Is there a (supported) way of migrating regular ERP IDES system to HANA for use of Simple Finance?

We have installed a SAP ERP IDES system but we'd like to try out Simple Finance. We could do a fresh install of ERP but we like the demo data included in IDES system. Is there a simple SAP supported way of migrating our system (or data to be precise)?

No.  In down sampling with iTunes a new file is created and added to the library.  Most of the old data are preserved but some such as date added are created when the track is added.
Using a third party tool may achieve what you want because the new file could overwrite the old one.  I recall using a third party tool to edit a mp3 and overwrite the old file.  iTunes was tricked into thinking the replacement was still the original file, but of course the edits were in place.  I can't make a specific application recommendation for bulk conversion where it will overwrite the old file.
I will regard this as a general iTunes question but in general if you are using beta software versions you should not be posting in the main iTunes forum.

  • What's the best way to save an 8.5 x 11 image for use as a page background in a PDF?

What's the best way to save an 8.5 x 11 image for use as a page background in a PDF? My goal is to have a relatively small final .pdf file size that includes numerous pages with full 8.5 x 11 images as backgrounds in the document. If I save at 8.5 x 11 and 72dpi (example), the image is not 8.5 x 11, and the quality is not good enough. I need help with size, dpi, and file format to save as before I place it in InDesign and then save as a .pdf.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Do exactly what I said then.  Create the InDesign document of the required dimension, and chose whether it will be high quality print, or Interactive PDF.  It really doesn't mater what format you bring the image into that document.  It can be JPG, PNG, but I usually use native Photoshop PSD.  The image does have to be of high enough resolution, but it can be many times bigger than iis required for the final export.  (InDesign does not import the image, but rather references it on your hard drive.)
When you have placed your text and finished your page, then export it to PDF, but go through the tabs chosing suitable settings.  If the image needs to be downsized, InDesign will do that at this stage while building the PDF.
If you can tell us how this presentation will be made (Projector, overhead projector, printed page etc. or just emailed to the end users) we can help you more with the final output settings.

  • Supported way to migrate to larger hard disk

I am a happy, no exctatic owner of a Macbook Pro 15 inch 2.6, purchased in December 2012.
The 750 GB hard disk is a bit tight.
So I'm looking at getting a 1.5 TB drive and migrating to it.
I don't want to lose my restore partion or anything else I've already done.
How should I go about it?
    I have thought of using:
    Carbon Copy for Mac
    Clonezilla
Booting a Live CD Linux and using dd
Anyone done what I'm trying to do?
    Configuration:
Main boot is Mac with refit add in to manage boots.
    200 MB for Mac boot
    200 MB for bootcamp Windows
The rest of the drive is allocated for Centos 6.4 I use grub as the boot manager for centos and windows.
    Hope this is enough.

    Mine looks exactly like yours.
What I'm hoping to clone is the entire hard disk.
I've followed CCC guidelines and set up a recovery partition and copied the Mac OS parition.
I was hoping to copy bootcamp and centos across as well, but so far no luck.
Though I know bootcamp and the centos stuff are accessible in other ways.
I could just as easily boot centos and use dd to do the job here. Partition up the new disk before hand using the apple disk tool and dd parition by parition using centos. Seems like an awful lot of work though.
Since Mac OS is open source based, I assume I could do this job with dd running under the main OS. Problem there is fdisk works a little differently.
I know i can if successfully clone non Mac paritions either before or after the disk switch. I'm a Unix/Linux geek after all.
Thanks for all the good input.

  • Is there any easy way to migrate painter reports from 4.7 Enterprise to 6.0

    Dear All
We are being upgraded from 4.7 Enterprise to ECC 6.0 . The issue that we are facing is that company has more than 200 report painter reports ( on special ledger)  and I was wondering if there is any easier way to migrate it to ECC than redoing the whole work. What I mean to say is that, is there any tool/program/tcode that we can use for copying/editing purpose of the reports in ECC 6.0 to be based on flex ledger.
    Thanks

    Hello
Why do you need to transport the reports?  Upgrade to 6.0 should keep your
    old reports from 4.7.
In any case transaction GR57 allows you to export them to local file in C:\ and GR58 will import them. I have tested between systems of different releases and
    it worked correctly.

  • Is there an easy way to migrate from Outlook 2007 on the PC to Mac Mail?

Upgraded to a new Macbook Pro. I have a laptop with Office 2007 with Outlook 2007. What is the best way to migrate to the new Macbook Pro? Also, If I set up the cloud, will it sync with Mac Mail (Do I have to have an @ icloud.com email or can I use the email I registered with ICLOUD?)
    Thanks for your help.

Create the zone, and migrate like a physical server -- but take care with your storage. You'll either have to add the devices into the zone's configuration or loopback mount them into the zone.
    Either way works.

  • Is there a better way to edit and create a Page Size list for InDeisgn CC 2014?

I have about 65 iMac machines I'm responsible for at a publishing company.  The users need a specific custom Page Size list to display when setting up a new document.  It's a very long list of sizes for various products.  The only way I know how to edit this size list is to open the .xml file in Dreamweaver and edit the code.  I would like to know if there is a better way to do this for InDesign CC 2014.  At the moment I have to take this one file and install individually on all users accounts on all 65 machines.  Here is the path of the file I edit by hand:  Mac HD/Users/(User Account)/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 10.0/en_US/Pages Sizes/New Page Sizes.xml

There is no special folder for templates. You just put them where it makes sense to you, and you access the same way you would open any existing file.
The only functional difference between a template (.indt) and document (.indd) file is the default opening behavior. By default templates open as untitled copies and documents open as originals. You can change from one to the other just by changing the file extension.
The advantage of using a template over a document size preset is the preset only defines a page size. The template can include multiple pages, multiple master pages, styles you want to use, objects already in place, etc. And the use of a template removes the temptation to "recycle" an old issue of a recurring project. Starting each issue fresh from a known clean template reduces the risk of accumulated minor corruption that can eventually cause a fatal problem.

  • Why are there 2 'after effects', 14 and regular and which one is the best use? It seems a little crazy to use twice the storeage for the same program?

I up graded adobe cc last night and the cc app down loaded up-grades to my original cc apps, plus another app of each labeled 14. Why do we need two copies of the same app on our machines, and which one is the best to use. I hope adobe in not going down the same road as apple and screwing up the works. i still remember way back when adobe goofed it so bad I switched to final cut. Now apple has screwed up final cut and I am back to Premiere. I know we have huge drives now, but come on, why two bit eating monsters that do the same thing. Stan / Desert Wind Productions.

The "2014" versions are new versions of the software. It's like the difference between CS5 and CS6. The new one is (most of the time) significantly better. This isn't any weird screwup, it's just a new version.
You may want to keep the old version around for compatibility, client needs, safety, etc. However, it probably behooves you to use the current version for all of its new features, etc.

  • Is there a way to migrate my iPhoto content into Lightroom 5?

I have been using iPhoto as my photo organising app since I first got my Mac, and I'm reasonably happy with the way it works. I have all my photos organised into 'Events', and it is all very satisfactory.
However I am aware that iPhoto is on it's way out with the upcoming release of Yosemite in the autumn, and so I wondered about changing over to the 3rd Party, (but highly recommended), Adobe Lightroom app.
I've paid my money for the Adobe 'Creative Cloud' subscription package, which includes full versions of both Lightroom 5 and Photoshop, but I've hit a snag when I come to migrate my photos from iPhoto 9.5.1 into Lightroom 5.5.
Does anyone know if there is a way to migrate iPhoto content -organised into Events- into Lightroom please?
I am running iPhoto under OS X 10.9.4.

iPhoto is not on the way out with the release of Yosemite. Apple have stated that it will be updated to run on Yosemite. That means that iPhoto will continue to run for another 18 months at least.  iPhoto will then be migrated into a new App, called Photos, sometime in 2015. This migration will include the seamless adapting of your iPhoto app to the new Library. Even then, iPhoto will still continue to run until you update to a version of the OS that doesn't run it at all. There has been a lot of discussion on the merits or otherwise of migrating to Lightroom. One thing is sure is that there is no rush, and it might be worth waiting to see what the new Photos app is like before making such a big decision.
You've gone from using a consumer level Photo Manager (retail cost $15) to a using two very serious professional level applications (combined retail cost about $800 - if you could still buy Photoshop at retail at all.) Even at subscription rates thats $100+ per year. Are you sure that's what you want to do? That's a heck of a learning curve for a start.
    Anyway to cases:
Lightroom has no ability at all to parse an iPhoto Library. There is no migration path at all. So you'll need to export your Events to folders in the Finder. Then import those to Lightroom.
When you export you're going to have to choose which version to export - the original or the edited versions. Or both - and have duplicates in your Lightroom library. Also, you'll need to consider what to do with metadata that you may have added in iPhoto. Along the way you'll lose the non-destructive editing feature.

    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921
has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

  • Easy way to migrate users from one machine to another?

I have an iMac lab where students have their own local accounts. The machines are bound to W2k Server with AD. New school year, new seating charts, some users must move. Is there an easy way to migrate a user and all their stuff from one machine to another? We do have Remote Desktop BTW. I'm not finding an obvious answer so I guess there isn't but I sure wish there were. I suppose they could copy anything they want onto the server. set up a new account on the new machine and pull it all back off the server, but that's not "easy".

    Hi
+The machines are bound to W2k Server with AD.+
This could be a telling statement although without further information it would be hard to say?
What I'm assuming from this is that current mac clients are bound to Active Directory. This would mean that user accounts exist on the Server and not locally. In which case there would be nothing to transfer other than the local admin account - again assuming you want the applications installed on the current client macs transferring over to the new client macs.
To be honest it would be easier and less hassle to create a new local admin account and install compatible software fresh. Use the same tools you used to 'bind' the old client macs to Active Directory for the new client macs.
+We do have Remote Desktop BTW+
You could utilize this to (a) name all the new mac clients with appropriate hostnames and (b) 'bind' new mac clients by issuing dsconfigad from the command line. If this seems like too much hard work then you could simply exercise your legs and walk round each one in turn.
Even if your current mac clients are configured with Mobile Accounts (locally cached network accounts) this would still not be a problem as you can manually or automatically sync the locally cached networked home folder back to the server and then log in with that account again on the new mac clients. The home folder should then be cached locally.
This assumes you've configured Directory Utility in the appropriate way.

  • Way of migration?

i´ll have my new mac book air in the next days and now i´m a bit worried about the migration from my macbook. i used to do it via firewire which never gave me any problems. but as the mba does not provide you with a firewire port i had planned to do it wirelessly. now i hear people saying the wireless migration gets stuck after 5 minutes, it takes 20 hours and so on. my question now is if it´s possible to migrate with about 40gb of data wirelessly and if there is another way of migration that i could choose (using the migration assistant)? via ethernet? but i don´t really know how to set that up.
    - christian

I agree -- I've been using a USB Ethernet connection on the MBA to migrate my data from my MacBook to the MBA. I've tried to do this wirelessly and it's annoyingly slow (24hrs then hanged) yet the Ethernet connection managed this in 3hrs.
Only problem is that I'm having serious problems using the Mac Migration Assistant; it copies stuff to my MBA but then the files it copies aren't visible to me at all; even though my MBA hard disk shows that a lot of space on the hard disk has been used up -- strange but am on the phone at the moment to AppleCare to discuss it.

  • Best way to migrate system settings?

I've got an archlinux installation on a 32-64bit virtual machine which I would like to copy on a 32bit physical machine.
The virtual machine kernel is dual architecture, but I think it's actually 64bit.
I guess it's not possible to downgrade the whole system to 32bit, so I can't make a simple disk clone..
So, is there some easy way of transferring user data and system settings from the old installation to a new one?

v43 wrote:how do I get pacman to install the packages listed on a file? the file i can produce with pacman -Qe > list
Use pacman -Qeq instead of -Qe to output just the package name. From there on you can simply use something like:
    pacman -S $(pacman -Qeq)
    # or
    pacman -Qeq > pkg_list
    pacman -S $(cat pkg_list)

  • Is there an easy way to transfer playlist from laptop to iMac?

    Hi,
I just made custom tunes and a playlist on my laptop.
How do I transfer the playlist (with the new tunes) to my iMac?
Do I have to find the actual songfile on the laptop - copy to laptop desktop, then through "target mode" - copy to desktop of imac and put in library?  Or is there an easier way???
    Thanks!

The method I have used is to export the playlist on the first Mac, File>Library>Export Playlist, this creates a text file that you save to say your desktop.  Then copy that text file to the second Mac and from iTunes on the second Mac import that playlist, File>Library>Import Playlist.
Note however this will NOT copy the songs from one Mac to another, but assuming you have the same songs on both, this method works well. If you dont have the same songs on both as you said then you first need to copy the songs manually from 1 Mac to the other, either through Home Sharing or Add to Library etc.
Easiest way to do that is to create a new folder on desktop, drag the songs in your playlist into that folder, copy that folder to your iMac then Add to Library from iTunes on your iMac & select that folder you just copied.

  • Is there a way to see if my stolen phone has been activated for use?

My iPhone was recently stolen.  I have a feeling of who took it, but I can't prove it.  I was wondering if I have the serial number is there a way to find out if it has been activated for use?

That would be between you and your carrier.
Did you report the iPhone as lost or stolen with your carrier?
If so, do you know if your carrier has a blacklist that prevents a phone from being re-activated with their network after being reported lost or stolen?

  • Migrate Business Events between systems

We are in the process of creating several dozen custom business events and subscriptions, and was wondering if there was a way to migrate them from one instance to another. The thought of having to key each event and subscription 4x (dev, test,qa,prod) is just begging for a typo.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how we can migrate them?
