Is this possible to run a program on one server(e.g. development server) on another server via remote log on, or any other such technique

Hi Surbhi,
RfC are remote function calls through which u can remotely access other system.
RFC
Purpose
Communication between applications of different systems in the SAP environment includes connections between SAP systems as well as between SAP systems and non-SAP systems. Remote Function Call (RFC) is the standard SAP interface for communication between SAP systems. The RFC calls a function to be executed in a remote system.
Synchronous RFC
The first version of RFC is synchronous RFC (sRFC). This type of RFC executes the function call based on synchronous communication, which means that the systems involved must both be available at the time the call is made.
Transactional RFC (tRFC)
Transactional RFC (tRFC, also originally known as asynchronous RFC) is an asynchronous communication method that executes the called function module in the RFC server only once. The remote system need not be available at the time when the RFC client program is executing a tRFC. The tRFC component stores the called RFC function, together with the corresponding data, in the SAP database under a unique transaction ID (TID).
If a call is sent, and the receiving system is down, the call remains in the local queue until a later time. The calling dialog program can proceed without waiting to see whether or not the remote call was successful. If the receiving system does not become active within a certain amount of time, the call is scheduled to run in batch.
tRFC is always used if a function is executed as a Logical Unit of Work (LUW). Within a LUW, all calls are
·         executed in the order in which they are called
·         executed in the same program context in the target system
·         run as a single transaction: they are either committed or rolled back as a unit.
Implementation of tRFC is recommended if you want to guarantee that the transactional order of the calls is preserved.
Disadvantages of tRFC
·       tRFC processes all LUWs independent of one another. Due to the amount of activated tRFC processes, this procedure can reduce performance significantly in both the send and the target systems.
·       In addition, the sequence of LUWs defined in the application cannot be kept. Therefore, there is no guarantee that the transactions are executed in the sequence dictated by the application. The only guarantee is that all LUWs are transferred sooner or later.
Queued RFC (qRFC)
To guarantee that multiple LUWs are processed in the order specified by the application, tRFC can be serialized using queues (inbound and outbound queues). This type of RFC is called queued RFC (qRFC).
qRFC is therefore an extension of tRFC. It transfers an LUW (transaction) only if it has no predecessors (in reference to the sequence defined in different application programs) in the participating queues.
Implementation of qRFC is recommended if you want to guarantee that several transactions are processed in a predefined order.
RFC: Data Transfer
All RFC types are transferred by means of CPI-C or  TCP/IP. They constitute a form of gateway communication.

  • Possible to run NXT program on PC simulate before I run it on nxt brick?

    1. Is it possible to run NXT program on PC simulate before I run it on nxt brick?  For example, NI has this program http://legoengineering.com/library/doc_download/126-play-the-scale.html so I want to run it on my PC first to check it and or modify it.  Then later I will install(compile) whatever to put it on the nxt brick.  Is there any type of simulation program or visual simulation of what I am about to put on the nxt brick before I put it on?
    2.  (a)What is the difference between Lego NXT-G 2.0 versus (b)(Labview Student edition $80.00 + NI LabVIEW Toolkit for LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT )? I am guessing no datalogging with just option b?
      (a= http://www.legoeducation.com/store/detail.aspx?CategoryID=178&by=9&ID=1670&c=1&t=0&l=0&bhcp=1 ) (b= http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4435 )
    Thank you?.

I do know of this one software where you can simulate the NXT, but it might only be for NXT-G programs.
    SimplySim at The NXT Step
Other than that I don't think there's any way.
As for the difference between the two, there's a whole ton. Those are two different programs with very different syntaxes. Lego NXT-G is the basic software that comes with the NXT kit. It's a very scaled down version of LabVIEW and is pretty nice. LabVIEW is much more advanced and you can do much more with it, but you are restricted to using the LabVIEW NXT Toolkit and the NXT's cababilities. (no float, only so much RAM, etc.). But you can still do a ton more with it. Yes, you can data log with LabVIEW in, like, many ways.
    Hope that helps!

  • Is possible to purchase the program and host it on our own server?

Is possible to purchase the program and host it on our own server?

Like so many questions, the answer is: yes... maybe.
Mac OS X Server includes a web server, so it's entirely possible (trivial, even) to create a web site on your server.
Making it available to the outside world depends a little bit on your network connection - you'll probably need to tweak your router/firewall configuration to let external connections into your server.
Then you also need to consider your network speed - remote users will be limited to the upload speed of your link - if you're on a residential link that might not be all that fast. In addition, many large ISPs restrict the running of servers on residential connections (you don't say whether your server is located on a business or residential link).
Beyond that, though there are various back-end technologies that you can use to add dynamic elements to your pages (so they're not just static HTML pages). Things like PHP, Perl, Ruby, Python and more are built in, as is MySQL if you want a databased-driven site. Some technologies are not supported, though, such as ASP. Therefore you might need to consider what dynamic content system (if any) you want to run.

  • Calling Forms 6i from Reports 6i. Is this possible. Run Product in Reports

Re: Calling Forms 6i from Reports 6i. Is this possible?
    Hello,
I have need programming in Oracle 9.x and using Forms and Reports for about 1.5 years. My ERP application calls a report from a form. I DO NOT have source code for the FORM. But, I DO have source code for the Report. So, from the Report 6i, I would like to call an Oracle Form 6i. Note: Not WEB based. My question is, IS THIS POSSIBLE. I can not find a command like Run Product in Report for calling a Form Application. Can someone please help me. I am under the gun to have this ready in a couple of days. Can I call an Active X Application from Reports..if Oracle Forms DOES NOT WORK. This needs to be a Form Application because of the nature of this request.
    Thank you
    Dennis

    Thank you
...the ERP vendor based on a form icon button will call a report. They will pass a TAG_NUMBER from a database record (that they just inserted) to the report. This tag_number will link to other tables and will display the report. The problem is ??..there is additional information that the user needs to scan into the database BEFORE the report runs. This is part of the business work flow.
    I have options.
    1) Get the ERP Vendor to call a FORM based on the name I provide to them.(Not really an option since they are unwilling to make custom mod changes.)
    2) Have the user key into the REPORTS PARM FORM. And I will update the tables...
    3) Call an Active OCX popup FORM from Reports and then update tables. Is this possible from Reports???..I am not sure if I like to introduce ms vb into an oracle application. It just does not seem to be a correct solution/procedure.
    4) Pay the ERP Vendor as a custom mod to make the changes for us. (unlikely because they do not like making custom mod changes)
    5) ....any more ideas/comments please let me know..
    Thank you Again

  • Running two programs on one screen

    Hi,
is there a possibility to run two different programs on one screen, independantly from each other. Or is this a kind of Container in which you can run a program?

You might find the methods of class CL_GUI_TIMER of interest e.g. you could kick of pair of timers and have different logic run after each returns.  Is that the sort of effect you want?

  • ** Is it possible to run a windows .bat script job from ODI between server?

    Hello Friends,
We have ODI 10.1.3.5 on a Win2003 Server.
Have a windows Batch script job .bat(this is a related to a different program - DRM) on a different Windows 2003 server...is it possible to execute .bat job thru ODI between servers?
    Appreciate your suggestions...
    Thanks.

    Hi AJ,
    Here are more details:
    Server-A: ODI Server (Win2003)
    Server-B: Oracle DRM Server (Win2003)
Server-C: ODI scheduler agent is installed (Linux)
We have a .bat batch script job on Server-B which we are planning to run from Server-A (as part of the ODI package execution flow)
This .bat job exports the DRM hierarchy data to a table that ODI uses to process next steps.
So, you are suggesting to install ODI agent on Server-B? If we do that...not sure if there be issues if we have to run the package with other scenario's (interfaces/Procedures) that refer agent isntalled in Server-C??
    Any feedbacks are appreciated!!
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to run iTunes 10 on one account on my computer but iTunes 9 on another?

I want to get an iPhone but I don't want to have to update to iTunes 10, which I know I would need to do in order to manage my iPhone. I don't like iTunes 10 because I can't expand my album artwork to a large enough of size in column browser view. I switched to iTunes 10 when it came out, was aggravated by this, searched for solutions, and eventually swtiched back to iTunes 9. If I had to choose between having an iPhone and having large album artwork in column browser view I would choose the artwork- it's very important to me. Basically I want to know if i can set up a separate account on my computer that has iTunes 10 and manage my iPhone from there while keeping iTunes 9 on my main account. I don't want to download iTunes 10 on the separate account and find out that it updated both accounts because switching back to iTunes 9 was a pain in the neck. Is this possible?

Create a separate iTunes library for each device. Note: It is important that you make a new iTunes Library file. Do not just make a copy of your existing iTunes Library file. If iTunes is open, quit it.
Mac users: Hold down the Option key while you open iTunes.
Windows users: Hold down the Shift key while you open iTunes.
In the dialog that appears, click Create Library.
Name and save the alternate library file. iTunes opens with your brand new library file.
Open iTunes Preferences. Choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (Windows).
    Click the Advanced tab.
Deselect the "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" checkbox if it is already selected and click OK. This will prevent iTunes from creating duplicates of your existing media files in the new library folder.
Add the specific media files you want on your device to iTunes either by dragging them into iTunes or choosing File > Add to Library (Mac) or File > Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library (Windows).
Once you have the iTunes Library just how you want it, connect and sync your device.
Once the sync is complete, quit iTunes.
Mac users: Hold down the Option key while you open iTunes.
Windows users: Hold down the Shift key while you open iTunes.
    Click Choose library.
Choose your original iTunes Library and click Choose (Mac Users) or Open (Windows Users). You can now switch back and forth between the different libraries for different devices."

    Hi ,
This is a sort of performance issue , because your program takes more than the max time set for the program to execute in foreground.
There are many stuff in program which will hamper your performance.
I will list down a few
    1. SELECT *
    FROM konp
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE konp_itab
    FOR ALL ENTRIES IN a363_itab
    WHERE knumh EQ a363_itab-knumh
in this statement you are using for all entries a363_itab , but before this statement you are not checking if the table has any entry or not , please do remember that for all entries has this characterstic , that if you internal table does not contain any record , then all the records are selected from the database table. So in this case if you table a363_itab is empty , so what you want is no data must be seelcted from table konp , but what will happen is all the records in KONP will be seelcted.
    2. While retreiving data you are using seelct * even though you do not require all the fields , an example is
    <b>SELECT *
    FROM mkpf
INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE mkpf_itab
    FOR ALL ENTRIES IN mseg_itab
    WHERE mblnr EQ mseg_itab-mblnr.</b>
in this your internal table contains only 2 fields
<b>mblnr LIKE mkpf-mblnr, "Number of Material Document
bldat LIKE mkpf-bldat, "Document Date in Document</b> , but to get these 2 fields you are selecting all the fields of the table.
    3. In select you are using into corresponding fields of table , it is not a good practice., so please avoidd it.
Please understand that you must try to reduce the access to your database tables and try to keep it minimal , because this same thing may happen becasue data in DEV is very less compared to the volume of data in production , so a program working in DEV will take much more time in PRD if not written properly and may result in timeouts , as in your case.
Please try to make chanegs to the prorgam and see if it works.
In case you have more queries , please do revert back.
    Regards
    Arun

  • Is it possible to run custom programs using the Lion recovery partition ?

I understand that it is now possible to get the Recovery Partition onto a USB drive such as a Flash Drive.
What I want to do is create/copy some tools, and dump them on the recovery flash drive, boot up and execute them.
This will also be helpful for some 3rd party firmware updates, such as SSD drives, as we cannot update the firmware on a SSD if we boot from it,
and are forced to try to create Linux/Windows boot drives to install such updates (eg OCZ Vertex 2 SSD).
I figure I could try to cheat, and replace one of the Apple Tools with another program and hope it works, but I would rather not do this.
Ideally, would just like to be able to run a Terminal Shell, and run whatever commands I want.
    Cheers

You can have more than one partition on your flash drive. Use one for the Apple Recovery Disk Assistant (which will be hidden after it is installed). Use the other(s) for whatever you need as required.

  • Is it possible to run 2 programs that need different versions of a library?

    Hi,
    I have the following situation.
    Tomcat 5.0 Server.
Program A is running on server, and needs axis 1.1 as a library.
Program B is running on the same server, and needs axis 1.4 as a library.
Axis 1.1 and 1.4 are not backwards compatible... if I just put 1.1 on it.. program B won't work.. If I just put 1.4 on it, program A won't work.
Tomncat doesn't seem to like having the same jar loaded in twice.
How do I make this all work? I really don't want to have to try to manually convert a large application from using 1.1 to 1.4 or vice versa, want to try to make them both work...

  • Is it possible to run a program in compatibility mode?

I am running 10.7.3, and I am trying to get Mackie Tracktion 3 up and running on my Mac. I've been told tha T3 works on previous version of the Mac OS, but not the last few updates. Is there any way that I can run this program in a compatibility mode, or revert my OS to a version that supports T3? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but that's most likely a problem that Mackie is going to have to help you with. Since the application launches, it's not an issue of the application being PowerPC-only, which has affected many people who've moved to Lion. Mackie's support site is very limited and uninformative, so I can't find any useful suggestions. You might have more luck in Mackie's forums:
    http://www.mackie.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/
    Good luck.

  • How to run two programs with one PC and two monitors

I have a requirement to run a parallel loop and update the progress in two monitors with one computer.
For ex: its a two test stage, the process and progress of the 1st stage needs to displayed in monitor1 and similarly for 2nd stage to monitor 2 with program running with one computer.Would it be possible to do that.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Parker,
yes, it's possible. You also have properties to set windows to specific monitors...

  • Run C program compiled for Linux on Mac x11?

    Hi,
Is it possible to run a c-code program compiled for Linux on x11? If this is not possible, is there a way to have a linux platform runninn os 10.6.8 so I can use these programs?
I knew little about Linux or X11, so I don't know if it is possible or how to recompile the program for x11.
    Thanks!

Linux compile code will not run on Mac OS X, and even if you violated the Mac OS X license to run Mac OS X in virtual machine on top of Linux, the Mac environment would still not run the Linux program.  The Linux program needs to run on Linux.
If your Linux program is X11 based, then it is possible to run the program on Linux and have the output displayed on your Mac.   Start an Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal session, and run the command
    ssh -Y [email protected]
    LinuxPrompt> run_your_Linux_program
The ssh -Y will establish an X11 DISPLAY tunnel between your Mac and the Linux system.  When you run an X11 based app on the Linux system via this ssh session, the X11 display output will be sent back to the Mac.
NOTE:  Many Open Source programs have Mac OS X ports.  Sometimes there are actual Mac OS X binaries, and sometimes you have to build them yourself.  There are also services that will do the heavy lifting of installing a ported Open Source app, such as MacPorts.org and FinkProject.org

  • Two operating systems in one computer - Running a program

    Hi.
I have just installed two operating systems in my Thinkpad: windows 8 and windows 7. Is that possible to run a program, say Photoshop, MS Office, installed in windows 8 OS while I am running windows 7? I do not want to reinstall all the programs in windows 8 when using windows 7 because they are still in the same computer.
I tried to clicked on a program (from W8 Program x86). It asks for serial keys. I entered but it said that i do not have sufficient priviledge???
    One more question:
I have an external hard drive. Is that possible when I install a program on that external hard drive, instead of internal hard drive, and run from that external hard drive? I mean: I install a program on external hard drive, then run that program in external HD from other computer?
I hope to have your insight solutions for this problem.
    Thank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Basically all more advanced programs cannot be run this way. They utilize registry entries, app data, environment variables etc. hence are tied to the OS they are installed on.
Some simple applications, which don't require to be installed or have a portable version will work. This list does not include Office or Photoshop.
The answer for the external hard drive is the same. You'll need a "portable" application, which doesn't store any OS or user specific information.
You can look here http://portableapps.com/ for applications that are not tied to an OS.

  • I want to install Snow Leopard Server on our MacPro (2.66) using Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server disks?  I kept getting an error for backwards compatibility.   Is this possible or do I need to purchase another copy of Snow Leopard Server?

I want to install Snow Leopard Server on our MacPro(2.66) using Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server disks?  I kept getting an error for backwards compatibility.   Is this possible or do I need topurchase another copy of Snow Leopard Server?

The OS disks that are shipped with a particular product
are set up so that tey will only install on that product.
It will install on any Mini of that exact vintage, but that
    is all.
This is to prevent people from doing exactly what you
are trying to do.  The license for OSX shipped with any
is only valid for that product.  Also, Snow Leopard,
including Server, is only permitted to be run on one
computer at a time.  Bottom line, unlike Lion, legally
you cannot install the same copy on multiple
computers unless some "family pack" or site license
    is purchased.
Yes, you need to purchase another copy.
The copy of Snow Leopard license is here:
