Is it possible to insert animated image in pdf?

Hi All,
I was wondering like in powerpoint one can insert the animated image ......is it possible to do the same in pdf?

An animated GIF image, when converted to PDF, will not animate. You can implement animation effects using JavaScript, but it requires programming and is moderately complicated. You can also include an animation using Flash (RMA annotation), but you'd have to convert the animated GIF to Flash first.

  • How to insert dummy image into PDF

    I am trying to insert signatures into our Custom Purchase Order that I am building in Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro. I can find plenty of documentation on how to do this via an RTF in Word Template Builder, but nothing on inserting the dummy image. Currently, we are using Sigfile field in report with a URL link to the jpeg of the signature, at runtime, only the link shows up on the PDF not the picture of the signature, any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Barbara

    Barbara,
    I think what you are asking for is something similiar I have done for a check printing report where you have a voided image of a signature, then place the real signature at run time.
    So insert the dummy image into your RTF. Have the path to the real image in the XML file, and then in the properties for the image, there is a Web tab. Put the following there:
    url:{CP_SIGNIMAGEPATH}
    Where CP_SIGNIMAGEPATH is the path to the image.
    Let me know if this works or you.

  • How can I insert an Image into PDF document programmatically?

    I am trying to work with a pdf programmatically through FoxPro using objects:
    createObject(”AcroExch.App”)
    createObject(”AcroExch.AvDoc”)
    createObject(”AcroExch.PDDoc”)
    I am able to open acrobat, add / delete pages, fill in some fields with the “AFormAut.App” object. and finally print the pdf.
    I print Hundreds of books for students in our college, each student gets a book specificaly tailered for the student.
    Everything goes programmatically.
    Now I want to insert images into the pdf, also programmatically.
    I cant find a which object to work with?
    I wish there was a way to do it just as I did with the things i mentioned above.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    So where do I goet the plugins or how do I know which plugin would enable me
    to work with images?
    Now I got to another thing that I need, I need to flatten pdf
    programmatically, and don't know how.

  • Is it possible to save an image as PDF without actually converting it ?

    According to the Convert To PDF setting, it seems that no matter what format the source image is, it is always converted (into either lossless heavy format or a lossy lighweight format) when saved as a PDF.
    I want to use GIF because it's the best quality/weight for newspaper type of images, but when saved as PDF the text is always bold and blury. How can I avoid this ?

    No, one needs to convert the image to the PDF format by use of a program that can read the image and then create the data streams used by the PDF.
    I would not use a photo editing program to add text to an image, you might use a page layout program like InDesign. PDF does store text and images in different objects and data streams. This should provide a much better result.

  • Adobe for PC has "Lifecycle" where a user can insert an image in PDF..

    that has been Reader Enabled. How can someone using Acrobat for Mac do the same thing? Everything I've read says only PC users can do this. "Lifecycle" calls it an "Image Stamp"?

    And.... Yo want to know the funny thing. Acrobat was originally created for the Mac Platform First.
    See most PC people are afraid to try cutting edge technologies. So Companies will usually create something (such as Acrobat) on Mac Platform because we (Mac people) are so hungry for software, we'll try anything. If it goes great guns with us they'll let it stay with Mac, then they develop one for PC Platform, naturally because the PC Community is a bigger base, they will put more features, bells and whistles, in the PC version; and leave  the Mac Community behind, because they figure we are happy just to get working software, we will put up with the less bells and whistles. And in some cases. Companies once they get a good  software going on the Mac platform, then get  one for the PC platform, will just abandon the Mac Platform Altogether.
    Corel use to have products for Mac, they don't now. Intuit stopped selling Quickbook Pro for Mac for almost 10 years. At one point before Office 2004 came out for Mac there was some question even if a another Mac version would be available. The MacBU (mac Business Unit), is constantly having to beg for personel and funds to keep office going for Mac (though from recent reports since Gates has gotten  out of the picture, the next version will have adequate personel and Funding. MS quit outright developing IE for the Mac (Billy boy got upset about Apple coming out with Safari, and picked up his marbles and left.) Lotus 1-2-3 had a good database program for the Mac. Wordperfect was a Super Word Processor for the Mac. Many Lawyers still use  it by means of a program called SheepShaver. Its a lot better than word ever was. It does legalese and boilerplating far better than word ever will. And they have a feature called Reveal codes everyone brags about. However the PC version of WordPerfect still exist, on PC.  IF I had the time I could think of other examples.

  • Adobe 3D PDF - inserting 2 images in 1 PDF

    Hi
    I was hoping someone could help.
    I have inserted two 3D images into a PDF each with their own toolbar which allows each image to be rotated,zoomed by its respective toolbar.
    However, the problem is that the second image toolbar doesnt control the second image as it should do, but instead carries on controlling the first image. Hence my question is that is it possible to insert two images into a PDF so that they can be controlled separately?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Thanks SWS for that suggestion but Ive already tried this and unfortunately it did not work. Basically I am importing a VRML file into Strata and then exporting it into a 3D PDF.
    I reckon its an issue to do with the scripting - somehow I need to change the script so that the toolbar works for the image on each different page instead of just working for the image on the first page. Ive included a copy of the toolbar script below.
    TOOLBAR_ALIGNMENT='center' // Valid values are 'center', 'left' or 'right'
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON=['ResetButton','MeasureButton','MoveButton','TurnButton','ZoomOutButton','Z oomInButton'] // Buttons names must not be changed
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON_ACTION=new Array()
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON_ACTION['MeasureButton']=""
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON_ACTION['MoveButton']="this.doc.getAnnots3D(%1)[ 0 ].context3D.setCurrentTool('Pan')"
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON_ACTION['ResetButton']="this.doc.getAnnots3D(%1)[ 0 ].context3D.resetUnconditionally()"
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON_ACTION['TurnButton']="this.doc.getAnnots3D(%1)[ 0 ].context3D.setCurrentTool('Rotate')"
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON_ACTION['ZoomInButton']="this.doc.getAnnots3D(%1)[ 0 ].context3D.zoomIn()"
    TOOLBAR_BUTTON_ACTION['ZoomOutButton']="this.doc.getAnnots3D(%1)[ 0 ].context3D.zoomOut()"

  • TIFF images in PDF documents

    Just looking for a short answer, no technical details needed: Is it possible to store TIFF images in PDF documents without losing information?
    Thank you in advance,
    k.

    >On my own computer it seems I only have options to save it as jpg or zip internally.
    That's correct. The PDF specification supports many more forms of
    compression. Than this.
    > Can't find any options to save it as TIFF internally.
    That's correct. A PDF image is stored as a collection of pixels NOT as
    an embedded graphic format.
    The collection of pixels may be compressed according to one of many
    compression schemes. There is JPEG (internally called DCTDecode) and
    ZIP (internally called FlateDecode). FlateDecode is completely
    lossless, so if what you are concerned about is loss of picture
    quality, this is the one to use.
    A ZIP compressed PDF is typically going to be about the same size as
    the corresponding ZIP compressed TIFF.

  • Is it possible to insert images in Adobe 9 Standard?

    It appears that it is not possible to insert images in Adobe 9 Standard.  There is no TouchUp Object Tool in the Advanced Editing Toolbar in the standard version.  Only a TouchUp Text Tool.  Is this not a basic function being able to add or change an image in a document?  The tutorials all show this as a capability but they are also demonstrating in the Pro version of Acrobat.  Is there a work around or have I been suckered into buying a product that doesn't quite meet my needs?

    The Touch-Up Object tool is not available in Standard.
    Adobe Acrobat is not meant to be a word processing program; it is meant to be a cross-platform method for document exchange. Changes are best made in the source program. While the answer to your question would not have been obvious from this list, it is a good reference for the difference between Acrobat products: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/matrix.html .
    If for some reason it is not possible to edit the source file and create the pdf again, you can insert your image as a form button and then flatten it. A lot more work, but post if you want help with this.
    --For other folks reading this thread, Adobe offers trials of its programs. Consider testing before buying.

    How can i insert animated gif or flash files (.swf) or another type of animated files in Form?

    If you are web deployed you can put an animated gif as the image to an iconic button.

  • Any way to create a PDF with an image field or insert an image?

    Hi. I'm using CS3 with Acrobat 8.1 Pro on a Mac. We're trying to create a one-page PDF that we'll save and users on a PC can open up and add text fields to, as well as an area where they can insert an image file (their logo). The source file is created in Illustrator. Would we have to create a document through Acrobat with these fields available to them in their version of Acrobat or Reader (where they can add their own content), or is there another way? Not sure how to best go about it, if it's at all possible. Thanks.

    I don't think there is any particular requirement for Content although, you will have to play with the size of the fields to accomodate the size of the logo. if you want to send out over a web page then have them download, and email.
    you will have to go to advanced menu and choose Extend Features in Reader. this will allow the item to be downloaded, filled out, saved and emailed.
    NOTE: There is a limitation of no more than 500  returned pdfs.
    Adobe has special service that allows you to do this unlimited however; It cost about the same as a Lincoln Towne Car fully loaded, per year.  If your a Fortune 500 company its peanuts. But for the rest of the world its out of range.
    I guess the reson its so expensive, is that its not used that much. on the other hand, if they would get price down to 250-500 bucks per year, everyone could use it.
    However; this limited rights thing they have come up with is good for Non-profits and small businesses that just need something on a small scale.

  • How can I insert an image into a cell in Numbers for iPad?

    Hi,
    is there any way to insert an image inside a cell using Numbers for iPad? I tried doing it on desktop version and it works, then I shared it through iwork.com and downloaded into my iPad and it's showing fine on the iPad ( although there's no way to edit or change the image inside the cell ) but when I try to do the same task on iPad itself, the image always comes floating even if I place the cursor inside a cell before inserting.
    any idea how to do it or if it's even possible?
    thanks.
    John

    Images can be added to cells only as "image fill." Cell fill is an attribute of the cell, not content of the cell. Only cell content can be retrieved by a formula or by copying the content of the cell.
    Copying the cell will also copy its format, including the image fill, but I've found no way to extract the image from the cell.

    BMP image?
    Or Is it possible to insert any text instead of image?
    But I need to work just like the stamper sample present in sdk. that is when i click on the pdf document any text has to be inserted instead of the image. I should not be to type the text in the pdf, but it should work exactly similiar to the stamper sample, but text has to be inserted instead of an image.
    How can this be done? Is it possible to do?

  • Is it possible to use an image as the "base" of a mapviewer?

    Hi,
    I am trying to use a jpg image as the "base" of a mapviewer. After Insert the image, I create a "georaster theme" for it. Then, I create a "base map" by using the georaster theme created in the previous step. Up till now, both "georaster theme" and "base map" can be preview normally. After that, I create a "title layer" by using the "base map" which I created. However, only a write rectangle shown up when I preview the "title layer".
    So, I wonder it is possible to make a map by using an image as it base? If yes, would you mind telling me how to make it done. And, what value should I input for the following parameter:
    a) When I import an image in mapbuilder:
    1) Top X coordinate , Top Y coordinate
    2) X resolution, Y resolution
    b) When I make a title layer:
    1) Max X , Min X, Max Y, Min Y
    2) Zoom in scale (Once I zoom in the image, the image is gone?? It's very strange)
    Here's the property of that image:
    Dimension = 288 * 175
    Width = 288 pixels
    Height = 175 pixels
    Horizontal resolution = 72 dpi
    Vertical resolution = 72 dpi

    iMacs late 2009 or newer can be used in Target display
    mode.  Any older, no can do.
    The only other way is via network Screen Sharing or
    some otherVPN network like solution.  The issue here
    though is that video performance will be pretty severely
    hampered.

  • Inserting an image into a table using the iPad?

    I am trying to make an evidence table in pages. I need to insert photographs into a table, next to the related statement. Is it possible to insert a photograph into the table on an iPad as I obviously don't have the 'command' button that others are using. If this is possible I want to be able to insert the picture as a predefined size?

    Hi,
    Yes, you can do this by using the Word Edit Cell VI under Report Generation>>Word Specific>>Word Tables in your block diagram functions pallette.  After creating a table, you can edit specific cells and send the file path of the image saved on your computer to that specific cell.  I put together an example that I've attached here as well to help you out with this.
