Is this a legitimate company

On Sept 19, I placed and order for recovery disks with  http://www.thinkpadrestore.com/
I was emailed a receipt my credit card was charged.
I opted for the 2-3 day priority shipping and have heard nothing and received nothing.
My credit card says this company is out of Georgia but gives no name or other address info.
Has anyone else had dealings with this company>

does this help? It's a "whois" linux command referred to the domain you specified ...
Although, if it's a scam, anyone could have registered the domain through the godaddy.com portal ...

  • Is tech care live a legitimate company?

My friend was told by an on-line apple support person that he should contact tech care live for help in fixing a hacked computer.  Is this a legitimate company?

I wonder if your friend was actually talking to Apple. Apple computers are seldom hacked.
Did your friend call Apple or did someone call your friend saying they discovered his computer was hacked? Apple would never call--the latter is a common scam.
I can't imagine Apple referring someone to a third-party help source when there are many Apple Authorized Service providers. To me the whole thing smells of yesterday's diapers.
PS: I'm asking that your post be moved to the forum for MacBook Pros. It ended up in a  forum for pre-2006 Apple notebooks.

I have a question : Someone want sell me Creative Suite 6 MAster Collection, He is gave me the key and want me to fill in the transfer document from adobe? If I accept and pay him for this do I be eligble to use this software in company ? He is offering me full version of the product. How Can I check it ?

There is no reason to do that. You can buy a legitimate copy of the product from Adobe.
If the price is too good to be true, it's too good to be true. Caveat emptor.

  • Half a million Mac computers 'infected with malware'... is this a legitimate concern?

Received an email "Half a million Mac computers 'infected with malware' "... is this a legitimate concern?

The email itself may be suspect but the story is not:
    http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2012/04/flashback-trojan-reportedly-controls-h alf-a-million-macs-and-counting.ars
although the original source (a Russian anti-virus company ) may or may not be genuine, Ars Technica is highly respected.
As limnos says, you should disable Java (not Javascript) and also turn off 'Open safe files after downloading' in Safari Preferences/General.
    You should also read this:

  • I received another Adobe Muse 2014.3 update request. Is this a legitimate update?

I installed the original adobe muse 2014.3 update 20 days ago. This morning (3-06-2015) I had another notification of a Muse update version 2014.3. Is this a legitimate update. I received it on both my home and work computers. I am hesitant to upload. I know of a company that did an Adobe upload that completely messed up their system.

Adobe Muse Help | Release notes | Adobe Muse CC
See link above, there were a few bugs in the launch of 2014.3, this update address them.

  • I am 67 years old and need help this a disgusting company that they can't help the elderly with phone support

this a disgusting company that they can't give phone support to a 67 year old woman that doesn't understand all this giberish computer

This is a user to user forum, not Adobe support... ask a question and someone may be able to help
The information you need to provide when you ask a question is below... sorry... video editing IS fairly technical
From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
NOTE - McAfee kills the program http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1460089?tstart=0
•You MUST use an account with Administrator Privileges to run Premiere Elements
•(Doing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will sometimes fix "odd" errors)
•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 12 with the 12.0.1 update).
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac"
•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
    And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?

I received an email from Verizon telling me that my account is locked and to click on a link Verizon/security to unlock it.  Is this a legitimate email from Verizon.  How can I find out what this means?  My phone is working.

I have never heard of that before, if Verizon Wireless would do anything with your account they would be calling you (removed). In my opinion you should disregard the email.

Growl has a long development history, is popular and performs a useful function. Many of your background applications use it send messages to your screen that tell you all kinds of useful things (if you're interested). Some applications ask you if you want them to install Growl for you - you or someone using your Mac may have answered 'yes' a long time ago, or it may have occurred without your permission. In any event, you might set it uyp and give it a try for a while, I think it will grow on you. If not, just remove it.

  • Is this a legitimate Apple Support message?

I received a message from this web address:  http://westemzagros.com/mac/fp/00/mac/fp/00/file.html  stating I had used up most of my allowable storage space.Clicking on the link would allow me to resolve the issue. Before I do anything, can someone confirm this a legitimate Apple Support message?

No, it's phishing. Ignore and delete.

  • Is this a legitimate Apple number?  1-800-680-4131.

I'm getting a pop-up notice that says "Safari Alert" from www.macsystemalerts.com to the effect that I have "security issues" and "suspicious activity might have been detected" and to call 1-800-680-4131 immediately.  Is this a real Apple number?  I've never gotten anything like that from Apple before and it sounds fishy to me.  Anyone know anything about this?

PastorL5's solution below worked for me except I didn't have to restart Safari. While Safari was open, I held down the command key while pressing the W key a bunch of times. That got rid of the     Major security Issue call 800-680-4131 box     and I was able to use Safari as normal again. The problem originally occurred when I tried to watch a live tv show for free online and downloaded what appeared to be MPlayerX.dmg, but I think it was just a virus. Before I tried this solution, I had put that dmg in the trash. I don't know if I also need to remove other files from my ard drive. Does anyone else know?

Kellen, when as Safari was opening I held down Command and repeatedly hit the "W" key to close all the windows Safari had opened and it fixed it right up!
