Is there anyway to have your email sent from IPhone (gmail acct) question?

I don't want it say my gmail email address (when sent)but would rather want it to display my work address...Is this possible?

I have a gmail account where all my work emails are forwarded when I'm out of the office, so I associated my @work email to @gmail on the Gmail website. Then I setup the @gmail account as IMAP on the iPhone, using the following:
+Name: Name+
+Address: @work address+
+_Incoming Mail Server_+
+Host Name: imap.gmail.com+
+UserName: @gmail address+
+Password: Password+
+_Outgoing Mail Server:_+
+Host Name: smtp.gmail.com+
+UserName: @gmail address+
+Password: Password+
When you send an e-mail it will appear as @work for recipients using web-based servers. The only problem is that if your recipient uses Outlook 2003 or 2007, they will see the from e-mail as "@gmail on behalf of @work".

You do this at the server level for the account you want to forward, not on the device itself.

  • Email sent from iPhone appears in Sent Items days later

On our Mac clients we use Entourage 2008 SP2 which connects to Exchange 2003 SP2 running on Window Server 2003.
So we're very pleased our iPhone 3Gs with 3.1.1 work as well as they do with ActiveSync email to Exchange. (Well done Apple.)
However, we have noticed that some emails sent from the iPhone appear in Entourage's (and OWA's) Sent Items folder days later than when the message was sent.
    Also, the Subject is BLANK.
This is not good as we are contemplating moving from BlackBerry to iPhone for our client servicing teams who need to have an accurate record on on-the-hoof communications.
    Any ideas?
    Regards
    C.

IPhone OS 3.0 did not identify itself properly to Exchange 2007 on any iPhone. With iPhone OS 3.1, all iPhones identify themselves properly to the server, essentially fixing a glitch in the previous operating system. However, now iPhone and iPhone 3G users that upgraded to iPhone OS 3.1 won't be able to login to Exchange 2007 servers that require hardware encryption. The new iPhone 3GS, you won't notice any change. Apple's newest phone is equipped with hardware encryption, so it will meet the requirements of the Exchange server when identifying itself. If you've already upgraded your phones to iPhone OS 3.1 on an iPhone or iPhone 3G and connect to an Exchange 2007 server, you have to turn off the hardware encryption requirement for those devices. So, if you decide you have to have hardware encryption, then you'll need to upgrade all phones to 3gs.

  • Reading emails sent from iPhones on Nokia N8 Belle

My phone works well and receives "normal E mails" and attachements.
However E mails sent from iPhones display the header and any attachements, photos or security/copyright message.
My complaint is that the text of the message is missing. Once downloaded there is no option to refresh
or download again. I do not remove messages from the server with the mobiles only with the PC.
When message is fetched by a PC the text is there. It also arrives on my N900.
I could not find mention of this in the discussions.. Thanks in anticipation.. Nokpiks

If you don't want to install what is offered, you can go to SW updates > tap on three horizontal line icon at bottom right of screen > Settings > Auto-check for updates = OFF
You also need to temporarily turn off mobile data and restart to remove the notification.

  • Custom "FROM" address on email sent from iPhone

We need to insure that all email sent from an iPhone 6 uses a particular company FROM address. That address will not be set up in an email account on the phone, and I'm not able to see any obvious way to configure what we require.
    Is this available?
    Thanks.

    Can you elaborate a little?
Are you speaking of an email signature? Or something like a custom address?

  • Emails sent from iPhone not being received

I've noticed this happening over the past week or so... Anytime I initiate a new email thread from my Gmail account on my iPhone, the recipient isn't getting it. If I go into Gmail via the web I'll see the email in my Sent Items, but it never arrives. In one instance, I got a bounceback message from the recipient's server, but in the others I haven't gotten anything back. This has happened to at least 5 different email addresses, all with different providers, that I've tried to send to, and needless to say I am sure that all of these addresses are indeed valid recipients.
I'm already running iPhone OS 3.1...

If you see it in the gmail sent box on the web, then it was sent.
It sounds like something you need to talk with google about.

  • Is there anyway to have 3 emails to receive iMessage text ?

My boyfriends phone recently broke so we are sharing iPhones untill he is able to get a new one , my question is  we are signed into his Apple ID for iMessage I tried adding the email I usually get texts from but it's always saying " verifying..." and I go to my email to see if I can verify it but there's no email ever there. So is there anyway we can stay on his and I add my email to get my texts? I know 2 Apple ID's don't work but the email I used to get texts from is different then my Apple ID but I did use that email when I was signed into my Apple ID.. Help?
I always sign in and out both our Apple ID for iMessage but the texts don't come through from when I was signed out when signed in make sense? We have no service so we need wifi to use iMessage so is really appreciate if we could get this fixed asap!

This has nothing to do with iMessage.
You need to contact your carrier regarding blocking all SMS/MMS with your line/number. This won't prevent you from exchanging iMessages.

  • While traveling in Ireland and riding on hotel WiFi, emails sent from iPhone not always received -- some were, some were not.  All were shown as sent on my iPhone.

While traveling in Ireland last week, I was using my iPhone 5 to access my incoming email and to send email.  All of my outgoing emails are shown as sent but not all were received.  Not a function of whether emails were replies or particular addressees -- some emails to same addressees received, others not.  Help would be appreciated.

That sounds like a local WiFi issue...can you login to the email server of your email provider?  If so, you can check and see if the emails you sent reached the server.
Providers like Verizon, and AT&T, and Comcast in the US have direct login capability for subscribers...there you can check your account activity and see if the emails were received by the server to send on.  The iPhone merely shows you that the email left the iPhone, nothing about what happened after that.

  • Email sent from one gmail account returns to a different gmail account

We have and iPhone 5s and an iPhone 6 as well as an iPad 2 and a MacBook Pro . The operating system is current on all of them. Something has changed such that when we send gmail messages from one gmail account replies are received in a different gmail account. This happens on all devices. What kind of setting do we need to change to correct this problem?

Try Mail/Preferences/Accounts /Account Information. Select an account, then go to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). From the drop down menu select Edit SMPT server list. Then set up a server for each mail account so that is associated with the e-mail address. Then go to each account and set that server as the Outgoing Mail Server (SMPT). You can click Use only this server if desired.

  • Is there a way to retrieve email SENT from @carrier.blackberry.com

I remembered just recently that I had sent an email to someone using my @carrier.blackberry.com address.
I don't ever remember seeing this email in my sent folder. However, quite some time has passed and I now want to know if it is possible to retrieve this email.
I am under the impression that email must be stored somewhere for quite some time, perhaps for audit purposes, however, will I be able to retrieve that specific email.
I can narrow it down to my sent folder, month, day, and even year. possibly even time.
would someone please let me know if this would be at all possible. and who I would/should contact.

There is no way to retrieve those emails that I know of. They are not held on any server, can't be checked remotely, and quite honestly, I remind users almost weekly around these forums to get rid of those email accounts and get a free gmail or yahoo account.

  • Is there a way to print a string of emails sent from iphone to outlook?

When you have 7 or more emails and you try to print them, any past the 7th are compresses to a single letter wide and they run down the page. You can read the emails due to its indenting to the right.

Look in Address Book > File > Print > Click the Show details button if necessary > Style: Lists.
First you need to mark the addresses to print in Address Book > Edit > select all > to include everyone.

  • Emails sent from iphone sit in BT webmail but do n...

This has been occuring on and off for a number of months. It seems to happen when emails are sent via air time data and not directly via wifi to broadband. I have tried everything I am capable of and have also recuited my company IT dept to help. They say that it is clearly the email ISP service problem as the emails are sitting in the sent folder on the webmail master email account.
Has anyone else experienced this rpoblem? And is it possibly related to the peculiarly untransparent email service migration that is apparently happening within BT?
Please, any help welcomed. I am concerned that important communications are not reaching intended recipients and this could potentially cause problems.
    Thank you

Perhaps Gmail would be better? I have no issues with it, and it can also pickup mail from other accounts as well.
It will also allow you to send mail from your btinternet account if you wish.
Its also has a two stage verification process to prevent unauthorised access, which you can activate.

  • Emails sent from iPhone don't appear in Sent folder

This should be an easy one for you guys!
I have an iPhone 4s running the latest IOS. When I send emails from the phone they do not appear in the Sent folder on the phone. I can't find the setting to change this.
    Thanks!!

Has the Mobile Me account been set up on your iPhone as POP rather than IMAP? If it has been set up as POP then any message sent will not be mirrored. Your Mobile Me account should also be configured as IMAP on all your devices in order to see those messages in your Sent Items folder.
The idea of IMAP is to be device independent such that whatever you do is mirrored on all your devices as they each synchronize with Mobile Me. I suppose you could view the Mobile Me "cloud" as being the main repository. If you delete a message from your Inbox via your iPhone, the next time you connect your Mac that message will not appear in the associated Inbox in Mail.
    Does that make sense?

  • Help - every email SENT from iPhone is marked as "Definitely Spam"

    Hello
First time poster, would really appreciate some help.
I've got an iPhone 3GS running on Vodaphone in the UK.
I've sent up my mail (using my own Pop account through a .tv website) and all is great to receive, however every message I send from the phone itself seems to tag with "Definitely Spam" in the header, which is a real pain.
Does anyone know how I stop that. The SSL authentication is set on, with correct passwords etc. I've checked my email server and made sure there isn't a filter to spam my own email, and as far as I can see everything is fine. I've even tried deleting the account and setting it up again from scratch, but I still have the same problem
    All help appreicated.
    Thank you.

I'm not aware of any spam filter that checks email you send, and the iPhone's Mail app does not have a spam filter for received messages so it certainly does not have a spam filter to check messages you send which I've never heard of.
How do you know the iPhone's Mail app is adding anything to the message header - how and where did you confirm this, and this is being added to the message header where?
Something like this can be added by a spam filter, which is being done by the recipient's incoming mail server or by the recipient's email client used to access the account on their computer, not by the iPhone 's Mail app which doesn't include a spam filter for received messages and certainly not for messages you send.

  • POP3 Email - Sent from iPhone - No Sent Items

    Hi All,
I have a POP3 account set up on my iPhone 4. I have sent emails from the account using the phone, and have confirmed they've been received at the other end.
My Sent mail folder however is not showing up with the mail I have sent. I've done a few google searches and it seems to be something other people have noted, but I can't seem to find a solution.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Dave

With a  POP account, the account's Sent mailbox will not be created until a message is successfully sent with the account. Since you state that you have verified that you have successfully sent mail from your phone, try deleting the account on your phone, followed by re-creating it.
