  • Is it possible to use your cell phone as your internet through your MacBook

I was just wondering if I could get internet through my cell phone onto my MacBook.
Is it possible and if so then how?
    Thanks,
    Sam

I use a Boost Mobile phone for internet access. It's slow, about dial-up speed, but it's very convenient. Not to mention, the bill is unbeatable.
It's 6 bucks a month. I picked up a Boost Mobile phone and a USB cable for about 35USD. Not to mention, there's no obligation to a contract.
The only problem is that the smallest amount of money you can put on your Boost account at one time is 15 dollars. But look at that compared to other wireless plans.
If you're not in need of bandwidth, I'd recommend it.

  • Can you downgrade from smart phone to basic phone?

I added two lines on my account for my parents. They do not however use smart phones. But I got their lines with the iPhone 5 and switched it to my line. They ordered flip phones from ebay, however when the 5 came in they didn't have them available yet to I just put my iPhone 4 on the lines. Now the flip phones are in and I'm getting an error when I go to activate device. Its before I even put in the MEID number, saying can not process at this time. Is there a limit of times you can switch phones within 24 hours? And is it even possible to downgrade from smart phone to basic line?
    Thank you!

Yes you can. if you are on the share everything plan then the cost per phone will go from $40/month (smartphone) to $30/month (feature phone). You will still have the data plan at the cost it is now since that is shared between all phones on the plan.  If you have a grandfathered tier plan you should be able to drop the $30/month data plan for their specific line.
Since they ordered the phones off ebay, you will want to make sure those phones will work on VZW. If they do then switching to the flip phones should be pretty simple. you will likely have to call VZW to get everything set up.

  • Downgrade your baseband 04.11.08 It is possible and how

downgrade your baseband 04.11.08 It is possible and how

He's right, there are places you can ask that, but ya can't askl it here. Just type your question into Google and see what pops up, there actually IS a solutiuon, but it is complicated and requres you to have backed up certain files before you upgraded the IOS.
You may have to bring your phone to a local WiFi store, I had an original iPhone that could nto be activated, I had to bring it to such a place, they fixed me up for 30 bucks and then it was activated. ATT had shut off the activation for the old Edge network, so it had to be done that way.

  • TS4403 is it possible to view your photos from icloud? example, I can view my notes, email & find my phone, but im unable to view photostream. anybody got an answer?

Is it possible to view your photos while on icloud, example: I can view my notes, calendar and even find my phone. I see that there is an option to manualy delyete the photostream pix as well as retrieve them when restoring your idevice. So, why is it that I cant view the pix?

PhotoStream is designed only for shunting photos taken on one device onto all the others. You can't actually view the photos at icloud.com.
The exception to this is any shared Photostream: these can, if you so choose, appear on a web page:

  • Is it possible to downgrade to 3.0?

Like so many other people, I am suffering from 3.1 software. The phone is extremely unresponsive, so much that it becomes unusable as a phone! Calls time out before I even manage to answer them.
Is it possible to downgrade to 3.0 preserving my data? I tried, and managed to get 3.0 installed again, but then iTunes wouldn't let me restore my backup, saying it is from a newer version of the software. Obviously a phone without my data isn't of much use.
I am stuck and becoming desperate -- 3.1 software made my phone unusable.

    Hi,
If by disaster you mean it behaves like molasses you might try a restore as new.
If you have data in any of the apps you will need to back this up and not just syncing to iTunes. The restore as new does not use a back to get things back on. You will erase the phone then start from scratch putting your apps back on. This lets the system get on the phone first. It seem to make a difference. Mine has been quite stable sine i did this and was very sluggish before.
You will have to reenter any wifi passwords and likely your voice mail pin. You can get that from ATT.
Sync any photos to iphoto too. Be prepared for a fairly long session. I have heard it is worth deleting the download of the 3.1 upgrade and then downloading it again. I did not do this and mine is fine. The procedure for that is on here somewhere.
The problem we are having is due to the memory management of the phone apps or the system. The memory gets low and apps crash. There is a great App for clearing memory. Save rebooting the phone a lot. Memory Info is the name of it. I haven't had to use it much though since I did the restore.
    Hope this helps...

  • How to get your contacts to your new phone

These days, most of us live ane die by our mobile phones - our personal and business lives revolve around them; and yet technology moves so fast that our phones become outdated and are replaced so quickly. Luckily, the days when buying a new phone means that you have to laboriously re-enter all of your precious contact numbers are long gone.
There are a number of different ways that you can transfer contacts between your old and your new phone, including:
    1. SIM CARD
The original and simplest way to port your contacts is via the SIM card. This system sells itself on the ease of use and the fact that it guarantees universal compatibility, but this simplicity also brings with it the inflexibility - the SIM card can hold just one name and one number per contact, and a typical limit the number of contacts it 250, so it is rapidly ending its tenure as a medium for the storage and transfer of contact information.
    Advantages: Ultimate cross-device compatibility
    Disadvantages: Limited capacity
    2. BUSINESS CARDS VIA BLUETOOTH
Bluetooth connectivity allows data to be relayed between two phones within a range of about ten metres. All Bluetooth-enabled phones can send and receive contacts as vCard files, which allows you to transfer a complete contact to another phone with ease. Using the "Mark/Unmark" feature of your Nokia device, you can also send a batch of contacts at once - the phone still makes a separate transfer per contact, but provided the two devices are paired and set to automatically accept transmissions from each other, you can set things in motion and put the kettle on whilst the phones do most of the hard work - it's as easy as Options>Send business card>Via Bluetooth. The down side is that the vCards go into the Received Files folder of an S40 phone or the Messaging inbox of a Symbian smartphone, you will need to individually save each contact transferred to your address book, so it still isn't an ideal solution for large numbers of contacts.
Advantages: Quick and easy, wide compatibility, all contact information can be transferred
Disadvantages: Still laborious in the case of large numbers of contacts, bulk sending may not work correctly from a different brand of phone.
    3. DEVICE-TO-DEVICE SYNC
Many Nokia phones have a Synchronisation or Switch feature which allows you to transfer personal data such as contacts between compatible devices. This is an effective method to transfer data, but unfortunately different versions used in different phones (depending on age and OS) mean that even two different Nokia devices might not be compatible for this method.
Advantages: Easy to use and almost entirely automatic
Disadvantages: Not a reliable cross-platform method
    4. SERVER SYNCHRONISATION
A growing feature of the mobile internet is the ability to transfer your phone's personal data with a remote server, which is not necessarily the ideal way to transfer between devices but gives the added functionality that you can recover your data wherever you are in the world as long as you have internet access through your phone, so if you lose your data (or even your entire phone) on a business trip abroad, you don't have to wait to get home to recover it. An example of a server synchronisation service can be found at www.ovi.com
Avantages: Remote storage of data means you can use anywhere
Disadvantages: System still in its infancy for personal consumers
    5. PC SYNCHRONISATION
Using Nokia PC Suite, N-Series PC Sutie or Ovi Suite you can synchronise your PIM (Personal Information Management) data with your PC (Outlook, Outlook Express, Vista Contacts, Lotus Notes etc.), allowing it to be subsequently transferred to another Nokia device. For Mac users, there is Apple's iSync software which does the same thing, though whilst it makes transfer between different brands of phone possible it does not guarantee compatibility with all phones from any manufacturer.
Advantages: Any PC-connectivity-enabled Nokia phone is compatibile (PC only), cross-brand support (Mac only)
Disadvantages: Synchronisation software not always reliable
    6. CONTENT COPIER
Using Nokia Content Copier from any of the three PC Suites mentioned above, you can copy all or a selection of personal data from your phone into a backup file that can be restored to your phone after a repair or update, or transferred to another compatible phone. This gives ultimate protection as almost all of your phone contents can be saved, but the big downside is that this method is no use to you if you are coming to Nokia from another brand. Wise users back up their phones with Content Copier regularly to ensure that nothing is lost if the phone is lost, stolen or broken. Me, I remember to do it now and again
Advantages: All data can be backed up, and most data can be restored to most Nokia phones
Disadvantages: All of the big manufacturers have their own version, but they are not inter-compatible

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

  • Is it possible to sync your iphone to 2 pc's (work/home)and keep outlook calendar?

I had a iphone but returned it, but now I need confirmation that it is possible to have an iphone sync between to PCs (work / home).  I want to know if its possible to have it sync the phone with two computers.  Home has itunes for music and such, work doesn't have itunes on it - but I need to make sure that my calendar syncs between the two computers.
I am concerned that if I sync at home it will upload fine but then if I try to sync at work it will want to delete all my contact on my computer and replace with what's on the iphone?
So basically - is it possible to have your iphone sync with two seperate pc's?  I use outlook calendar and live my life with it - I must be able to use it on the iphone - can you?
Can you change the way names are stored in the contacts, I have businesses and personal contacts - I want to be able to look up a business not have to remember the name of the person who runs it?

You didn't say what contacts application you are syncing your iPhone with, but almost all give you a choice to list contacts by name or by business. That setting on the computer should transfer to the synced iPhone. Works with my Mac.

Nope, you are out of luck as far as downgrading goes. I'd try to reload the device one more time.
    Could you please explain?
Use the Nokia Software updater to reinstall the software. When you go to install it tells you that you have the current latest version, and if you want to reinstall it. It downloads in most cases a fresh copy of the firmware and reinstalls it.
I have no problems with the latest firmware on mine. It might also be worth resetting it to factory defaults as well.
    Shunts...
I will mostly be communicating with a Nokia E72 Zodium Black
Nokia E72-1 with Vr 051.018.207.04 Software

  • When is it possible to exchange your iPhone 4s for an iPhone 5s?

When is it possible to exchange your iPhone 4s for an iPhone 5s? After 3 years, my iPhone 4s is no longer working and I have tried everything, including going to the apple store to get it repaired. It will not sync with the music I have on my laptop: new or deleted, and it also skips through songs on itunes on my iphone. It has greyed out songs and won't play any of them. It also changes randomly from vibrate to ring on and off without me touching the switch on the side. It's like my phone is possessed or something. I have tried everything and have decided to soon buy an iphone 5s. Can I get some sort of discount or exhange because the problem is out of my hands? Also, I have recieved a mophie iphone 4s case for christmas. It is buy the iphone 5s, will I be able to exhange my mophie phone case for an iphone 5s mophie phone case?

Apple will exchange your defective iPhone for one of the same model for their standard out-of-warranty exchange price. They will not upgrade you to an iPhone 5S as part of that program. Apple does accept trade-ins toward purchase of a new iPhone through retail Apple Stores in the US. I've not seen the amount they will allow, so you'll need to talk to your local Apple Store. In a few other countries Apple also works with a company who will give you some return on an existing device; select your country as appropriate on this page:
    http://www.apple.com/recycling/
Similar programs are available in a few other countries, and some dealers may have their own trade-in programs.
None, however, will give you much for a phone that has hardware issues, if they'll give you anything at all.
I have recieved a mophie iphone 4s case for christmas. It is buy the iphone 5s, will I be able to exhange my mophie phone case for an iphone 5s mophie phone case?
That would depend on who you bought the case from and their return policies. If you bought it from Apple, then you have fourteen days from date of purchase to return it. If you purchased from a dealer, you'll have to ask the dealer about a return.
    Regards.

If it is turned on and your lock request is able to be fulfilled, a confirmation email will be sent to your Apple ID email address. There isn't any known way to bypass Activation Lock on your phone so no one will be able to use it. More information on Lost Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2700

  • Is it possible to get your crediti card cloned at ITunes?

I have my credit card cloned this second semester. Since I use it all onver the place, I didn´t think it was due the registration on ITunes. Now, in november, I got my second credit card cloned, shortly after changing my registration info on ITunes.
Is it possible to get your credit card cloned on ITunes?
    i am really worried.

From what I know  the link when you use the itunes store is encrypted and your credit card details are not sent over the line when purchasing, as they are already on the server, only your username and password are sent to confirm your login.
If you updated the credit card details you should have no issue if you did it on the phone, if you did it on a pc, it could be the pc was compromised, but this is pure speculation.
