Unfortunately there are nitwits out there who hear one thing and warp it into something else. When I used to have an iPod touch, people came up to me all the time saying, "Nice phone!" However, those aren't the people I'm talking about. The people I'm talking about are the ones who hear about the 3G iPhone, and call it a 3G touch, and transform that into 3rd generation iPod touch.
The best thing to do is go to the source and check the facts whenever you hear an interesting rumor like that.
There are also plenty of rumors saying things like "There's gonna be $99 iPhone at Wal-Mart", which was a popular rumor until confirmed to be wrong by multiple sources. Rumors like that cannot be confirmed true or false, and until a reliable source says, you'll have to wait it out.

I backed up and restored the device and reinstalled the operating system, which fixed the bug I experienced with the album art not displaying next to the correct artists. Since that has happened, my computer no longer recognizes my iPod. How can I get it to recognize the iPod Touch again?

Make sure you have the laters version of iTunes. The latest is 11.1

I have had a third generation iPod touch for three years. It's worked fine sice recent,y when it started looseing battery very fast and every apo including the built in ones like mail and photos have been crashing after about five. I uses of use!!!!

But the main issue is that all my apps (which is why I use the iPod, to play them) crash after using them for 5 minutes, this does include the built in apps like photos and calendar ect.. I have had this for about 3 years and love it very much it's not damaged at all. I Have taken very good are of it . Is it time for a new iPod or can I fix it please help!!!! Thanks!!

I have the iPod touch 3rd generation and the sound is staticed or not playing at all. it was of and on now it is always staticed or not playing. I brought it to best buy were I got it and they couldn't do anything because it had a small crack, now it has a larger crack got when I pressed down on the bottom of the iPod. I haven't been able to update my iPod since I got it in October of 2009. I tried about a week ago and it took over 3 days for it to even start the first step of backing the iPod up.

We are talking about that Nike device. We have a iPod Classic (software version 2.0.1) and an iPod touch (iOS 4.2.1, an earlier model....maybe 3 years ago). When we plug in into the classic it says "the accessory is not supported) and when we plug it into the touch it says "no receiver required," but neither will load the nike+ running app. I believe it said that our iPod was incompatible with this app. Is there something we need to do to make it compatible?
