ISE 1.3 Sponsored "Known Guest" emailing credentials issue

Just ran into an issue with ISE 1.3 email notifications and was hoping that I might have overlooked a setting.
Basically if I create a self-registered guest ISE will send an email to both the listed sponsor and a confirmation email to the guest with credentials – this works fine. Furthermore I can go to the sponsor portal and click the self registered user then resend the credentials – this also works.
My problem is when I create a "known guest" user from the sponsor portal. Basically I create the account and hit the notify button, select email and click ok – ISE then throws an error saying unable to send email. I click the user and click resend and likewise I cannot send an email.
So in summary email notifications work for self registered guest type but not a known guest type.

Fixed the issue. I did some debugging and looking through logs and found that there is a bug. Basically you need to enable the sponsor to select the language dictionary for email notifications and it fixes the issue.
It is under the customisation section of the relevant sponsor portal under settings of known guest

  • ISE Guest Self-Service Emailing Credentials

    Hi Guys,
    Is it possible to setup the ISE to automatically send a self-service guest their credentials via email once they've registered as appose to simply showing them onscreen ?
    I know it's possible to do so once they've registered through the sponsor portal, but the customer would like it done by default.
    Thanks,
    Nick

    This is not currently supported.  I am including a link to the feature enhancement request for your reference:

  • ISE Guest Email Notification (Guest account creation)

    When a guest user creates an account in ISE, it sends a system generated email with the username/password. It says "Welcome to the Guest Portal, your username ise xxx and password is yyy." Is there anywhere in ISE (1.2) to change this text, especially the name 'Guest Portal'? I thought it was in language templates > Configure Miscellaneous Items > Portal Name. But I changed this to the portal name, and it was not reflected in the email. Thanks.

    Josh,
    Right now, it's pretty limited.  Here is the template to be used for formatting the email notifications:
    E-Mail Notification Template
    The following is an example of the login information for the body of an e-mail in an English language template:
    Welcome to the Guest Portal, your username is $username$ and password is $password$
    The $username$ and $password$ strings will be replaced with the username and password values from the Guest User account.
    In the e-mail body, you can use special variables to provide the details for the created guest account. When  using these variables, you must use all uppercase or all lowercase  letters, and you cannot mix them. For example, the string for username  can be either $USERNAME$ or $username%, but it cannot be $UserName$.
    You can use these variables in the e-mail notification template:
    •$USERNAME$ = The username created for the guest.
    •$PASSWORD$ = The password created for the guest.
    •$STARTTIME$ = The time from which the guest account will be valid.
    •$ENDTIME$ = The time at which the guest account will expire.
    •$FIRSTNAME$ = The first name of the guest.
    •$LASTNAME$ = The last name of the guest.
    •$EMAIL$ = The e-mail address of the guest.
    •$TIMEZONE$ = The time zone of the user.
    •$MOBILENUMBER$ = The mobile number of the guest.
    •$OPTION1$ = Optional field for editing.
    •$OPTION2$ = Optional field for editing.
    •$OPTION3$ = Optional field for editing.
    •$OPTION4$ = Optional field for editing.
    •$OPTION5$ = Optional field for editing.
    •$DURATION$ = Duration of time for which the account will be valid.
    •$RESTRICTEDWINDOW$ = The time window during which the guest is not allowed to log in.
    •$TIMEPROFILE$ = The name of the time profile assigned.
    This dicument is found here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ise/1.2/user_guide/ise_custom_portals.html#wp1015657
    ISE v1.3 should have some improvements and quite possibly some HTML tags.

  • ISE 1.3 Sponsor Portal mandatory fields

    Hello,
    in the ISE 1.2 version it was possible to say that some fields are mandatory like first name or company.
    I cannot find this setting in the ISE 1.3 version.
    Regards
    filip

    Leoni,
    These settings are found by going to Guest Access > Configure.  Select Sponsor Portals and choose the Sponsor Portal in which you are working.  Click Portal Page Customization
    Once there, select your Guest Type.  I chose Create Account for Known Guests.  Then choose Settings over the preview image.

  • ICloud flags known good email as junk!

    For the past few months, iCloud mail has frequently flagged known good email as junk. In all cases, the messages that are flagged are from correspondents who have been sending me messages for years without any problem. Now, all of a sudden, iCloud thinks these messages are junk—and continues to flag them as junk no matter how many times I tell iCloud that they are "not junk".
    I also see that Apple offers iCloud tech support only to those whose computers are still in warranty. What's with that?! No email support, no nothing.
    Suggestions appreciated.

    - Add the thumbs down button to your mail toolbar as other commenters have noted (View>Customize Toolbar).
    - Open your junk mail folder and find one of the messages that should not have been marked as junk.
    - Hit the "Thumbs Down" button.
    - A banner will appear at the top of the message preview window that says "You marked this a junk mail."
    - In that banner will be a "Not Junk" button.
    Contrary to Apple's principle, this is not very intuitive, and it places the blame/responsibility for the mis-categorization back on the user ("YOU marked..."). However, this method does work to keep future messages like the ones you've unmarked from landing in your Junk folder.

  • NCS and non US keyboard layout - Guest - Email ID and @

    Problem:
    The problem is that we cannot email the Guest Account Details to the guest, because the popup where we fill in the email of the guest - Email ID - Does not recognise the @ when using non US Keyboard layout.
    When i use my local keyboard layout (Danish) and press AltGr+2 (this is the keyboard "shortcut" for @) it writes nothing.
    When i switch to US keyboard layout and press Shift+2 it writes @ fine.
    Version:
    Tried this in both 1.0 and I just upgraded to 1.1 and it is still the same.
    Does anyone know of a open BugID that addresses the following problem on the NCS Lobby Ambasador page ?

    Thomas,
    Have you tried it from different machines and different OSes and confirmed that the common denominator is NCS and not your specific KB/OS setup?

  • ISE to do wireless network guest access services

    Hi Forumers'
    I need to know how WLC can support ISE guest management in wireless mode.
    Tested and confirm by Cisco SE, Knowing that WLC currently does not support dynamic VLAN authorization for central web authentication. This limitation will be addressed in WLC 7.2 when MAB and CWA support is added to the code. On the other hand, DACLs on the other hand works and we can use that to restrict access of this guest traffic.
    So, option now is
    1. Can ISE support on WLC LWA guest access provision? This able to view guest user login and show at ISE monitoring.
    thanks
    Noel

    What you don't have at the moment with ISE and WLC is :
    -dynamic vlan asisgnement for webauth
    -the double-authentication (provoked by Radius CoA) required for central web authentication.
    For the rest, all is ok I think. So Local web authentication is supported. Either the webauth is handled by the WLC or you configured it as external on the WLC and the ISE acts as a guest portal.
    Guest users will be the guests you create on ISE, monitoring will happen etc ...

  • New document: How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems

    Have you ever had problems with PDF attachments sent from Adobe Reader for iOS using Share > E-mail Document?
    You may find this document useful to avoid the problems.
    How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems
    Please let us know if you have encountered different types of problems with PDF attachments.  We can look for solutions or workarounds for you.

    Unfortunately, we (Adobe Reader mobile team) do not know if/when Apple will fix the attachment problems (software defects) in Apple Mail.
    In particular, the attachment problem with Microsoft Outlook (See Problem #2 in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems) appears to be a long-standing defect that has been known for years.  However, Apple has not provided any fix for Apple Mail yet.
    Adobe Reader for iOS merely launches Apple Mail (the default mail app on iOS) to send a PDF document as an attachment.  Adobe Reader has no control over whether or not to embed a preview image of an attachment in the body of an email message, which is known to cause the problem with Microsoft Outlook (on the receiving side).  The same problem happens when you send a single-page PDF document as an attachment along with an email signature from Apple iBooks on iOS.
    For now, all iPad/iPhone users can do is to avoid the problems by using the workarounds that are described in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems.
    When new and different problems with PDF attachments are reported by Adobe Reader for iOS users, we will update the document above.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Email notification issue in some schemas

    Hi,
    My problem is almost identical as here DBMS_SCHEDULER send email notification issue
    One privileged scheduler user - user1 receive email notifications while two another (user2, user3) no.
    More plot is below i know 'what' resolve the problem but don't know how to do it :-)
    I want to execute code below on user3 schema, we tried this successfully on user2 (code executed directly on schema with temporary sys.dbms_aq access) so he receive his notifications.
    Problem is - we do not have direct access to second account (user3) how to execute this code as user3 ?
    declare
      reginfo1    sys.aq$_reg_info;
      reginfolist sys.aq$_reg_info_list;
    begin
      reginfo1    := sys.aq$_reg_info('SYS.SCHEDULER$_EVENT_QUEUE:SCHED$_AGT2$_X',
                                      1,
                                      'plsql://SYS.SCHEDULER$_JOB_EVENT_HANDLER',
                                      null);
      reginfolist := sys.aq$_reg_info_list(reginfo1);
      dbms_aq.register(reginfolist, 1);
    end;
    Already tried create procedure on user3 and execute immediate annonymous block but it still register with USER# 1 not 3 in  DBA_QUEUE_SUBSCRIBERS.
    More detailed plot:
    Jobs for user2 and user3 was created by user1, so JOB_CREATOR was user1 but OWNER was user2 or user3.
    We started with notifications configuration witch was ended with error on both user2 and user3 accounts:
    ORA-24093: AQ agent SCHED$_AGT2$_XX not granted privileges of database user1
    W get rid wit this using
    dbms_aqadm.enable_db_access(SCHED$_AGT2$_2, user1);
    dbms_aqadm.enable_db_access(SCHED$_AGT2$_3, user1);
    So user1 get privilege on agents for user2 and user3
    I believe error was already there because DBMS_SCHEDULER.add_job_email_notification is more automatic it probably registered subscriber that belongs to user2 and user3 with wrong USER# ID that belongs to user1.
    Database is 11.2.0.3

    it doesn't work because notifications are set from user1 account so USER# is still 1 even when I removed record first.
    This is my aproach based on Ask Tom: On Becoming Others, Limits, and Restoration
    >sqlplus user1

    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    SQL> grant execute on sys.dbms_aq to user1;

    User altered.
    SQL> connect user1[user3]

    Connected.
    SQL> create or replace procedure sched_not_add_q as
      2    reginfo1    sys.aq$_reg_info;
      3    reginfolist sys.aq$_reg_info_list;
      4  begin
      5    reginfo1    := sys.aq$_reg_info('SYS.SCHEDULER$_EVENT_QUEUE:SCHED$_AGT2$_3',
      6                                    1,
      7                                    'plsql://SYS.SCHEDULER$_JOB_EVENT_HANDLER',
      8                                    null);
      9    reginfolist := sys.aq$_reg_info_list(reginfo1);
    10    dbms_aq.register(reginfolist, 1);
    11  end;
    12  /
    Procedure created.
    SQL> exec sched_not_add_q;
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> drop procedure sched_not_add_q;
    Procedure dropped.
    SQL> connect user1
    Connected.
    SQL> revoke execute on sys.dbms_aq from user3;
    Revoke succeeded.
    SQL> alter user user3 revoke connect through user1;
    User altered.

    So it works now.

  • Email password issues

    Why am i having email password issues? This is the email from [email protected] "Your account (email) could not be authenticated. If you have recently changed your email password, please enter the most current password in settings to continue receiving emails. You can enter the password 100 times a day and still will not receive emails.
    Anyone have an answer?

    Delete and re-add the account.  I just had the same thing happen, and that fixed it.  I think it was some error on Verizon's end.

    I changed my ID due to an email accessibility issue and I lost access to all my purchased music for the last few years.  Been browsing through the support area and it seems like everyone is saying I will have to rebuy everything.  Is this really true?
    Apple has to be more user friendly than to let something like this happen, right?

    Did you change the ID, or did you create a new Apple ID? If you had simply changed the ID then what I suggested above should work as the ID itself is the same (even though the name of the ID - the address - has changed).
    However if you created a new ID, logged in with that, and purchased items on it, then you have two separate IDs each with purchased associated with them. You say that you can't log in to the original account with the 'alternate' email - have you tried logging in with the original email address? It doesn't matter if it doesn't actually work to receive mail, as far as logging in is concerned it's just a text string.

  • Email sync issues

    I'm having email sync issues & can't find a solution that fixes my problem.  Tried everything I've been able to find, including ensuring Sync function is enabled in multiple locations, disabling then reenabling sync features, powering my phone off/on, even resetting the battery. Received the NK1 update on 11 Dec. Not sure if that's when the problems started or not, as I've been busy, but that's seems about the time things stopped sync'ing properly. Am using the email app that comes with the phone (an S4 mini), and have 3 email accounts, cox.net, and 2 aol accts.  The cox & 1 of the aol accts won't sync, but the other aol acct does sync.  The one that is working I have set to not auto sync, & the manual sync works. Not so on the other two ... the sync app says they are sync'd, but the email app says they haven't been sync'd in like 2-3 days, even tho I've sync'd them multiple times today. Get a continually circling busy / working symbol.  Get new email on desktop computer without issues. After a few days, the other two accts will sync up.

    CSForest,
    From time-to-time I have had this issue with the default email app.  Have you checked to see that the app is synched?  When it happens with my S4, there is a message at the bottom of the screen saying the app isn't synched.  Try this: pull down the status bar and click on the icon at the far right.  This will open all the functions available on the status bar.  Make sure 'Synch' is on.  For some reason, this function on my phone gets turned off without me doing it.  KarenC suggested using another email app.  As a backup, I use K-9 Mail.  I really like this app.
    I hope this helps.

  • ICloud OS X email setup issue

    Hi need some help with an iCloud email setup issue that doesn’t seem to have been covered by other posts or the Apple help factsheets.
    Used my old mac.com Apple ID to set up an iCloud account which now shows as having my iMac as a linked device. To use iCloud Mail was prompted to create a new email address which I could do by turning on Mail in iCloud settings.
    I signed into iCloud via my iMac and having deselected default options to use iCloud for Contacts etc arrived at the account page which has the various options on the RHS and my mac.com ID info on the left.
    Ticked the Mail option on the RHS was asked to “choose an iCloud email address” underneath the box where you enter the chosen email address was a note saying “you cannot change your email address after creating it”. When I tried to  set up the new iCloud email address got a prompt saying “you cannot change your email address after creating it”.
    Help!

    You need to know Comcast's settings for incoming and outgoing server when setting up your OSX Mail app. The info should be somewhere on Comcast's help web page.

  • NAC guest server and guest proxy filtering issue.

    Hi all
    Continuing our issues log for the NAC guest server install, our toplogy and issue is as follows:
    We have a guest NAC server and a 4404 anchor controller successfully deployed in the DMZ, the anchor WLC has a mobilty anchor which is a WISM on the corporate network, DHCP services for guest clients are issued with no problems from the WLC in the DMZ. The first port of the DMZ controller is located on the DMZ and the second port directly connects to the firewall interface.
    All works correctly, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP etc all work fine through the firewall.
    What options do I have to filter Internet access in this scenario, we have Websense and Nokia firewalls, don't think I can use WCCP as I have nowhere to place it, the second connection on the WLC is directly connected to the firewal so nowhere to intercept the traffic, our security team has tried some tricks on the Nokia to try to redirect the traffic on the firewall using a type of redirect, WPAD, I can't see as an option. Any ideas. If I place the second interface into the DMZ, could I use WCCP that way maybe, but won't traffic still have to go to the firewall??
    options please ??

    Well you will need to use a 3rd party certificate..  Here is a link to generate and install a 3rd party certificate on the WLC for the use with Web-Auth:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_configuration_example09186a00806e367a.shtml
    Here is a link for the NGS:
    http://tools.cisco.com/search/display?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cisco.com%2Fen%2FUS%2Fdocs%2Fsecurity%2Fnac%2Fappliance%2Fconfiguration_guide%2F410%2Fcas%2Fcas41ug.pdf&pos=1&strqueryid=2&websessionid=RK88fQNWy8TCDUakpNGLOqZ
    The applicances are using a self generated Cisco certificate which of course is not a trusted certificate store in most of all operating systems.  So using a 3rd party certificate like RapidSSL, Verisign, etc will eliminate the certificate issue.
