of reduced resources availability) do what a single Oracle instance cannot do faster and better and more effectively? Thus is it not a Good Idea to run multiple instances on a single platform. (exceptions acknowledged)

  • Is it possible to create a dynamic dispatch VI from parent VI as a template

    Hi all,
I'm new to LVOOP and wondering if it's possible to create a dynamic dispatch VI from the parent VI as a template.
    For example:
I've got a Class-method in the parent class. All child-classes use this method except of one child, which needs a little tweak on this VI.
So I need to overload the VI in the child class.
When I choose "New -> New Dynamic Dispatch VI" I get an VI based on a template
(As described by Darren Nattinger here: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Darren-s-Weekly-Nugget-07-07-2010/m-p/1172483/highlight/true#M510414 )
Is it possible to get a copy of the parent VI instead that I can tweak ?
    Thanks you in advance!
    Best regards,
    Balze

An over-ride VI is not that special.
The input and output classe must be "Dynamic".
The icon connectors have to be the same.
The Over-ride VI must have the same name as the parent and be a member of the child class.
So Save-as add to project but not to class.
    Move to child class.
    Rename.
