Is it possible to enter streach monitor mode like a pc?

I know pcs can enable strech moniter mode between two displays. Im not talking about an extended desktop, Im talking about streaching an image between two displays. Does anybody know how to do this? thanks!

U2312HM and second monitor = Entering Power Save Mode

So, my monitor has not been able to turn on for about a week now. It shows that it's getting power, but after 3 seconds I get the message that it is going into power save mode. I am able to press some buttons on the monitor and a message pops up that there is no signal and to try typing or moving the mouse which doesn't work. I've attempted to change the input source which only leads to "No DisplayPort Cable - The display will go into Power Save Mode in 5 minutes.". I have tried a separate monitor which is extremely less powerful and I get the same message that it's entering power save mode. Could this be a fried video card or what's happening here?

Thanks for the reply Chris. I do have both DVI and VGA out ports and I will be testing that today. Not sure if this has anything to do with my issue or not but I might as well mention it. I have 4 2 GB ram sticks which came with my pc. I purchased two new 2 gb ram sticks due to some memory issues I was having. The problem is, the two new ram sticks I had were not the correct size but I attempted to use them anyway. Now prior to inserting these new ram sticks I cleaned my pc using air duster and a light suction vacuum cleaner, not sure if I got all of the dust. Once I found that the ram sticks were not the right size I then reinserted my older ram sticks and this is when the monitor issue occurred. A couple people had mentioned that this sounds like a bad video card, but could inserting wrong ram sticks affect the motherboard and in turn mess with the videocard?
Also, roughly 3 weeks prior to the monitor issue, the lights on the side of my case are generally dark blue (but can not confirm if this is normal as I rarely pay attention to it.) The only reason I bring this up is because the lights began to turn red, then a sortof clear light color progressively throughout the next couple of weeks, eventually not turning on at all. Again, I've never really noticed the lights on my pc to begin with so this could not mean a thing.

"Entering Power Save Mode"

Hi guys. I have an HP desktop and a Dell SR2320L Monitor. It was working fine until a few months back. I was out of town, came back last week and now every time I start my PC it just stays there "Entering Power Save Mode". I tried almost everything researching a solution for the problem but just won't work. Is there a way to check if the cable is the problem or the monitor or anything else? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Ankur,
Monitor may enter in power saving mode when it does not get the enough power for its operations. If monitor is the cause, you may try to re-seat the monitor cable and ensure the connections are secure. You may also try to swap the ends of cable and check if the issue persists. Another step you may try is to use a good known cable and see if the issue persists. If it does, as a last resort you may try to reset monitor to factory defaults. Another possible cause of the same issue might be video drivers of your computer. You might need to uninstall and re-install the video drivers and may check the power options in operating system. You might need to check the HP website for download and installation of video drivers (relevant to the system model).

Anyone know if the following observation is correct ?
From the TrustSec 2.1 "Monitor Mode" guide i get the idea that Open mode, is not really as zero impact in a data gathering part of an ISE deployment is a was expecting. The guide describes using Profiling to authorize Cisco IP phones for the Voice VLAN.
- Does this mean that regular methods like using CDP won't work to for this once i enable dot1x on an access switch port interface ?
- And that i will need to figure out which ports should be set for multi-domain (phone+pc), and which should be set for multi-auth(possibly multiple devices on one port) during the open mode period ?

Yes, a device is still allowed on the network even if it fails all authentication methods (MAB, 802.1x, etc). Basically you use monitor mode to perform discovery and see what would have been blocked had ISE been deployed in production.

Yes, you can use profiling to do this. Keep in mind that you will need advanced licensing for this. Otherwise, you can either use MAB with static MACs imported/entered in the local database or EAP-TLS with phone certificates

CDP will still work, in fact some of the profiling happens thanks to CDP, however, the device will simply not going to be allowed to get on the network and the Voice VLAN unless it passes authentication/authorization.

This really depends on how secure you want your network to be

How to enable a dual monitor mode

I have a MSI FX52000 VTD-128 board which suppose to support a dual monitor mode. It has D-Sub analog, DVI and VIVO connectors.
Would it be possible to connest primary monitor to DVI and secondary to analog output or only Video Out can be used for the secondary monitor?

Have you installed the latest "Forceware" Drivers?...I think MSI's 52.70's are great...How you should go about setting up for two displays is to go into NVIDIA Driver Control Panel>trouble shooting>Click on the "Detect Displays" Button after you connect the other monitor ...Sean REILLY875

Windows 7 Authentication Failures in Monitor Mode on ISE 1.2

Hi Support,
I have a configuration whereby most of my Windows endpoints are not running DOT1x yet. We eventually intend to authenticate them via AD and looking to push out the Windows DOT1x client to all live users soon. Currently users are getting network access due to the fact that all ports have "authentication open" set and the default Authz policy is set to Permit Access (we arent using MAC address endpoint tables to allow MAB etc)
I now have my first test group of users using DOT1x and they match a specific AuthZ policy I have added that checks for their specific AD group on the AD. All is fine.
However I have just added DOT1x to a second test group of users who currently do NOT have any specific matching AuthZ policy (they are on the same AD server but in a diffferent group which I have not defined a policy for yet), and I was expecting they would still join using the default Authz policy. However they do not and on closer observation using "ipconfig" their adapter displays "Media Unauthenticated". I researched this and found that the Windows endpoint can set this condition if you disable the "Fallback to Unauthorized Network" check-box in their dot1x settings. Now I could easily check this box but don't understand why I need to as I surely should be hitting the Default AuthZ policy. However when I debug the switch port I am getting the following:
%DOT1X-5-FAIL: Authentication failed for client (xxxxxxxxxxx) on Interface Gi2/0/26 AuditSessionID 0A540201000064AD8FC27A96
This appears to suggest my AuthC is failing (rather than AuthZ or is the word Authentication a bit vague here?), so here is my question:
1. My AuthC DOT1X policy looks at the Identity Source Sequence that includes the AD server that contains specific groups for BOTH my first test group and my second test group. Users from my first and second test group seem to be hitting this AuthC rule according to ISE.
2. My AuthZ policy contain a specific policy for my first test group ONLY, but the final Default Rule is set to Permit Access. From the ISE persepctive ALL users in my second test group are actually successfully getting this policy. The Authentication Troubleshooting page shows them getting the DOT1X AuthC policy and the Default Rule AuthZ policy. However the message in the switch debug suggests a failure and with my Windows DOT1x client settings as above, the adapter is therefore effecitvely disabled.
3. All this is occuring in Monitor mode, which I thought was harmless provided I dont give additional attributes (VLAN, ACL) to the profiles!

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to skydrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post

You can enter the serial number in the main sequence instead ot the "Pre UUT" but there is no reason to do that.
if you still like to input serial number in your sequence You will need to make sure that you update the variable in the process model which stores the serial number ie. RunState.Caller.Locals.UUT.SerialNumber
This is used to generate the report.
the report can also contain the serial number of the uut if you select "New file for Each UUT" under Configure-Report options and in the "Report File name path"
The format of the name of the report will be
[123].txt
"123" was the serial number which I entered.
If you are not happy about the name of the file you can replace Locals.ReportFilePath to contain the right name using a statement step in the process mode
l. If you using the default process model please make sure that you add the statement step after "Determine Report File Path" step in the Process Model.

Global correlation / reputation filtering in monitoring mode

We use Cisco appliances primarily in monitoring mode. We'd like to use the IPS reputation filtering / global correlation to alert us when we have connections to "bad" IP addresses (e.g. botnet, etc). Is it even possible to use either of these features for this purpose? According the the following document is appears there may not be alerts for packets denied before signature analysis. Surely that can't be???

Just listened to the techtalk on global correlation. about 16 minutes in...."we do not send events just to keep the load quiet". Can someone from Cisco please confirm that this completely naive and poorly engineered facet of the solution still works this way? I'm sorry to sound like an arse, but I am so completely frustrated with the value we get out of these appliances. Apparently, the ASA botnet functionality can do what we want, but not the stand alone IPS appliance....come on Cisco.

Entering in debugging mode

Iw32 is called by a call transaction in a customer program. In the process, a standard function (pm_partner_update)
ends with an abap runtime error SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC.
Instead of the short dump report, the enduser is entering in debugging mode, with the cursor placed on the failed command. Although he cannot do anything because
he has no debugging authorizations, is it possible to prevent the debug screen display?

we need to pass all the three key fields of IHPA table to avoid this duplicate entry error as it gets generated when you try to update duplicate records to master table . In my case i used I_count parameter of ihpa table to increament the counter . In each case if we do not use counters in that case it is bound to give you exception .so make sure you are not updating any duplicate entry .

Webcam not entering low-power mode after resume

Can other W520 owners with a webcam (and potentially other models) confirm whether or not the camera prevents the USB subsystem from entering low power mode?
1) Unplug all USB peripherals, and turn off Bluetooth (this runs on USB as well)
2) Put the system into standby, unplug the AC adapter, and resume the system on battery.
3) Load a Command Prompt and run powercfg -energy
4) Load the generated report and look for the following:
The most noticeable issue caused by this is unnecessarily high power consumption, and as a result, lower battery life.
Turning the camera on and off (using the Fn=F6 preview window) turns this off and returns power consumption to normal.
On the latest available BIOS, chipset, and camera drivers.
Would like someone to confirm whether this is a driver issue or if it's just my system.

I have a very similar spec also. The pair of U2410's (updated revision A01) connected to it won't go into sleep mode (just go black, with backlight still on).
The pair of cheapie BenQ 2420HD's I had connected while I waited for the Dells went into sleep mode fine.
Someone on another forum noted that they had a different model Dell on Mac with the same problem, and he found it only happened when the USB uplink cable was connected to the Mac. I disconnected mine (uplink and down), but no change unfortunately.
Google searching seems to suggest this is almost exclusively only with a Dell/Mac combo (same monitor on PC works fine and other brands on Mac work fine). These U2410 monitors get an absolute bagging on most forums, and I think most of it is deserved. These will both be going back for a refund with severe blue/pink tints making them visually perform worse than the BenQ's that were 1/3 the price. What's the point of spending 2 to 3 times the amount on IPS monitors when they're off colour even right in front of them!
The HP 24" IPS uses the same crap LG panel as these Dells, I can't justify 2 x 30" Apple Cinema displays for AU$5000, and one just won't cut it. No simple answer it seems....

You have feature.1.name="presence" feature.1.enabled="1" included in your <PHONE_CONFIG></PHONE_CONFIG> It is "generic enable" for so called "buddy watch" feature. But then, you need to configure who's your buddy.
It is part of phone's directory, e.g. [MAC address]-directory.xml file, but you have no such file. I assume your directory (so buddy list as well) is empty. The file in question looks like

The bw is acronym for "buddy watch". Phone directory records with bw=1 are your buddies. It's status is monitored by Polycom phone then.

I am a learner, so this might seem very silly question to others.I am trying to build a form application which deals with half a million records. The application hence requires the user to put values in any displayed text items and fetch the record. User doen't know the enter or normal mode.Also he can either search or insert when the screen comes up..So how do I handle this i.e. to insert, you need to be in normal mode and to search, update & delete you need to be in enter mode.But I need to hide all these from the user.Is there any function, can these be done programatically, the switching of modes based on user requirements..

Well, I guess I wasn't clearin my question.Well, when my screen pops up,if the user wants to insert a record, he just types in the textitems and saves it.But suppose,instead of inserting, he wants to do restricted query,he needs to be in enter mode right ?So he needs to click on the enter mode in the menu and then puts some data in any of the text items and executes to fetch the related rcord.Now,I want the user to put some value and click on the search button and fetch his record directly without bothering about enter or normal mode.
So is it possible to do it programmatically.
Also, when an user puts some value in the text item, he may like to search the database using the values or insert it as record.To search, you need to be in enter mode and to insert, you need to be in normal mode. So, how can I switch these modes, programmatically, hiding it from the user.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
