See the section on Substitution Strings here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/appdev.310/e10499/index.htm#S - this details the available global variables (eg, APP_USER).
You can define your own substitution strings - these are set on the Shared Components, Definition page - so you could put your url in there. There are other methods as well, such as Application Items or a SQL table (which may be better if you need to get the url value outside of an application)

Is there somewhere I can access Elements 9 Editor from Mac App Store?

I need a copy of Elements 9 Editor from the Mac App Store to do some product testing. I know it is discontinued old version however it must be possible to access it somewhere/somehow? I am happy to purchase if I can find it!!

I am not aware of anywhere that you can still purchase Elements 9. It's too old.
You can download a trial version from

However you'll only be able to use it for 30 days since you do not have a serial number and there's no way of buying one that I know of.

Is there a list of rights that /etc/authorization can contain?

I'm attempting to grant some laptop users more control over basic features of the system (energy saver, setting the clock, etc.).
I had been granting them the system.preferences right, as that's the only relevant one contained within the default /etc/authorization file, however recently I spotted this kb article which instructs the reader to introduce a NEW right into the file, namely system.preferences.dateandtime.changetimezone

I would STRONGLY prefer to grant access only to those rights the users need, and NOT grant rights to preference panels which they shouldn't be monkeying with (FileVault).
I have tried to find a list of the rights which can be granted in /etc/authorization but I can not find any.

Sorry, but I still don't understand what "account" you're referring to or what you're trying to recover. If you mean the iTunes Store, your husband should be able to just sign in using his normal user ID and password for the Store. If you mean the content purchased from the iTunes Store, with the exception of movies and audiobooks he should be able to just download it again:

If that's still not what you mean, you'll need to clarify further, or have your husband post and explain what the problem is.

Can anyone help with the new App Store app? It keeps telling me that there is an unknown error even though I can access my account information, thanks.

Any idea why upgrading to 5 should cause problems with App Store app. Can I delete it and download it again. How might I do this.

I had an unknown error problem with the Mac App Store, and this is how I fixed:
(1) Inside Mac App Store select 'Debug' menu from top menu bar
(2) Select "Show download folder ...' from drop down menu
(3) It will then take you to the folder in Finder
(4) Press Cmd + I while on highlighted folder to Get Info (or choose 'Get Info' from right-click menu)
(5) Under sharing and permissions click on the padlock to enter admin password and make changes
(6) Now press the plus "+" sign and from the dialogue box add the Administrators (admin) group
(7) When returned to the Get Info box, under sharing and permissions select 'Read and Write' as the option next to the admin group
(8) Close the Mac App Store app, then re-open it. Now try downloading apps. It worked for me.
(note: I'm finding I have to lock and unlock a couple of times with Lion before it lets me change some permissions, so if unresponsive first time try locking again then unlocking)

Why I am asking this question is my Nokia 6600 fold went faulty (see note below about this) and has been replaced by O2 with a Nokia 6700 slide. Now I don't like slide phones so I bought a 7020 fold on eBay.
What I am looking for is an adapter for these phones (each have 2.5 mm AV connector) that will allow me to connect my noise cancelling headphone's 3.5 mm jack to (I was able to do this on the adapter that came with my 6600 fold phone).
I googled and found that one option may be the Nokia AD-44 but I am not sure it will work with either the Nokia 6700 slide or 7020 fold.
So my question, is there a list somewhere of Nokia phones that the AD-44 adapter will work with?
Note: the faulty Nokia 6600 fold phone was a replacement for the original Nokia 6600 fold phone and both have had the well documented 'm, n, o' problem when sending a message that locked the phone and all that could be done was to power off!

I can't promise this is ALL th ehandsets though, since the list is quite old. Also I am almost certain that this adaptor converts Nokia 2.5mm to Nokia 3.5mm, Nokia connectors are different to a standard headphone as there is an additional connection for voice.
If using non -Nokia headphones you may need a further adaptor.

How to debug global vars ??

I have a problem with the tcode iw32. sometimes the dates are not updated by the system if the main date is changed in a operation.
this happens with 1 out of 10.000 orders but the impact on the process is very frustrating since it's hardly noticed in time
now I have a serviceorder where the corresponding date FSAVD is not changed after changing NTANF.
I thought I had debugged to a point that I thought the function was were the dates were changed unfornatunatly I noticed that somewhere in the programm the global table AFVG_BT is filled. but I can't find where this table is updated in the programm SAPLCOIH ???
anybody knows how to find the source of the changes ??

but it's not an update on a database table but on a global var. in st05 the runtime analysys you only see the database acces so I can't find how and when AFVG_BT is updated ?
also under se30 I can find a function which I already found before only then the global var is already updated by the system . I want to know when this global var is updated and what rules have been passed before this update took place

All the variables are essentially global to the process. Creating a new variable of type xfaForm will do what you ask. If you add an Assign Task, there is a properties section for Form Data Mappings. If you set the input and output to the xfaFrom variable, then any changes made are applied to that variable. You can modify values with a Set Value step using xpath. It is best when you create the form, that you associate a schema with it. Having a schema associated with it with allow you to expand down to any element in the form/variable in the XPath Builder.

Global vars in as3

I'm sure this is easy, but I can't seem to find out how to do this. I need to create a global var in AS3 so that I can create the var on the main timeline and change it within another movie clip. Thanks for the help in advance.

If you design your program correctly there is rarely a need for global variables. That said, the easiest thing is to just make the variable a public member of the document class. Then any objects in the program can access this variable using "parent.myVar", etc. I generally like to pass the main DisplayObject in as a parameter of any instantiated class. That way I don't have to use "parent.parent" or any confusing syntax. You could also use "this.root" but I try to avoid that at all costs.

Transactions used in the BPM are-
SXMB_MONI_BPE- to monitor the process
SWF_XI_SWPR - Restart Workflow after error
Go to Tcode - SE93 in the XI system and give SWF* in the field and press F4. You can see list of Transaction codes related to BPM.

I have trouble reading the titles under the movie jackets. Is there a list somewhere?

The only real workaround is using TV Shows.
You basically use Get Info in iTunes fro a film
Under the video tab, set to TV Show, and name the Show the Genre.
So for example:
You could tag Calamity Jane, Moulin Rouge, Sound of Music as belonging to the Show 'Musicals'.
Alien, Aliens, 2001, Blader Runner, Star Wars would go under Show 'Sci-Fi'.
Ben Hur, Gladiator, Spartacus under 'Historical Epics'
Shrek, Home Alone etc under 'Kids films'
and so forth.
Trouble is you can't have sub-folders, but even if you only had 10-20 Show genres, it would cut down scrolling dramatically.

Is there a list of drum sounds in the software drum kits and what notes they equal? For instance "middle c = closed high hat." I was disappointed that the Rhythm Section Jam Pack didn't come with one.

I suppose there is. Jon Chappell (extremely clever guy that he is) has created a FCP removing app, so there must be a list somewhere for it to know what to remove.

@chris_l -- yeah I was worried that might be the case, still I'm not sure if that explains why it keeps failing the burn process part way through?
I've tried this and that in Linux but without much luck. I'm still quite a noob with a lot of Linux things and this is the first time I'm trying anything to do with optical disks/drives etc. so I'm learning as I go...
The disk that failed in Windows but was 'readable' in Linux did just pass a run through ddrescue -- i.e. it created an output file okay and did not report any errors in the process.
However when I mounted the resulting image and tried to copy the files across the first folder reported an "input/ouput error" (just using gui copy+paste in Thunar file manager)
...the other folders did copy okay though!
It seems as though it's the lead-in / lead-out and disc finalizing process that are the main fail points with the burn operation. I don't know if InfraRecorder is any good or likely to be the problem? Anyway the drive cam with Nero (inc. Linux version) so might give either or both of these a go too, if they don't work either then at least I wont be short of something to rest a mug o' tea on
@ chris_l (again) -- the Plextor drives do have a "Vari-Rec" feature which allows a user to 'tweak' the laser power / output level so I might try this too.
@alphaniner -- thanks I've not seen this package before, I'm guessing it's a bit like cdparanoia but for dvds?!
