ISE 1.3 px grid
I am planning to upgrade to ISE 1.3 and learn that we have a new persona pxgrid. Can any one pls tell what pxgrid exactly does and any implementation advise will be very helpful
Cisco pxGrid Services
Cisco pxGrid is used to enable the sharing of contextual-based information from Cisco ISE session directory to other policy network systems such as Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA). The pxGrid framework can also be used to exchange policy and configuration data between nodes like sharing tags and policy objects between ISE and third party vendors, and for non-ISE related information exchanges such as threat information. You can enable the pxGrid Services from the Administration > Deployment page.
Cisco pxGrid Identity Mapping
The pxGrid Identity Mapping option enables you to monitor users that are authenticated by a Domain Controller (DC) and not by Cisco ISE, when Cisco pxGrid services are used. In networks where Cisco ISE does not actively authenticate users for network access, it is possible to use Identity Mapping to collect user authentication information from the active directory (AD) Domain Controller. Identity Mapping collects session information from the domain controller similar to Context Directory Agent (CDA). For more information on CDA, refer to Installation and Configuration Guide for Context Directory Agent.
You can configure Identity Mapping by navigating to Administration > pxGrid Identity Mapping > AD Domain Controllers.

(Comments are now closed)1. Without more specifics it is hard to determine actual issue. It may be possible that if configured in same subnet that asymmetric traffic caused connections to fail. A key enhancement in ISE 1.3 is to make sure traffic received on a given interface is sent out same interface.
2. Common use cases for using different interfaces include separation of management traffic from user traffic such as web portal access or to support dedicated profiling interfaces. For example, you may want employees to use a different interface for sponsor portal access. For profiling, you may want to use a specific interface for HTTP SPAN traffic or possibly configure IP Anycast to simplify reception and redundancy of DHCP IP Helper traffic. Another use case is simple NIC redundancy.
a. Management traffic is restricted to eth0, but standalone node will also have PSN persona so above use cases can apply for interfaces eth1-eth3.
b. For dedicated PAN / MnT nodes it usually does not make sense to configure multiple interfaces although ISE 1.3 does add support for SNMP on multiple interfaces if needed to separate out. It may also be possible to support NIC redundancy but I need to do some more testing to verify.
For PSNs, NIC redundancy for RADIUS as well as the other use cases for separate profiling and portal services apply.
Regarding Supplicant Provisioning issue, the flows are the same whether wireless or wired. The same identity stores are supported as well. The key difference is that wireless users are directed to a specific auth method based on WLAN configuration and Cisco wired switches allow multiple auth methods to be supported on same port.
If RADIUS Proxy is required to forward requests to a foreign RADIUS server, then decision must be made based on basic RADIUS attributes or things like NDG. ISE does not terminate the authentication requests and that is handled by foreign server. ISE does support advanced relay functions such as attribute manipulation, but recommend review with requirements with local Cisco or partner security SE if trying to implement provisioning for users authenticated via proxy. Proxy is handled at Authentication Policy level. CWA and Guest Flow is handled in Authorization Policy. If need to authenticate a CWA user via external RADIUS, then need to use RADIUS Token Server, not RADIUS Proxy.
A typical flow for a wired user without 802.1X configured would be to hit default policy for CWA. Based on successful CWA auth, CoA is triggered and user can then match a policy rule based on guest flow and CWA user identity (AD or non-AD) and returned an authorization for NSP.
Regarding AD multi-domain support...
Under ISE 1.2, if need to authenticate users across different forests or domains, then mutual trusts must exist, or you can use multiple LDAP server definitions if the EAP protocol supports LDAP. RADIUS Proxy is another option to have some users authenticated to different AD domains via foreign RADIUS server.
Under ISE 1.3, we have completely re-architected our AD connector and support multiple AD Forests and Domains with or without mutual trusts.
When you mention the use of RADIUS proxy, it is not clear whether you are referring to ISE as the proxy or another RADIUS server proxying to ISE. If you had multiple ISE deployments, then a separate RADIUS Server like ACS could proxy requests to different ISE 1.2 deployments, each with their own separate AD domain connection. If ISE is the proxy, then you could have some requests being authenticated against locally joined AD domain while others are sent to a foreign RADIUS server which may have one or more AD domain connections.
In summary, if the key requirement is ability to join multiple AD domains without mutual trust, then very likely ISE 1.3 is the solution. Your configuration seems to be a bit involved and I do not want to provide design guidance on a paper napkin, so recommend consult with local ATP Security SE to review overall requirements, topology, AD structure, and RADIUS servers that require integration.

Problem when printing icons of an ALV grid
I made an Alv grid report that has some icons.When i printed i don't see the icons but isee some characters ...
What can i do ?

Logical Profiles in ISE 1.2.1
I´m having trouble understanding the Logical Profiles.

You can use the logical profile in an authorization policy condition to help create an overall network access policy for a category of profiles. You can create a simple condition for authorization, which can be included in the authorization rule. The attribute-value pair that you can use in the authorization condition is the logical profile (attribute) and the name of the logical profile (value), which can be found in the EndPoints systems dictionary.
so I thought that meant that I can group Different Profiles (Apple Iphone, Ipad, Ipod) together into a logical group e.g. "BYOD_Idevice" and use this logical profile in the Authorization.
But I can´t choose this freshly created Logical Group in the Authorization Condition. As for the fact, I can´t choose this logical group ANYWHERE.
Leaning back and thinking about it - it somehow makes sense. In the Authorization, you don´t pick Profiles, you choose Identity endpoints. So whats the point about the logical profiles? I was hoping to clean/lean up my authorization rules with them. But for what would I use them else?
Or is this a bug in ise 1.2.1? Not sure if I should call tac about this, or if I´m just not getting it :D

So yes, you are correct, the logical profiles would allow you to group different type of dynamically profiled devices and then reference that profile in your authorization rules. However, you won't see those logical profiles under the "Identity Group Details" section. You will need to leave that field blank. Instead, you need to look in the "second" condition box: expression > Endpoint > LogicalProfile

Can not see the data in the grid

in the data grid - the <data> rider is not clickable.

This problem has appeared in a few other threads. It's caused by installing Release 2 Raptor over Release 1 Raptor without first deinstalling Release 1 Raptor . So what you need to do is:
1) Back up any important Raptor files, e.g. connections etc.
2) Remove the existing Raptor Rel 1 installation folder
3) Install Raptor Rel 2

I need vendor wise open items and cleared items in ALV Grid format in excel sheet.
I'm Trying that in T Code FBL1N, After the execution. I had select ALV Grid format like this From the menu bar->Settings-> Switch list.
After that i get ALV Grid format, Then i'm doing export the data to excel sheet. like this From the Menu bar->List->Export->Spread sheet.
That time i'm getting Error Message no. 0K064, Filter criteria, sorting, totals and subtotals are not taken into account.
I want vendor wise sorting totals and subtotals,
How can i over come this Error please let me now.

ALV Totals , Subtotals for a particular field in ALV Grid report
Hi,
I have an issue in ALV totals and subtotals.
Scenario is like this.
i have a vendor data to be pulled out of SAP and to be shown in the form of report.
i am populating all the data and doing do_sum based on Vendor ( has expansin & collapse option ) and display the number of reports .

but my problem is in the same report i have a date field .
if i have a five vendors created on 03/03/2008. in the same report for the date field having ( expansion & collapse ) , when i expand based on that date can i be able to sum up all the vendors created on 03/03/2008 and display in the same report along with the vendor count.

i have two classes.

I'm passing a List<Users> to the data provider of a
data grid . I can display the values of properties of Users i.e,
name and age.. My issue is how do i display the value of city which
is a propertyt of Address class in the datagrid column..

Try labelFunction property of the DataGridColumn.
labelFunction allow you to specify a function name, which will be
invoked when that data is rendered. You will get the Object (User
id your case) corresponding the row being rendered will be passed
as argument to the function. You can use the object and return the
value you want to be displayed.

In my report I have selected 2 rows where I have selected @descendants of ccounts from one database which is FIN QA and in the second row I have selected @children of Accounts from another database which is FINDEF QA. I am using only ONE GRID here.
Is it not possibe to run a FR report by select members from multiple databases in a single grid??

Also there are few limitations namely:
Database connections must be of the same type (for example, both must be Essbase database connections or both must be Financial Management database connections).
Mismatched number of dimensions in the database connections may cause retrieval errors.

Error while attaching to cache grid - 3399

I am getting following error in cache grid operation –
3399: The recorded information indicates that there are other attached members of the grid but this member failed to communicate any of them
Let me tell you what I am trying to achieve
I have two hosts 1 and 2, host 1 and host 2 should be a part of cachegrid. Oracle DB (Persistent DB) is shared with both hosts and is at host 1. Host 2 have access to Oracle on Host 1 (I can do sqlplus from host 2 to host 1's Oracle DB)
Steps I followed are -
Host 1 – (Contains IMDB as well as Persistent DB )

The error indicates that host2 couldn't communicate with the attached data store on host1. Can you try to get more information?
1. ttStatus output of the attached data store on host1.
2. On host2, can you try to ping "some IP address"?
Besides, I noticed some inconsistency in your script. When you were attaching the first data store, you invoked:
call ttGridAttach(1,'alone1','*host*',5001);
But ttGridNodeStatus showed "*host1*" instead of "*host*".

I am trying to setup a new GRID Standalone Infrastructure on a previously installed Oracle 11g database.
It runs all fine but when prompts to run the root.sh script it does not allow to proceed as it prompts to overwrite the existing path for /usr/bin/local
well, I google'd and tried with overwrite : Y . It prompted to run the script but it failed ...

How to install OEM Grid Control R2 on RHEL AS4 (AMD64/EM64T)
Hi all,
I was able to install the Oracle Application Server (Infrastructure and BI and Forms) successfully on the another machine with the same specs. The application I installed on the 64-bit machine is a 32-bit Oracle Application Server.
Now, I tried to install the OEM Grid Control R2 (another 32-bit Oracle Software) on an identical 64-bit machine but had no luck. Ran linux32 bash before trying the install.
I always get the error "error in invoking target 'dm_on ioracle' of makefile 'OH/db10g/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk".
Please help me/guide me in this install if it is at all possible.

BUT, I'm not really sure, whether this is a good (correct) design. The report works the following way:
1. Read planning data form text file into internal table
2. Display the internal table
3. Convert the data and display the converted result
4. Post the converted data to the system
5. Display log with messages
The main thing is, I would like to know, do i really need two dynros, to display the two different internal tables or is it possible just to use one ALV-Grid? I was not able to find another solution. Any comment or help to the report is appreciated.
