Is Skype the answer? Help!

I desperately want an iPhone. Here in the UK the iPhone is available only on the O2 network, which has no reception in my house. I thought of a possible solution but wondering if it will work and what drawbacks might be - if I were to get the Skype app, could I then forward my iPhone calls to a Skype number on my way home, then use the phone via Skype over my wifi connection while I'm at home? Would I be able to receive SMS messages at home using this set up? And presumably I would pay the cost of every forwarded call?

I am in Reading and I use the Skype app at home (through BT broadband). I've got Skype set up so that it presents my mobile number when I make skype calls.
I can't 100% help you but:
If you have absolutely no signal in your house you won't get SMS messages but my experience (reception is variable in my house) is that SMS messages come through on very poor signal.
My expectation is that you will pay for the phone calls to be forwarded to skype and that they probably won't be included in the call bundle you get from O2 (so even if you get hundreds of minutes you'll pay for the forwarded calls to skype).
On the other hand, I can tell you for sure that the skype app works very well on the iPhone. I regularly use it to call the US and business contacts in Germany. Last week I was in Berlin and used free wi-fi in the hotel to call my wife's hotel in Cork - about 1p per minute instead of 35p to make a call and 18p for my wife's mobile to recieve on roaming charges. I would thoroughly recommend the skype app on the iPhone for overseas calls.

If the mouse clicks something on its own then it looks like you have a hardware problem with the trackpad or possibly the battery that is right underneath the trackpad.
I have read that the battery can swell and that would put pressure on the trackpad.

Easy question but I cannot find the answer, HELP!

This particular FLA files is a flash site that has about ten
different pop-ups for several links (more testimonials, more
services, more information, etc.). I've tried for the past ten days
(about 3 hours per day) to find the exact location of the popups to
go ahead and modify the text in them to suit what I need them to
say but I have not been able to find them. The only pop-up that I
have found is located on the left side of the work space, I tried
toggling to practically every single option and frame, but whatever
I modify changes every other pop-up and I need to work on the
pop-ups individually. Anyone who can put me out of this misery,
would be rewarded with not having to see my question on this forum
again. I can email the FLA file, (about 400 kb) to anyone with a
heart to help or is there a way to upload it here? Thank

wow, this things a mess LOL!!!! well I found that the text is
actually IN the fields on the Stage, or several levels deep in the
many many movieclips and layers used to construct this. NONE of the
'dynamic' textFields have instance names, big no no. there's no way
that you can target them (well you could but ...) to assign text to
them ... so the only thing to do is go to each field and enter your
own text (which defeats the purpose of making them dynamic fields),
you'll find that in most cases, the color of the text in the field
has been set to an 'alpha' value of 0, which is why you cant see
it. although I haven't gone through the whole doc, i see no code
anywhere that is assigning any text( not to mention that you can't
because the field are not named). If you bought this as a template,
there should be documentation that came with it, instructing you on
the methods to assign text to the various categories. if not ...
you got taken, although it looks nice, it will be an incredible
pain to go through and edit it to be what you want it to be, due to
the nature of it's construction, and the fact that there seems to
be absolutely no user interface what-so-ever. I would contact the
company that made the product. And I could be missing something
too, more that possible, lol!!

If you don't see the 'send reset info' button on the page where you can change them then I assume that you don't have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. As you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset. You could try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security

I experienced similar behavior (neither Keychain Access nor Safari would start, Chrome cannot access https sites, etc.). It got fixed by following instructions in this article:

Basically remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity and restart. OSX will create a new one with the right permisions.

I can't remember the answers to ANY of my security questions. And in order to reset them I apparently have to remember the answers to at least two, which doesn't really help me at all considering my dilemma. Anyone know what I should do??

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

this does not help. I have forgotten ALL of the answers to my security questions. I can NOT reset the answers to my security questions without answering two of the three security questions. The other way to reset the answers to these questions is for apple to send me an email on my rescue email addres which I DO NOT HAVE.

i have already try the copy/paste thing with the ID of the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" it didn't change a thing. each time I relaunched Itunes, the ID is the first I have in the MAC.
I have more than 5 000 files of music. I don't want to recreate one by one all my playlits.

You can sync iphone with one and only one computer at a time. If you sync to another, it will erase the current content and replace with content form the new computer. There is no way around this.
Put everything on one computer and sync from there.
BTW, you posted in the Home Share forum. Your question seems to have nothing to do with home share.

A few tears ago my Dad bought the ipod 3rd generation. He made an apple id on there and answered the securtiy questions with no problem. Then he gave the ipod to me. I downloaded music on it. Then last year i got my iphone and i didnt want to make a new apple id because i wanted to keep my music. So then all was fine. Then over the summer the off button on my phone wasnt working, so i went to apple and got my phone replaced. They put the card from my old phone into the new one. Now I have my own apple id. Now, every time I try to buy music or an app, it asks me for my security questions. They're questions that i never answered with my apple id, theyre the same questions my dad answered with his broken apple id, which he doesnt know the answers to either. Every time I call apple its no help and I have a lot money just sitting there in my account. PLEASE!!! IS THERE ANY WAY TO CHANGE THE DUMB SECURIY QUESTIONS?!?!?!?!?!?

Thank you Klaus1.The large font, I copied and pasted from my mail box.I'm visually impaired...not to a huge degree but it helps to use the large font.I believe you are right about the copyright on the imac stuff but if facebook decide otherwise, you have to reply electronically to their challenge.If you can't provide a reference directly from the copyright owner then they remove the video.I believe this is a programmed response and no human is involved which now makes it impossible for me to get my video uploading restored.They detect added soundtrack automatically and then challenge.There are many others in the same boat and facebook will not communicate.They have various discussion sites on which I have left messages including Mark Zuckerbergs own facebook but I don't think anyone from facebook ever reads them.I intend to start a second facebook which I can use purely to get my videos uploaded as a lot of my friends enjoy them BUT don't want fall foul of their programming again.If only iMac would put something on the net to this effect.I think it is so unfair that with modern technology it is impossible to contact these large conglomerates personally and receive an email response.I tried emailing [email protected] but I got a failure notice.If you have any ideas on how to get verification from apple direct, I would be very grateful.Thank You.
