Is slashes allowed in the Oracle user name?

Do we can allow backward and forward slashes as a part of the Oracle user name?
If not, Is there any other way force the usage of slashes?

That's work, but I have to say, very strange, and you must use double quote each time you invoke this user :
SQL> create user toto/titi identified by pwd;

Hi: gurus, I just recently installed the oracle 10g personal edition and trying to log on to the enterprise manger, but can't figure it out the user name and password, can some one help me and tell me what is the default user name and password to logon to the oracle instance. BTW during the installation I choose two passowrds one for the schema and one for the global database orcl. I wonder will I be using one of these passwords. Still I don't have any clue for the "User Name".

system/manager and sys/change_on_install are still valid default passwords when database is manually created. If DBCA was used, passwords will be those defined at creation time inside DBCA.
In case passwords have been forgotten, those can be reset:
From an OS commnad prompt, set ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME and PATH environment variables, just to make sure you are pointing to the right Oracle Home installation, and issue:
OS> sqlplus / as sysdba
SQL> alter user sys identified by yourNewSysPassword;
SQL> alter user system identified by yourNewSystemPassword;
And you're done with it.

I'm not able to create Java Cloud Service (Oracle Java Cloud - Virtual Image Services) for my newly created Oracle Database Cloud Service instance. It fails with
"Incorrect values entered
Could not connect to DbaaS Service using the given user name and password.
Verify that the user name and password are correct and the user name has SYSDBA privileges."
I'm using SYSTEM user and the password I used during Oracle Database Cloud Service instance creation. I've verified them with sqlplus and also by connecting remotely.
Java Cloud Service wizard doesn't allow me to proceed to instance creation.

RAU Add User - Cannot see all users in Oracle User Name

New to Desginer Designer 9i version 9.0.2.80.10
with a new repository installed on a 9.2.0.3.0
database.
While attempting to add an existing user with the
repository admin utility, the repository user

does not display the user I need to add. In fact

I'm having some problems too, kind of the same thing.
I've created a user test, i can connect using sql, toad to the database, but if i try to connect to any designer app, i get this CDR-20002 invalid user.
If i go to RAU, RON i can see my user test and i can grant access to my app. system/container, i've granted all the options from user management but i can't connect.
Am I missing some privilege ?
I did the grant connect, resource to test, and all the privileges mentioned in the documentation.

1) You didn't mention an Oracle version. If you're on 10.2, perhaps this discussion

2) DBA_USERS isn't going to tell you who caused the account to be locked. Just that it is locked and when it was locked.

RDS Gateway + Smart Card Error [ The specified user name does not exist.]

I have the following Windows Server 2008 R2 servers:
addsdc.contoso.com, AD DS Domain Controller for contoso.com
adcsca.contoso.com, AD CS Enterprise CA, CDPs/AIAs published externally.
fileserver.contoso.com, RDS Session Host for Administration enabled
rdsgateway.contoso.com, RDS Gateway enabled
tmgserver.contoso.com, 'Publishing' rdsgateway.contoso.com but with pass-through authentication
And the following Windows 7 PCs:
internalclient.contoso.com
externalclient.fabrikam.com
There's no trust between the domains, the external client is completely separate on the internet but the CA certificate for contoso.com has been installed in the trusted Root CA store. All servers have certificates for secure RDP.
I enrolled for a custom 'Smart Card Authentication' certificate with Client Authentication and Smart Card Logon EKUs from the CA, stored on my new Gemalto smart card using the Microsoft Base Smart Card CSP.
From internalclient.contoso.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
using the smart card just fine with no certificate errors.
From externalclient.fabrikam.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
via rdsgateway.contoso.com using a username and password just fine with no certificate errors.
From externalclient.fabrikam.com, I can RDP to fileserver.contoso.com
via rdsgateway.contoso.com using the smart card to authenticate to the gateway, and a username and password to authenticate to the end server, just fine.
BUT from when using a smart card to authenticate to the end server via the gateway, it fails with:
The specified user name does not exist. Verify the username and try logging in again. If the problem continues, contact your system administrator or technical support.
When I move the client into the internal network and try the connection again (still via the RDS Gateway), it works fine - the only thing I can think of is being outside the network and not being able to contact the AD DS DC for Kerberos is causing the issue
- but I'm pretty sure this is a supported scenario?
The smart card works fine internally, the subject of the certificate is the user's common name (John Smith) and the only SAN is
[email protected] which matches the UPN of the user account as it was auto-enrolled.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I had a similar issue where I am using a smart card through a Remote Desktop Gateway. I had to disable Network Level Authentication (NLA) on the destination Remote Desktop Server. If anyone has another way around this, I'd appreciate hearing it. I'd prefer

The apps are tied to the account from which they were purchased. If the apps were purchased from the previous owners account, then they would have to be updated from that account. you should not have these apps anyway. You need to buy your own.

As per your suggestion , if we disable the trigger , does it workflow goes ahead without any problems ?
By Disabling the trigger , what would be the impact ? I mean does we are going to loose the data that was supposed to be updated the trigger.
