Is there "Shuffle mode" in L8 like in PT ?

HI,
I am the new in L8, work with PT HD everyday,
I wonder if there is something like +Shuffle mode+ of PT in L8
and where can I find it.
Thanks for your help.

You can do it in the Arrange window.
Use the cycle mode selectors to highlight a particular area in the Arrange window, just like you would if you wanted to loop a section. If you want to cut that area out (just like shuffle in Pro Tools) use "Cut Section" at the top of the screen. It's a larger button near the center at the top.

  • Creative ZEN Stone Shuffle Mode?

%Creative ZEN Stone > Shuffle Mode? I recently bought a Creative ZEN Stone 2GB (2nd generation) MP3 Player. I created one folder with random music I like to listen to while making sports which I'd like to play in Shuffle mode and some other folders containing some complete albums, ordered with numbers in front of the file names. If I switch to the "sports" folder an choose Shuffle mode, the player seems to shuffle all the files on the Player. Of course I'd like it to shuffle only the files contained in the "sports" folder, listening to ambient music during sports doesn't motivate me too much you know. And if I want to play the "ambient"-folder in Shuffle mode, I don't want to listen to power metal at all.
Did I miss something or is the Player unable to shuffle one single folder? Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you choose Shuffle mode, it shuffles all the files on the Player, regardless of any folders.
Is there any (probably 3rd-party) firmware out there with which I can make my Creative ZEN Stone 2GB (2nd generation) shuffle only one single folder?
Thank you in advance for you answers.

When you say second generation, do you mean zen stone with speaker or/and screen
On the zen stone plus with speaker ( and screen) you can shuffle just the contents of a folder without playing anything from another folder b y doing this:
Music > select a folder select play mode, select shuffle folder, job done.

  • Shuffle Mode that does not rep

Dear Creative Representati've,I am planning to purchase a flash based MP3 Player within the next couple of days. I am looking for a player that has a shuffle feature but that remembers not to repeat the same song until it has gone through the entire list of songs. Do any of your players have this or any similar feature that presents the repetition of songs but yet plays randomly? If so, please tell me what model or models will meet these needs.
I am currently interested in purchasing a MUVO Micro200.
    Thank you,Rene Requenez

I use a Muvo TX FM, which has three shuffle-modes.
They are: Shuffle repeat, Shuffle once, Shuffle folder.
You can read the detailed descriptions for them on page 40 of the manual:
    http://files.americas.creative.com/m...ish_Manual.pdf
Shuffle once and Shuffle folder are described exactly as you want it to be, they even stop playing after playing all songs once in random order. Shuffle repeat keeps on playing, but I guess it does not play a song twice as long as some songs have not been played yet. (like shuffle once without stopping)
I tested Shuffle folder some minutes ago to be able to report, and it seems as if the player remembers which songs have been played, as you want it to be.
Of course I did not listen to the songs in full length, I skipped. Therefore the player did not stop after the last song and then repeated all songs, but if I did not skip the last song, it did stop!
The "V200" and "Micro N200" are technically very similar to the TX FM, so I guess they have the same features. You can look into the other manuals, but the one I found for the N200 was not as good as the obove listed. I could read that the N200 also has the 3 modes that I mentioned above, but there where no descriptions for them.

  • Deselecting albums or songs from participating in shuffle mode

I would like the ability to deselect certain albums or songs from participating in shuffle mode. I currently don't see a way to do that. How do you contact Apple with this type of a suggestion for a future release of iPod software?

There is no control provided and no way to do that.
Feedback links are reached by following the "Contact us" links you see at the bottom of most of the pages at the Apple site. Following down the various trees would eventually have brought you to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipod.html

  • IPhone keeps going to shuffle mode.

My iPhone doesn't seem to play back to where it left off, esp when I unplugged it from the cable charger.
It goes to SHUFFLE mode & I've to manually tune to where I left off. I'm listening to audio books & it's causing frustration.
    Advice needed.

i've noticed the same thing, and i believe it is intentionally done this way. i am very disappointed with the entire 'playlist' functionality of the iPhone. however, i have never had an iPod, so i don't know if it did the same thing or not.
i like listening to all of my music straight through, starting with artists whose names start with A going through the artists that start in Z, as if its on my iPhone, i love the music, and i want to listen to it.
you will have to manually select the first song you want to listen to, and the iPhone will continue from there.

  • Shortcut for shuffle mode?

After I have started playing an album or a playlist, is there a quick shortcut to put your Ipod into shuffle mode without having to go back to the main menu and select 'Settings'-'Shuffle' and select 'Songs'? Just thought it would be quick and slick.

Unfortunately, there is not. Apple does have the shuffle songs option on the main menu, but as you probably know, that shuffles everything.
To go back to the main menu quickly, you can hold down "Menu" for a couple of seconds, and then go right to settings.
iPods do have a main menu setting to put more options on the main menu, but you cannot put actual settings (like shuffle) on the main menu.
    Tell Apple you'd like this...

  • Grouping Songs in Shuffle mode?

Does anyone know if there's a way to "link" or group songs together so when in shuffle mode they play one after another? I have some songs that are multiple parts and are saved as multiple files(like many classical pieces are), but I don't ever want to here just a single part or section when in shuffle mode.
    Len

Further to Len's post, can anyone give me some tips on exactly how to rip and link songs or parts of songs to create one track that can then be shuffled on iPod (I have the same problem as Len). Can this be done in iTunes, or do I need some other software? Can you recommend any, if that's the case?
Isn't it a bit odd that iTunes has the ability to shuffle groupings but the iPod doesnt?
    Thanks

  • Why is an Audible book playing in Shuffle mode with music?

I bought an audio book on CD. I imported it to iTunes with the expectation that it would be in an audio book folder. It's not, all the segments are in my library and when I listen to my iPod in Shuffle mode it plays sections of the book with the music. How do I get these sections not to be part of the shuffle?
    Dave

"Genre" means nothing, really. It's just user settable data.
iTunes considers any files with the extension of M4B or AA to be "Audiobooks" and acts accordingly.
If you bought a book on CD, then you have a few options to make it work the way you're expecting.
    1. Import the CD as per normal, and make sure you import it into the AAC format. You can do this by selecting AAC in the Importing preferences. Once you've done that, rename all the resulting M4A files it creates to M4B files, and then remove and readd the files to the iTunes Library. When it sees the M4B extension, it will treat it as an audiobook.
    2. What you probably really want to do is to probably combine all those CD's into one big audiobook file. This is the way downloadable audiobooks work, and you get several advantages. One big file, smaller filesize, it remembers your place in the book, etc. How you do this varies, but here's how I do it:
    - First, I rip all the CD's as one big WAV file each. I do this with a program called ExactAudioCopy, or EAC. Naturally, this takes tons of disc space (estimate 800 meg per disc).
    - Second, I combine all those WAV files into one huge WAV file. This takes lots of space as well, and must also be done on an NTFS formatted hard drive. I use a progam called "WAVCat" to do this, but there's lots of programs that can do it.
    - Third, I set iTunes Importing options to encode into AAC at a low bitrate, like 48 or 64kbps. Then I put the huge WAV file in iTunes and use the Convert to AAC option. This process takes many, many hours to finish.
    - Finally, I rename the resulting file to have an M4B extension and add it to iTunes. I also delete all the temporary WAV files I created, getting all my hard drive space back.
Bit of an involved process, but the results are worth it, IMO. One audiobook file, at a low bitrate, and both iTunes and the iPod remember my playback location in it. Also it gets treated as a proper audiobook, showing up as an audiobook on the iPod and everything else.

  • Skipping entire album when using "album shuffle mode"

    Hello everybody !
I like the feature that I call "album shuffle mode", the one that plays randomly all albums. I was wondering if it is possible to skip an entire album to play the next one.
To be precise I don't want the album to be removed from music played in random mode, I just want to be able to skip it if it is not the thing I wanted to listen to.
Sometimes I'm getting Techno just after listening to Vivaldi
I would be happy to say "No no iPod ... you didn't choose the good album, try another one"
    Thanks
    Nano 8Go   Windows XP

Short of marking the albums you don't want to play in the shuffle mode in iTunes (which I believe you are saying you don't want to happen) then there really isn't a way to skip a whole album. I'm a little confused on what you are calling ranodom mode and what you are calling album shuffle mode. When you say random mode, are you referring to when a specific playlist is played in shuffle mode or are you referring to when every song on your ipod is being shuffled? My original answer above was assuming you meant when all songs on the ipod is being played.

  • Sequential songs in Shuffle mode?

I have several songs with intros on another track, is there a way I can make them play in sequence as one track when in Shuffle mode?

Same problem here to an extent. Some info:
    First iteration iPod shuffle 3G
    iPod firmware 1.1
    iTunes 9.0.3 on Windows XP
I started out with one big playlist like I used to use on my previous shuffle, this played in order.
I loaded multiple (many, actually) playlists and also added music by artist, this seemed to negate the playlists that were on there. The playlist menu only says "All Songs" now. Songs don't play in order even with the switch in the "in order" position. Mayhem in other words.
So I removed everything that wasn't a playlist, and now I'm back to having playlists again and songs do play in order.
Logic seems to say that if you add music that isn't part of a playlist, it does 2 things:
    1. You can't scroll through playlists anymore because they don't show up in the menu (it just says "All Songs").
    2. Songs don't play in order.
Not a super duper good start with this one, maybe it will get fixed at some point though... Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Despite the name "shuffle", I do want to listen to songs in order as they show up on albums.

  • Deleting songs/files while in shuffle mode

hello.i have an 80gb ipod classic.i would like to know how to listen to songs in shuffle mode without playing the language files i have in shuffle mode.i know i can just un check them in my library but, there are thousands of them and would take quite awhile to uncheck them so,is there any way to uncheck them more quickly or any other way.i would appreciate any help.thanks

    Hello joecomputer,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
One option is to enable the "Skip When Shuffling" option for each of these tracks in iTunes from under the Options tab of the *Get Info* window. Just highlight every track in your iTunes library by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking each track you wish to edit. When you have all of them selected, right->click on any one of them and choose *Get Info* from the pop up menu.
Or if the tracks are in sequence, simply click the first track in the sequence to highlight it, and then hold down the Shift key and click the last one in the sequence to highlight the first and last track and everything in between.
Then sync the updated changes to your iPod once they have been made. This option will tell your iPod to skip these tracks when you have it in Shuffle.

  • I have an Ipod Touch and when I activate the shuffle mode it keeps replaying the same song.  How do I fix this problem?

have an Ipod Touch and when I activate the shuffle mode it keeps replaying the same song.  How do I fix this problem?

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
    Any luck there?
By the way, this is the iPod Shuffle forum.  Since you have an iPod Touch, you should have posted this in the iPod Touch forum.

  • I have an iPod of rock and pop tracks which i generally use on shuffle mode. Now I have a second iPod to store classical music. If I plug it in to my pc will it duplicate my rock and pop or will it register as a different device?

I have an iPod Classic with rock and pop tracks on which I generally play in shuffle mode. I have now bought a second iPod Classic to store and play classical music as I don't want to shuffle rock with classical. What will happen when I attach the new iPod to my pc? Will it register as a new device with an iTunes file of its own, or will it duplicate what I already have on the original iPod?

You can attach the second iPod and configure it to sync whatever content you like without affecting the first iPod.  I would take a look at this article for different ways to manage multiple iPods on one computer.

  • Shuffle 3G is 'stuck' in straight play and won't switch to shuffle mode.

The shuffle when in shuffle mode shuffles the songs reasonably randomly and when i staright mode, I can access all my playlists BUT if i switch from shuffle to straight and the want to switch back to shuffle the problem begins. The shuffle will then only play straight mode in either position of the switch, ie straight or shuffle position and the only way to correct it is to connect the shuffle to itunes [not do a restore] until the sync is complete [a matter of seconds]. I have tried resetting the shuffle and moving the switch from shuffle to straight and the back to shuffle [page 21 of the manual] and neither make any difference.I have restored the unit a bout 3 times and it still happens.
So, why is this happening? Is there something i should be doing? Or do i need to change the shuffle? I have even used different earphones [Apple and 3rd party with Belkin Adapter] and that makes no difference either. Help and advice please

I prefer the 7th Generation Nano and Bluetooth headset. Get plugs for the heaphone and lightning jack or put it in water resistant case to prevent perspiration from killing it. You can turn off shake to shuffle in settings.
