Issue in deployment of External JDBC drivers

Hi
This is the case for deploying external drivers for Oracle DB.
After adding classes12.jar and provided entry in provider.xml file in aii_af_jmsproviderlib.sda file, tried to deploy the application. But it was giving error like
Manifest attributes are missing or have badly formatted value: attribute keylocation is missing attribute keyname is missing.........
But while adding jar file we know that needn't update manifest file rather just update of provider.xml file only.
Please advice me what needs to be done to deploy safely.

Hi Prateek
I have followed the following SDN-blog
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70ffd890-0201-0010-708f-d5dad2dfcf3a
But I didn't make any changes to meta-inf file. That remains same. Then how come error relating to attributes in Meta file?
Please advice me.

  • Appropriate JDBC drivers for 7.0 version and SP16

    Hi all
we are using XI 7.0 SP 16.
what type/verion of JDBC drivers should be used for database connectivity?
while i was going through "How to install external JDBC Drivers" it was suggesting to use
    Oracle 9i and Oracle 10g:
    ojdbc14.jar
    u2022 Microsoft SQL Server:
    msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar
(in screen shots  as well it was showing he was using msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar and ojdbc14.jar)
should we use both ojdbc14.jar and msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar or else one of them would be sufficient?
Is OJDBC a type 4 and type 2 driver?
    Full Points are guaranteed
    Regards
    Bhasker

    Hi,
You have to use ojdbc14.jar or classes12.zip/.jar for Oracle and msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar for Microsoft SQL Server. Thus both are required to be deployed on J2EE server.
And Oracle JDBC is a type 4 driver.

  • Oracle10g Jdbc Drivers issue with EJB on Weblogic 7

    Hi there,
We are facing a critical issue on production environment related to Oracle jdbc drivers.
We have a J2EE application with swing client. We are using MVC framework where client calls go to stateless session bean which redirect it to specific POJO which then uses Entity Beans for persistence.
    We have following environment.
    JDK1.4.2, Weblogic 7 with SP5, Oracle10g on AIX 5.2
Now the problem is that we were using Oracle 8 jdbc driver classes12.zip for our application. Everything was working smoothly. Recently we moved our weblogic and oracle Servers machines locations, after that movement we started to get an exception when weblogic initializing connection pool that makes connection to a different oracle10g database. Oracle supports ask us to upgrade the jdbc driver. So we moved to 10g driver ojdbc14.jar but during testing one functionality is failing with a exception where rest of application seems to be working fine. The exception occurs when we try to post a record and during the creation of a child entity bean the transactions rollback for some unknown reasons. Using the old oracle8 classes12.zip driver the same code working fine again. We have also tried the classes12.zip driver of Oracle10g but error persist. I have checked the code and deployment descriptors but they seems fine. If i comment the creation of that particular entity bean the parent bean get created successfully and transaction commit successfully. Please also note that we have not created any relation b/w both entity beans not even in the database. They both are sort of independent.
Can any one having any idea why Oracle10g driver not working or what might be the problem with our configuration. Any help will be highly appreciated. Please see the Exception below.

  • JDBC Drivers Issue.

    Hi All,
I am working on PI 7.0 with JDK version 1.4.2.12 for a File to JDBC scenario.
Here our destination Database is Oracle 8.1.7
Now while deploying the drivers for the JDBC drivers from the following Oracle site:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
    we are having following Issues:
    1. The Drivers for the Oracle database i.e availaible on the Oracle site for Oracle 8.1.7 supports only JDK version 1.2 and 1.3. So is it advisable to use these drivers?
    2. If we use any higher version of driver say 10.2.0.1.0 (Currently we are using the same) that supports the JDK version 1.4 will it be downward compatible to Oracle 8.1.7 ?
    3. Can we have two different JDK versions for the same XI servers ? Here I mean to say that can we have JDK 1.2 as well as JDK 1.4 for same XI server and if so please share the proper procedure.
Actually all these issues arised because we are using JDBC driver 10.2.0.1.0 but we are getting problems as below:
After every sometime say around an hour the XI server restarts automatically, but JDBC adapter services stop and do not start with the start of XI server, we have to start the services manually. So here we are considering that there could be some problem with the JDBC drivers.
Plz provide your valuable information in these issues.
    Regards,
    Rookie.

    1. The Drivers for the Oracle database i.e availaible on the Oracle site for Oracle 8.1.7 supports only JDK version 1.2 and 1.3. So is it advisable to use these drivers?
*If you use Oracle8.1.7 You should have Classes12.jar driver in visual admin *
    JDBC Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Connection: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<server IP>:<port>:<DataSource name>
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bdd6a690-0201-0010-238a-9c95a5fb6f6c
    2. If we use any higher version of driver say 10.2.0.1.0 (Currently we are using the same) that supports the JDK version 1.4 will it be downward compatible to Oracle 8.1.7 ?
You should have OJDBC14.jar driver in visual admin if you use Oracle 10
    JDBC Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Connection: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<server IP>:<port>:<DataSource name>
    3. Can we have two different JDK versions for the same XI servers ? Here I mean to say that can we have JDK 1.2 as well as JDK 1.4 for same XI server and if so please share the proper procedure
No you should have only one JDK version for same XI server.

  • JDBC Drivers deployment in SAP PO system

    Hi Experts,
Could any one provide information regarding deployment of JDBC drivers in SAP PO system. As I can see one of the option in NWA (Below is the screen snap) to deploy directly driver file in to SAP PO system. Is this is the way ?? If not please show some light on this.
    Regards,
    Anusha.

    Hi Anusha
You can use SDA maker tool to build and include JDBC driver jar file in com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda file. You can also get this sda file by following the steps in SAP Note 1770304.
Ensure that the jar file is compatible with SAP JVM used in your PI system.
After you build the sda file, deploy it using telnet or SUM.

  • Deployment problem, jdbc drivers( SDM)

By seeing this document i am trying to deploy the jdbc jars.
Exchange Infrastructure How-to Guides for SAP NetWeaver 2004 [original link is broken]
i have created updated aii_af_jmsproviderlib.zip file as told in the pdf.
up to 9th step it is ok for me.
when i am choosing deployment tab in sdm. it has shown one pop-up window.
it is asking about the file name and file type. But i have the file type is aii_af_jmsproviderlib.zip.
My question is how to get sda file from the .zip file. But in this snap-shot (pdf) he is able to get the sda file. please help me from this situation.

  • JDBC drivers not working in QA for multibye characters

    Hi,
we have a problem with JDBC and deployed in DEV system and its works fine, but the same when we deply in QA its not working.
the problem we are trying to use the simple select query from ORACLE DB.
In ORACLE DB they converted the chenise char to English after that our JDBC drivers are not able to pick the multibite char.
XI JDBC Adapter shows below error with a SELECT Query
SELECT Query:SELECT * FROM APPS.ITEM_XI_V The Chinese character are converted to English and becomes multibye characters.
Error:Error during conversion of query result to XML: java.sql.SQLException: Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
Assumption is that the issue with older version of  ojdbc14.zip (JDBC Driver file)
    Reference:http://www.coderanch.com/t/299231/JDBC/java/UTF-conversion
implement SAP Note 941317 in order to resolve the current issue.
Note 941317 - XI / PI JDBC Adapter: Known Problems / Incompatibilities JDBC Driver Deployment. Refer to  SAP Note 831162
after apply as per note for DEV system its works fine, but the same when we did for our QA system still the same error.
    Thanks,

  • JDBC drivers for MSSQL 7.0

    Hi,
We have installed JDBC drivers for MSSQL by following guide "how to install and configure a JMS and JDBC adapter" and they are "msutil.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msbase.jar". Our platform is NETweaver 2004s PI 7.0 on UNIX and Oracle.
The interfaces are working fine when we are sending data to MSSQL 2000, but when we are sending data to MSSQL 7.0, we are getting errors incompatible drivers.
Are there seperate drivers MSSQL 7.0 or we need to have different set of drives. Checked Note 639702 and as per note we should be able to find drivers installed on system at
    - (NetWeaver 2004s:)
    usr\sap\<SAPSID>\SYS\exe\<NUC|UC>\Platform\mssjdbc
I did not find the 'Platform' in my system at the above mentioned path.
Can anyone help us with this issue.
    Thank You,
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
As I know, there is no JDBC driver MSSQL 7.0, so there is no direct way to get access to it.
But there is another way to do it if you have access to a MSSQL 2000 or above server.
In MSSQL 2000 you can create a linked server to the MSSQL 7.0, and then you can use XI to get access to MSSQL 7.0 tables.

  • Need information on Weblogic JDBC drivers

    Hi,
I have been using Weblogic 8.1 sp5 with oracle version -Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production.
Lately i have observed the below error:-
    <Jun 2, 2009 9:56:58 PM MEST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT 1 FROM DUAL" set up for pool "WIS03 JDBC Connection Pool" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLException: OALL8 is in an inconsistent state.".>
This may be linked to the JDBC drivers used with weblogic.
At weblogic console i can see the list of drivers as - Oracle Driver (Thin) Versions.9.0.1,9.2.0,10
Is this driver good for the Oracle version 10 g?
I am clueless for the above exception. Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    Himanshu Tageja

    Thanks Joe.
I have found the latest ojdbc.jar, below are the detials mentioned about this jar in the manifest.mf:-
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) JDBC Drivers
Specification-Title: Oracle JDBC driver classes for use with JDK14
    Sealed: true
    Created-By: 1.4.2_14 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Implementation-Title: ojdbc14.jar
    Specification-Vendor: Oracle Corporation
    Specification-Version: Oracle JDBC Driver version - "10.2.0.4.0"
    Implementation-Version: Oracle JDBC Driver version - "10.2.0.4.0"
    Implementation-Vendor: Oracle Corporation
    Implementation-Time: Sat Feb 2 11:40:29 2008
Now the issue is with respect to the Java_version used for this jar which is 1.4.2_14 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
but my weblogic server uses jdk142_08.
I have done quick tests after replacing the jar from the server/lib directory and seems no issue but can the differences in Java version lead to potential issues in future?
    Awaiting your valuable response.

  • OAF-UCM integration - Issue in deploying RIDC.jar to EBS server

    Hi ,
We are doing OAF-UCM integration with followng business scenario and need your help urgently.
    Business Scenario :
We have custom OAF pages with OA train and and in one train link we have added 'managed attachment' button to open UCM page to add documents to DM server .
We are successfully able to do integration of OAF to UCM , that is we are able to open UCM page on clicking Managed attachment button.Business agreed that OAF and UCM are two different applications so after transaction is completed in  UCM, at OAF we have refresh button which user has to clicked explicitly to pull document metadata ( lilke PDF URL etc) to OAF pages.
This is data needs to stored in EBS tables as well , to achive the same we are using RIDC mechanism to PULL the data stored corresponding on 1 unique metadata.
I m successfully able to integrate the PULL( Sychnonizaton) of data on click on refersh button of OAF page. RIDC ( UCM version 11g) is correctly configured in Jdev10g and working fine on local oc4j server,
    Problem :
When this RIDC is jar is deployed in EBS server  I m getting following error -
    Request URI:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp
    Exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/stellent/ridc/IdcClientException
We have added RIDC jar(actual physical path is =/APPS/XXXXXXX/common/java/)   file name in jserv.properties and also added in CLASS PATH
    # Custom classpath
    wrapper.classpath=/APPS/XXXXXXX/common/java/oracle.ucm.ridc-11.1.1.jar
Appreciate if some can provide pointers how to deploy this external jar file (RIDC.jar) and avoid this error.
    Many Thanks ,
    Ashish

    Ok, Figured out the issue,
Values in the OAF_AXF_CMD_PARAMS table was not matching with the actual attributes on the OAF pages. The four values
Entity Name, Primary Key, View Object and Attributes are to be entered for each page where we are intending to have the MA button.
    Thanks,
    Rajiv.

  • Configuration of JDBC drivers for ocnnecting from BOE to Oracle

    HI all,
I am trying to configure jbdc drivers in solaris for connecting BOE 3.1 sP2 to oracle 10g database.
issue is not able to create connection in universe designer using jdbc drivers
i couldnt get the exact info on this, please provide me the steps for connecting to oracle through jbdc drivers, Thanks,
    Thanks
    Ram

I am now up and running.  Several tips were found on both Adobe and Oracle sites that were helpful. Here is a brief summary of the steps:
Step 1, download* the Oracle Database11G release 2 Client for Microsoft Windows x64. (not the Instant Client). Follow the instructions provided on the download site. Select just the items you need from the custom install form.
Step 2, add your datasources using the Oracle Net Configuration Assistant**.  Select Local Net Service Name Config. Follow the prompts, answer the questions.
Step 3, add your datasources on Windows 2008 Server with Administrative Tools Datasources. Similar to step 2.
Step 4, in CF10 Administrator set up your datasources. The first thing to do is set your Class Path to the location of the jdbc .jar files.  When you configured the Oracle installation you specified the location of the files. Go there and look for the\jdbc\lib folder. It contains the jar files for your drivers. Example:  C:\\Oracle\home\jdbc\lib\.  Now add your datasources. Select Other from the drivers drop-down list. This may be the tricky part. You will need the database information for connecting, such as host name, port, user, password, etc.  The connect url will look like: jdbc:oracle:thin@hostname:portnumber:servicename. Class: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver  Name: whatever
    * download from:  oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/112010-win64soft-094461.html
** This utility should be selected as an item to install from step 1.

  • Oracle JDBC Drivers with Tomcat

I try to connect to Oracle DB with the JDBC Drivers throught Tomcat JNDI access.
I've tried with the oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver and I have an UnsupportedOperationException when calling the getConnection() method on ma dataSource ref.
So I've tried with the oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleConnectionPoolDataSource and I have an java.sql.SQLException:
Cannot create JDBC driver of class
    'oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleConnectionPoolDataSource' for connect URL
    'jdbc:oracle:thin:@(description=(address=(host=meditws322)(protocol=tcp)(port=1521)
    )(connect_data=(sid=HABILLE)))'
Please help I'm about to break down

Thanks for your reply. I use Oracle JDBC driver. The XSQLConfig.xml was changed to have the following setting:
    <connection-manager>
    <factory>oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLOracleDatasourceConnectionManager</factory>
    </connection-manager>
I'm using Tomcat 4.1.x and Apache Commons DBCP Datasources with org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory. The configuration file does set driverClassName to oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver. All other queries embedded in .xsql files work great, I only have issues with queries containing CURSOR() statements. If I switch back to built-in database connectivity, by changing XSQLConfig.xml and connection parameters in .xsql files everything is working again. When I attempt to use DataSources, I get things like this "oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleResultSetImpl@15780d9" instead of nested XML. The non-nested portion of XML looks fine also, so it is retrieving the data from the database properly. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information that could help in resolving this. Thanks in advance!

  • JDBC Drivers compatability between Oracle and IBM WSAD 5.1.1

I am using a DataAccessObject pattern. I discovered you can speed up your procesing with SELECT statments us using an OraclePreparedStatment and setting defineColumnType; thereby reducing the number of trips the SQL is sent to the database.
    Here is the code:
    ((OraclePreparedStatement)ps).defineColumnType(1, Types.BIGINT);'ps' is a PreparedStatement.
However, at runtime, I am getting a class cast exception for the below reason. I am using WASD version 5.1.1. I was not aware IBM was using any specific classes in the JDBC drivers.

at java.lang.Throwable.(Throwable.java)Could someone please explain this to me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not an WSAD expert to be honest, but it's quite possible they are using their own wrappers. Check out what calls you can make on their ps wrapper or more likely conn wrapper - they may have some type of getWrappedConnection functionality as other vendor(s) do in which case you can, eg, cast the connection to OracleConnection and go from there.
