Issue in Multiload script and import text file format

I am using text output file from essbase to be imported to HFM using multiload
The separator is tab for records.
It seems i need to use tab separator in row 6 of text file (multiload) for dimension tags because separator should be same as in data records
Is this true?
When i am using Tab as separator for row 6 also ,no data gets loaded using multiload.
But when i convert my file separator and row6 separator as comma then it works.
But i need to use tab separator.
Second point is i need to replace #MI with 0in event ecript
Will i need to create new file(with mi replced with 0) in event script to do the same

The Seperator needs to be comma for a test based multiload as noted in the samples in the FDM Administrator Guide.

Two issues discovered: 5d tether and import movie files

Using both the Canon 5d and 5d Mk2 I had the computer hang on import. In both cases I shot several frames in rapid succession. The 5d hangs after about only 3 rapid frames, the Mk2 after about 9. I'd guess this has something to do with the buffer. Has anyone else encountered this?
Also, when importing some movie files, it hangs and I have to force quit to get out of it. It's not consistent, and I even have to restart on occassion to clear this out.
RAM, processor and disk space should not be an issue-it's a new iMac 27"with 16GB RAM, 2.8 GHz i7 CPU, 2 TB HD with 1.82 TB free. OS 10.6.2.
Are these bugs in the beta, or is something else happening?

Importing text file into search and redact window.

I am in the search window under the search and redact tool. I
am trying to import a file that was originally an excel to populate the
search multiple words window. I read that text files can be imported. I saved the file as a text file but it does not import. I can import an adobe file but this gives me a list with a bunch of junk. What am I missing?

The dialog imports text files.
Make sure that the file you are importing is a text file and has one word in every line.

Importing text file (with file names) into Automator.. is it possible?

Hello all,
I have been working with Windows Batch files for my line of work. I have a couple of file names in a text file (a column), which I want to copy from one folder of one hdd to another folder on a different hdd. I have been trying to do this kind of work with a Mac. I already know how you copy and rename files in automator (which isn't difficult, of course) but you have to 'select' the files in the finder first (with get specified items).
But the only way i see that you can specify items is by selecting them... is there a way to import a text file with all the file names instead of selecting all the file names manually?
or is there an AppleScript alternative which I can use to import the text file (or just copy into applescript) and run before the query's of copying and renaming the files? I am kind of new to Apple programming.
The text file looks like this:
image1.jpg
image2.jpg
etc..
so there has to be a command to: 'goto' a specific folder as well.

You can import text files, but if they are just names you will need an additional action to add the source folder path. A *Run AppleScript* action can be used, for example:

How to load SQL scripts from a text file.

Hi, i tried several time to load a text file/SQL script with 10 different tables and data, but 10g Express doesen't allows me to do that, any one can direct me or point out to me what i should do or do i need to adopt any special method to to get this done. i am sure there must be some thing where you can upload SQL scripts from a text file (in SQL command editor!). thanks

Hi,
These rules were available on the market place for CC 40: they were included in the support package 1 or 2.
For CC 51, we had the same issue as you: we did not find the rules on the market place. Apparently, they are not.
My customer had to send a OSS message to SAP in order to receive the rules (.txt files).

Import Text Files Into Apple Notes?

Is there a way for me to automate importing text files into Apple Notes? I can certainly do this manually via copy/paste, but have over 700 files to transfer.

Automator is Apple's simple way to do tasks like this, but Notes app doesn't have any actions for this so I assume you need to use Applescript to do this. Double check Automator - I am on 10.9 & maybe 10.10 added support for Notes in Automator? Enter 'Note' in the search field to see if Automator can make new Notes.

See the "Create New Stylized Note" script <- click script icon to download it, copy & paste seems to fail because of how the browser displays characters.
You would need to adapt that script to import from the text files.
I'm not sure you really want to do that anyway - Notes app has such poor support that putting serious data into it looks like a mistake - how difficult will it be to export data when Apple eventually abandon it? It seems like a toy app to me for new iPhone users, it;s unclear if it will ever be able to compete with other options. There are third party apps to export from Notes.app, but why rely on third parties? A notes app should allow you to import & export your data!

Sorry to sound so negative on Notes.app, it's OK but I don't think its the best place to put over 700 notes.

If no form has been assigned to a text, the system automatically assigns the form SYSTEM, which contains minimal definitions for text formatting. There are two ways of formatting texts using forms: Use the standard text maintenance to enter and print the text.
Any kind of text can be included in a form. If no object is specified, then TEXT will be used (standard texts).

Text Symbols
Text symbols acquire their values as a result of explicit assignment. To interactively assign text symbols, in the text editor choose Include  Symbols  Text. This method is available for all text symbols belonging to a text module as well as those of the associated form. Values defined in this way are lost when the transaction is left. If you want to print the text module again, then you must enter the symbol values again. The purpose of the DEFINE command is to provide a means of making this value assignment a permanent part of the text, so that the values are available again when the text module is called again. This command can also be used to re-assign a new value to a text symbol half-way through the text. Syntax: /: DEFINE &symbol_name& = 'value'
/: DEFINE &subject& = 'Your letter of 7/3/95' The value assigned can have a maximal length of 60 characters. It may itself contain other symbols. A symbol contained within the value assigned to another symbol is not replaced with its own value at the point at which the DEFINE command is executed. 2. Choose Edit value bearbeiten. The dialog window Value definition for symbol <text symbol> appears.
3. Enter the appropriate value definition.
4. Choose Continue. In the dialog window Text symbols the specified value appears after the name of the text symbol.

Deleting all Text Symbol Values

Read and write from and to text file

I am trying to read some portion of a text file and make measurement and calculation with those numbers and write back to the same text file and also to a excel file. I need to create a 2 D array of 20 by 20 from the text file values and write to front panel table and to text file. but I am having problem with it, obviously I am new to this. the requirement is to move C1 and C2 to each position that is given in the text file in steps and percentage value.
for example C1 has to go to first step (5%) and C2 has to go thru all steps, 5% to 95% , in 5 percent increment.
each 100 steps translates to 1 percent increment in the capacitor value.
at the end, I need to enter the measured data (values of C1 for each step, vesus all values of C2 for all steps) and enter them at the bottom of the text file's table where it starts at : "IMPEDANCE_REAL in Ohmone line per C1 position, containing all values for the different C2 positions" and do the same for where it says "IMPEDANCE_IMAGINARY in Ohmone line per C1 position, containing all values for the different C2 positions"
the reason I read the file twice, is that if it read it once, I couldn't connect it to spreadsheet string to array vi.
as you can see, I also like to use the write to measurement file and build table express vi's to display the table on the front panel and save the data to ni data file format so later I convert it to excel too.
any thoughts?

Can I save and read text files on a server that I host?

Hello everyone,
I am a java hobbiest. I was wondering if I set up my own server, running out of my house, could I have my applets save to my computer and read from my computer without having to learn JDBC and a DATABASE language. In other words could i just have my applet save and read text files from and to my server?
I'm trying to set up a sight for my 5th grade class where parents can log into. Thanks for your time.
Oh yeah, which is easier, learning how to set up a server or learning JDBC and a DATABASE language?

Short answer: This isn't gonna work
Long answer: For this to work, the first thing you're going to need is a static IP address and a DNS name registered -actually you don't necessarily need #2 but you're probably gonna want it and it's by far the easier of the steps.
As far as I know to get a fixed IP address you've either gotta be directly attached to a larger network (ie university network) or get a leased line from an ISP.
Once you've got that done come back to us.

can u give me an example of an insert statement, let's assume the file is located in the a:drive.
and retrieving the files, i would give the user a list of all the files that are in the database, the user would select one, but what command(or piece of code) would open the file in its apppropriate editor.
e.g .pdf formatted file would open in acrobat.
any help would be appreciated.

if you want to load xml, use the xml class.
and, if you want to write to an xml file and don't want to use server-side code, wait.

Well my acquisition code runs perfect. The problem is reading it. I can't seem to read my data no matter what I do. My data gets saved as a string using the array to string vi but I've read that the string to array vi (which I need to convert back to array to read my data) does not work on the pda. I'm using version 8.0. So I was trying to modify the program posted in this discussion so that it would save data from my DAQ. I did that but I still can't read the data after its saved. I really don't know what else to do. All I need to do is read the data on the pda itself. I can't understand why I'm having such a hard time doing that. I found a possible solution on another discussion that talks about parsing the strings because of the bug in the "string to array" vi. However, that lead me to another problem because for some reason, the array indicators or graphs don't function on the pda. When i build the program to the pda or emulator, the array indicators are faded out on the front panel as if the function is not valid. Does this kind of help give a better picture of what I'm trying to do. Simply read data back. Thanks.

Generate a report in text file format

I need to write a program to generate a report in a text file format which is later saved on a directory in the application server. I have the fields with the sources defined and also the filters, selections, rows and columns. For example:-
0company code (US) as the filter, 0CALDAY as the selection, CUSTNAM as the object in the row with sources coming from BUKRS and ZSD_CCUST. Can someone initiate or direct me to an already existing forum or throw some light on the issue.

As mentioned above, the Open Hub service allows to extract data from an InfoCube/ODS/InfoObject and then store it a database table or flat file stored in the application server. You can start in transaction RSBO and create an InfoSpoke there.
To schedule an extraction using an InfoSpoke, you need to place it in a process chain.
