Issue launching latest version of iTunes

I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, and when I go to launch it I get the following error message:
iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point AVCFAssetCreateWithByteStreamAndOptions could not be located in the dynamic link library AVfoundationCF.dll
Then I hit "ok" and this message comes up:
iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please reintstall iTunes.  Error 7 (Windows error 127).
I have tried re-installing and I still get the same error message.  Any suggestions???

  • Help! Syncing issues with latest version of iTunes

Help! I've upgraded my PC to Windows 7 & reinstalled iTunes but it will not sync to my PC in the way the old iTunes did. i.e. I can add music to my iTunes library but it won't add it to the iPod without threatening to wipe it first. What can I do?? I've got over 50GB on my iPod and cannot face the idea of having to readd everything - I just want to put some new albums on it. With the older copy of iTunes I had (can't use that now - apparently this iPod is too new) I could just click 'sync' and it would do it.

You may try some iTunes alternatives like this iPod file manager, it can upload songs and videos to iPod classic, it will not delete the songs on iPod. If you do afraid losing the songs, you can use the app to copy the songs from iPod classic to your new PC for backup first.

  • I just downloaded the latest version of itunes for Windows and now itunes crashes every time i launch it

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes for Windows and now iTunes crashes everytime I launch it.  I have tried re-downloading and selecting Repair with no luck.  Any suggestions?
    thanks

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • Latest version of iTunes will not launch

I installed the latest version of iTunes 12.1.1.4 as soon as it was available and it was working fine on my Windows 8.1 system. Then about a week ago, suddenly it would not launch with no response whatsoever, no hourglass, no error messages, no error logs, nothing. When I tried to use the safe mode as well as using admin privileges I had the same result...nothing. I followed all of the instructions in HT203206 to uninstall and reinstall twice with the same results. I believe that Windows had a major number of updates between the time I updated iTunes and the time it stopped working, but I can't pinpoint what, if any, issues that caused.
    Can someone please help?

Here is an update. I rolled back my system to a date prior to the Windows latest updates and again followed the instructions in HT203206 to uninstall and reinstall. No luck. I then uninstalled that version and installed the x64 version for "older video cards". No luck.
There seems to be a number of support questions regarding this topic with no additional answers other than to uninstall and reinstall per HT203206. When this doesn't work what do I do next, start using Windows media player? This is not the answer I would expect from Apple. There must be an explanation for the program to stop working and hopefully a solution.
As a footnote, my system is Win 8.1 with all updates except the latest March hotfixes, Intel I5 core, 16G memory, Geforce 750xi video and Turtle Beach audio, all device drivers are up to date. No other programs or device driver updates were performed prior to the program not working.

  • After upgrading to latest version of iTunes audio CD burning issues

    Hi,
I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and now when I try to burn a playlist as an audio CD it keeps telling me it won't fit on one CD and I have now gotten the playlist down to 1 hour and it is an 80 Min CD and it still won't let me do it. Anyone else having an issue and if so is there a solution?
    Thanks,
    Mike

I've seen this once before and deleting the playlist and recreating it with a different name solved it.
Also... try using disk utility to burn a data CD to make sure that burning generally works. Daft I know, but there you go.

I have itunes 10.5.2   Can i download and update directly to the latest version of itunes without any issues?

Yes, but back up the library first. Note that if you're using Mac OS X 10.5.8, you won't be able to update iTunes past 10.6.3.

you are running the latest version of iTunes, have no other USB devices attached, have no security software installed, and are directly connected to your ISP source, simply restarting the computer and the iOS device can clear up certain issues that could prevent you from restoring. After restarting the computer and iOS device, attempt to restore again.

How big is your library?  I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
    - Backup your library.  Always a good idea before messing with things.
    - Create a new library.   Refer to this article for details:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589.  This won't delete your old library, you're just creating a new empty one.  Also refer to this article to get back to your old library later.
    - Add a few albums into this new library.  Not everything, just a small sampling, as a test.
    - Activate Match on this new library.  You shouldn't have to re-pay, it should just say "Add Computer" or similar.
    - At this point, Match should run again. With just a few albums it should complete in just a few minutes.
If iTunes doesn't crash at this point, then likely there's something about your original library that Match doesn't like - what that is I don't know, but at least you'll know it's not your PC.   If iTunes still crashes, then if could be a number of other things, but probably not your library.   My next suggestion (if you haven't already done this) is to uninstall / reinstall iTunes.   If that doesn't work, then my next ideas you won't like.

  • Issue with the latest version of ITunes - Won't recognize Iphone 4

Even since I updated to the latest version of ITunes, whenever I plug my Iphone into the USB cable, my iphone goes a little nuts by constantly going into Charging Mode  and then out...over and over again.  When I launch ITunes, it doesn't even show my device in the list.  I don't think it's my phone because I can plug it into other computers and it is recognized just fine.  So I'm assuming it's a problem with ITunes, but I cannot find any errors anywhere.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks!

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes, now it will not launch.  I get a Windows Error 127 message.  Any suggestions?

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • I cannot install the latest version of iTunes on laptop (windows xp). I receive a windows installer error message. Not having any issues installing any other software.  Was having no issue syncing w iPhone. Made the mistake of uninstalling prior version.

I cannot install the latest version of iTunes on my laptop (windows xp). I receive a windows installer error. Am not having any problem installing other software or syncing w iPhone.  Made the mistake today of uninstalling my older version and not cannot install new.  Need new version in order to sync w new iPad.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
