Is the photo import bug fixed?

Hello,
I use iMovie to make animated videos out of still images and was unhappy with how buggy importing large amounts of still images to display at 0:00:03 was in version 6. Has this problem been fixed in the '08 version of iMovie?
Thanks for your help.

Yes. WLS6.0 has a new classloader architecture.
There is no concept of weblogic.class.path in WLS 6.0
The server classes are in the java classpath and are being loaded by standard classloader.

  • Nwrfc 0.0.5 with important bug fix!

I have just pushed version 0.0.5 of the new gem to rubygems.org (you can also access the latest repo at GitHub).
0.0.5 introduces an important bug fix in Table#each. Previously only the first row would continuously be returned. Now you can actually treat a Table like an Enumerable!

  • On my Macbookpro computer when I import a photo to LR, the photos import two stops overexposed. I have not done anything to set up the import process. Freshly installed LR from CC

I just downloaded LR 5.7 on my new MacBookPro computer. I did not set up any presets or anything at all, for that matter. When I import a photo, it changes in exposure automatically. Two stops overexposed!! I never had that issue with my other LR programs on Dell.
    any advice?

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
    1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
    2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
    1. Right click images you want to share.
    2. Select Export version.
    3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
    4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
    See how you go.

  • The photos imported in iPhoto cants be seen in my "picture fold".What is to be done so that all the photos can be seen in the picture folderr

I am not able to see the pictures imported directly to Iphoto library in "Picture Folder"( Picture folder show only the libraray and not photos.  Because of this I am not able to attach photos to my email.

The following is from a post by Terence Devlin on accessing photos for use outside of iPhoto.  It's the definitive treatise on the subject.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation   which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3.Show File:
    a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    b. On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • The photos imported are zooming in and out and are out and in focus-how to resolve this?

    Hi all,
I just started creating a short film which will consist of photos and voice over. After importing the photos, each of them is being zoomed in and out and is once slightly blurry and once in focus- none of the effects are on and I am a bit stuck. Does anyone know how to get rid of this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

The effect you are seeing is known as the Ken Burns effect, which shows panning and zooming on the images. This is iMovie's default setting for still photos. To change this setting, go to iMovie's Menu and select File>Project Properties. In the window that opens, for the item "Initial Photo Placement" choose Fit in Frame (click on the disclosure arrows). The other options are Crop and Ken Burns. You will need to do this for each Project that you start - change the setting before dragging photos to the Project.
For your current project you will also need to change the setting for each image already inserted, given that they have already been included in the project. To do this on an image, there are several options. One way is to click on the image (clip) then press the C key on the keyboard. In the viewer you will see selections for Fit, Crop and Ken Burns - select Fit, then click on Done. Now the photo will remain stationary, with no pan or zoom.
Another method is to click on the small gear icon at the left corner of the clip, then select Cropping, Ken Burns and Rotation from the pop-up menu. Again, the various selections will appear in the Viewer. Also, you can click on the Crop tool in the centre toolbar (directly to the right of the microphone icon).
To change the setting for a number of photos (rather than doing them individually), select them by clicking on the first photo then clicking on the last one while holding down the Shift key - that's assuming they are all grouped together (contiguous). If not grouped, then click on each one while holding down the Command key. Once all clips have been selected (highlighted with a yellow border), you can make your selections as to Fit, Crop and Ken Burns, as described earlier. All highlighted photos will then have their setting changed. Don't forget to click on Done after changing the setting!

  • Where do the photos imported from my xperia to my macbook using bridge for mac software get stored?

Using bridge for mac software, I tried to import photos from my xperia to my macbook.  It was shown that the import was successful. But I cant find the imported pictures in my iPhotos folder or anywhere else.  Why is it so?

Sounds really strange. What if you try to import the photos once again?

  • Photo Import Broken - Fixed with USB Change

Everything worked perfectly with the iPhone, camera, iTunes, and iPhoto. But iPhoto always showed 0 photos. Image Capture also showed 0. Only PhoneView showed photos and let me export them.
Tried every fix I could think of even deleting the DCIM folder using PhoneView.
Finally, I moved the USB cable to a different port. Fixed. Moving it back to the old port and it was broken again. Very odd fix for what seemed like a software problem.

Wow... thank you mayall! My iPhoto wouldn't import photos from my 3GS no matter what I tried. I switched USB ports and it worked right away!

  • I imported events from iphoto into aperture and aperture is showing 2 photos for each picture, one original and one edited although none of the photos from iphoto had been edited. Any idea why this has happened and what I need to do to prevent this.

I imported several events for iPhoto into Aperture3 and in Aperture it shows two photos for each photo imported, one original and one edited although none of the photos imported were edited. Why has this happened and what do I need to do to prevent this in future. I have only recently got Aperture and am trying to learn as I go along using the Focal Press guide. Thanks for any help.

A photo that was rotated in iPhoto will also show up as iPhoto edited.
This is not what I found to be the case in a recent experiment using iPhoto11- I did repeat it to be sure.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15586837#15586837
Quickly, what I found is that only the ones I did actual adjustments on brought over two images.  Images that were simply rotated, had "quick fixes" or "Effects" did not bring in two images.  More importantly, among the ones with adjustments that did bring in two images, the ones with the keyword  "iPhoto Edited" appear to be nothing more than iPhoto's 6MB JPEG Previews.  The master was a 25MB RAW image.
I don't know why some users are experiencing doubles on everything, but I recommend caution in deciding which ones to remove or you may find yourself deleting masters and keeping previews.

  • Where are all the photos after import?

I don't know where to begin. iPhoto has gotten worse and worse over the years, but unfortunately I have tens of thousands of photos in it going back decades.
The tipping point for me was after photo streams and extra syncing was added to iOS 5. After importing to iPhoto I simply don't know where all my photos are anymore.
The import process itself is all funny. Sometimes it seems to just import the photo stream - which doesn't include videos.
Sometimes it will import everything if I press Import again, but the numbers don't match the numbers of photos on my iPhone.
If I check latest import it doesn't match what was just imported.
If I select to delete photos on my iPhone after import it deletes some but not all of them.
I don't have any confidence anymore that the photos imported. And organizing them - forget about it. It's the worse mess I've ever seen. I can't find anything anymore.
    It definitely doesn't "just work."
I would like to clear out the photos on my iPhone 4 because the camera has gotten slow and I read somewhere that having too many photos in the camera roll can slow down the camera operation itself. Is that true? That would be sort of dumb if true because the only way of making albums directly on your iPhone is to leave the original photos in the camera roll.
Is there anything better than iPhone I can use to organize all my photos?
    Thanks,
    doug

Well, I do like that Photostream syncs between my iPhone and iPad. What I don't understand is why the import into iPhone seems to sometimes have just Photostream events and then separately events sorted by date, but without the items that were imported into Photostream events.
Rather than turn off Photostream altogether, what would be nice is if I could just turn it off in iWeb. Is that possible?
I'm sorry my "finding and organizing" complaint sounds vague. It's hard to explain clearly because everything is so convoluted in iPhoto now.
Basically, it used to be that
    (1) I could import and everything would be broken up into events by date;
    (2) I could delete from my iPhone after import and everything would be deleted.
But (1) is not happening reliably. And neither is (2).
I just want to be able to organize my photos and find them. Even finding them in the current version of iPhoto got harder than it was in the previous version of iPhoto. It's just become a really confusing mess of a piece of software to use.
Right now the immediate problem, to attempt to be clearer, is that my imported photos and movies are not broken down by date-delimited events. The problem seems to be related to Photostream imports which confuse the normal event grouping process.
    Thanks,

  • CS6 update (bug fix)

I downloaded the latest AICS6 bug fix, just released. Not sure what it fixed, but the same old bug is there that I've been complaining about for over a year. Still can't drag global colors between sliders in gradient. The more things change the more they stay the same. Adobe has proven they do not consider this important. I'll just keep beating this dead horse.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=LxOkkrMZzFc

Same here... my bug has been reported by several people that I know (aliasing option when exporting to Photoshop does not function).
Two updates later and the bug is still not fixed.
Adobe is too big. I am searching for other options.

  • How to ask Adobe team for a bug-fix/feature?

How can I suggest an important bug-fix/feature be put in
    Fireworks?
I'd like to request that Fireworks be made to use the monitor
profile in Windows to adjust colors to match sRGB. With a properly
profiled monitor I see corrected colors in Photoshop and
Illustrator but Fireworks does not appear to use the monitor
    profile to display colors correctly.
Anyone know how to get this request to the right person? It
seems so obvious that a professional designer would need this -
    correct colors displayed.

  • Feature/Bug Fix list for 10.2.0.4

I know 10.2.0.4 is expected in July. I'm currently running 10.2.0.3 and interested in it because it has a fix for Bug 5082178 - "Bind peeking may occur when it should not." I'm interested in knowing what other improvements it contains.
Can anyone point me to a list of features and bugs planned for the 10.2.0.4 release?
    Thanks,

The README/ Metalink note for the patchset should include the list of all the bugs that are fixed. I don't believe Oracle publishes the set of bug fixes that will actually be part of the patchset until much closer to the release date since bugs fixes get added and removed during the final testing process.

  • Dates not coming with photos imported from shared libraries

My partner and i both have macs, we both use iphoto. Usually we use the shared photo library features to exchange photos so that we both have all the photos we want.
The problem is that the dates don't follow. I'd actually like to see all the metadata imported (faces etc) but i'll live without that but the dates is a real problem.
I'm pretty sure they used to come with the photos imported from shared libraries, not sure why they stopped... Ideas?

How are you sharing the Libraries? How are you reading the dates?
