Note that it is easy (for the user) if you (the developer) deploy the JMF* using webstart. Installing JMF can then be as easy as 'one click' for some types of deployments** for most users***.
* JMF, or an application that uses JMF.
** E.G. If you have a sandboxed app. that suggests desktop shortcuts and menu items, the user will be prompted in dialogs - no longer a 'one click' install.
*** If the user has a suitable minimum version of Java to run the application, otherwise the Java plug-in might prompt them to update their Java.

Help! How to change the video frame size during RTP transmission
Hi there.
In a RTP transmission:
How can I change the size of the frames of the video while I have the processor in the server running?
i.e. while the server is running, i want to change a video from 400x200 to 200x100
ThanksI am trying to implement the same functionality. I've tried to reset the format using the trackControl.setFormat method but this only appears to be supported while the processor is in a configured state. I'm still investigating, but if you happen to know a solution please let me know.
Here is what I'm trying to do... In the middle of a session, I'm trying to change the video format from h263/rtp:352x288 to h263/rtp:176x144 -
I am using linux for JMF RTP transmission.But the RTP data is not being transmitted.Can anyone suggest me the problem behind it.In windows its working fine.Is there any special configuration to be done on linux side for RTP transmission? I am using linux performance pack of JMF in linux machine.I also tried with cross platform pack of JMF.Thanks in advance...
We finally did resolve this issue!!!!
The thing is that Linux just behaves very different from Windows when you create Datagram or MultiCast's.
Windows just assumes that localhost is the local ip address and Linux does not. When you do InetAddress.getLocalHost().getAddress() ; windows often returns the LAN ip address but linux returns localhost.
InetSocketAddress local = new InetSocketAddress(InetAddress.getByAddress(new byte[]{(byte)192,(byte)168,(byte)3,(byte)2}),port);
dataSock.bind(local);
InetAddress destiny = InetAddress.getByAddress(new byte[]{(byte)224,(byte)1,(byte)1,(byte)0});
dataSock2.connect(destiny, 9000);
When you want to receive multicast packets you need to specify the network interface you access the multicast group. If you dont then it would just use InetAddress.getLocalHost().getAddress() as the address to reach the multicast group. In Linux this just does not work.
MulticastSocket socket = new MulticastSocket(4446);
InetAddress group = InetAddress.getByName("230.0.0.1");
InetAddress address = InetAddress.getByName("192.168.3.2");
NetworkInterface interf = NetworkInterface.getByInetAddress(address) ;
SocketAddress socketAddress = new InetSocketAddress(group,4446) ;
socket.joinGroup(socketAddress, interf );
We are still working on making it work with broadcast addresses.

How to send reciever side errors back to sender
Hi Experts,
i am doing PROXY to JDBC syncronous scenario, my requirement is if any errors in reciever side i need to send those erros back to R3 system. errors like if any autorization problem, coneection problem, query time out.
can anyone suggest me how to achieve this.
Kind Regards,
Praveen.Hi Praveen,
In my case, the error exception usually is done by BPM exception branch. You must to use BPM for your process and send SYSTAT or ALEAUD idocs types. I recommend you the use of SYSTAT idoc because is more openness than ALEAUD idoc type.
SAP should to improve this funcionality with new versions of SAP PI because if you want a good exception handling the best option is the use of BPM and the performance of BPM is lower than simple business scenario.
Best regards.

How to change the SID during system copy
This blog /people/johannes.heinrich/blog/2006/07/07/new-features-in-db2-udb-v9--part-3 (i.e. the "new feature of V9" in this group) only
talk about the system copy without changing the SID.
In reality, we often want to change the SID during the system copy. Can we modify the script mentioned in above blog
to make SID change possible?
Thanks!Hi Christy,
if you´re using export/import which is prefered you can change the sid during the parameter setting for export and import. You´ll be asked by the old sid and the new sid. For the tablespace names it is not so important because db2 is using tablespace id not the name for the internal administration.

Thanks,
SatyaBI have actually seen this as a problem with Essbase Data sources...It takes this as Varchar. My time grains are till Month in current system so can't check...
May be this can help you out http://businessintelligence.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/hyperion-bi-l/obiee-essbase-as-source-time-dimension-using-between-operator-3399220
Else , there is unfortunately no workaround.

TonyHi,
What O/S are you installing on?
Is it possible you can try and break down the configuration of planning.
So only have Shared Services / Open Ldap Services running, make sure you can log into shared services console
Run the configurator, choose planning > Configure Database (are you using a seperate database for each product, I am finding it helps with installations)
If you are select the "Perform 1st Time configuration of Database" - Chose Drop and re-create tables"
If successful move on to the configure - Deploy to application Server.
Cheers

Minimum requirements from suppliers' side to participate in Bidding, Auctio
Hi,
I am Raghu, working on SRM5 implementation project. I need to know the minimum requirements from suppliers' side to participate in Catalog Management, Bidding & Live Auction in terms of IT knowledge & compatibility. For example, if a vendor wants to host his products over internet for catalog management scenario, then, apart from internet access does he require anything else?
Also, can anyone let me know ehether two part bidding (Priced & Unpriced as per Govt. Rules) is supported by SRM5? DO we have any add ons to achieve this functionality.
I would be gratefuk if someone can help me in this regard.
Regards
RaghuHi Raghu,
In addition to What Ramky has suggested, please find below few clarifications required by you:
In case of CCM -
One way is the Vendor will give all the details like item, description, Qty, price, UOM, image etc in the CSV format provided by you and you will upload that CSV into the system.
The other way is asking the vednor to make the website where all the product details are maintained as OCI (Open Catalog Interface) compliant.This is considered as external vendor catalog. You can integrate external vendor catalog to your SRM system.
Hope this makes you more clear.
Award points for helpful answers.

WUSB600N ver.2 loses connection during data transmission
Hello.
I have Linksys WUSB600N Wireless-N USB Adapter with Dual-Band ver. 2 with the drivers ver. 3.0.10.0;
The environment is the Win7 32bit, 2Gb RAM and i5 2.44 Mhz processor.
The issue is that during data transmission from the notebook where the WUSB600N is installed the Link Speed between Router (WRT610N ver.2) and the WUSB600N starts to degradate in a few minutes till 13Mbit/sec or less and interrupts at the end. Then after a few seconds the Link is self-repaired up to 216-300Mbit/sec again.
There is not any problem in case of transferring the data from the router to notebook.
I've tried to install drivers from Ralink ver. 3.1.3.0 but Network Mode N does not work with router on 5.4Mhz channels (cannot establish connection at all).
Any ideas?Hi again,
Unfortunately after about 36 hours I had the same issue. It was quite difficult to get it back even after unplugging and plugging back in the router so I connected my dsl directly to my laptop (which worked immediately) for about 8 hours and went back to my router and now it's working again. But I'm quite sure it will happen again. A few more notes...I had my router plugged in directly to my ethernet port when it happened so seems that it's not so much a wireless issue. Also, I had a download going on at the time of disconnect while I was doing a bit of surfing...so I don't know if maxing out bandwidth for a while can be a cause? If there's any other info that can be helpful in diagnosing this just let me know. I consider myself computer savvy (as it's part of my job) although networking is not my field. But setting up a basic home network I think is normally not so difficult but with this I'm stumped... :-(
Thanks again for the help,

RTP Transmission over HTTPS (Internet)
Hello people!
I am currently working on my undergraduate thesis. I need to transmit the feed from a video capture device (i.e. a webcam) and also from an audio capture device towards a client in a secure transmission/session. I am already able to capture the feed from the camera and from the microphone and I also am able to transmit it in a nonsecure transmission/session.
I am stuck with the problem of trasmitting the feed securely. I've tried implementing my own Effect. I override the process method of Effect to encrypt the data. However, there is a problem with the RTP transmission. RTPSession only allows JPEG_RTP and H263_RTP. I already junked this method, and I am now looking for another way, particularly transmitting it using HTTPS (on the internet).
Could somebody please help me how to transmit my RTP session over HTTPS. Some sample codes could really help...
Thanks a lot!!I think you might have the wrong forum. This is a forum about Forte 4GL.

Hi Supports,
I am using sapinst homogeneous system copy in Linux on sybase.
I stuck on the the step 27/49 "create Database".
I checked Firewall is off.
i got points in my sapinst_dev.log that "
1)The log segment in the target database 'SID' is too small (9216 MB) to accommodate the log segment from the dumped database (10240 MB)"
and
2)"Can't change the owner of the master, model, tempdb or sybsystemprocs database"
Do i need to increase "sybase/SID/saplog_1" ? because my "saplog_1" is 49 mb now.
if it is ! how do i increase in this stage.
can any one know about this error???
Thanks,
Aziz.Hi,
When i seen SID.log file so its showing deadlock and checkpoint occurring,
Is any solution ???
Is this because of networks?
we had 2 servers on this same IP. but i stopped one server and one is still running.
please find my SID.log file and revert back if any soltion.

Hi
I have configured reciever channel to jdbc adapter.I have queried database by Select col_nam from table wher value=...
Please can you tell me the location where i will get the output resulset.
Thanking you in advance.Hi Piyush,
To get the response back from JDBC receiver you need to configure your interface with the response structure.
Refer this weblog for configuring JDBC receiver response.
/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/09/16/xi-how-to-on-jdbc-receiver-response
Refer the SAP documention below for response structure format.
"action=SELECT
Statements with this action cause existing table values to be selected. Therefore, the statement corresponds to an SQL SELECT statement.
The <access> block contains the column names to be selected, a <key>element contains the columns whose values must be identical with the specified value to get the new column values. The name of the <key> element is arbitrary. Column values within a <key> element are combined with a logical AND; different <key>elements are combined with a logical OR.
A statement with the action SELECT must have exactly one <access>element. The number of <key> elements with arbitrary names is not restricted.
The corresponding SQL statement for StatementName4in the example above is as follows:
SELECT col1,col2,col3 FROM dbTableName WHERE ((col2=val2old AND col4=val4) OR (col2=val2old2))
If there is no <key> element, or if there is a <key> element but it is empty, then no condition is specified and the entire table is to be selected. This may not be permitted by the configuration of the JDBC adapter for security reasons and will therefore result in an error during message processing and an appropriate error message.
The response document contains the result of the action in XML format as follows:
<row>
<column1>value11</column1>
<column2>value12</column2>
</row>
<row>
<column1>valueN1</column1>
<column2>valueN2</column2>
</row>
hope this helps..
Regards
Anand

Applet without JMF installation at client side
hello,
I am trying developing an applet SIP phone based on Jain Sip Applet Phone( which originally can only deal with audio signal). But I found a big problem that I have to make every client install the JMF, however the clients hope there is no software to be installed locally.
In application, I can run it without JMF installation by copying all the dlls to system32 directory and add some related JMF source code into my own project. Or just simply put the jmf.property to the "lib" directory, which also works.
However, as for the applet, it dosen't that simple for the security thing. Here is the output in cosole:
@mediaManager.detectSupportedCodes- number of capture devices: 2

java.lang.RuntimeException: No permission to capture from applets

java.lang.RuntimeException: No permission to capture from applets
-> Couldn't connect to video capture device
I found that my applet can detect two device which is correct but has "no permission to capture from applets".
In the progress of installation the JMF, and option is "permit recording from an applet". I read the source code, and found it dose the following works:
if I choose "permit recording from an applet", then "allowCapture=1", and in "settingPanel.java" it dose:
"boolean allowCapture = checkAllowCapture.getState();
Registry.set("secure.allowCaptureFromApplets", new Boolean(allowCapture));"
I want to do what the installation progress did to give permition to applet, however, when I do the following:
private static final String PROP_ALLOW_CAPTURE_FROM_APPLETS
= "secure.allowCaptureFromApplets";
Registry.set(PROP_ALLOW_CAPTURE_FROM_APPLETS, new Boolean(true));
Registry.commit();
in my project , it throws exception like this: "Failed to initially commit JMFRegistry. Ignoring err.java.lang.SecurityException: commit: Permission denied"
The code which i thought could give applet the rights is denied.
Till now, I have also read some similar questions in different forums, but there is no good answer.
Can you help me? Is there any possibility to run the applet without installation on the client side ? Is my method right? If not, how should I do?xljiayuan wrote:

BTW - have you investigated JavaFX? It is effectively the replacement for JMF, and possibly has a better end-user experience than trying to install JMF.
However, as for the applet, it dosen't that simple for the security thing. Here is the output in cosole:

Imagine if you visited a web page with a 1px x 1px applet (effectively invisible) that could hear everything you say, and transmit it back to the server. Sun is not about to allow that, unless the end-user has granted the applet extended permissions. -
Does JMF require a particular a new jre version?
Hi to all the JMF funs.
I made a simple transmitting - receiving application with JMF211e.
It works with jre 1.4.2_03 but it seems not working with another Pc that runs jre 1.3.1. No errors, only the receiver program doesn't run completely.
is it possible the is caused by the older jre ?
Thank you (again).
Alessandrothanks again and glad to hear of you again.
Your suggestions are very good but it'all ok with my PC. I ' ve got to analize better the differences making a debug in the two PC.
The processes seem to start correctly but for some reason
