Is there a mouse roll event?

Hi all,
I want to roll a Multicolumn listbox with the mouse roller. The best would be an event case, because I use an event structure.
I can´t solve it with the mouse related events, so is there any possibility to make it?

Wait, in labview 8.2 a mouse roll will scroll a multicolumn listbox automatically already.  There is no event generated, but the listbox scrolls fine.
Isn't that what I just said?    This behavior was added in LabVIEW 8.0.

  • Mouse over event listener? in Flash CS4 (AS3)

    Hi,
    I was wondering if there is such a thing as a mouse over listener.
    So that it would execute code when the mouse rolls over(and maybe also execute code when the mouse moves away again)
    Thank you for any help.

    yes, there are mouseover and rollover events, as well as, their "out" events:
    MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER
    MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER

  • Mouse wheel events are being caught by Photoshop document

    I'm using CSXSWindowedApplication.
    If you create any document in Photoshop, then zoom into it, so it takes more space than visible screen area and then open a CS Extension panel - the mouse wheel event is being caught by Photoshop and when you're rolling it, Photoshop moves document up and down, instead. mouseWheel events don't reach neither WindowedApplication nor any control inside of it.
    This only happens in Photoshop.
    Are there any workarounds?
    Thank you!

    Interesting. I've' not played with mouse wheel events. I'll have a look at it.

  • How can I (neatly) control mouse click events in a multi-dimensional array?

    Hello everyone!
         I have a question regarding the use of mouse clicks events in a multi-dimensional array (or a "2D" array as we refer to them in Java and C++).
    Background
         I have an array of objects each with a corresponding mouse click event. Each object is stored at a location ranging from [0][0] to [5][8] (hence a 9 x 6 grid) and has the specific column and row number associated with it as well (i.e. tile [2][4] has a row number of 2 and a column number of 4, even though it is on the third row, fifth column). Upon each mouse click, the tile that is selected is stored in a temporary array. The array is cleared if a tile is clicked that does not share a column or row value equal to, minus or plus 1 with the currently targeted tile (i.e. clicking tile [1][1] will clear the array if there aren't any tiles stored that have the row/column number
    [0][0], [0][1], [0][2],
    [1][0], [1][1], [1][2],
    [2][0], [2][1], [2][2]
    or any contiguous column/row with another tile stored in the array, meaning that the newly clicked tile only needs to be sharing a border with one of the tiles in the temp array but not necessarily with the last tile stored).
    Question
         What is a clean, tidy way of programming this in AS3? Here are a couple portions of my code (although the mouse click event isn't finished/working correctly):
      public function tileClick(e:MouseEvent):void
       var tile:Object = e.currentTarget;
       tileSelect.push(uint(tile.currentFrameLabel));
       selectArr.push(tile);
       if (tile.select.visible == false)
        tile.select.visible = true;
       else
        tile.select.visible = false;
       for (var i:uint = 0; i < selectArr.length; i++)
        if ((tile.rowN == selectArr[i].rowN - 1) ||
         (tile.rowN == selectArr[i].rowN) ||
         (tile.rowN == selectArr[i].rowN + 1))
         if ((tile.colN == selectArr[i].colN - 1) ||
         (tile.colN == selectArr[i].colN) ||
         (tile.colN == selectArr[i].colN + 1))
          trace("jackpot!" + i);
        else
         for (var ii:uint = 0; ii < 1; ii++)
          for (var iii:uint = 0; iii < selectArr.length; iii++)
           selectArr[iii].select.visible = false;
          selectArr = [];
          trace("Err!");

    Andrei1,
         So are you saying that if I, rather than assigning a uint to the column and row number for each tile, just assigned a string to each one in the form "#_#" then I could actually just assign the "adjacent" array directly to it instead of using a generic object to hold those values? In this case, my click event would simply check the indexes, one at a time, of all tiles currently stored in my "selectArr" array against the column/row string in the currently selected tile. Am I correct so far? If I am then let's say that "selectArr" is currently holding five tile coordinates (the user has clicked on five adjacent tiles thus far) and a sixth one is being evaluated now:
    Current "selectArr" values:
           1_0
           1_1, 2_1, 3_1
                  2_2
    New tile clicked:
           1_0
           1_1, 2_1, 3_1
                  2_2
                  2_3
    Coordinate search:
           1_-1
    0_0, 1_0, 2_0, 3_0
    0_1, 1_1, 2_1, 3_1, 4_1
           1_2, 2_2, 3_2
                  2_3
         Essentially what is happening here is that the new tile is checking all four coordinates/indexes belonging to each of the five tiles stored in the "selectArr" array as it tries to find a match for one of its own (which it does for the tile at coordinate 2_2). Thus the new tile at coordinate 2_3 would be marked as valid and added to the "selectArr" array as we wait for the next tile to be clicked and validated. Is this correct?

  • Different 'mouse enter' event / 'set busy' vi behaviour in LV8?

    In my program, I used the mouse curcor 'set busy' vi to lock the front panel during a measurement.  However, I did want the 'cancel measurement' button to be available.   I solved that by adding a 'mouse enter' and 'mouse leave' event for that button, that would enable the mouse when it was over the button.  (And disable when it left again)
    Worked fine in LV7, but it seems that in Labview 8, this little trick doesn't work anymore...
    Apparantly, now the 'mouse enter' event only fires when the cursor isn't set to 'busy'. How do I perform something similar to my old trick in Labview 8?

    I too had a similar issue when upgrading my application source code from LabVIEW 7.1 to 8.0.  There are a couple of things you could try.
    1) Keep calling the "set cursor busy" vi, but don't disable mouse clicks (a boolean input to the set busy VI). Now add a new event to your event structure to monitor the panel for any "mouse down?" events.  Whenever this event occurs, the user is trying to click somewhere, so wire a TRUE to the "Disabled?" input of the event.  Now to keep your cancel button from being filtered out, add some code to determine if the x,y coordinates of the mouse down event are over your cancel button, if so then don't filter this event.
    2) Keep calling the "set cursor busy" vi, but again don't disable the mouse clicks.  Now whenever you want to disable all user events on your front panel controls, open a reference to each front panel control and set it to disabled (all except the cancel button of course).  This sounds difficult, but it is actually really easy.  There is a VI property you can read to get references to each FP control.
    I personally used the 2nd option in my code to do something similar.  I've attached the VI you can use to disable all you FP controls (with exceptions), and also an example of how I used it.  It's a very small VI.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is the recommended way to handle mouse click events for custom nodes that subclass Panes?

    Hi,
    I have created a custom node that is a StackPane containing a Label on top of a Polygon.
    import javafx.scene.control.Label;
    import javafx.scene.layout.StackPane;
    import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Polygon;
    public class CustomHexagon extends StackPane {
        private Polygon hexagon;
        private Label overlayText;
        public CustomHexagon( String text, double... points ) {
            this.hexagon = new Polygon( points );
            this.overlayText = new Label( text );
            overlayText.setStyle( "-fx-font-weight: bold;" );
            hexagon.setStroke( Color.GREEN );
            hexagon.setStrokeWidth( 5.0 );
            hexagon.setFill( Color.WHITE );
            this.getChildren().addAll( hexagon, overlayText );
    // Lays out the node where it should be according to the points provided for the Polygon.
            this.setLayoutX( points[0] - getLayoutBounds().getMinX() );
            this.setLayoutY( points[1] - getLayoutBounds().getMinY() );
    // Show the border of the StackPane.
            this.setStyle( "-fx-border-color: black; -fx-border-width: 1; -fx-border-style: dashed;");
        public String getOverlayText() {
            return overlayText.getText();
    I want to display a tesselation of these custom hexagons. Because a CustomHexagon is a StackPane, not a Polygon, MouseClick events can be picked up when the mouse is clicked outside of the stroke of the hexagon but still within the StackPane (which takes up a rectangle larger than the hexagon). The following program demonstrates this.

    After running this program, when one clicks within the intersection of two StackPanes (borders shown by dashed lines), the target of the mouse click event will be the StackPane on top as determined by the order in which they were added to their parent.
    This is a problem because there is only a small "T" shaped area within each hexagon that when clicked will target that hexagon with an event, rather than adjacent nodes.
    I would appreciate any reccomendations to solve this problem.
    Thanks,

    Hello, this is an evergreen. Just call setPickOnBounds(false) on the CustomHexagon.
    An issue tracking this problem is open here: https://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-17024

  • XY graph "mouse move" event stops generating when click on cursor

    Hello All
    When the mouse is moving freelly inside the XY graph control, the "mouse movement" event is fired.
    The same happens when muse clicks anywhere in the graph with the exception of cursors.
    hen mouse clicks on cursors the "mouse move" event is NOT generated even though the mouse is phisically moved.
    Is there any explanation to this.
    I enclose the example.
    regards
    Pawel

    Just today I had the same problem -> my solution:
    set event timeOut to some value(I have it at 1ms) then
    add to globalVariables some BOOL variable that will signal if mouse is down or up (set the flag in appropriate event),
    then add a case in the timeOut event which will read this
    global variable(flag) -> if it's TRUE then change the needed parameter.
    So even if the mouse move event isn't fired the main timeout event is.
    Not a perfect solution, but better than nothing.
    Peace

  • Mouse over event for every word inside a text?

    I want to do a separate mouse over event for every word inside a text.
    or at least get the string below the mouse cursor.
    any hint?
    henry

    There are no events for it but you can use TextField.getCharIndexAtPoint() to determine the character where the mouse is over, and from there you can work out the word where the mouse is over.

  • Mouse Over Event handling - Webdynpro

    Hi,
    We are working on a sample Webdynpro application. We want to show a pop up window on Mouse over of a control. Is this possible in WebDynpro? Do we have a handle for the mouse over event!?
    Kindly help.
    Best Regards,
    Anusha

    hi anusha,
    If it is simply a tooltip that you would like to be displayed then there is a tooltip attribute that can be set when using the HTMLb controls, or the method setTooltip("my tooltip"); when using the APIs. If you need more of a mouse over event, then I would personally use standard HTML instead. You can use the same css classes that are used when creating HTMLb components so that the button would look the same, but it would be more under your own control
    some code snippets are there in this link if you are using bsp.
    Clicking a htmlb:button via Java Script

    Hi Mathias,
    What i understood is that you want to triger a server side event (simulate onClick event of button)from a client side event (javascript confirm popup), based on the choice of user..
    You can also try this one...
    Check = confirm("Do you really want to proceed?");
    if (Check == true)
    document.getElementById('do_proceed').click();
    else
    document.getElementById('do_cancel').click();

  • JWindow blocking mouse wheel event?

    I have created a custom JPanel that acts as a container for another custom component that needs to receive mouse wheel events. When I place the custom JPanel in a JWindow the mouse wheel events do not get invoked, all though other mouse events work just fine. If I place the JPanel in a JFrame the mouse wheel events are invoked just fine (along with other mouse events).
    To keep things simple the JPanel handles the mouse listeners. Any idea why it would work when in a JFrame but not a JWindow?

    The below sample code exhibits the behavior I am talking about on my system (1.6.0_16 on XP). Does it work for you? Is there something I am missing?
    import java.awt.event.MouseEvent;
    import java.awt.event.MouseListener;
    import java.awt.event.MouseWheelEvent;
    import java.awt.event.MouseWheelListener;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JWindow;
    public class TestWindow extends JWindow implements
       MouseWheelListener,MouseListener {
         public TestWindow() {
              setSize(200,200);
              addMouseWheelListener(this);
              addMouseListener(this);
      public static void main(String args[]) {
           JFrame  frame = new JFrame();
           frame.setSize(300,300);
           frame.setVisible(true);
           TestWindow win = new TestWindow();
           win.setVisible(true);
    public void mouseWheelMoved(MouseWheelEvent e) {
         System.out.println("Mouse Wheel Moved!");
    public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent arg0) {
         System.out.println("Mouse Clicked!");
    public void mouseEntered(MouseEvent arg0) {
         System.out.println("Mouse Entered!");
    public void mouseExited(MouseEvent arg0) {
         System.out.println("Mouse Exited!");
    public void mousePressed(MouseEvent arg0) {
         System.out.println("Mouse Pressed!");
    public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent arg0) {
         System.out.println("Mouse Release!");

  • PDA Mouse Down Event on Picture Control

    While using the Mouse Down Event on the Picture Control for LabVIEW 7.1 PocketPC PDA, I want to get the xy coordinates on where the user tapped on the pict control. Any ideas or workarounds?
    Robert

    Hello Robert
    What do you mean by outputting individual horizontal and vertical components?
    In the LabVIEW PDA module (and this applies to PocketPC and PalmOS), clusters will not show up in the PDAs screen. You can use clusters to group controls/indicators but when there is need of sending a new value/showing the value in the screen, the bundle and unbundled functions have to be used, so that you can have individual controls/indicators to pass a new value/see the value, respectively.
    So, from the Coords terminal in a Mouse Down/Up event, you need to unbundle the cluster and create individual indicators for each, the horizontal and vertical position.
    I am attaching an example to show you what I mean. For PalmOS, the same applies.

  • Mouse down event

    Is there anyway I can keep the control properties as shown in the image attached if I add another event to the same event structure case?
    I currently have an event structure case configured to execute on a mousedown event on a multi column listbox and would like to add a dynamic event to this case also yet keeping hold on the properties show in the image attached..

    Is it not just a case (pun not intended) of right-clicking the event structure and selecting Show Dynamic Event Terminals?
    I understand how to create, register and generate dynamic events but when I add the dynamic event to the event structure it changes (naturally enough) the "CtlRef, Coords,Button" properties to other ones like "time, type, source" etc...

  • Mouse Drag in JDialog produces Mouse Enter & Mouse Exit events in JFrame.

    Hi, all.
    Do I have a misconception here? When I drag the mouse in a modal JDialog, mouseEntered and mouseExited events are being delivered to JComponents in the parent JFrame that currently happens to be beneath that JDialog. I would not have expected any events to be delivered to any component not in the modal JDialog while that JDialog is displayed.
    I submitted this as a bug many months ago, and have heard nothing back from Sun, nor can I find anything similar to this in BugTraq.
    Here is sample code:
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    * This class demonstrates what I believe are TWO bugs in Mouse Event handling in Swing
    * 1.1.3_1, 1.1.3_2, 1.1.3_3, and 1.4.0.
    * 1) When a MODAL JDialog is being displayed, and the cursor is DRAGGED from the JDialog
    *    into and across the parent JFrame, Mouse Enter and Mouse Exit events are given to
    *    the parent JFrame and/or it's child components.  It is my belief that NO such events
    *    should be delivered, that modal dialogs should prevent ANY user interaction with any
    *    component NOT in the JDialog.  Am I crazy?
    *    You can reproduce this simply by running the main() method, then dragging the cursor
    *    from the JDialog into and across the JFrame.
    * 2) When a MODAL JDialog is being displayed, and the cursor is DRAGGED across the JDialog,
    *    Mouse Enter and Mouse Exit events are given to the parent JFrame and/or it's child
    *    components.  This is in addition to the problem described above.
    *    You can reproduce this by dismissing the initial JDialog displayed when the main()
    *    method starts up, clicking on the "Perform Action" button in the JFrame, then dragging
    *    the cursor around the displayed JDialog.
    * The Mouse Enter and Mouse Exit events are reported via System.err.

    I guess we can think of this as one problem. When mouse dragged, JFrame also (Parent) receives events. If i understood correctly, what happens here is, Modal dialog creates its own event pump and Frame will be having its own. See the source code of Dialog's show() method. It uses an interface called Conditional to determine whether to block the events or yield it to parent pump.
    Here is the Conditional code and show method code from java.awt.dialog for reference
    package java.awt;
    * Conditional is used by the EventDispatchThread's message pumps to
    * determine if a given pump should continue to run, or should instead exit
    * and yield control to the parent pump.

        boolean evaluate();
    /////show method

            if (!isModal()) {
                conditionalShow();
            } else {
                // Set this variable before calling conditionalShow(). That
                // way, if the Dialog is hidden right after being shown, we
                // won't mistakenly block this thread.
                keepBlocking = true;
                if (conditionalShow()) {
                    // We have two mechanisms for blocking: 1. If we're on the
                    // EventDispatchThread, start a new event pump. 2. If we're
