Is there a way to create a list in a new sheet based on a value within an entry on the first sheet?

I have a list of DVDs in one sheet which are categorised etc. as well as having true/false checkboxes to mark whether they have been watched.
Is there a way of populating a second sheet only with the rows that are marked "FALSE" in the "Watched" column?

Yes, but you migth find it just as efficient to filter the first table to show only rows where the checkbox is unchecked.
Here's a method for showing the list on a second table (whih may be placed o a second sheet).
Add an Index column ( C ) to the Data table.
C2, and filled down: =IF(B=FALSE,COUNTIF($B$2:B2,FALSE),"")
The second table, Not Watched, uses the formula below to retrieve the titles of the indexed (ie. not watched) DVDs.
A2, and filled down: =IF(ROW()-1>MAX(Data :: $C),"",LOOKUP(ROW()-1,Data :: $C,Data :: $A))
Th IF part at the beginning acts as a switch to stop LOOKUP when the last unread title has been retrieved.

    Hello!  Just like the title, is there a way to create a "common desktop" for all RD/TS 2012 users?
    I know how to do this using regular W7 workstations and 2008 Servers, but the "Default" folder under the USERS directory is gone and I'm not sure how to get the icons there in Windows 8, let alone Server 2012 Remote Desktop.
    I've installed Office 2010 on the 2012 server, but every end user that logs in has to manually type in "Word," "Excel." "PowerPoint." etc from the metro interface, then right-click each icon to add the shortcut to the desktop.
    Given the... uh.. unfamiliarity of our endusers around the computer, this really isn't the best option.  What I'd like is them to log on and have all the Office icons ready and availible for them.
    Any ideas?

    Currently with azure powershell version 0.8.0 I am able to provision new Azure virtual machines using a combination of New-AzureVMconfig | Add-AzureProvisioningConfig | New-AzureVM cmdlets.  This gets me standard tier virtual machines with parameters
    for -instanceSize { ExtraSmall, Medium, Large, etc). 
    Is there a way for me to specify that I want a Basic Tier ExtraSmall vs a Standard Tier ExtraSmall ?

  • Is there a way to still get audible alerts of new messages without having any banners or text appear in the lock screen?

    I'm trying to make sure I am doing this correctly.  How do you set up alerts for both text messages and iMessages so that even when the phone is locked you will still get an audible or vibration alert as soon as the message is received?  And is there a way to do this without having any text appear on the lock screen that shows who the message is from.  My phone stays in locked mode most of the time but I still want to recieve alerts for new messages as soon as they arrive.  I'm also concerned about privacy so I don't want any text or preview or even any information about the sender to appear on the lock screen.  I just want a vibration or audible alert.

    Open the Settings app > Notifications > Messages. Scroll down adn turn OFF "View In Lock Screen". You may want to consider setting Alert style to none, but this will not impact what happens when the screen is locked.

    we have over 1500 firefox users and its very confusing to them if after update they start their Firefox and this "Checking Your Add-ons" window comes.

    We currently have 3.6.x versions of Firefox in most computers, and if i do a silent install via sccm to version 12, then if user starts the new firefox for the first time, it checks addons, like java quick starter and browsing protection (f-secure) etc. Second time when they start firefox, it starts normally.
    My question is - is there some way to avoid this first run addon compability checking?
    I've tried numerous preferences in mozilla.cfg, nothing helps so far.

  • Is there a way to create a rule for Apple Mail that when a certain person is a recipient, make the email plain text?

    My boss has a blackberry and when I send pdf attachments and copy him, he cannot see the attachments.  I forget to make the email plain text before sending it to him.  I can use Thunderbird as my client and it works fine but it is not linked to the other apps on my mac like Apple Mail.  Can I make a rule or something for Mail so that when his email address is a recipient of the email, it will send as plain text to him?

    I don't think so. Not without setting up an AppleScript and I am not proficient with those.
    You can, however, set the follolwing in Mail > Preferences > Composing
    Responding: Use the same message format as the original message.
    But that would only be for responding to messages sent from his Blackberry.

    There is away to separate the PDF into five PDFs on your Mac. Email or send the Numbers PDF to iTunes on your Mac.
    Open the PDF in Preview...
    Make sure the Sidebar is showing, Menu... View... Sidebar.
    Click on the first page in the sidebar... Menu... Edit... Copy.
    Menu... File... New From Clipboard...
    File...Save As.
    Do this with all five pages. The screen shot is not a bad idea. But... the image will be only 1024x768, not very big and not scalable. PDFs are basically victor image which means they are scalable to any size.

    I checked the EINE table to verify the Infor Record was created for consignment
    In MIGO I use the following:

    error msg: purchase info record not founf in purchasing organization??

  • Is there a way to create a table of contents listing the order of tabs(sheets) in a Numbers document?

    I am planning my wedding and I have this huge Numbers document with 20+ tabs and I have plans to add many more tabs. Is there a way to create a table that has two columns: column 1= order that a tab appears, column 2=tab name? For example, my first three tabs are called Venues, Must Haves, and To Do List (in this order. I'd want this table of contents to be in the first sheet of the document, so it would be like sheet 1. Then I 'd want like the cells of column 1 to be like 2, 3, 4 (2nd, 3rd, 4th sheet in the document), and then the cells of column 2 to say Venues, Must Haves, and To Do List. I can make a tiny table of one cell in each sheet that I copied the name of the sheet and then do like a cell reference for column 2, but I'm having trouble w column 1.

    There is no referential value for the order of the sheets, just the sheet name. Only two things I can think of to suggest:
    Do the same thing for the first column that you do with the second (i.e. put a referential column in the same table as the Name and point to that).
    Seriously consider using a word processor program. Numbers is probably the wrong tool.

    What you most likely want is an ABS tree of your own, containing only the PKGBUILDs of those packages which you want to be included in your repository.
    You should already have heard of the gensync program. In short, the parameters are the root of PKGBUILDs, sorted in subdirectories (ie. like the ABS tree), the intented name and location of the repository database file, and the directory containing the binary packages.
    Let's assume you downloaded the current ABS tree to your hard drive, as well as all matching (same version as in the PKGBUILDs!) packages from a mirror, but you don't want the reiserfsprogs package in your repository. To achieve that, you must remove the /var/abs/base/reiserfsprogs directory, and may optionally remove the binary package, too. Since gensync analyzes the ABS tree you supplied as a parameter, removing the subdirectory of a specific package will cause this very package to not be included in the generated database. Assuming your packages lie in /home/arch/i686/current, your gensync call would look like this:
    gensync /var/abs /home/arch/i686/current/current.db.tar.gz /home/arch/i686/current
    If there are any discrepancies like
      - PKGBUILD, but no matching binary package found
      - PKGBUILD and binary package versions do not match
      - permission problems (writing the db file must be possible)
    gensync will gladly complain.
    Otherwise you should find the db file in the place you specified. Keep in mind that the name of the db.tar.gz file must be equal to the repository tag in the pacman.conf to use the repo.
    To make sure the db contains the right packages; use
    tar -tzf current.db.tar.gz | less
    to list the contents. Every package has it's own subdirectory including the metadata, which is rather obvious considering the file's generated from such a structure in the first place.
    The binary packages along with a correctly generated db file are all you need. Make the repository directory containing these files available through FTP if local availability doesn't cut it for you, edit your pacman.conf if needed, and use it!
    Adding packages works similar; All you need to have is the PKGBUILD in an ABS-like tree (it doesn't have to be the official tree; gensync doesn't care where the files come from. Just stick to one subdirectory per PKGBUILD, and you'll be fine), and the matching packages somewhere else, run gensync with the appropriate directories, and cackle with glee.

    Yes, it's called Internet Sharing, and here's how to set it up...
    To setup for Internet Sharing (Wireless to Wired):
    Enable Software Firewall (Computer A)
    System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall
    o Click Stop to start the software firewall
    Setup the Network
    ADSL Modem > (Ethernet cable) > (Ethernet port) Wireless Internet Router > (wireless) > (AirPort Card) Computer A (Ethernet port) > (Ethernet cable) > (Ethernet port) Computer B
    Setup Port Order (Computer A)
    System Preferences > Network > Show > Network Port Configurations
    o Verify that "AirPort" and "Built-In Ethernet" are enabled.
    o Verify that "AirPort" is at the top of the list, followed by "Built-In Ethernet."
    o Click "Apply Now."
    Configure the Internet Connection (Computer A)
    System Preferences > Network > Show > AirPort > TCP/IP
    o Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
    o Configure IPv6: Automatically or Off
    Enable Internet Sharing (Computer A)
    System Preferences > Sharing > Internet
    o Share your connection from: AirPort
    o To computers using: Built-In Ethernet (checked) (Note: Uncheck all other entries in the list.)
    o Click Start

    I have to regularly update a list of committee members and their email addresses which is then sent to all of the members. 
    Does anyone know if there a way of creating a button for each of the committees in the list which, when clicked, creates an email to all the  members contained within that committee?  I will need to add up to 14 email addresses to the one button. I need to know this because the various members in the committees are  fed up of copying and pasting all the email addresses into their email messages.
    I am now using Acrobat XI but I still can't figure out if this is even possible. If not a button, is there some other way of being able to launch an email to multiple addresses within a PDF?

    Not really. But you can combine the data from multiple forms into a single (new) spreadsheet via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet...

  • Is there a way to create a new section under "Library"?

    iTunes lists several sections/divisions under the heading "Library" (Music, Movies, Books, Apps, etc), but I have a lot of audio (and a few video) recordings of speeches that I would like to put in a division of their own, preferably called "Talks". Is there a way of creating such a section/division? Better still is there any hope that iTunes would ever come with such a division? I can't believe that I'm the only one who collects interesting talks.
    (Just to be sure that I'm being clear, I am NOT asking how to use an "alternate iTunes Library". I want a new section within the exisiting Library. BTW, I know how to use playlists, but I don't want talks mixed in with Music or audiobooks.)

    The requirement is - User should be able to enter comments in a edit box for a section in a dashboard and save it. For other users, this should show up as a non-editable comment while for the user it should be editable box.
    Example: In a report in a section on dashboard for Supplier Trends, a Purchase Manager should enter the commments -" This weeks trends show no issues. Next week watch out for supplier X". For everyone other than him, this should show up as comments.
    1. Is there a way to achieve this functionality?
    2. Can this be achived using write back option?
    3. Or will this require java scripting?

    If you want to have a better experience of your music files, how about just use WMP to enjoy all the songs, you can
    sort by Artists or Album or whatever you like. There, you can have a better and easier way to organize all your music
    files.
    For Windows Explorer, did you mean
    medium size icons in artist, while list icon in albums, you can just organize as you want like the following screenshot.
